It was indeed an exciting moments for the winners of #DrawBigChurchChallenge as they were presented with their rewards and prizes few days ago in Lagos. The presentation of Cheques and the selected artworks frames followed an exclusive dinner reception with the team of Big Church Foundation and finalists.  

The first winner, the younger sister of ex-bbnaija housemate Tboss, @miss_goldilocks and two others @leye_moses, @kelionarts got $1000, $600, $400 respectively. Other 5 participants who were compensated for their creativity were given $200 each as they presented their artworks. 

Though, the Chairman Of Big Church Foundation‎, Dr. Olakunle Churchill was unavoidably indisposed as he was said to be out of the country. In his Words as posted on his page "I' m truly sorry I could not attend in person as am currently not in the country but I\'m sur I was well represented by Mr Jide and @Yebowale. Our attention has been drawn to an article by Punch and the Nation on the 11th of October 2017, alleging that EFCC has traced N2.1bn to the account of Patience’s dead mother, these allegations are spurious, baseless and intended to mislead the public.

We wish to state categorically that, the allegations are false and a grand design by EFCC to tarnish the image of the former first lady, Mrs Patience Jonathan. In their concocted report they claimed that the former first lady is a sole signatory of Magel resort LTD, a Hotel owned by her late mum, Mama Charity Oba. This is untrue as the former first lady had no dealings with the Hotel until the demise of her late mum after which the Hotel was handed over to her with the presentation of the death certificate of her mum. This can be confirmed by Zenith Bank. Mrs Patience Jonathan does not own Magel Resort LTD neither did she open the Hotels account with Zenith Bank. The late mother of the former first lady should be allowed to rest in peace.

It was also alleged that N200m IT contract was awarded to Magel Resort LTD, this is a figment of the imagination of EFCC as no such contracts was awarded to the company, EFCC must stop this media trial and blackmail aimed at tarnishing the image of the former first Lady and get down to the business of conducting proper investigations. Magel Resort LTD is a very successful company with over 2000 staff, this is as a result of the hard work and relentless man hours put into it by the late mum of the former first lady who built the company from scratch. It is preposterous to say the least that N2.1bn in its coffers as alleged by EFCC was fraudulently acquired.

The EFCC also alleges that N17bn has been traced to the former first lady, we believe this joke by the EFCC has been taken too far , as there is no available evidence to support this baseless claim. To prove her innocence the former first lady has filed N2bn fundamental human rights suit against the EFCC at the Federal High Court in Abuja. For avoidance of doubt Mrs Patience Jonathan does not have $12,831,173. domiciled in Diamond bank as alleged by EFCC, anyone with proof should provide evidence and take advantage of the whistle blower policy, the issue of Skye Bank is in court and we believe in the integrity of the court to handle this case judiciously.

A simple search at the Coperate Affairs Commission will confirm that the companies mentioned by EFCC, AM PM Global Network LTD, Pagmat Oil and Gas Limited, Flinchley Top Homes Limited do not belong to the former first lady, she is not a signatory in any of these companies, it is illegal for EFCC to continually freeze those accounts without any court order for almost 2 years, the EFCC must abide by the same law it intends to uphold.

The former first lady has never had any dealing with Bureau de Change operators and anyone with counter claims should come out with proof, we want to believe the reporters of Punch and the Nation are biased as they have failed in conducting proper investigative journalism before making such stories up.

The A. Aruera Reachout Foundation is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established in 2006 by Dame Patience Faka Jonathan, the Former First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Foundation has a medical unit which sponsors the treatment and surgery of children and some adults with heart conditions. The Foundation conducts Children’s Clinics periodically to diagnose the condition of each child needing assistance. During these clinics, Consultant Paediatric Cardiologists from the National Hospital Abuja, the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital and the Apollo Hospital Chinnai, India evaluate the health condition of the children.

To date, over 700 children have benefited from the A. Aruera Reachout Foundation, this alone cost the foundation billions, it is not news that the logistics involved in the treatment of heart disease cost over N5million per child. This demonstrates the caring and maternal nature of Nigeria’s Former First Lady. God has used her as an instrument to positively touch the lives of some of our nation’s sick children, to make them healthy and happy through the appropriate medical intervention, it is now strange and sad that the EFCC will allege that such foundation only existed to launder funds. The many sick children that would have died but now live a happy life will stand as testament against the baseless propaganda and shameless allegation of the EFCC. It is worthy of note that the foundation which is duly registered by the CAC is free to receive donations from reputable individuals and organisations for its projects just like any other NGO.

A. Aruera Reachout Foundation has never been involved in financial crimes or money laundry of any form, all directors of the NGO are men and women of integrity, highly competent and astute professionals, it is therefore untrue that the former first lady had her domestic servants as directors of the NGO.


We understand that the EFCC is desperate to distract Nigerians from the current massive corruption bedevilling the nation, and as such has embarked on propaganda using the name of the former first Lady, this is callous and must stop, if the EFCC has such evidence they should present it to the Senate and house of representatives, one wonders why the EFCC has repeatedly refused to honour the invitation of the House of Representatives and the Senate, to state their case.

