PoliticsRe: S’east, S’west, S’south Divided Over Indigene/settler Clause by alex14(m): 9:48pm On Aug 19, 2012
Any Igbo that supports this useless bill is a traitor to the Igbo nation angry. I don't know why our people (elected and non-elected officials) are so brainless? If this law passes, Ndigbo would be the biggest loosers. It will increase the rate of "efulefuism" in Igboland, astronomically. Without this law, Ndigbo already have a false sense of "one-nigeria" by buying up properties outside the SE in large proportion,,,so your guess is as good as mine if this law passes sad.

The earlier we start helping to bring apart this dungeon of a country, the better for us as a people. Imagine if there is a Biafran or Igbo republic? You could build up your country militarily and project your might across the region. Even, you could fight for your citizens' right to compensation for his/her properties in any part of former nigeria cool
PoliticsRe: Ojukwu Killed Lt. Col. Banjo: Why? I Need to get to the root of this matter... by alex14(m): 9:05pm On Aug 15, 2012
2mch: Banjo was a fool. Considering the circumstances and how it all played out, he should have known his time was up when they put him as the leader to a suicidal mission and to betray his own people. I would have led them to the SW and abandoned ship at ore. Anyway, he got his reward from Ojukwu for not attacking his own people. grin Ojukwu the ambitious, juvenile, coward. There was never any evidence he actually fought or led troops. cry. If the idea was truly to liberate SW why kill Banjo?
grin grin grin With the bolded, you've just confirmed what every human have been saying: "yorubas cannot be trusted". Instead of leading them half-way to Ore and doing the "Usain Bolt" on the troops placed under your command, why don't you just tell Ojukwu that you can't lead the Biafran forces to yorubaland because it will be seen as "betraying liberating Yoruas" from northern yoke?
PoliticsRe: Lagos Is Not Broke – Fashola by alex14(m): 4:35pm On Aug 15, 2012
I laugh in "Yoruba-oily" magic. When the dungeon called nigeria disintegrates, our "friends" of yoroube extraction shall become financially extinct. The odua nation will become the poorest nation in africa, for they keep producing and celebrating fraudulent leaders like fashola and co.

phreakabit: We are glad you lot are so proud of Awo's actions. . Guess what will happen when this "country" eventually splits up? Each and every one of us will stand alone, and debts shall be repaid in FULL! No threats, just a promise.
@ the bolded, I say it's all that matters. I as an Igbo son is more interested in the aftermath of nigeria's disintegration (believe me, it will happen for I've seen it). We as Ndigbo, should start planning our Biafran/Igbo republic militarily in order to deal with a lot of folks in erstwhile nigeria. One of the reasons I detest the dungeon called "one nigeria" is that it provides safety and emboldens a lot of weak groups.
Here, we have northerners weaklins claiming to have won the war and their yorogba slaves making thesame claim. I'm 100% sure that when we ever have our Biafran/Igbo republic, such nonsensical claim will cease to exists. Weak groups like abokis and loud-mouthed ngbatis are talking because of the protection that "one nigeria" provides them. This is why these two "cowardy" sh#ts on their pants whenever the talk of splitting nigeria is discussed. My message to the desert infested notherners and their oily-soup-eating slaves called Yorubas is simply summarized as follows:

Make sure you do your best (with your blood,,lol) to prevent nigeria from splitting apart, because if nigeria comes apart,,,BE VERY AFRAID!!!
PoliticsRe: Is Nigeria Better Off Split? by alex14(m): 2:16am On Aug 10, 2012
Again, the answer to this thread (QST) is simply "YES, nigeria is better of split".

Take the area of sport for example, we use to have inter-house sports in public (high/secondary) schools where you have students participating in sports like track & field,, football (soccer), high jump e.t.c. These public schools were able to conduct inter-house sports because they all had field(s) big enough for the afforementioned sports. Alas, today what do you have? You have a situation where the public school system has failed and no parent(s) wants to send their kids to public school. They all want their kids in private school(s).
Most of these private schools aren't even big enough to conduct any major sporting activity for students to take part in,,,hence dearth in new talent. All these are as result of the mirage "one nigeria". I know most private schools that are built on just one plot of land measuring 120/60.So going forward, it's never going to look well for the dungeon called one nigeria.

