egift: Did you pull that 1961 from you Fedora Hat? You TANiods are chasing shadows. Buhari will be President and Jonathan will be sent home to practice his Zoology in Bayelsa
The recommendation letter was dated/issued in 1961 according to the report.
I guess we'll get the full gist of the whole story by tomorrow, then I'll see what else you'll cook up in Buhari's defence, PRO.
barcanista: Buhari clearly said his credentials is with the Military board because it was the military that ransacked his residence and carted away with his properties in 1985. They should explain the whereabout of his documents. Thank God IBB is not dead yet. This will shut the doubting thomases mouth. They have seen letter of recommendation from his school principal... End of Chapter....
Next!!!!
Ok. So did the 'military board' also ransack his house in 1961 when he was still in secondary school?
Kontunu! But remember that there is God in everything sha.
dealslip: is it by force to say what you don't know. we need more guys like this, rather than wait to humiliated, he simple bulllshit the so called interviewer.
My kind of guy... These journalists always look for cunning ways to draw out unintended statements from people and then use it against them.
The Chuka guy did the right thing by leaving.
Barcanista, I guess since its not Fee Dee Fee or A Fee See, its not news worthy.
londoner: Maybe it was a deliberate goof showing what he thinks of Buhari's suitability to rule Nigeria.
Or maybe this is what he thinks about leadership, but because his loyalty may be with Lagos, rather than Nigeria as a whole, Buharis age does not bother him?
Personally, I believe Fashola and other govs know that Buhari (and his ideas) are too old for where Nigeria should be heading. I beieve they must know that APC has better candidates than him, but DONT WE ALL
It was obvious from the footage, when Buhari talked about what he did with the naira. The camera man panned to the govs present which included, Fashola.
The look on their faces SAID IT ALL......lol
I will look for it.
Pls, I would like to see that video when you do find it.
Caseless: being a member of UN , makes part of member states' problems automatically. Our gov't should have considered the plight of the palestinians. People celebrating this news are those who put the religious face to it; they are muslims- without them thinking they are christains in palestine, too. Isreal kill both muslims and christain in the occupied territory. We are not close to US/ISREAL than france, but france voted in favor. Why do u think france took that step? It is to avoid any internal reaction from their muslim population back home. Our clueless president didn't take the Nigeria's muslim into consideration. The news stating Netanyahu's 'thank u message' to president jonathan for standing in the way of palestine's statehood is on the scroll-bar of AIT , and Nigerian muslims are watching. Dont forget , MURIC accused him of taking us to isreal and employing securities last time. Things are already adding up.
Ibrahimmrfish: gej given me more reason to hate him.I will make sure that I spread this news around. It will be a cold day in hell before gej get any vote from north agine.
Typical mindset... No wonder all it takes for a riot up north is just some hyped-up sermon by your misinformed leaders... And everyone takes to the streets to wreak havoc on unsuspecting innocents.
Pray tell when Nigeria became a country that must do the bidding of the north alone?
Caseless: yeai! We clamour for change in nigeria, and how does giving palestine their statehood not amount to change, a departure from status quo? I said , I once respected him and, he's lost the respect.
Ok. But I guess if Nigeria voted for Palestinian statehood, many would still say we're dabbling into solving another nation's woes when we're neck deep in our Islamic crisis (& blame it all on GEJ's cluelessness).
CHANGE is inevitable, its just our personal sentiments that differ.
adeaks: Diesel train? By the time you consider the amount the fed govt would quote for this project then you start to wonder if we couldnt have done better. Some countries have made high speed electric trains with the same amount or even lesser that we spend refurbishing these old diesel trains.
Caseless: u are a bastard! U ar a dog for thinking like this. I hate people like u; u want freedom and, u dont want it for others. If france could vote in favor, do u think nigeria is more pro-US than them? I lost every respect i have for u with this post; u are one of the few ppl in pdp crew i respect. Are you this heartless? I'm really angry at u. This is going to be the new campaign point against ur paymaster in the north; just watch how we turn this around.
Guy, take it easy. See the way you just typed bad, abusive words about someone you don't know, yet say you respect. You could have expressed your points without resorting to toxic words.
I think Nigeria made a good decision by staying neutral.
Some APC members clamor for CHANGE, but cannot accept the fact that Nigerian diplomats can also CHANGE their support if need be. Talk about Double Standards.
emitope: I read. Black, White & Red ; all by Ted Decker. I also read Deception point by Dan Brown; Debt of Honour, Rainbow Six & The Bear & the Dragon all by Tom Clancy. These r d novels I cud read outside my normal career related books & as much as time permitted...
I finally meet someone who's read Ted Decker's Trilogy on Thomas Hunter. But there's also Green in the Series (Circle).
I do have some of his other pdf e-novels; maybe we could trade (e-books).
GeneralShepherd: This post is dedicated to you and alizenbohr. You guys are wonderful. Thank you nairaland, I met real friends from here. Funny enough, I and alizenbohr attended the same uni in Naija
SpikesC wad up hommie?
Yes o! This world is really a small place. Thanks for helping me find my feet here. Your orientation really prepared me so I wasn't totally overwhelmed in the first week.
Big Thanks to Justwise, SpikeC et al, for the incredible work of moderating this thread and providing answers to all my questions. You guys have been most helpful.
@ GeneralShepherd, one of these weekends, I dey come chop jollof rice for your place. But I go give you 1 week notice sha.
goldendraco: Hi all, anybody here studying in university of strathclyde or in Glasgow, arrived here yesterday and got to say, it's cold and wet more than how I thought it would be. And I have not seen plenty black people and it's making me feel lonely.
GeneralShepherd: There is a free bus service from Cranfield to all international students arriving in the UK for the first time from airport to Cranfield straight no fees at all
But in the Airport Meeting Service form, there's no option for those using Birmingham airport, which happens to be my port of arrival.
735i: I learnt that the Ebola screening has started at Heathrow (and other major airports) for in bound flights from West Africa so you might need to factor in the extra time you would spend at the airport before you are allowed in (If you intend to book your coach tickets before hand) I suggest you just buy the tickets when you London Victoria… The price difference may be significant but…. It's safer to pay a slightly higher amount than to have to pay twice...
AdanneNwachukw: Just wanted to give an update on the situation of things concerning passport collection. Left Teleperformance Ikeja a few minutes ago, finally got my documents from them together with a few other people that applied on the same day with me at Ikeja VFS on September 25th. Relieved and grateful. The funny thing is I got there by 3:20pm and was told my documents hadn't arrived yet. Was so disoriented but knew I was going to stay till the day was over and I knew no package could possibly arrive again. Few seconds later I saw two guys coming in with Fedex bags! Well yeah, passports had arrived!
Thanks to everyone who replied my questions and lent assistance. Best wishes to everyone.
Congrats Adanne! Your persistence really paid off.
justwise: The check in time should be stated on your ticket, it's normally 2hrs, considering the Ebola check and all that.
Immigration process at Heathrow airport will depend on how many flights that arrived at that time, it's normall quick though.
If you have somebody in the UK they can get you NE ticket in advance else you can buy one at their office in healthrow airport there though more expensive. Why do you want to travel to MK from Birmingham rather than from healthrow which is shorter?
Thanks for the reply.
My ticket was purchased by the company sponsoring my scholarship so I didn't really have a say.
I don't have anybody staying in the UK I know of. But like how much difference are we talking about if I get the ticket there?
