Famous Nollywood and Gollywood Actress, Juliet Ibrahim has visited Abuja ahead of the meet and greet engagements for the Abuja-Launch occasion of her book, titled "A Toast To Life". She was received by her PR Expert, Alex Nwankwo, as she was engaged in several appointments and appearances with reputable personalities and high profile events respectively in the FCT.

He also noted that the event will also witness some educative presentations and performance that chronicles the history and challenges of Nigeria through its 59years in democracy. He appreciated the efforts of partnering organizations, especially the media, for their earnest efforts towards the forthcoming epoch event. However, the occasion will commence with the red carpet shoots at 6:00pm, while the main event will officially kickstart at 8:00pm on wednesday, 16th October.

The 8th Edition of Miss Ambassador for Peace Africa Pageant/Peace Achievers Awards held on the 21st of September, 2019 at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja and it was a night of glamour as anticipated. The merit-driven award event which is organized by Peace Ambassador Agency to commemorate the United Nations World Peace Day has become one of the biggest gatherings of influential personalities in Africa.

Former Governor of Sokoto State, Dr Attahiru Bafarawa, Hon. Hadi Tambuwal, Senator Dino Melaye and Hon. Shina Peller were some of the big winners on the night bagging the awards for Icon of Peace and nation building, Peace builder/Award for excellence in community development, Peace builder/Award for excellence in community development and leadership skills respectively.

Other notable award recipients include Hon. Dr. Prince Ned Nwoko, Amb. Mike Ayapaye, Oba Saheed Elegushi, Kusenla III, Seyi Adekunle, Barr. According to Amb. Kingsley Amafibe, the Chairman, planning committee, the award recognizes individuals that have contributed immensely to nation building, through peace related programmes and advocacy, job creation and entrepreneurship. "They were honoured for their leadership roles and selfless service in peace building and commitment to programmes that promote peace, youth and economic development" he said.

The award categories covered a vast range of sectors to prove the organizations promise on rewarding individuals from different walks of life. There were categories for excellence in youth empowerment, award for outstanding leadership in public sector governance, award for innovation and technology, award for NGO of the year to name a few.

The Peace Achievers Award is held annually alongside the Miss Ambassador for Peace pageant since its inception in 2012. A 25 year old Accounting graduate, Miss Blessing Ikponmwosa, emerged winner of the 2019 edition of the Miss Ambassador for Peace Africa pageant out of 25 contestants. In her speech, Ikponmwosa pledged to be committed to campaigning effectively for Nigerians’ peaceful co-existence as well as security in Africa. “I really want to use this opportunity to contribute my quota to building a peaceful society for all. I will work hard in line with the organisation’s objective to promote tribal and religious tolerance among Nigerians."

An element that made this year's event different from previous editions was the inclusion of an elaborate fashion runway and exhibition which featured several fashion brands and models. It was also a night of good music and comedy. Popular R'n'B group, Styl Plus took the audience down memory lane as they dished out their classical hits to the excitement of the audience. That set the tone for more fun as MC Bob, Shotcut, Funny Bone and Akpororo thrilled the audience to scintillating stand-up performances.

The 2019 edition of the Miss Ambassador For Peace Africa Pageant/Peace Achievers Awards certainly lived up to expectation in many ways than one.

Chinwe Chibuike Foundation, Abia First Lady Flag-Off Free Eye Care Service In Umuahia with Over 1000 Beneficiaries (Photos)

Chinwe Chibuike Foundation, a non-governmental Institution headquartered in United States of America, has collaborated with Office of the Wife of Abia State Governor, to flag-off the "Free Medical Eyecare Service", For Women in Abia State. The exercise was carried out at Umuahia in the state government house few weeks ago.

The campaign initiated by Chinwe Chibuike Foundation is focused on improving eyecare, through consistent intervention aides which may seem too expensive for a few to afford. According to the Founder and President, Queen Chinwe Chibuike, she humbly noted that more intervention exercises will be initiated to shortchange the outbreaks of eye-related illnesses across rural communities in Nigeria.

The campaign witnessed the distribution of eye enhancement tools, drugs and medicated glasses to participants of the eyecare exercise. The program according the Project Director will be continued with more develoment partnership with local and international agencies.

Before now the Foundation has already initiated and commenced several other healthcare projects and campaigns in Abia State. In Umuahia recently, the foundation held a free Malaria Treatment Exercise, where residents across 41local governments were tested, treated and administered relevant medications for their healings.

The Chinwe Chibuike Foundation has fiercely engaged the war against malaria and other life threatening illnesses in Nigeria and across the world. Several beneficiaries of her life-changing projects have appreciated the efforts of Queen Chinwe Chibuike and her foundation, hoping that the continued willingness to impact lives will remain rekindled in her benevolent heart.