PoliticsRe: Re: Plan To Demolish Mosque In Onitsha(pic) by alex14(m): 2:03am On Aug 06, 2012
I have said it over and over again that "one nigeria" provides satefy for the weak. I can't imagine people being opposed to the demolition of this eye-sore of a mosque. This is why I look forward to the disintegration of the dungeon called nigeria so as to avoid any conflict of interest. In a Biafran or Igboland republic, I will like to see any goat from any corner of former nigeria that will object to any government planned action that'd benefit the republic.

Again, the dungeon called nigeria provides safety for the weak and these cowards know themselves angry

I can understand Yoruba's bowing down to the north, but I'm really appalled at Yoruba's becoming spokes-men/spokes-women for a northern terrorist sect like boko haram.
I tire for these folks! How the hell did I end up in thesame country with these people?

When the dungeon called nigeria finally crumble, I will personally advise my new nation's administration to position a naval fleet/military base in the territorial waters of Odua republic, for we cannot afford to trust these people to think/act right cool.
PoliticsRe: El- -rufai Insulted Igbo Race —obi by alex14(m): 6:28pm On Jun 13, 2012
The brainless El rufai should go and talk about his backward north before we take him serious.

Another thing I've come to realise about nairaland is that to gain notoreity, just post/hate on anything Igbo and watch how you'll become popular on this site. Bigoted goats like Gbawe (a Yoruba who likes licking northern a.rses), dayokanu, bluetooth, ileke idi, and other brainless goon who will go to any length to create excess Id's like alh harem=shymmex=bittyend=brixtonyute=ilaje1444=et.al have all become popular. Thanks to their Igbo-hating tendencies.

All these have made me to finally understood and embrace the "Aka Ikenga" motto which is: "the magic of being IGBO". So in essence, clowns who are nothing in life can assume that they will become something in life as long as they keep attacking those that are looking at leaping into the 21st century, while the haters remain stuck in stone age.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THE DUNGEON CALLED "ONE NIGERIA" PROTECTS A LOT OF WEAK GROUPS. el rufai and his slaves ON NAIRALAND IS A PROOF OF THIS cool.

Nigeria: A Nation On A Death Row

Posted: June 5, 2012 - 17:47

By Chukwuma Iwuanyanwu

The jury members did deliver a sound verdict to place Nigeria on a death row. The Judge did not select the jury members in the sense that men of integrity would not have been selected, rather it was self-selection based on patriotism and love for the country.

Anybody who loves Nigeria would not like her to live, because the rape on her has been violent and merciless; and in its wake, a stigma has been pasted on her. Nigeria needs a peaceful departure from this planet earth and surely no one would want his or her love one to suffer too much, hence either through euthanasia or outright verdict on death row would be better to save the sick from further punishment. But her enemies would not let her die due to their selfish desire to continue raping her or a sadistic exploitation of the defenseless.

When I was at Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, my friend and a class mate in the department of Petrochemical Engineering, Peter Eneh, pointed to me a salvo in the Newswatch Magazine, fired by the late Dele Giwa, describing Nigeria as “an experiment in the impossible”. The impossibility of such experiment, to enliven Nigeria has been futile more than ever in the present time. Our own Chinua Achebe was long ago frustrated with the Nigeria project that he enthused that the problem with Nigeria was and still is corruption. The late Emeka Odimegwu Ojukwu wanted to tear the country into pieces by asking for a Republic of Biafra and bunch of his enemies stopped him. Now Boko Haram is on the “evil throne” to bomb everybody to death because power has slipped into the hand of the “simply Otueke man, called Goodluck Jonathan. People do not want the truth, and the truth is that the hardliners in the North may be the brain behind the upsurge of terrorism in Nigeria led by Adamu Ciroma. I have never heard these elements condemning these terrorists, except few noble ones from the North. An American man said, a man told a lie because he did not want to offend anybody and the other man told a lie because he had no choice, then where lies the truth? The truth is that the North wants to rule Nigeria as their own birth right, despite the fact that hard adherence to Islam is replete with cave ideas and too British, too lethargic and too pedantic. Who has a good idea in Nigeria anyway?

