PoliticsRe: Hilda Williams For Lagos State Governor by alarinka(m): 8:49pm On Dec 03, 2006
streetcyph:
,

do u think everybody fits into your stereotype? my friend, u are highly mistaken.

there are credible candidates among the aspirants. agabaje, pedro, to name a few. you cannot say because the person is a household name he surely must be corrupt.

their track records speak fro themselves. agbaje comes from a very respectable family in the corportate sector- his father was d chairman of guarantytrust bank, arguably nigeria (and mybe africa's) best bank ever. his pharmaceutical company, jay kay, is one of the most trusted in nigeria

femi pedro took a bank that was negative 300million in profits to over 6 billion profits in the space of 4 years (1998 to 2002). he is the one who created mobile banking with his innovative "flash me cash" that we all use to send money to others by our phone.

before you start lambasting candidates, do you bloody homework.
, this is not about issues of lambasting or home work, what has that got to do with objectivity, i am AC/AD all the way, Tinubu promised all in 1998/99, go to lekki, yaba and see for yourself, the truth is that these fellows are just interested in the perks of office, so that people like you will continue to adore them or rather follow them albeit blindly,
Lagos state needs someone who is selfless,a commited hard worker and at the time a statesman, i am sorry we are yet to get there, next year is around the corner,i will be vindicated, by the way what has flash me cards got to do with roads and security in Lagos!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brother be objective, eko no get time for sentiments, Nigeria [nay Lagos ]must work, the world is leaving us behind!!!!!!
Get your"" bloody"" thots together,
NYSCRe: Corpers' Lodge: Ask Questions & Share Your NYSC Experience by alarinka(m): 8:14pm On Dec 03, 2006
G-reycells:
i have read posts that talk of patriotism with bravado et al. The truth is, NYSC is a bloody waste of time. I will try to scan and post the picture of our camp in 2001 that was set ablaze in Keffi-Nasarawa State by crazy-ass students of Government College Keffi, after raping a female corp member while we were in camp.

A lot of guys lost all their certificates and personal effects to that event. Brigadier Ogunkoya was the NYSC boss then. He had to come-in from Abuja because of the crisis. We did not do POP at camp.

The state government, as represented by the present deputy- governor, Labaran Maku, who is now deputy governor of the state covered the truth. They did that weeks after co
member changed their mind about re-deploying because everybody wanted to redeploy after that incident and Ogunkoya who was on ground and saw the situation granted redeployment to all that wanted another state.

As if that was not enough, those who stayed didnt fare any better. It was one story of assault and battery from the natives. A lot of story that remains unheard because of the repressive NYSC laws.

But we should thankGod that the Freedom Of Information Bill has been passed. The mess being covered by NYSC officials, especially in the North will be opened. Oppressed, assaulted, raped etc corp members will be able to speak loud and clear.

Above all, if you have been to the NYSC Store at Area 11 in Abuja, you will know that the NYSC Scheme is a major source of wealth and income for some prominent Nigerians who are contractors to the NYSC and who will do everything to ensure that the useless, one-sided time wasting rubbish that led to the death of many young and promising lads and lass through motor accidents; kaduna, kano and Jos religiously motivated riots is not scrapped.
, that was a lovely one, the proramme[good concept though is outliving its usefulness, i agree with you; the central stores people, the state cashiers/directors are actually richer, arrogant and greedy, i guess they dont spend their salaries for a year at times!!!!!!

, the holy book says[quite clearly] that in my father s house.[i.e heaven]
feelgood:
I came across a thread 'I Do Not Believe In God' by mysummero and noticed that he actually
acknowledges the existence of God, but he's only confused about where a person goes after death.
As is usual in many threads, the varied responses deviated from the topic and was becoming a personalty
clash among the posters. I'm therefore starting this thread in the hope that you good folks will do 'justice'
to it and perchance, mysummero may retrace his steps. Also, I bet there will be revelations and interesting posts. So:
WHERE DOES A PERSON GO AFTER (S)HE DIES?
, ave gone to prepare a place for you, [in case u re a believer, ]
