Now, a former Secretary of the Board has just confirmed that indeed there are some Certificates belonging to some Generals in the board, you're now here blabbing.

How are we sure you guys won't request for his Marriage Certificate if he displays his SSCE for the world to see. You guys are only weeping in advance for the outgoing President, Jonathan!

The NIgeria Military has 3 recruitment process, either through depot for non commissioned officers and privates, NDA for those with secondary school certificates or Direct short service commission for those with HND and BSc.

If Buhari said he attended Present day Barewa College amd the school has not denied that statement as a farce and the military acknowledged he was commissioned as a second lieutenant after he graduated from the NDA then it smack of illiteracy to even discuss this subject matter.

There is nothing to discuss about the topic like I said.

Brigadier Olaleye insisted that the claim in a major Nigerian newspaper, that the army could not locate Mr. Buhari’s record was untrue.

None of his training were self sponsored. They were professional training organised N paid for by the Nigeria Army with tax payers money.

To even bring the issue as a campaign topic smack of ignorance and stupidity by PDP. When all the trainings he attended were entirely for his command and staff duties as a soldier.

When the PDP has nothing to campaign with after 16years of bein in charge rather than this kind of dull gist then the citizenry should be worried.

A good party that have stay for 16years should be telling the populace what it has done over the years and why those development needs to be continued if it believe it has done creditably well.

i disagree with yu Alfa, the certificate issue is a matter of d nigerian constitution, therefore if buhari cannot produce his credentials and has equally lied to affidafid on oath, he will be disqualified according to inec laws. Nothing will happen except to yu,and yr people as yu think

You are either mischievous or ignorant. I pity whoever you are to think that Buhari who is a public officer educated here at home and abroad has no certificate. But come to think of it, if Buhari has no certificate this is definitely not the best time to raise it. PDP know too well that Buhari has a cert but are too sure that imbe like u will believe them and shout u throat out. If Buhari has no certificate PDP would never raise it as an issue at this stage knowing fully well that only a competent court of law can decide on that as a ground of petition before the electoral tribunal. Moreover it would have been a good ground for them and would have strategically kept mute on same untill after declaration of result.

Buhari’s academic qualifications to run for president in the February 14 election became an issue following the disclosure that he deposed to an affidavit informing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that his credentials were with the military secretary.

Speaking with the Saturday Tribune, on Friday, on the controversy trailing the discovery, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the controversy was an assault on the institution of the military.

He added that the insinuation that Buhari was without the requisite academic qualifications before rising to become a general in the army was an insult to the officers that had served the nation.

Mohammed wondered on the kind of politics that would make anyone to think that Buhari would rise to the apogee of his career before becoming the head of state, by being shielded by the system over the academic qualification that was needed for the special military trainings and qualifications he got.

According to him, “how can anyone say someone of General Buhari’s calibre didn’t have secondary school certificate after his career in the military? What kind of politics are we playing? What kind of signal are we sending? Whereas in the developed world, there are certain courses in the military such as staff college or command that are on the privilege of bachelor or masters. Now, if you are now making provocative comments about someone of the status of General Buhari over an issue that one way or the other would soon be sorted out, you are casting aspersions on the entire military and those who had given service to this nation. It shows the kind of politics some people are playing. This is unfortunate and sad.”
