Penny stocks, mmmmhhhh maybe that was in january. Even the dead companies are being bought by some investors both local and foreign. Even Scoa i cant believe could even rise, I will say the Nig stock market is the new 8th Wonder. Meaning aniting can happen in this country. But lets keeping praying that our democracy keeps thriving.

@all

Would like to know the effect of the 10%Vat on the market and the prices of stocks

@dollyp

U are very very lucky, I deposited money for like 10 days for my broker to get me Oceanic Bank but not available, so when i saw the thing getting to N24 I just told them to buy me C & I. I think U are very luck indeed. Will U sell some to me.

@all

My opinion is that Access at N19 is quite high and even the offer price is just fair but my issue is the projected 4Q2007 EPS is quite low.I think in the 60k range for a stock selling as high as dat. For the medium term I think okay provided investors sentiments still remain and they increase their earnings.
InvestmentRe: First Bank's 100 Billion Naira Share Offer by Allcorrect(m): 12:08pm On Jun 06, 2007
@frankiriri

I appreciate your responses but on this u probably you didnt quite understand the situation. The stock in question I bought when it was N24 in 2003 and what was i supposed to do when i saw it getting to N65-N67. I wasnt carried away with the 1 for 1 stuff, so I sold part of what I had made as profit. With the intention to buy back into it after the mark down.

I did that to maximize my profit and my decision was supported by my broker and I think it was the wisest thing to have done at that time. Now I ahve my 1 for 1 for the balace of my stock and I used part of the profit I made on the sale to buy me a car. Now thay are offering N31 for the right which I intend to buy lots and then sell my other balance when the suspenbsion is lifted.

So Oga frank do tell me if I am making a bad decision, I would love to hear your opinion on this.

Voila.

@muritijan,
as cheexy rightly pointed out there are brokers that will collect dat, and even there are some that will collect even N100 from you provided it can buy a stock.

There are numerous of them, iknow of Alliance Capital Mgt on Marina by the GPO and Core Trust on Awolowo Road, just to name a few.

Just start, all the best

@frankiriri
the last time it went to 72 I can bet you that not many people were able to sell at that price.
I choose to strongly disagree with U. When FBN got to N72 last year, even at N67 it was veri veri unavailable, people mopped up the share and held on tightly to it, they werent selling onli few savvy investors were selling at that time, i sold mine at N65 and my broker even told me that som people had even booked for it.
After the mark down to about N34 or thereabout i wanted to buy again but still scarce until three days later when i got it at N38.

So i think things are a little diff here as it is still an emerging market

@tmoni
Men u must b a big boy student with all dat dough. cheesy Well no beefs at all. Like ur style. At least ur name is not tif moni, just too much money.

So Intercontinental is onli giving a final div of 35k, well no wahala, but with the 5 forign investors dat price isnt coming down, the price might come a little lower cos as there is no bonus trust nigerians they will sell, but this bro is buying big time.

@savvylane
The trend in this country even after bonus are given, after the adjustment the prce tends to start rising especially if it is limited in supply. So Nigeria is a different planet.

Trying to see if zenith will hit N60-65, sell it and wait for Dangote flour.
InvestmentRe: First Bank's 100 Billion Naira Share Offer by Allcorrect(m): 2:52pm On Jun 01, 2007
@blackgold

Unless u have other plans for coming to Nigeria u can buy from where u are. There are some receiving banks thatcarry out such transactions from there. If u check the amount of moni u will put into flying down that will give more units. Up to u though. Dont u have relations and stuff like that. Transfer the pay and they will buy for u with full proff of copies of the form and receipts or tellers.

The issue of trust is entirely ur personal opinion, better dont generalize it.

As easy as dat. Think bout it

Was wondering if someone could throw more light on C and I leasing. Got the PO last year at 1.15 and now its like 4.00.

Maybe some insider info could do on holding, buy or selling options.

Maybe we should ask the guy which kain work im dey do.