Yours sincerely published in Sahara reporters some headlines like “Nigeria has no future”, Those who are ruling Nigeria are not the smart ones”, “Unfit President, kidnapping and the death of a nation” and “The ruled are the problem” among others. In some cases, I was vilified while some saw reasons with me and congratulated me for sounding useful warnings. Nothing has changed rather the country is on a fast lane for death and why can’t we let her die? The country is a cesspool of cow dung and I believe the majority has lost interest in the Nigerian project. The starting point is, a Nigerian is of no good and only may be, 5% of the people are worthy to be called human beings, though not a scientific research.

Corruption has eaten deep that it would be almost impossible to rejuvenate the country from abyss of total collapse. As far as 5 year old in Nigeria has perfected the art of corruption, robbery instincts and cutting corners. There is no more culture worthy of emulation in Nigeria anymore and the first line of blame is the leaders. If we can liken Nigeria like a corporation, the CEO and the top management are charged with the vision, mission, strategy and other leadership imperatives for the survival of the company.

In social corporate responsibility, the classical view, championed by the former American noble laureate in economics, Milton Friedman said that the main goal of corporation was to make profit. On that basis alone a chief executive who failed to perform is fired and replaced by the board of directors, so that the company may not go under. On the hand, the socioeconomic plank, views a corporation as not only exists to make profit but to go further and take care of the people, environment and the host communities, a sound ethical leadership espoused by the human relations movement, led by Douglas Macgregor. He made this view prominent in his book titled The Human Side of Enterprise. A chief executive who failed also to live up to these responsibilities is due to firing and to be replaced with a competent person.

When a company is on the verge of collapse, an experienced leader, who is ruthless, if need be will be on hand to salvage the organization from collapse. Nigerian needs a ruthless leader if she is to be removed from the death row; in this case, the corruption madness will be obliterated, integrity will be restored, merit promoted, sponsors of Boko Haram brought to book, prosecuted and hanged and sanity instituted in all aspect of our lives; and watch how the country will be on her way to meet the 2020 vision; and she will have a date with prosperity. Boko Haram has no legitimate cause for the Jihad war or than either a Northern or no president. The duty for the CEO or the President of a country is to set a good mark in which every other person will toe.

For the fact that Nigeria is a fertile land for corruption, all manners of people from the globe will head to Nigeria to practice the highest art of corruption. The Dana Air crash that sent many families to untold anguish and suffering would not have happened. Indians are even more crooks than Nigerians, but some of the laws in India will not allow ugly practices, but in Nigeria, the beat goes on. Dana Air that crashed on June 03, 2012 was not supposed to fly, the plane was sick, yet the management allowed it to fly, to quench the lives of the innocent ones; only in Nigeria. In a civilized land, all fleet of Dana Air is supposed to be grounded until routine checks are allowed to verify the airworthiness of the airline. In a related development, a former employee of Air Nigeria has also sounded a warning of the danger of flying the airplanes of this company, but the Nigeria way, bribe will be offered and many Nigerian lives will be slaughtered. In the subsequent days ahead, Jimoh Ibrahim will take airwaves and newspapers to put a spin to the man’s revelation.

One of the greatest problems facing Nigeria is the acceptance of change. It is only in Africa, politically and in the corporate world, business that people resist change. The resistance to change is as a result of the fear of the unknown, so resistors want the status quo, but without change, there will be no innovation and organizations can lose money, go under or overtaken by competitors. A good lesson is from the Living Systems Theory of James Grier Miller. An organism is an open system; it exchanges information, energy and matter with the environment. The least organism is the single cell Amoeba and the most complex organism is the United Nations. Nigeria is a living organism and if she wants to survive, she has to embrace change. The Darwin’s survival of the fittest is derived from the fact that any organism that refuses to embrace change will die. If animals, plants and micro- organisms can change to survive, why not Nigeria? The North should accept the fact that power has changed hand in Nigeria and Jonathan is qualified to rule just like Shagari and Umaru Yar’Adua.

Nigerian needs cleansing, from the presidency, the national assembly, political leaders, judiciary, university teachers, all manners of teachers, civil servants, corporate workers, students, market women, business men and women, civil societies to the least person in Nigeria. Civic lessons should be reintroduced in our primary schools, disciplined returned to all schools and families should not abandoned their responsibilities. We need to go back to the basics, to restore our time-honored cultures, otherwise, let the country remain in death row and with time, we sing the requiem mass. As it stands now, many Northerners and Southerners are enemies of the state. I may wrong, but the only guys I respect in Nigeria are Prof. Attahiru Jega and prof. Wole Soyinka.

