Following the postponement of the February general elections, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari had an interview with Aljazeera yesterday, February 8.During the interview, Buhari talked about the postponed elections, corruption in Nigeria, Boko Haram and a whole lot.Asked his reaction to the shift in the elections date by six weeks, the former Head of state he was extremely disappointed.Buhari made a mistake when he referred to INEC as the Independent Nigerian Electoral Commission.

He said: "My reaction is that of extreme disappointment because at the National council of State, the chairman of INEC, the Independent Nigerian Electoral Commission gave a detailed brief of their activities from 2011, that's from the last election. He said they are ready to hold the election."Buhari explained that the Nigerian military cannot win the war against insurgency because the government is not ready to fight Boko Haram.When asked that nobody has come out to endorse him as the right and perfect man to be the president of Nigeria, he replied:He said: "If people don't like Buhari's face for what he did as a military Head of State, let them join the ruling party or any of the other mushroom parties and vote against him and convince his constituency to vote against me."Buhari also made a major slip during the interview when he referred to his party as the "All Progressives Confidence".Asked about accusations that he is only popular in the North and not respecting the diversity of Nigeria, he said:"The merger we have been able to consolidate of All Progressives Confidence I think ought to disabuse the minds of those skeptics because this comprises of the main opposition parties which came from across the whole country and has succeeded now to be recognized here and abroad and is a real counter force to the ruling part."So the question of I not being accepted in some parts of the country has been disproved by how I win my party's nomination as presidential candidate…"

Celebrated beauty queens in the eastern part of the country recently engaged in a rather dramatic and stylish photo shoots in Enugu state. The shoot was singularly put together to promote unity, beauty of tourism and modelling vocation.

This all important and rare display of unity in pageantry is packaged by Mr Darlington Ajaero, the South East Cordinator of Association Of Beauty Pageant and Fashion Exhibition Of Nigeria (ABPFEON).

The paragons of beauty who dazzled in the photo shoot in choice locations in Enugu state are Queen Stephanie Ebere Onuoha (Miss Coal City Nigeria) Queen Samantha Ubani (Miss Imo State Queen) and Queen Chisom Ojukwu (Most Beautiful Facee In Anambra). The reigning state queens expressed so much excitement in this beautiful experience at the exercise which also involved special hosting and reception by some clubs in the Coal city State.

‎As the countdown continues to the general election, the popular Nigerian twins and musicians have taken the Goodluck Jonathan campaign to the riverine areas in Lagos.

The MamuZEE twins who staged a press conference recently in Abuja to resist any calculated attempts by INEC to disenfranchise Nigerian twins led veteran Nollywood actors to riverine areas to drum support for Mr President. The riverine areas in Lagos have not witnessed any political campaign due to their geographical location and the risk of crossing the large rivers with boats to canvass for votes.

Known for their doggedness and never say die attitude, the hard fighting identical twins embarked on the continuity campaign with colourful outfits and branded PDP T-shirts. It was indeed an interesting and successful outing as the residents received them and the other Nollywood actors with so much excitement and massive turnout.

Another uniqueness of the riverine campaign movement was the use of national flag with Jonathan's picture unlike the usual PDP umbrella. This did not only arrest attention but also attracted so much affection from the electorates who followed them around to have a feel of their veteran stars and iconic artists who they only see on televisions.

As at writing this report, the mamuZEE twins are already preparing to embark on other unusual areas to spread the transformation messages of Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Arch, Namadi Sambo.

Amb Kingsley Amafibe, the CEO Peace Ambassador agency has called on all Deltans to support Sen Ifeany Okowa, the PDP Governorship aspirant at the coming polls.

We were truly impressed to see the massive turnout (Over 120 delegates) of pageant and fashion practitioners who give in their time and sacrifice their pleasure to ensure a successful and one of the most credible organisational election.

Words would not be enough to thank the Election committee who staged not only credible election but a highly professional one at that. Yes, we need to recommend the committee to INEC.{smiles}

 The pageant producers who could not turn up for the election, you missed but be assured that we are together in this move for a united pageant and fashion exhibition industry. 

For the opponent in the election struggle for a better leadership, we acknowledge you strength. We were truly challenged to have competitors that put us on the edge of out seats. Our victory is for us all, let's take it with the spirit of sportsmanship.

This is one of the most shocking reports we are receiving this year. In the past, stories of human turning into yam had been reported but that was days when the social media had not assumed such prominence as it has now.

History was made yesterday in the Nigeria's sporting sector as a new form of sport
was introduced with the inauguration of its board members and ex-officio special council.

