Uh, just for the record, not all the oil in Edo state is being exploited, and there is still exploration going on. That said, the percentage is slightly less than 3% of Nigeria's oil as of right now. Ondo is around less than 5%.

This argument about "parasites" is always silly to me. There isn't any part of Nigeria that doesn't have some valuable natural resource.

Maybe the next northerner should make Boko haram in control of the army. Then the whole country would see what is wrong with it.

True federalism will guarantee  economic growth throughout the nation.why are the nother states too worried about true federalism?.They have been in charge for yrs and when ever anyone proposes for this system he/she ended up in prison.

Today go and see if not Gods help they succeeded in driving Okpe people out, tell me Why!!, is that behaviour good?

CrimeWife, Brothers Held For Killing Husband by aljharem(op): 5:52pm On Feb 02, 2012
By Austin Ogwuda
ASABA – A woman has been arrested alongside two of her brothers for allegedly killing her husband over an undisclosed misunderstanding.

The incident took place at Ishiagu in Aniocha South local government area of Delta State.

State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Charles Muka who confirmed the incident in Asaba yesterday said “on the 10th of January 2012, one Ojukwu Chiekube male, was murdered and thrown into a shallow river at Ishiagu with his hands tied. Following a tipoff, detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Asaba arrested two of the woman’s inlaws (names withheld) including the woman too”.

He added that the deceased’s handset was recovered from them. The wife had a problem with the deceased (husband) and reported to her relations who killed him and dumped him into the river”.

Meanwhile, two persons have been arraigned before an Asaba high court for allegedly kidnapping a medical doctor and subsequently demanding a ransom of N50 million from the wife of the doctor.

Prosecution in its 5-count charge stated that “Obiora Igboanugo and Ikechukwu Udekwe on or about the 10th day of June, 2010 at Akwuebulu layout, Asaba, within the Asaba judicial division kidnapped one Dr. Walter Onubogu and imprisoned him against his will”.

It further stated that the two accused persons “demanded for the sum of fifty million naira from one Mrs. Ifeoma Onubogu with menaces”.

Further hearing in the case has been adjourned to 28th of February this year when other similar kidnap cases would be heard.

I came into the thread and met Oga Beaf and his clique as expect, doing what they know how to do best.
I expect Gej to learn from the north, the north over the years av imposed incompetent leaders us (not just at presidency level alone) and as expected they dont have anything to show for it till date.
I will advice Gej to go for competent pple with some level of dignity at least. The likes of boyloaf are not needed anywhere near GEJ.
Oga beaf, to understand ur kind of ignorance one has to ask some simple questiön with obvious and easy answer we already know:

does the ND and south south indigenes own the oil companies in their land? (No) Yes they would use the SE oil companies

do local indigenes of oil prodvcing communities run to these oil companies for job they dont deserve under the guise of employement qouta? (Yes) I agree Quota system says that 90 % of the oil workers must be Niger/delta that it is being put to practise

do non-indigene from the north and west u tag as parasites beg for jobs from the oil companies? (No)

when the north was in a similar position as ur beloved ND and had tin minning going for them, did the berom or hausa indigenes have any qouta allocatiön for employement or chase and complained about non-indigenes? (No) gbamm atcually the majority of the employees back then were Igbos and yorubas. Quota system did not apply then because they were not parasites then

do the non-indigene in the ND resort to kidnapping, harrasment or blackmailling when the country was feeding on their resources? (No)

in lagos, jos, kaduna, kano, abuja do they have community employement quota for their indigenes? (No) gbam In fact today Diamond back rarely employ any yoruba even though it is in Ibadan, osun etc

From the above it is easy to see who the real parasites are and why they are where they are today.
U av proven times and over again that u have no moral standards or core values. Anything goes with u as löng as it solve the equation in favour of u and ur parasitic pple.
Make everyone occupy their resources. At the end of the day NO CONDITION IS PERMANENT.

PoliticsUs Govt Never Said Nigeria ‘ll Break Up By 2015 – Envoy by aljharem(op): 5:29pm On Feb 02, 2012
Ambassador of the United States of America to Nigeria, Mr. Terence McCulley has said his country never predicted that Nigeria would break up by 2015 as earlier reported.

The envoy who was in Ibadan Thursday explained further that the prediction was done by a private agency that carried out a survey and not the US government as claimed by the report.

Terence-McCulley
He said the US government considered Nigeria as a strategic partner in Africa adding that the role that Nigeria plays in peace keeping operation in the continent was very vital.
Describing the violent activities of Boko Haram sect as unfortunate, he said he was optimistic that it would soon be resolved going by the combined efforts of both Christian and Muslim youth to solve the problem.

To him, the issue of Boko Haram menace could be attributed to political rivalry between the North and the south stating that his country was playing a major role in checking the excesses of the sect noting further that with the sending of bomb technicians to Nigeria, it was indicative of the robust relationship between the two countries.

He added that corruption in the country was a fundamental problem which had created wide gaps between the people and government urging all tiers of government to ensure that the vice was tackled.
He advised that the government should strengthen all the relevant anti-corruption agencies and give them necessary backing to perform.

McCulley expressed earlier in his remarks that Nigerians exercised Freedom of Speeech and Expression last month when they spoke out to debate the decision to remove subsidy on gasoline.

“They did so peacefully, for the most part, from Lagos and Ibadan to Kaduna and Kano. And the Nigerian government, for the most part, protected its citizens’ right to speak out, and held accountable those who abused authority. This is a sign of democracy: people exercised a fundamental freedom, and the government listened”, he said.

He continued saying “Nigeria is also a country of diverse faiths, and Nigeria also drawa its strength from this diversity. In spite of this-perhaps because of it-some people seek to exploit religious differences in Nigeria.

But, many Nigerians have refused to let this happen. I am pleased to see ongoing interfaith dialogues among religious leaders. I was especially encouraged by reports of Christians protecting Muslims during Friday prayers during the protests against fuel subsidies and Muslims guarding Christian churches during Sunday services after the horrendous Christmas Day attacks. Efforts like these to promote a universal freedom of worship will help everyone prosper”.

“Nigerians have also voiced out the need for good jobs, schools, health care, and infrastructure. In fact, from the conversations and comments I heard during protests in January, many Nigerians seemed to say that they also wanted to enjoy this freedom from want. I am pleased that Nigerian government has responded by pledging to eliminate waste and focus on infrastructure projects that Nigerians need. This is also a sign of democracy” , he said.
