AKASBABA1:

We initially thought it was a mistake or automated, so we called, and they said they would send a decision record. It has been one week now, and the applicant was supposed to do biometrics today. The flight, hotel, and everything were planned and paid for, but she has returned to school (university) today.

This is the first time we have had such an experience with Australian immigration. It highlights one of the negative aspects of applying for a visa from offshore. If it were here, we could have applied for a tribunal.

Omo. Hopefully she gets a mail soon.

The most recent student application we submitted received a final decision before the medical and biometric processes, yet we haven't received a decision record to date.

Wait. What?. Seems automated. Did you try to contact them?

Was in police HQ for like 3 hours today, but I couldn’t even do the biometric capture as they said I needed to receive a text message to come for biometrics.

Despite all the push, I didn’t get a text message till I left there.
Surprisingly, I got an Approval message and I found out now that I was able to download the certificate online.

Without capturing….

Foreign Affairs / Re: Argentina VP Kirchner Sentenced To Six Years Jail Term Over Fraud by Alexyswiss(m): 1:15pm On Dec 07, 2022
This can actually happen in Nigeria. People don't read just saw headlines and jump to start saying "if it is Nigeria..."

Its a political witch hunt, happens in Nigeria always. Its like saying ruling party sending Atiku who is a VP to jail for corruption.

And for saying immunity read again. They can take her to jail now because she is the current senate president of Argentina. But she can't contest an election again.
Travel / Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Alexyswiss(m): 12:15pm On Dec 07, 2022
Rules is rules, did you read the fees and charges policy?

They can only refund to the country which you paid from.

gsalvatore:
Please I need advice..
I applied for a refund of tuition and gave them an Australian bank account to send the tuition so I can reapply for another school with it.

The school is telling me now that they can't payback the tuition to any Australian acc, that I will have to provide an account that is in the country I'm applying from, which is Nigeria.

I don't want the tuition to be sent back because the will use CBN rates to send it which will obviously affect the value.

Has anyone been in this situation? Please experienced folks should help me out here..

Just go ahead and apply.

Only thing here is i think when an agency gets alot of refusals, immi will start to do critical checks on visa applications from them.

My GTE is good. They applied last week of October.

My 2 cents is...

Go ahead and apply, everybody has their own situation/luck. You waiting for whatever how long you want to, won't change the fact that if you merit it you will get it or you will get it because you waited. And you applying now does not mean that because they refused theirs your too will be refused.

They probably didn't show enough GTE to qualify them. Is your case thesame?

And also please when did they apply and when were they denied.
Jemiimaa99:

Right now, I’m really confused on whether I should go ahead and lodge or I should wait because the ones that were denied, there was no reason given to them. It’s really confusing.

If you read the words on the link you shared it says "...on the online visa application form..". When filling your application for visa online there is a space to write a short GTE statement of 300 words. You cant pass it the limit. The rest characters begins to show red. Like twitter tweets when you pass character limit.

That is what it is referring to. Aside that one you fill online. Rule says you can attach a supporting statement. Thats the one that can be lengthy. No limit.

So I dont think they were denied because of that you cant even go further if you type above 300 words.
Jemiimaa99:
Hello,

I have a question please.

There’s this new rule on home affairs website concerning having SOP with just 300 words. I don’t know if anyone else has seen that. It’s been on the site for 2 weeks now.
My agents got 2 students visa denied and no reason was given so they don’t know if it’s because of the sop issue.

Is there anyone that is yet to lodge his/her visa because of the 300 word SOP policy?

Is there anyone that has heard of that issue please?
I attached the link here.

If its an NPC there is no issue, since it govt. With a notarize copy it won't raise doubt.

Zykore:

Yes @Alexyswiss
It is an NPC certificate issued since 2003.
Travel / Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Alexyswiss(m): 7:42pm On Dec 02, 2022
Shouldn't be a problem. tbh. The birth certificate is just to confirm name. Since you have your full name on your passport with date of birth corresponding and all other documents it won't be an issue.

Is it an NPC certificate?

Zykore:
Una well done oo...

Can someone suggest what to do pls.

My middle name on my birth certificate was abbreviated. Just the letter. However all my other official documents show my full name. No abbreviation.

Can I use this birth certificate for Australian student visa applicantion?
Travel / Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Alexyswiss(m): 7:00pm On Nov 30, 2022
I dont know if what you are saying that your agent said is true. But if it is, your agent knows nothing about visa lodgement.

Its even safer to apply wayyy ahead, you dont know how long your application will take.

Zykore:
How early can you lodge an Australian student visa application ?

Is 4 months to commencement date too early?

My agent says I must apply 3 months to commencement date.

Is this true?

Travel / Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Alexyswiss(m): 12:01pm On Nov 28, 2022
Where did you see minimum of 90days. That is old information. Their site says 147 days. But if you look at the breakdown its 50% of applications within that period. 25% were around 3 - 8 weeks.

afam4life:

You not right. Minimum of 90days (3months).

Those you saw that their visa application was attended to within 3weeks to 8weeks are once in a while, not frequently.

The best advice, is to submit your application on time, pray to God and be watchful.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why Is Being An Introvert Becoming An Extreme Sport In Nigeria by Alexyswiss(m): 5:21pm On Dec 29, 2020
soundOsonic:
I will answer you with this story.

You see being an introvert in a country such as Nigeria is truly as inconvenience as trying to move forward your underwears that finds its way in between your butt cheeks especially when you are in public.
Nigeria is a country whose slogan is "shine your eye" there is no room for luke warm state of Character or melancholic display. Everyone is as active as the houseflies in ikorodu, riding the current of the wind hapzardly rather than just moving in a straight line to get your destination.
In layman's term singing market women trying to market their merchandize, noisy bus attendant trying to call in more commuters, blaring horns heard from all four cardinals, strange voices emanating from loud speaker selling their herbals, shop owners trying to kidnap you by forcefully dragging you to their shops even though you are resisting softly, loud talkers in the restaurants, tale bearers in the office, and gossip flying of like Christmas jingles in an organization.
This is obviously the hyper active behavior shown by most Nigerians, and the introverted ones just have to forcefully blend into this madness, if not you will be consider as weak, inadequate.
As an introvert, I have partaking in conversation I have no interest in for the sake of moving along, I have acted and feign facial concern for matters that shouldn't my concerns. I have found myself in friendship that I just don't know how or when we became friends.
This is Nigeria, with a very noisy people, clingy people, people who don't just like minding their business, people who just want to feel along by all means. Fvck Nigeria

Bro consider a career in writing. I mean it.