A final warning to the transportation department and the Road Safety Commission, that due to the latest air crash, many people will momentarily take to the roads and safety of the passengers and road users should be guaranteed. We hate planning ahead and preparing for imminent problems that may arise due to situations. It is only in Nigeria one does not see Highway Patrol Officers looking for the bad guys and looking out for the welfare of the road users. May the souls of the departed in the Dana crash rest in peace, especially Dr. Levi Ajuonuma, who had been my idol since his days at the Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC); his Morning Safari program was the best. He left for USA in the late 70s for further studies earning a Ph.D. degree in Communications at the University of Minnesota.

When he came back, he worked with the United States Information Service till he moved to Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) where he was an anchorman of the Sunday Show program. From NTA, he moved to Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as the General Manager, Public Affairs, these are the little I knew of him. Charles Nwaogaraku, my cousin and Levi’s colleague at IBC then described him as a very smart person who dug deep to select the best records to play on the airwave. Levi, many people especially your wife, children, associates, friends and family members will miss you. Adieu, my friend. Death, where is your sting?

The main "psychological purpose" of fighting a war is not to die for your country but to make your enemy die for his. If we as Biafrans bear this in mind, we will always come out on top and if we must die for Biafra, we will do so happily after we must have slain atleast 100 of our enemies cool.

Nigerians do not SNC for mending fences because the fence is not amendable. Nigeria is growing very fast with remarkable differences among the populace. It is unfortunate Nigeria/Biafra civil war has exerted undue burden on infinitesimal link of unity among the people. What Nigeria needed is a serious talk of disintegration as the one seem in old Yugoslavia.

Nigerians are ridicules funny people and it shows in their manifestations. Excepts the Biafrans, there is no other lying swine in Nigeria that has the intestinal fortitude to indicate the need for nation state with a contiguous marked boundary. The so-called northern region and useless Arewa have not even remotely hinted the number of countries expected out of northern region. Even the so-called Middle-Belt region is nescient about disintegration of Nigeria and seemed lost in the complex undertaking.

The Oodua is, as usual, a treacherous bunch of people perching around like a homeless and drunken birds. The leaders are only interested in real estate that has surplus crude oil in southern region of Nigeria. It is either they are wooing in Ijo and lifeless south-south to join them in forming a confederation or they are busy worrying about the boundary limits of Igbo land.

Another confused group is the so-called south-south plank. Based on my little knowledge of the Nigeria, the people who publically arrogate notation of Niger Deltan or South-south to themselves are the goofiest human beings in Nigeria. This group could be likened to a bunch of nomads who embarked on a journey without the knowledge of their starting point. They have allowed the northern and western regions to define them. Even many of them have been sent onto a route with designation of “point of no return” due to ill advice from northern and western regions. This group can be easily mistaken for their Middle-belt counterpart.
You took the bolded words out of my mouth cool. Confused set of people

How Awolowo lured Omoboriowo to fight Ajasin – Mafo
Politics Monday, April 16, 2012

By Emmanuel Aziken, Political Editor and Gbenga Oke

…says Bola Ige successfully blackmailed Awolowo for 2nd term ticket

PRINCE Olu Mafo is a chip of the old block. As Secretary of the Unity Party of Nigeria, UPN Parliamentary
Caucus in the old Ondo State of House of Assembly between 1979 and 1982, secretary of the State UPN

Caucus and subsequently as State Secretary of the National Party of Nigeria, NPN, he was privy to the intrigues that threw up the crisis that bestirred the State in 1983.

A lawyer, Mafo was a member of the House of Representatives between 1999 and 2003 and following that, Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly. Presently a member of the Presidential Monitoring Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC projects, he in his words was one of the closest associates of the deceased erstwhile deputy governor of the old Ondo State, Chief Akin Omoboriowo.

Following Chief Omoboriowo’s death, Vanguard sought Mafo's opinion on the personae of the controversial deputy governor. Excerpts:

AS a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly in 1983; can you recollect the events of June, July and August 1983?

I was the parliamentary secretary of the House of Assembly, arranging all the affairs and proceedings of the House. You will recall that the same year, we were heading for the presidential election and Chief Awolowo wanted to be the flag-bearer of the UPN and to succeed, he must get the support of the governors, the LOOBO state governors as we called them. So, there was some horse trading. He promised Omoboriowo, he promised the deputy governor in Oyo State, Bola Ige, Ambrose Alli and Jakande. He promised them that all of them would return with him.

