Nigeria's first ever Queen Of Peace Africa, Debbie Douglas has released rare photos of herself ahead of her birthday celebration billed to hold in Abuja this weekend.

The soft-spoken and highly reserved beauty Queen who has been at the forefront of promoting peace through the messengers of Peace networks in different African countries was crowned last year in Abuja where she defeated about 24 contestants from 24 African nations

Queen Debbie Douglas is not new in the business of modeling before her ultimate peace assignment as she started from the age of 6 years and today she had done some adverts and hit international runway shows including Abuja International Fashion show. She has also adorn front pages of notable magazines.

The Cross River state born model turned beauty queen delved into pageantry with little hopes but hit the goldmine with her first attempt. According to her ‎ "My sister thought pageant would be much more better for me so I decided to give it a try and contested for my first pageant and turned out to be the winner‎"‎ .

She is one of the very few beauty queens who have graced high profile events and promoted peace through different projects and campaigns

As the countdown continues for the grand finale of the peace pageant with forms already selling, 36 contestants are expected to slog it out on stage where the winner of the Queen of Peace Nigeria represent Nigeria in Namibia for the Finals of the Queen of Peace Africa in October 2nd

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Dr. Sade Yemi-Esan, on Tuesday said the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation has succeeded in stopping the signal of Radio Biafra because it was not licensed.

Yemi-Esan disclosed this to State House correspondents shortly after briefing President Muhammadu Buhari of her ministry's activities inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

She said the commission was currently working with security agencies to apprehend those behind the illegal radio.

She said, "We also gave a report on Radio Biafra. Right now, the signals from the radio have been jammed successfully by the NBC. The commission is also working with security agencies to get those that are behind that radio because it is an illegal radio. It is not licensed by anybody to be on the airwaves in Nigeria."

She added that the President had directed her ministry to put machinery in place to end the scourge of piracy in the nation's movie industry.

She said the President gave a clear directive that the ministry must work hard to ensure that film producers get what is due to them. "The President raised concerns about piracy in Nollywood and he has instructed us to work harder to ensure that the producers of Nollywood films get what is due to them and that we reduce piracy to the barest minimum," she said.

She added that the President frowned at some media houses that are in the habit of owing salaries.

She said Buhari saw the development as not too good for the country.

She said, "I think it was last week that one of the newspapers was shut down because of non-payment of salaries. I think that should not be heard of in a country like Nigeria.

"Mr. President frowns on things like that, the welfare of every Nigerian, especially journalists is one of the major concerns that we have."

The Permanent Secretary said the President wanted the ministry to intensify publicity because of his desire that every Nigerian should know about policies and programmes of his government.

She said they also talked about external publicity and the possibility of re-opening the federal information services abroad

A Nigerian Beauty, Queen Chichi Adamma Mbagwu made Nigeria and Africa proud as she bags 1st Class honours in Accountancy from University of Brighton in United Kingdom recently.

The 22 year old British Nigerian graduate emerged as Face of Unity Nigeria in a keenly contested pageant held In Enugu state, the south-eastern part of Nigeria in 2013.

It is quite amazing to know that Chichi Mbagwu was born in Enugu state but left the country when she was just 7 months old and coincidentally returned to the state almost 20 years later to be crowned as Face Of Unity Nigeria Queen. In all holiness, the Imo state born, who came out with excellent distinction from the University of Brighton United Kingdom has so far exhibited the strength of an
African Queen and have shown how unique she is amongst many.

Right from her formative years, she has been outstanding both in academic and social activities. She attended Ponsbourne St Marys Primary Cchool and St Edmund's Private College, both in Herefordshire UK, where her academic brilliance had been a frame of reference. 

Her mother Ndidi Mbagwu could not hide her joy over the outcome of the only daughter's performance in school. In her words " am truly surprised and ofcourse proud of her, it's indeed a commendable feat"

The Most Beautiful Model In Nigeria and African Designers concert was a choreographed show which showcased latest creative fashion concepts recorded impressive turnout with about 25 models who represented different states hit the runway.

The 20-year-old Jennifer from Anambra State was crowned Most Beautiful Model In Nigeria while Sandra Bassey from Akwa Ibom emerged Most Beautiful Model In Nigeria International. Other winners are Osasa Ogunbor - Most Beautiful Model In Nigeria Fashion; Osato Ogunbor - Most Beautiful Model In Nigeria Ambassador, Ezinne Miracle Azuaru - MBMN Top Model and Victoria -Face of Amity Global Network.

The queens who were led by the director, Amb. Kingsley Amafibe stated that they decided to visit the disable community to celebrate with them especially as they have had a long outstanding relationship.

Children's day celebration at the community located at the outskirts of Abuja city was indeed a memorable one for the kids, the parents and the Miss Ambassador for Peace team.
