Oil prices started dropping by mid 2014...and by 2015....they had fallen to below 40 dollars.

Fact is.....resource dependent economies are only as good as the price of the resource they live on.Once the price falls...the economy falls...which is what is happening now (and which is what happened from 1982-2003...and would have happened in the 1970's....if oil had not gone up in price then).

Sorry....but you do not want real economic development. You think that the economy is an unlimited ATM from which you can draw money from...without any thought of where it comes from. That is how resource dependent nations think...and that is how they get into debt and into the clutches of the IMF and world bank.

For example, my husband has always being bad at communication. If I traveled, he would not call or care . . . when we got married and had kids, he changed a bit, but still he wasn't as caring as I wanted him to be when I'm out of town. Infact, he often acted like out of sight is out of mind . . . . and it really hurt. After a while, it looked like he had changed and would call/text/PM whenever I traveled and I was happy. Then I was transferred to another state. Of course knowing how he was before and how he has progressed, I knew us being almost permanently apart will cause him to regress to his incommunicado mode. But this time, I stopped caring. If he calls, fine . . . . if he doesn't, also fine!

Now I really don't care as much as I used to. In-fact I don't call or try to communicate with him until he initiates it . . . . . Obviously it's putting a strain in our relationship as we don't get to talk as often as we should, but there's nothing I can do about it. I cannot go through the whole process again . . . . . if he wants it this way, it's fine by me.

When the military bombed the supposed militants hideouts in Ogun state, many of those from the west claimed it was a poorly executed strike with many civilian casualties while those from other regions cheered the military on.
Same happened with the Zaria massacre, with many non-shia Muslims and Christians justifying the massacre of fellow Nigerians.
Now the military are talking up their plans to bomb the hideouts in the south and as expected those from that region are spewing fire and invectives while others not from the region are cheering the military on.
We are shameless in our double speak, choosing only to speak out when it affects us.
We all know that our military don't do precision strike, we don't even have those sophisticated jets, our military does mass action, both for the ground troops and airforce. We have zero regard for our own lives, that's why other countries treat us as shit, because we make ourselves shit.
You can make some noise and engage in name calling, it doesn't change a thing, doesn't change the fact that there are better ways than one to execute such battles/warfare.

Damn, america killed hundreds of thousands of innocent Japanese civilians including babies, little boys, girls, women and the elderly but that action saved MILLIONS of lives world over and contributed to the end of one of the most horrible period in world history. Yes sacrifices have to be made no sentiments attached. And for your info israeli and america still kill innocent souls in their strikes.
