Ishilove: My friend told me her dad bathed her till she was 10. The only place he never touched when bathing her was her private areas but every other place was thoroughly scrubbed. Sadly it stopped because the man passed away untimely.
PS: she is the last child of the family and her father's favourite.
Any man who gets aroused by his own daughter's body is mentally sick. Really really sick ! |

No not at all. We have igbo words that yorubas adopted as well. Like ugu, nna etc We borrowed from fulanis as well Even fulanis borrowed from Arabs etc. Just life |

Probz: Oyibo does seem to be more of a thing with the western and northern Igbo (Imolites and Abians use bekee instead) but I'm really struggling to think of any Yoruboid words and mannerisms in any part of Igboland. This is the first I'm hearing of it. A common word like Okoro in Igbo which mean man is gotten from the delta igbo/Urhobo axis which was gotten from Ilaje/itsekiri/Owo axis (They still use okoro) which was gotten from Okunrin in Oyo dialect which is yoruba. Igbo word for man is Nwoke |

Probz: I think tolotolo and akara are shared words in Igbo and Yoruba. Jamaicans use potopoto in their creole and it's said to derive from the Igbo language - "opoto-opoto", mkpọtọ-mkpọtọ, "mud", "muddy." In Ghana languages (Akan) na potopoto self. Where does Yoruba now come into it? No they are not shared ! They were borrowed. Also Bean for Akara does not grow in the south but North and Yorubas have traded with Northern ethnic groups (Not particularly fulani or hausa) for hunbreds of years Creole are yorubas (You are research). 60% of their broken English is influenced by Yoruba language. Again do your research well Ghanaian Language is heavily influenced by yoruba language. In fact a war between the two occured The word Ghana is from the Ga tribe of Accra who originated from Yorubas From Akuabo (Welcome) in yoruba. Ga call it Akuaba To Alubosa (Onions) in yoruba among other I am just too busy to start bring out books but I will try |

Bolombolo is a corrupted word of Balloon. It is not original and can never be claimed
Potopoto is pure yoruba
Tolotolo is yoruba. Turkeys were never found in the east
Ube is pure yoruba as well.
More yoruba words
Akara Omo which the Igbos call Umu................ child in igbo actually mean Nwa Oba Nomo (Dry strong meat) Okunrin (Man) Which as also been corrupted to Okoro thanks to the Benins passing this on..... Nwoke is man in Igbo
Keke which mean bicycle
Among others |

First of all Egusi is a yoruba word which mean break/grind it more. It was never Igbo
For crying out loud. Melons don't grow in Igbo land
Anyone that knows basic agriculture should know that melons grow in savanna. Igbos don't even have savanna not to even talk of having contact with melon seed.
Igbos also have one way of making egusi soup but yoruba have various ways because of first contact. at least I know of 3
I have proven this before 4 years back in a thread I cannot get right now |

jollymizzle: I ve been reading some of the posts with disbelief and amusement. What is opc? What function are they supposed to perform? What function did they perform in the past
What function did they perform in 2001 when Hausas invaded Ikeja and claim Alausa is their town What function did they perform in Altas cove when Asari bombed it What function did they perform when Fulanis were attacking people in Osun and Kwara What function did they perform when Ijaws were taking over Ajegunle Apapa
Who's supposed to funfund them? And so on are what we should be asking ourselves. Is the dying opc the same as the one we had during the military Era? Fund them ? Did they ask anyone for money ? Even your god Tinubu was never asked for money, They wanted to generate revenue themselves by protecting Arepo pipelines which is still being vandalized till date
You lots are talking about incidents in Lagos as if Lagos is all of southwest. opc has been non existent in a lot of South west state for years now . That is a BIG FAT LIE !!!!!! because even in warri we have OPC not to talk of others
As far as I'm concerned they lost their way . and it's everybody's fault. The elites in Lagos have become complacent and they are therefore reaping the rewards. Whether you like it or not opc was partisan which shouldn't be the case, when their patron(GEJ) lost out it is natural that the movement whither also. What we need is not to revive the dying opc.
Read the first comment. Also that that we followed your god, has the country improved ? Has the life of an average yoruba man improved or worsen !!!!!
Let it die and the ashes scattered to the winds. It had no business being partisan in the first place. It should be a regional police not under contract whether pipeline or not to a government whether apc or pdp. It should be funded not by politicians but by every proud yoruba son and daughter and it must be answerable to the people. It's only goal should be to protect yoruba interests, not gejs not tinubu but the yoruba interest. Otunba gain Adams started well but it's time a new force independent of politics, having only one ideology (protect the motherland) rises from the ashes of opc. jollymizzle: In continuation, every Street, community and town should take up its own security by having a vigilante group. That is the sensible thing to do if your area is under attack. There are already vigilante groups in every street but that is not ENOUGH TO PROTECT PEOPLE FROM BEING KIDNAPPED AND TAKEN TO THICK FOREST. While vigilante go to a forest to protect one ?
Not waiting for an opc that has lost its way. The citizens of Lagos particularly the elites should wake up. It's their fault (lagosians) that this is happening in the heart of the yoruba nation. It was from these individual vigilante groups that the opc was formed in the first place. Let the citizens work together. If your street is under seige, make some small monthly contributions and secure your environment . the yoruba elders should do their part also, tinubu is not the only elder in Yorubaland, they should get off their arses and make themselves useful. Not blaming tinubu for not doing everything tinubu has his fault but he has made the yoruba race relevant in politics, others should rise up too. From there maybe we can have a new force that will even dwarf the exploits of the once great opc. You speak/type like an ingrate !!! Reread with you posted. Some of you politicans really amaze me at time especially you Tinubu boys. To you, tinubu can do no wrong ! |