It was a gathering of who-is-who recently, in Lagos, for the official launch of The Entrepreneur Africa Magazine (TEAM), and Team Africa Awards. The monthly magazine, which has become one of Africa’s top business/entrepreneurship magazine within less than six months of its first release in May, 2017, gathered top CEOs and captains of industries at the Virginrose Resorts, Victoria Island, Lagos on September 30, to celebrate entrepreneurship and the people changing Africa through it. A fresh graduate of Anambra state University Nnamdi Ikemefuna who established a NADIS Scholarship scheme aimed at empowering best students in some Institutions has revealed that Nigeria's popular philanthropist Dr. Olakunle Churchill is his motivation towards the project. He disclosed this during his graduation ceremony speech as the immediate past ‎President Of Nigeria Universities Science Students Association recently and also posted on his facebook page.

Nnamdi popularly known as Nadis said that he fell in love with the philanthropic activities of Olakunle Churchill ‎and his passion for education across the country with particular reference to the scholarships offered to selected students of University of Abuja in 2015 and recently in Ondo state. According to the former national science leader " it gladdens my heart to see and hear the good works of Big Church Foundation and his interest in education, it was a great joy getting to meet him recently and I must confess that Dr. Churchill was the motivation to the finding of NADIS Scholarship scheme... thank you boss for the inspiration"

Over 100 students have benefited from the Scholarship scheme which is held twice every year with the support of partners. The last programme was held at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University ( Anambra State University) on the 4th Of May, 2017 with the preparation at advanced stage for the hosting of November edition as academic screening‎ exercise across schools to begin soon. 

 The 23 Year old philanthropist and Computer Science graduate from Anambra state is also an embedded programmer and drone expert. The scholarship project has always had the support of the late Odumegwu Ojukwu family and his team are in talks with Imo State Government for a possible partnership for the coming event.

STATE OF THE NATION:  NOA CALLS FOR PEACE, TOLERANCE AND CAUTION
 
Concerned by the rising tensions in the country, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has appealed for peace, love and tolerance to stem the ugly tide while also urging moral authorities in the land to rise up and caution their followers in the exercise of their sacred duty to our communities.
 
Director General of the Agency, Dr. Garba Abari in a message to the nation following reports of unrests in parts of the country called for calm and restraint on the part of the citizens, urging the youths especially not to allow themselves be used as canon fodders to stoke the fires of unrest. He said Nigeria was going through trying moments and the youths must not allow unscrupulous elements take advantage of their youthful energies to foment trouble.
 
Abari called on traditional and religious leaders to rise up to the occasion by using their positions to preach love, peace and tolerance while urging parents, especially mothers, to rein in on their children and keep them away from mischief makers.
 
The Agency also appealed to social media users to scrutinize all messages on the current situation in the country to ensure that hate speeches and fake news are not given credence.
 
In his words: “The media, both traditional and social, are hereby called upon to exercise its sacred duty of promoting only that which unites us as a country. It is in moments like this that the patriotic energy of the media is tested as one of the institutions for nation building.”
 
The Director General further reminded political leaders of their responsibility to ensure the security of lives and properties in their areas of authority.

Transformation is a proof of positive change, and the emergence of Mr. Tony Nwoye as the flag bearer of All People's Party (APC) is a sign of hope, progressive development, socio-political reformation and socio-economic resuscitation in Anambra State. 
Considering the erudite nature of Mr. Tony Nwoye, his relationship with the grassroot and his creative perspective on developmental programs for the state, it is obvious that Anambra State might have eventually seen the light at end of its tunnel of struggles. 

However, the Flag bearer of APC is one person who is adept for initiating and managing programs that bothers on morals and social reformation; a basic problem in Anambra state. 
Moreover, the state have been through series of problems that relates to social policy and social actions. Mr. Tony Nwoye is committed to the reformation of social policies and actions which includes housing schemes, crime and poverty in the state. He told Anambrians that if he is given the mantle of leadership as the Governor of the state, he would stop at nothing to combat the challenges of housing, crime and poverty through a visionary strategy which he has nurtured over years.
He says "I have developed series of strategic programs that when initiated will help torpedo the basic challenges in Anambra state". 

The young politician who just turned 42years has also challenged youths in the state, saying that the youths in Anambra must be proactive and innovative; they should engage in the development of strategic programs that will help accelerate the growth and development of the state. The 2017 gubernatorial aspirant under the APC umbrella said that his government will be opened to creative ideas from youths and institutions that are concerned in alleviating the challenges which the state is facing. The Governor to be said that these strategies will help secure a soft landing for employment opportunities in the state as it will also promote the availability of vocational and technical skills that are lucrative for graduates and unemployed youths.

Also, Dr. Tony identified his anticipated mission to resuscitate the economy of the state. He spoke about his plans to improve the economy through the integration of trade relationships with foreign agencies and investors, thereby accelerating the industrial growth and advancement of the state. He also commented on the need to improve the exportation of locally made products so as to boost the economy and income of Anambra state. The bold and intellectual leader also assured Anambrians that his government will not underscore the efforts of small scale enterprises, instead it's government will encourage SMEs through loans, incentives etc. 

The visionary leader and an astute politician also reviewed the issues facing the educational sector of the state; he then said his government will do everything in its capacity to promote education in the state by improving the welfare of teachers as well as facilities in local schools so as to advance the content of education in Anambra state.

We however look forward to the victory of Hon.Tony Nwoye at the forth coming Anambra gubernatorial elections and we also look forward to the fundamental prospects which his government will unveil. We have no doubt that his capabilities will pilot the affairs of Anambra state through progressive excellence.