What exactly did he promise the deputy governors?

He promised them they will be returned as governors to replace the incumbent governors. He promised all the deputy governors and this was unknown to anybody until this issue came and I asked Omoboriowo, 'people are accusing you of being too over ambitious what is the background?' then he told me the story and I believed him.

It was that promise that almost ruined UPN because Bola Ige told the old man, 'if you are not supporting us to come back as governors and you are supporting my deputy, I am not going to pay my own ten million naira' because that was the amount each governor was to pay to assist the presidential campaign. So, at a very late point, the old man for once somersaulted and he decided to allow the governors run for second term and that was the beginning of the UPN crises in Oyo, in Ondo and practically everywhere in the South-West.

It seems as if only you and Omoboriowo were privy to it. How can we substantiate this?

You know there is so much about Chief Awolowo that some of us know that the public may never know. The 1983 election for example, when he called some of us to Park Lane for a cocktail and there I told the old man that the 1983 election was over.

Based on what?

Based on what I knew from my friend, Uba Ahmed (General Secretary of the National Party of Nigeria, NPN). The point is that because of the crisis in the UPN, the governor was fighting us for removing the speaker in Ondo State and he enlisted the support of Chief Awolowo and of course Chief Awolowo called us to Ikenne and I told him 'baba I am sorry, the House will not accept the speaker back.' We did our homework, made our enquiries, investigated the man and found him liable of so many stupid offences which compromised the House. And that is a problem when you have a Speaker that is wining and dining with the Governor at your expense.

We wanted ours to be a vibrant and focused assembly. If you look at the development which we achieved with our determination to put the commissioners on their toes and stop them from plundering resources of the state, it was still the best. Ajasin's government gave the best to Ondo State. From factories, to roads and water and whatever is existing today, Ajasin created it and we made it possible because we didn't allow the commissioners to steal. The four we discovered, we told him to remove them and they started begging.

This was our internal UPN secret. Instead of allowing the begging to go through the system, they just announced their redeployment from their ministries; and of course, the House took him up and we just called him all manner of names. Professor Aluko was on our side because he (Aluko) investigated these commissioners and found that they had stolen money. So how can you redeploy them? That is what I told him. You have not removed them instead you decided to redeploy them to other ministries where they will perfect their stealing and you will never discover it.

The picture you are painting about Chief Omoboriowo is different because a lot of people saw him as over ambitious and a bad person. How do you react to that?

No! I would say I was the first among equals in the history of those four years in Ondo State. I know a lot that the governor did not know, I know a lot that Omoboriowo did not know. The secret of the state were with me and the speaker, Richard Jelowo. What I am trying to say is that, Omoboriowo and his Oyo State counterpart, Chief Afolabi were assured that they would be governors in their respective states by Chief Awolowo. If you say it now, Babatope (Chief Ebenezer Babatope, then National Organising Secretary of UPN) will say Mafo has come again, he has invented something. God is my witness that is the truth.

Was it all the deputy governors that were promised?

Yes, it was all the deputy governors.

Including Akorere in Bendel State?

Yes!

What was the basis of that assurance by Chief Awolowo?

Generally, you know Chief Awolowo, he was not satisfied with the performance of the incumbent governors then and he believed the deputy governors would do better.

At what point did he give them that assurance?

He made the promise to them (deputy governors) before he announced to them (governors) his intention to contest the presidency and of course solicited their support, I mean the governors now.

Soliciting support

The second leg was that before then, he did not know that the deputy governors will openly show their interest to his embarrassment, but they did. When a meeting was called on the funding of his presidential election, it was Bola Ige who spoke on behalf of the governors. Bola Ige said 'no, we are not paying, you want the deputy governors, let them assist you,' he was very blunt.

I think the only man who did not toe the line, I think was Ambrose Alli and my governor, Chief Ajasin and of course, you can expect Jakande to be loyal at any time, he didn't say anything. But Bola Ige claimed he was speaking for all the governors and they all nodded according to Omoboriowo.

Was Omoboriowo at that meeting?

Yes, he was present at the meeting.

Were all the deputy governors at that meeting?