Olu317: Every Yoruba person is a member of OPC directly or indirectly. The group truly need funds but the way its leadership handles fund is what I detest. This is the reason the group is loosing its focus. Chief Gani Adams started very well but lost it to greed. I wish people can truly learn from Jadua/Adua/Odua whom we all see as our progenitor. Despite the fact that the man didn't give birth genealogically to every citizens of Yoruba land. He led them all and protected them all selflessly. This is the reason, many use his name to swindle many Yoruba people. Emotionally, we are attached to the name and I hope the group will choose a new leader so as judiciously render her service to the Yoruba nation. The tenure should be terminal. The method of choosing should entail wide consultation. This indeed will resurrect the sleeping OPC. @ Bolded. I think that is the only solution but for now they are handicapped and to make matters worse any stranger (Fulani/Boko haram and South-south militants) Are just raping, robbing and kidnapping our people anyhow. This is very painful !!!! |

Kidnappers of Nigerian Turkish International Colleges (NTIC), Ogun State have rejected a N7.25 million ransom parents raised. Armed men had on January 13, stormed the school premises at about 9.30PM and held hostage three female supervisors, a female cook, a female teacher (Turkish), three students, and two others that were in the school for coaching for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The school said that its security noticed some movement on the CCTV camera at the girls’ section and promptly deployed security personnel and alerted the relevant security agencies in the area. The management added that the armed invaders opened fire on the security staff and managed to escape with the hostages.
The kidnappers had earlier demanded N100 million for each of the students, and N300 million each for the Turkish nationals. After the kidnap, parents withdrew their children from the school, and it was shut down. Reports say the kidnappers had reduced the amount earlier this week, but the parents still couldn’t afford it. “The parents met yesterday at Ikeja. They were able to gathered N7.250m. They got in touch with the kidnappers, but the men said the money was too small. They asked them to go and add more to the money, if they wanted their kids to be released,” The Inspector- General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT) has arrested two suspects – Philip Joel Kakadu (aka General Kakadu), 29, a native of Egbema Kingdom, Warri North Local Government Area and Romeo Council, 40, (aka Raw).Kakadu confessed to the police that the abduction was, a ‘Joint Operation,’ among three different gangs of kidnappers. He told police that he contributed five men and planned the abduction, but didn’t go with them. Kakadu was arrested after four years on Police Wanted List for bank robbery, pipeline vandalism and kidnapping. He was the unseen face, but known name in police circles, behind the popular Agbara, Festac, Lekki and Ikorodu bank robberies. Kakadu and his men were known for blowing up banks’ doors and vaults with dynamites. It was, however, based on his confessions, that the IRT operatives have spread into states in South-South and South-West. The report stated that more than 16 suspects, had been arrested earlier, including women, but thorough investigations by the IRT operatives, whittled down the number. Presently, five confirmed suspects, including a lady, are among the suspects in police custody. http://www.metronaija.com/2017/01/kidnappers-of-turkish-school-students.html |

Fyno: your only problem is that the op acknowledged the role played by BAT in destroying OPC which is not far from the truth. Tinubu,in order to raise support for Buhari in the south West destroyed OPC by branding them as corrupt and partisan while the truth will always remain that GEJ realized the importance of OPC in rural security and empowered them by giving them work. Unknown to many of us that was supporting Tinubu blindly, GEJ was doing the right thing, the pipeline would have been safe, improving oil production, kidnapping and Fulani herdsmen attack would have been resisted and maybe we would've had peace as a country because OPC would be more motivated which they deserve more than this politicians Thank you.