InvestmentRe: First Bank's 100 Billion Naira Share Offer by Allcorrect(m): 2:26pm On Jun 01, 2007
@Blackgold

Dont let anibodi deceive u, u defininetely dont need ani account to buy FBN shares or ani other share for that matter.What u nid is a form and your money either cash, cheque or bank draft, just a form of legit payment.
The only instance is when you require to cash inyour dividends, this comes in the form of a cheque and you need to pay it into an account. But for purchasing stocks either primary or secondary market account ownership isnt compulsory. Hop that answers that.

U can check with your broker and lets know if their opinion differs.
InvestmentRe: First Bank's 100 Billion Naira Share Offer by Allcorrect(m): 5:22pm On May 30, 2007
@nakedwire

My simple advise is this, if u already have shares in FBn and u receive mails,dividends, bonus etc from them then u are entitled to the rights issue. U will get a booklet from them telling u ow mani units u can buy and other info. If by 10th of June u dont receive it then i advis u go to first registrars at Iganmu they are on Abebe road. Tell them u are yet to receive the rights offer and they will assist you from there. Just giv it a try.

Lets not discourage others, the stock market is not a money doubling scheme it works like the ocean wave sometime u are on top and somtimes u are down. Let fresh entrants buy into it and watch their money grow. I bought into FBN in 2002 at about N22 or someting like that. The price didnt go beyond N30 for a long time until somtime last year when it skyrocketed and i am better for it. I just used it as an investment tool as in the long term.

So lets not becloud the real meaning of investment. When u put money into something and u are expecting it to triple in 2months i will call dat money doubling. So put ur money into the bank and watch it grow.

NB, its money u dont need in the next 6mths to 1 year, its not ur school fees, feeding fees, upkeep, just something u have saved.

In the 80's keeping money in the bank was more profitable than stocks but today reverse is the case and tomorrow we dont know. So enjoy what we have
InvestmentRe: First Bank's 100 Billion Naira Share Offer by Allcorrect(m): 10:38am On May 23, 2007
@egoldman

If u have been trading on the floor and u know ow banking stocks have been going u will have established a trend. Look at Intercontinental Bank offer of last year, the certificates arent out. UBN offer of dec/jan 2005/2006 i got my cert in March this year. Zenith took about 7 months which was fast. Those are just a few.

Before CBN would do their own verification of the monies it will take a while and this offer is being made available to foreign investors through the GDR, it will take awhile cos they hav to ensure that our Nigerian bog boys through these cahps are not bringing in Drug and firearms moni here. Well with the E-allotment it sure might be faster.

Let me state here that i am not being negative about the FBN offer its just that i am trying to cerrect the impression that people are having that they will make money fast. In all give and take as i have said earlier if u are buying look mid to long term.

My personal opinion aniway.
InvestmentRe: How Much Will I Get In 7-10 Years If I Buy 1st Bank Public Offer With #200,000 by Allcorrect(m): 5:32pm On May 22, 2007
@Mazeepac

In as much as u try to advise someone to buy FBN does not mean u should mislead them. DollyP has tried to be sincere with the response. Even Ajekigbe cannot say the price of FBN will hit N70. If u say say N60 understandale or do u think those figures are just manufactured. U need to check the EPS and the PE ratio and all these depends on how the company is performing.

So for Pheesayour go ahead since u wouldnt need the moni for 7 - 10 yrs.it is a good buy going by the fundamentals in the prospectus.
Have a nice time sowing

@noble2007

Like to point out that i am not a marketing executive. The issue of brokers is a personal one and if u desire one there are so mani on the island but i will advise u get one where u have 1 on 1 relationship with them.

My having acces to such info does not mean u will even if u go there. U know how these things work. Investment decisions are strictly at ur own risk so i advise u open ur eyes. I can only divulge some of these info.