Remember, they were talking about how the states will use their offices to fund the presidential campaign and all the deputy governors were there. So that was the only issue they discussed. Now, when they (governors) realized that their deputies were showing interest in their position, they called another meeting and asked 'baba (Chief Awolowo) what is this, they (deputy governors) said that you are the one encouraging them to come out'.

He first of all blasted them and accused them of not performing and that UPN would lose most of the states if they were not careful. The governors said 'ok no problem, if that is the way you see it, we will try on our own to come back and we are not going to support your presidential ambition.' Bola Ige said that to him.

Ambition of their deputies

You know it is like the do or die situation of today that a governor cannot have a second term. It was at that meeting that the governors got to know about the ambition of their deputies. Of course the deputy governors went back to him (Awololwo) either collectively or somehow, and he told them 'I am sorry, my hands are tied, they (governors) are blackmailing me that they will not support me financially and what do I do.' So, he told them 'you are still younger men, let this one pass, let’s work together.' But most of them (deputy governors) had gone a long way preparing to be governors of their states, particularly Omoboriowo.

But as Omoboriowo was Ajasin's deputy could he not also be blamed for the alleged failure of Ajasin's government?

No. By then, Ekiti State was still part of Ondo State and three quarters of the permanent secretaries were from Ekiti. Then there was a gang up by the non Ekiti as we called ourselves. There was a gang up by the civil servants using the politicians to say how can we have a governor and the Ekitis are still more than us in serious positions. It was that other factor that led to Omoboriowo being called home by the Ekitis who told him that they were supporting him, that 'whatever Awolowo says, we are supporting you.'

Could it not be said that Omoboriowo's defection from the UPN to the NPN was an act of desperation?

No. He wanted to contest and he believed that the old man let them down and that he had gone too far and believing that under any platform that he could win. I am aware that Chief Awolowo tried so hard to persuade him because he loved that man (Omoboriowo) too much and I will say even more than Jakande. So dear, so close to him. Omoboriowo was led to believe that he will be governor but when the crises came frontally, I led the house to pass a resolution on the floor that we were all moving out to NPN and we did.

Why?

It was because of the crises. They were fighting us for not returning the speaker and Omoboriowo was very sympathetic to us and they were now fighting the man they believed would be governor in the next election. So we said let us get out of this party and to give Chief Awolowo and Chief Ajasin a real knock. We decided by a resolution on the floor which I moved.

So did you really carry out the threat?

Yes we did and I can tell you that for more than six months, (name withheld) who was in the NPN was paying our salary and allowances.

Do you believe Omoboriowo won that election?

No. It was rigged.

Did you support him in rigging the election?

No, I did not.

But you were already in NPN then?

Yes. I was, very close to him.

So how did the NPN rig the election?

Well, like any rigging system, they used the people, process and documents. You manipulate the documents; you get an election of your choice especially when you have the federal might behind you.

After his death Omoboriowo is being hailed as a good man. But do you think that the crises and the death were worth it?

No, the killing was not our making. The killing was organized by the UPN, they believed that if they killed as many of us as possible, that we would pull back but that hardened the resolve of members of the House of Assembly. It was so dangerous and for example I became the secretary of the NPN in the state and when I worked in my office, I had some police about four or five of them walking around me in my office, and we never knew where I would sleep because between 7 and 9 in the night, I could head for Ijero to sleep with Omoboriowo or straight to Benin where Ogbemudia would facilitate my sleeping and then get back to Ondo State. It was very dangerous and the people that started the killing came from Ijebu Ode.

Fantastic assistance

Chief Onabanjo organized that and he brought them with their ammunition and everything with government vehicle to Ondo State. What they did not know was that we were also monitoring them. They did not know our own position. They just believed that they would move in and kill all of us and that was their mistake. Adewusi (Inspector General of Police) was also there for us and he gave us fantastic assistance.

After that election and the crisis, Chief Omoboriowo it seemed had a fundamental change in his disposition to life. Some say he became a Christian. What happened to him?

Omoboriowo had always been a good Christian but I believe that after the election and the court cases which he lost, I was in the House of Representatives; he came to me and told me he felt bad about politics generally and the deception in the leadership of political parties.

Did he name Awolowo?

