I don’t think the system of draws is fair lately! I wish IRCC can at least do some FSW draws and give people as long as they can to process and submit so as to lock their scores. Age keep on dropping with 5marks deducted. Although I have not been affected, I really feel for those dropping points cos of birthdays . We knw how difficult it is to add even one point to our CRS scores this days.
I might be wrong but this is my humble submission.

I need advice on what to do.
Am so demoralized to realize this evening that WES is now requesting for verification of my PhD transcript and statement of results that they have accepted months ago. This was after they received my masters verification that took my school almost 3 months to send. I was actually expecting to see a date dat my evaluation will be complete but not this.
Pls do you think I have a case and contact them on this cos I don’t knw how many more months it will take my school to respond.
I just weak my verification has been since May oo. And I lost 6 marks already last month cos of my birthday.
Am just frustrated right now.

Am I the only one whose verification is being delayed in Uniben just because they refuse to pay NEPA bill and giving useless excuse that their Generator is bad at exams and record and PG School?
We have to join forces and approach their bosses to explain our predicaments and see what we can do to help. It’s frustrating that my verification request has been delayed for 2 months, which is enough time for my ECA report to be ready. To make matter worse, my birthday is just stirring and laughing, and about to steal 5 points from me.

That’s the spirit. But preparation is key. Take your time to prepare well before writing your first IELTS exam since ECA is pending.
Don’t make the mistake I did. I was so scared of the exam that I concentrated so much on it without commencing my ECA. I eventually passed in my first attempt. Now my ECA is just hanging there while my next birthday is just stirring and laughing at me. It’s good you have started your ECA first.

Loads of knowledge I have gotten here, hwever I am trying to get my ECA done using masters and preparing for ielts as a single applicant.

You have to be patient and check back on them again. Better still, collect someone’s contact in the office where those emails are being printed.
As for my school, they normally print those verification request from the registrars mail every two weeks. It’s possible it’s there and they haven’t printed it out yet. I don’t think anyone would want to start checking the emails just for your own except if u are willing to entice them with good money�.
But if lingers, u will still need to exercise more patience cos they normally send both emailed and courier hard copies. So that could get there after a month or so.
My dear it happened to me too oo. Las las na d hard copy I later wait for.

Hello House pls I need some direction and advice
Concerning my job reference letter, I notice that the responsibilities listed under my NOC does not cover all the responsibilities I currently perform.
My questions are;
1. Do I list more or less responsibilities than what is on the NOC list if am privileged to state what I want to appear on the reference?
2. Will I need to show statement of account as evidence of salary payments if my reference is on the letter headed paper, if my organization has a website and I have some current pay slip to upload?
3. Can I use a reference letter that is dated more than 4 months to apply for PR? Or I shld demand for new reference letter?

It’s not as easy as that. I hope she wasn’t referring to Uniben. Cos am facing similar challenge there. The while sch no gree pay Nepa bill. And both exam and record and PG school no Dey put on gen! My verification has been there for two weeks now. Just to print letter head na problem. I even suggested to help do it outside, they no gree. Can your gen carry the while school? Lol

I meant what I said. Some of my friends initially put a lot of fear in me concerning writing. I later discovered that they dint prepare well that’s why they have been failing. I assisted them in the preparation and we ended passing writing and others together.
All am trying to say is that if you prepare well and with the right assistance, it won’t be a big deal.

Good morning everyone.

I am so grateful to God. I am finally done with IELTS.

1st attempt 17th August, 2019 - LRWS- 7.5, 9, 6.5, 6.5

When I saw the result, I was so angry and moody all through that day. However, the next day, I woke up, encouraged myself and decided to rewrite the test on the next available date (7th Sept), which was just one week away (Thank God I made the decision).
I realized I needed help, so I contacted @ johnnybravo to assist with my writing. He agreed and we had one week intensive coaching on writing, while i was also seriously practicing the other components as well. He also gave me tips on Listening.

2nd attempt 7th September, 2019- LRWS- 8.5, 9, 7.5, 7.5 (all maxed out)

MY ADVICE

Listening- Practice hard and listen attentively. Infact, listen like your life depends on it. Look out for your weak areas and focus on them till you conquer.

Reading-Practice, focus on your weak areas. try and get the 'tricks' behind answering correctly.

Writing- Please, please and please, if you are stuck on 6.5, look for someone to review your scripts. It will save you the money you will spend rewriting the test. I recommend @ johnnybravo1990, he is really thorough, detailed and also friendly.

Speaking-i made the mistake of trying to over-impress in my first test. My advise here is to keep it simple. Just talk as if you are with a friend. you dont need impress. Keep talking until you are told to stop.


I have learnt so much from this thread and I want to appreciate everybody.

I just checked my MOD IELTS result of 7th September, 2019 exam now! It’s my first attempt
LRWS- 9.0, 7.0, 7.5, 7.0
( Although was not happy with my speaking result especially)
Las Las, WRITING IS NOT AS TERRIFYING AS MANY PEOPLE MAKE IT LOOK SHA.
I knw it’s not ITA or PR yet. The relief of not writing it twice is so satisfying.
Am now waiting for my ECA to jump into the pool.

I can only say for Ph.D. I don’t have a contact for WEAC anymore. But am sure a lot of people on this thread does.
For Ph.D, you would have to send three documents
1. Your PhD degree certificate or statement of result
2. Your PhD transcript
3. Doctorate degree confirmation.
-From my experience, they accept the transcript immediately it gets to the. No need for verification unlike Msc and Bsc that they would have to write to the school to confirm its validity.
-For your Degree certificate or statement, they will send mail to the university to verify the validity of the document.
-But for the Doctorate degree confirmation, am sure they would accept that without verification. The form you require to fill and stamp for this purpose is onWESS website. I was surprised they dint even knw about this particular document in my pg school. Probably because a lot of people don’t verify PhD. I hope it’s not like that in your school. Cos I had to explain before they accepted to do it sha.

My first IELTS exam is next week with MOD and am to travel for a job assignment outside my state to return on Friday in order to write my exams. Unfortunately, I received a mail that my speaking test is on Wednesday and I won’t be around. I have sent mails and even called with no response. Pls can I need some advice on what to do.
Am just confused.

Even if I provide a six month statement for the account I used for the investment, the payment of the lump money I invested will not be captured cos the money was transferred over six month back. Moreso, I dint even do the investment with my salary account, which am supposed to present statement as proof that I am a salary earner.

It really depends on the VO. Some here have gotten PPR with just the certificate. Others have had to provide the certificate, bank statement showing the outflow and the source of the funds (in most cases, gift deed). To be safe, provide the evidence of the source of the funds as well.

Below was wat I saw in my profile. Although I knw I was supposed to verify only my PhD, but I learnt this after I had sent all.