Moreover i use two brokers and they are quite okay even though they hav their own different lapses. I am still tolerant.
InvestmentRe: First Bank's 100 Billion Naira Share Offer by Allcorrect(m): 5:24pm On May 21, 2007
Of course they can cope with even more, the whole of Africa is yet to be explored. Business should not be done onli in Nigeria, Europe is there, Asia, America.
Common, you are yet to experience a new thing in this country. Our foreign reserve is working . Thanks to Soludo. Cant u see all the forign banks willing to invest in Nigeria.

Better recognise.
InvestmentRe: First Bank's 100 Billion Naira Share Offer by Allcorrect(m): 4:57pm On May 21, 2007
House, thread carefully. If you are buying FBN u have to know that the minimum time you can hold on to it is about 9 months to 1 year cos thats when they will complete the allotment and all the bla bla bla.

NB- Did u guys see the elephant for the road show, looked like a baby elephant (bull) well a bank over 100 years should give us a mama elephant ready to give birth. Aniway just my opinion.

Quote in the next three months u will ot get banking stocks to purchase and if u do very very expensive. The market will explode before the end of the year.
My broker said i should get rid of my flour mills, Nig Breweries and put them into banking

A new recapitalisation is coming for the banks watch out.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Allcorrect(m): 4:38pm On May 21, 2007
Of course u can have more than one cscs account. I can tell u categorically that i have two accounts with two diff brothers. Nothin spoil.

House please has anione received the bonus certificates from Ecobank since their last year 1 for 1. Wondering cos they just gav anoda 90kobo. Need to know so i can seek out the brokers.
InvestmentRe: First Bank's 100 Billion Naira Share Offer by Allcorrect(m): 9:24pm On May 16, 2007
The first bank no doubt is hot, but wait a minute most banks dont release their certificates until about 6 months to nine monthe before you can verify them, thats if u arent using the cscs thing.
The system as usual will be after the offer, one month down the line the suspension will be lifted and the price will rise and rise maybe 50-60 naira, but you wont have any certificates ot verify and sell. only those that have the stock before now, and about that time the audited report will be released and if they should decide to giv a 1 for 10 or 1 for 5 bonus, you all know what will happen.
So i will advise you inverst with your eyes WIDE open not "WIDE SHUT". Buy and keep for about one and half years.
Watch out for Access public offer and the bonus offers from intercontinental and zenith.
Pockets will get filled this year and fingers will also be bitten.

Let me mention that i bought a car with part of my bonus from FBN. I bought N200,000 worth from the public offer done in, i tink 2001 or is it 2002 at N20 per share.
Make the bucks house.
BusinessEcobank And Unity Bank Set To Merge by Allcorrect(op): 2:00pm On May 09, 2007
Just got reliable info that EcoBank Nig and Unity Bank are set gto sign and MOU for a merger today. Just thinking that they should have just taken over the bank imean unity Bank. Thank i dont think is even online, they still operate manually in 2007, Unbelievable.
I understand it is a combination of about 9 banks including NNB, Bank of the North and a few others.
Ecobank is going to invest a lot of money tushing up all the branches to the present day standard. The advantage is that they have a lot of branches all over Nigeria so making the reach good. If i am right i think they have the 4th or 5th largest branch network in the country.
For the share price of Eco bank i think it is heading upwards despite their 9kobo dividend for the year ended Dec, 2006.
Considering whether i should invest in that,

Freelance i would love you to check properly, First is only running an wareness campaign before the offer commences. The ads are only for awareness and the sale has not commenced yet.
Its mega when it comes all will know and moreover i feel they will like to target the offer towards the mid of this month and the end and the offer will be be on while they release their 2007 audited report, you know its about the marketing just like Oceanic did and made their offer HOT.
First bank is surely for the mid to long term. That last year 1 for 1 no be beans at all. Which company fit try am.
Ecobank Nig gave 1 for 1 last year and this year nothing but 9Kobo. Only the mighty survive.