Well, he had his doubt about Awolowo's sincerity when he called the deputy governors and urged them to prepare to take over. I said, what do you want to do now? He replied and said "I am a born again now and I want to spend the rest of my life asking for forgiveness and getting closer to my creator God” and that was what he did through-out.

So, how will you describe Chief Omoboriowo?

The picture of Omoboriowo as a power drunk young man, as a man who wanted to unseat his boss is not true. There were two factors. The promise to them by the leader of the party and the Ekiti factor. The Ekitis were feeling that the non Ekitis were getting at them and in fact, that was what propelled the creation of Ekiti State. All their leaders were behind Omoboriowo. I mean every Ekiti man, every Ekiti leader of standing...So, it was not just his making, he didn't wake up and say 'I want to be governor.'

I know as a fact Omoboriowo is dead now and most of the people who are privy to this thing are dead. Babatope who was the organizing secretary cannot speak on the issues I am talking about now because he was not privy.. He would have heard about it (though) but he and Jakande are the two living fanatical supporters of Chief Awolowo alive today. Jakande was not (actually) a fanatical person, he was humble, sincere, loyal person but people like Babatope, oh no! Everything that Baba did must be right.

Do you believe so?

As parliamentary secretary in the House and of the UPN, I was supposed to be attending all the meetings at Ikenne and wherever they were holding it, but I attended only once. The setting of the meeting and the way the thing was being conducted was so undemocratic and I told one of my friends that I will not come here again.

Are you saying that Awolowo was undemocratic?

No. Chief Awolowo was democratic but the trouble is this and that is the bane of our political system. If Chief Awolowo had sponsored a goat, he would have been elected on his reputation and performance as premier of Western Region. They just believe papa, papa, but nobody...I will give you an instance, we had a meeting at Festac gallery when all of us were elected in 1979.

We talked about our salary and allowances, then Chief Awolowo said he was hearing voices, that we were giving to ourselves too big salaries and wages and he preached at that meeting that 'if you people don't do what I am going to tell you now and that I have the consent and the backing of the governors, I will urge the crowd who come to the Assembly to stone you people and drive all of you out.'

We didn't say anything but when it got to the point of reacting myself, another friend who is late now, Omodunbi, Colonel Ariyo and Bode Olowoporoku, as Awolowo was talking, for the first time in his life we were heckling the man, we were shouting no, no, no, no and the man looked to Ambrose Alli on the left and Jakande on the right and he said, 'what is happening, Aluko what am I hearing? I am in the wrong place, I am in the wrong party with the wrong people!' It was unbelievable that people can heckle him while talking, that people can shout, no we will not agree, we will do what we want to do!

Jakande said baba, let's adjourn this meeting, so the meeting was adjourned and overnight they tried to talk to us and we came back and maintained our stand that a House of Assembly under the constitution then must fix salary for public officers and we will not take dictations from anybody. So, I didn't like the way they were doing things personally and that is why I kept away from their meetings.

Son kidnaps father over N10m cheque

by Tunde Odesola, Osogbo

A 30-year-old living with sickle cell, Taiwo Oluwabiyi, has kidnapped his father, Mr Abiodun Oluwabiyi, after he saw a cheque of N10m signed in the latter's name.
The lawyer, who appeared for the suspect, Mr. Niyi Kosole, told the Osogbo magistrate's court presided over by Mr. Olelekan Ijiyode that Taiwo kidnapped his father after he saw a cheque of N10m written in his father's name.

Kosole, who applied for Taiwo's bail, told the court that the suspect was living with sickle cell anemia and had been remanded in custody since February, 2012.

According to the charge sheet obtained on Friday, Taiwo and some other suspects, who are currently at large, stormed the residence of Oluwabiyi in Orafidodo Street, Fajuyi area of Ile-Ife on February 19.

The suspects, who bore guns, machetes and a liquid substance suspected to be acid, kidnapped their victim and drove him to an unknown destination.

They were also accused of robbing Oluwabiyi of a Mercedes Benz car with number plate PA 90 KJA - worth N1.5m and two Nokia phones.

The lawyer said the suspect's father was willing to withdraw the charge against his son.

Oluwabiyi told the court that he was willing and ready to discontinue with the case.

But the magistrate turned down the application of the victim, saying the course of justice must not be perverted over sentiments.

Ijiyode recalled that the victim was the one that called the police to investigate the matter.