The very unique activity, Nigeria Water Ski and Wakeboard Sport was introduced by famous TV personality and multi-award winner Amb. Rachel Bakam, a producer and presenter of a highly rated tv programs Trends and Rachel.
She attracted this laudable project to Nigeria with the influence of Mr Uwe Goldstein, the world Chairman Cable Water ski and Wakeboard Development Commitee

The inauguration ceremony which was held at the media hall of the national stadium, Abuja attracted several personalities and high profile media organizations. The event was hosted by the Honourable Minister of Sports and Chairman National Sports Council, Dr Tamuno W. Danagogo, a man who saddled the belief/passion in this vision on his shoulder inaugurated the interim board members and ex-officio council saddled with the responsibility to champion the grassroot development and technical orientation of the new sport in Nigeria

The minister Dr. Danagogo while speaking expressed his happiness for the development and ascribed it as the desire of the Federal government to ensure that Nigeria is a multi-sporting nation beside the football that all are use to. He further stressed that "the focus of the ministry of sport is to see how to make sport a way of life in Nigeria" and that the government through his office is doing everything possible to open the sporting industry in Nigeria, and to achieve this, his administration is working to ensure that the recommendation of the national sport summit held in 2014 is to encourage private Nigerians to develop interest in sport activities and working tirelessly to achieve Mr. President's aspiration, which is to transform Nigeria sport industry by engaging all hands on deck. He congratulated the new board and ensured them of confirming them as members of National Olympic committee and Nation sports commission after undergoing some processes.

The President of the newly established Nigerian Water Ski and Wakeboard Federation, Amb. Rachel Bakam commended the minister for his simplicity and warm reception during their first meeting over the project, and reiterated her commitment to make this project a success in Nigeria as well as establish avenue for sponsors and investors to key into this sport project that will give a lot of Nigerian youths overwhelming opportunities for national honours and international recognitions.

It was indeed sad moment of sober reflective mood and unbearable tears as Abuja entertainers converge in their numbers to pay their last respect to their friend, colleague, beauty queen, sister and beloved one -Late Esther Kanu who passed away at the age of 24.

The candle memorial and procession recorded massive turnout of different classes of showbiz personalities who appeared in their celestial endowment. It was an atmosphere of pain and mixed feelings as individuals come out to pay their tributes, recalling their last moments with her and all they shared together.

A new report detailing how Muna Obiekwe actually died has surfaced online.


In a chat with ICampus, actress Vera Kanu who was a mother figure to the late actor, disclosed that he discovered his kidney problem a long time ago but like most people, he thought he could manage it.

According to her, he ignored the pain and continued working without paying much attention. He only took his drugs and medication once in a while as 'Muna never believed the ailment could lead to his death. He believed he would survive it like he did the gunshot and death of his parents. He was not a man given to worrying about things. He believed it was not a coincidence his parents named him Munachimso, a name which means God is walking with me.'
The kidney problem persisted and Muna was eventually forced to seek the help of a doctor in a Lagos. The doctor gave him a ray of hope. He assured Muna that his worst fear of Kidney transplant might not happen if only he could do up to 20 dialyses.

"I was with him to the last hour. He was to do up to 20 dialyses; the doctor said if the dialysis improved his condition, the worse would certainly be over. He will be okay only if he stays away from alcohol but you know our artiste," she concluded.

Another source told the online news portal that "the dialysis was expensive for Muna. He was doing two in a week sometimes. And he would need blood injection on each occasion. Each appointment was costing him between N250, 000 to N300, 000; money he did not really have to spend. His health was eating deep into his purse yet Muna refused to go cap in hand begging for alms. He was a private guy who didn't want the press or his colleagues to feast on his pain, and cast aspersions on Nollywood's industry of beggars'.

Vera, his godmother corroborated the point. "He was managing it on his own. As a matter of fact, he has been managing it for a while until Ejiro Okurame and I came on board to help. We were combining resources to help him but there was very little we could do to save him. We had to enlist the help of Patience Ozokwor and Kanayo O. Kanayo (KOK) at a point. They rendered the help they could until he died.
"The guy was private. He kept to himself a lot and most importantly, kept his private life private; for instance, many people did not even know he was married with two children. Such was his life. He didn't want press or his colleagues to start prying. He was particularly afraid of the press, hence his shutting his colleagues out of his pain. He knew if some Nollywood people got to know about it, the press would also get to know. He refused to beg to save Nollywood's image, he in-turn, lost himself."

Further more, it was reported that he was a chain smoker and heavy drinker. Despite his condition, it was revealed he was still consuming alcohol on a regular basis.
"Everybody in the industry knows Muna drinks a lot; even when he's shooting in the North, he has a way of finding alcohol. He fell into it, after he lost his parents in a ghastly motor accident. 'As a matter of fact, he was supposed to be in that car with them but by stroke of luck, he wasn't and was spared.

Afterwards, Muna took solace in liquor but that never affected his job. He was just like Sam Loco; he could drink the whole sea but when he hears the director shout 'action,' he gets into character. Muna was a method character despite his flaws'' a source tod the online portal.

Speaking on the drinking habit despite his ailment, his godmother, Vera Kanu said 'It's not like he drinks heavily like you guys said. He drank but not as you are putting it. Muna even called me during the holiday that he is now okay and ready to work so I should start bringing jobs because I was his producer. I told him thank God and that I would start as long as he does not do what the doctor told him not to do, which was drinking. The problem came back and he has been on it since then till he died."
