It is only in Nigeria that we adopt modern technology or practices without understanding how they work just so we can say we have this or that system and then ignore the system and revert to our anyhowness. Once you have checked in whether online or at the counter you have no business with the check in counter except you have luggage. You go straight to the boarding gate once your flight is called.

What is the point checking in online if you have to check in at the desk?

If a man has checked in online and arrived at the airport at 5:am but did not visit the counter because he had no reason to having checked in online, according to you and this full Achimugu, an airline has the right to bounce him?

It matters not whether I arrive at 5am or even 7am. So far as If I have checked in (whether online or at the counter) and my flight has not finished boarding, you cannot bounce me!

It is only when the departure gate closes and I do not show up at the boarding gate, that I can be declared a no show.

Up till fews yrs ago, that was actually the practice. At least for Abuja and MMA old terminal that I used.

Once you check in online, it's just to print out the b/pass in duplicate and take it straight to the boarding gate- and this can be few minutes to take off. Check-in counter is completely bypassed