He said, “If a child could gather hoodlums and proceed to attack his father, then he should be ready to face the wrath of the law.”

Subsequently, Ijiyode remanded the suspect and adjourned the case till May 10, 2012 for mention.

Finally, this woman should shut the F***K up and stop trying to be another hero. We (Ndigbo) do not need another efulefu in the mold of ZIK that think nigeria is that too important to fail/crumble. My advice to this woman is to maintain silence while the country is being ruined by all, but at thesame time she should secretely help in advising the SE governors on the essential need to be prudent and deliver the best services they can for their people.

Good, I support the governors. They should continue looting and sharing the money until the dungeon called nigeria is completely buried. As a die hard Biafranist, I welcome every move (even by my enemy) to run the country aground. I can see the sun starting to rise as time goes bye. *Tick*Tock*Tock cool

TO DISINTEGRATE THE DUNGEON CALLED NIGERIA IS TASK THAT MUST BE DONE IN THE INTEREST OF THE BLACK RACE cool.

Negro_Ntns: Kilode,

As you know, fulani exist across the West African belt. . . but so is Hausa and Yoruba. It is only Nigeria that fulani has this exclusive command of elitism and it is because we were not throughly educated in the different cultures of our own country, instead we were instructed in the British and European histories and so on. Our own cultures remained a mystery to us, only told through the mundane realities of daily interaction. Unfortunately, our reality of fulani is that of a turbulently violent people. Miyetti Allah helps to push and further enshrine that reality in the Nigerian conscience, which undoubtedly their ruling elites subsist on to maintain power.

The middlebelterss have always been the swell of military personnell, so how did the minority fulani end up being
Kilode?!:
Nigeria has been great for the Fulanis especially, I can't think of any African country where the Fulani, despite his minority population command the kind of influence he commands in Nigeria.

Uthman Dan Fodio must be proud. Not sure it will last, events of the last few years should make them worry.

It shouldn't matter though, if we can build our country on the foundation of justice and egalitarianism, it won't matter if you have 20 or 20 million fulas.
the top echelon and commanders of military force in the Army, Air Force and even to a extent displacing Southerners in Navy posts? It is a wonder!!
In order to truely understand why the hausa/fulani continue to enjoy power till this day in nigeria, y'all need to take things back to 1967-1970. After Jan 1970, they (hausa/fulani) basically became the main power behind the throne. I know you will disagree, but if you approach this with open mind, the truth/answer will not be far fetched.

Negro_Ntns: First, haka_nai, I need you to identify your ethnicity. Which group in North do you belong, if at all you are a northerner?

This post is no hatred or pushing for a division. . . .you are already divided! I am only bringing awareness to the Southerners that still think you are together as one. Your rulership is dead and buried with Umar Yaradua!
@ the bolded, I say Spot on! Negro_Ntns, you are becoming one smart dude and I'm beginning to like the new you cool.
PoliticsRe: A Video Of Awo, Zik And Amadu Bello Election Campaign: Why Is Nigeria Still one? by alex14(op): 8:32pm On Apr 04, 2012
From watching and paying VERY CLOSE attention to the utterances of Ahmadu Bello, I can confirm now that the entire southern nigeria will everly remain doomed. In the interview with the sardana, he (Bello) exhibited a form of arrogance and "flawless" confidence that the prime minister must be a northerner. I see the exact same arrogance being displayed today by northern politicians/parasites like El rufai and Sanusi Lamido et.al.

According to Awolowo's revelation, northern politicians did not take delight in having non-northerners campaign for votes in the north. He (Awolowo) knew nigeria was not one and can never be one,,,,why then did this man fought for/supported one nigeria.

Zik's version of the interview revealed that the corpse of this animal should be exhumed and be fed to the vultures. This thing remains the greatest mishap to ever befall the Igbo nation. If Ndigbo do not blot out the memory of this man from our ancestral land and records, "efulefuism" shall continue unabated in Igboland. They say the enemy you know is better that the one you don't know. Zik was an enemy to Ndigbo interms of how to safely navigate the dungeon called nigeria. His naive nationalism is still echoeing in Igboland today as Igbos still see the whole of nigeria as their "father" land as opposed to just seeing their ANCESTRAL land as such.

In conclusion: I SAY SHAME ON AWOLOWO AND (ZIK) X1000000nth degree. They failed the south.