BusinessRe: How Much Does It Cost To Verify A Certificate by Allcorrect(op): 11:28am On May 08, 2007
My little experience with that verificatiion stuff is that some registrars are far more effective than others, Zenith and FBN registrars are one of the fastest. The registrars for Gtb also fast taking less than a week but on the other hand Wema might take a long time maybe upto a month. The last time i verified through my brokers with Wema it took like forever and i needed the pay to pay my MBA fees. I was really dazed at the kinda system that was operated there.
The best bet now is to get a cscs nos and fill it in when u are buying into any public offers.
Happy investing guys.

Thanks guys, know that it is free because i brought out my fbn, zenith and about 8 other firms and she said it was 500 per certfiicate, i was dazed, cos the certificates were like 16 in nos.If i was to pay 500 each thats like 4k for onli verification. I just left the place.
All these brokers i dont even understand
InvestmentRe: Dangote Sugar Refinery Shares: 18 Naira At IPO, Now 56 Naira! by Allcorrect(m): 4:46pm On May 07, 2007
Hey men soori bout dat, it is absolutely impossible to sell or transfer shares without some proof of ownership either through certificates or cscs. The most advisable thing to do is to verify your certificates into cscs thereby making it easy to sell when the need arises. I think what you should do is to go the registrars of coca cola nad they will give you an indemnity form and you can get another one but it takes a while. So good luck men.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Allcorrect(m): 4:19pm On May 04, 2007
The truth of the matter is that most prices of stocks are already high and tendecies show that they are going higher. Most companies are going to release their audited result from this month until about sept, expect hyper prices, banks like FBN, UBN, Zenith, Access and the likes. Insurance is a good industry to chhose from going by the recapitalisation. They are quite fair considering that they are yet to release their results. Price appreciation is expected. So make that move.
I was wondering ow much is stipulated for share certificate verification. Someone should help out here.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Allcorrect(m): 1:29pm On May 04, 2007
Based om my litlle knowledge of this, i think offer price is the amount you will pay per unit if you are buying into the system while bid price is the value of the unit when you decide to sell part or all of what you have in the sytem. Its a little different from stock market quotes even though they trade regularly.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Allcorrect(m): 1:25pm On May 04, 2007
Well diamond is hot with an eaning per share of 61kobo at a prce of N10.7or the 3rd quarter it is a lot better than the likes of access which is is at N15. Asked my broker bout the stock but it seems it is vey scarce but promised he could help me get it.
He said i should consider Nig. wire and cable, which is undergoing liquidatiion, the stock is even scarce. I wont even buy that stock in my dreams, but these days i am having a rethink, with what happened to National Salt and Costain. wink
BusinessHow Much Does It Cost To Verify A Certificate by Allcorrect(op): 5:25pm On May 03, 2007
I was wondering ow much it costs to verify a certificate. One broker said it was 500 bucks per registrar and another said it was 30naira per certificate. But i still understand that its free with the registrars.
Considering whether i should go to the registrars myself.
Someone should put a voice to this to avoid being defrauded
InvestmentRe: Dangote Sugar Refinery Shares: 18 Naira At IPO, Now 56 Naira! by Allcorrect(m): 2:05pm On May 03, 2007
Well, the story about Dangote is alrady old i guess those that have made millions have and those that are making are sure are. Maybe we should also look at the other equities on the floor. I understand Nig Wire and cable is undergoing liquidation and as at now the stock is about N5 up from about 70kobo earlier in this year. I told my broker to get them for me, he said even if i pay N15 i wont get, i ws dazed.he also mentioned National salt which id te hottest now selling less than N1 at the beginning of this year and now about N23. So u can imagine.
He advised me to buy Diamond Bank cos som foreign firm hav bought into it and he says it is even difficult to get, but h will try.
Nigeria is coming of age and th stock market is one way to reap either in the short term, medium term or even in the long term.
Watch out for First Bank, Access and Diamond.
Happy planning and action House
