@Bellong, @tunlex & others, I live in a suburb with no address in Abuja, so I always use my office address as a residential address. I was asked to provide documents for proof of residency for state nomination. Your advice is needed because I work in a hospital.

Proof of residence? This sounds like "residence in Australia".
What state is requesting this and what Visa class?

Go for a review, but before then check the ACS revised guidelines as regards not been able to get reference letter on letterhead, I believe it's stated that the person referencing you must attached their ID cards or something like that, U can check and get the real details before u apply for a review...
tunlex01:

Jeez..this should have been submitted to give credence to why you used a stat declaration.

The information on ACS website is not clear to me if it's a review or an appeal.

It's best you send an email to ACS explaining the issue and asking which of the options to go for.

Whether it is appeal or review, you should submit every proofs, all scanned in PDF format and attach the printed email and the statutory declaration.
Bodacious1:
Thanks for replying.

No I did not but I have a copy of the email trail. How do you advise I rectify this please?

Yes you should supply that mail trail and it's likely a review but you should call them first and try to push for an appeal (this is free) ,you may be lucky
However if otherwise, a review (I think 400$) is the next step

Good day everyone.
I just sent my stuffs to AIMS for assessment. However, I have a little concern.
My former employment reference has finish date of feb 2018, while the current has a start date of jan 2018, the reason for this is because when I started job my current job in Jan, 2018, I was on secondment with my former employer(Hospital management board), but I was called back a couple of weeks to either resign or come back because they were experiencing shortage of personnel, I decided to resign anyway in Feb 2018 , this was the day they filled in my reference letter as finish date.
My question is this, will I be asked by AIMS to explain the reason for this discrepancy or what do I need to do?
I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

Support your application with a letter stating the above. Show evidence like the resignation letter, and if available the advise to resign even if it's an email.

Please I would want some clarifications

I claimed points for overseas work experience and I want to submit my payslip to DHA, my question is do I have to submit monthly payslip for all the years I claimed points for?

Thank you all for your help.
With DHA torchlighing every application now,
If you can fit all the payslips into a 5MB file, you can submit for every month but if it can't, 3 per year claimed should do.
Also don't forget third party evidence like tax, pension, bank account statement is now compulsory.

You are right. They are trying to push people to the regional areas that is why visa 491 comes with 15 points when nominated.

The addtional 10 points that is based on your marital status is constant and it applies to the 3 major visas. There is a point that has been introduced/assigned to your marital status whether single or married which is the 10 points. As far as you have a partner that had assessed his/her occupation and have a competent English, you won't say you can't claim the 10 points simply because you are applying for 190 and not 491. You get? I do believe that's what you are trying to say.

I still stand with the fact that it is not only those applying for 491 that can claim applicants marital status points; the 10 points. That's not true to the best of my knowledge
. The 10 points is constant and it's across board. As far as you meet the criteria to claim it, irrespective of whichever visa you are applying for, you can always claim it. It is not introduced only for 491.

The only thing that may occur will be pushing the minimum points from 65 to 70 which the 10 points already catered for.

Yes the new point system cuts accross all the visa class.
10pts Marital status points also cuts accross.
However ITA points will go up even they still peg base point at 65 (although this is likely to go to 65/70/75 ....491/190/189

Absolutely!
I was even thinking that they wants to keep 189/190 at 65 point, but does not know how to shift 491's point back to 60 point(which is what it used to be.)

All these same, they are testing the waters and their next move will be to restrict people to the particular region that sponsored them, and remove some regions all together. After they might have seen the velocity of the crowds applying. My assumptions tho! grin

Not far from a master plan.... Theoretically speaking grin

PTE Test Update
PTE Academic test takers will soon be able to view and assign their test scores for up to 3 years (was 2years before) from their test date. This aligns with the Department of Immigration's validity period for English language tests.

Results for tests conducted on or after 29 October 2019 will be available online for three years, making it easier for the Department of Immigration to verify test scores.

There is a manual verification process for applicants who sat their test more than 2 years ago and cannot provide their registration ID or Score Report Code for their application.

Also consider the fact that the goal post will also shift by 16/11

The base point will either shift from from 65 or fragmented per visa class which will trigger very high point requirement for ITA as a lot of 189/190 hopefuls will join the 491 queue with the hopes of at all at all na hin bad. or The whole incentive is to drive people to 491 as 189/190 will become harder than it is currently

transcript is a collection of exam results taken by the student and that is why you can request for it anytime during the school year. even if its just a semester, you can request for transcript

There are options with 190 for Mechanical Engineers and Biomedical Engineers indeed. I did check. No such opening for 489 though (Mech Eng). Even though 489 will be replaced by 491, I suspect the same thing/similar thing when launched.
I do wonder how competitive these occupation groups are under 189 (because of your statement).
Anyhow, ...long way to go, one step at a time.
Options will open up under 491 as this visa is really really good for the country.

Assuming the following points were in the bag:
Age. 30 points
Education. 15 points
English. 20 points

Totalling 65 pts

What do you think one's ITA chances are with 189 if nominated occupation is Mechanical Engineer or Biomedical Engineer.

I wonder if the points total is competitive enough.
.

0 chances for 189. Even with 80 points, you have to wait for unending months to get ITA.

Secure the English.

Australia is set to introduce new regional work visas from 16 November 2019. The visa subclass 491 will offer 14,000 places each year for the foreign skilled workers living and working in regional areas. Permanent residency (PR) pathway is also available for eligible applicants and their families.

The holders of these visas will be required to work and stay in the designated regional areas until they become eligible for permanent residency.

They can apply for permanent residency after three years of stay and paid-work in a designated regional area.”

this visa will replace the existing 489 visa that will cease from the 16th of November with the invitations from States and Territories already closed from the 11th of September 2019
This is a temporary visa which is available for eligible skilled workers and their families to live, work and study in regional Australia for 5 years.

It is a point-based visa where an applicant requires either a state nomination or a sponsorship from an eligible family member who is settled in designated regional areas.

Here are some key features of Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491)

14000 places to be allocated each year
A wide range of occupations are eligible (over 500)
Age limit is set at 45 years
Visa to be granted for 5 years
Must live and work in regional areas for at least 3 years before being eligible for PR
Regional area is mainly anywhere except metropolitan Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne and Perth
The applicant should be earning a minimum wage of $ 53,900 per annum for three years (concessions may apply)
Visa holder is allowed to move from one regional area to another
PR pathway available through visa subclass 191 that will commence from 16 November 2022
Visa is available for an application fee of $4,045 and the partner fee is set at $2,025.

Difference between the 489 visa (ceased) and 491 visa
The 491 visa holders will now have to wait for 3 years for PR while it used to be 2 years in the visa subclass 489.

The new visa covers more regional areas compared to 489 visa. The areas where the holders of 491 visa can live include all areas in Australia except metropolitan Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Perth. The areas of Newcastle, Wollongong and NSW Central coats have also been added to the list.

There will be more points available under the new visa – unmarried or single applicants will get extra points that serve as a bonus for bachelors and there will be more points to avail for eligible relative sponsors and skilled partners with competent English.

This visa is going to be very competitive so we would suggest that the prospective applicants should immediately get ready with their applications, lots of people who are stuck on 189 and 190 and 489 queue are application ready and thy will switch lanes come NOV 16, so if you are still sitting on the fence, you may want to reconsider your stance

This is a temporary visa that can set a pathway for PR for eligible applicants.

The visa holders will need to stay and fulfill work requirements in a regional area for 3 years before being able to file 191 visa leading to permanent residency.
Visa restrictions and flexibility
The visa holder will not be granted any permanent skilled or onshore partner visa for the duration of 3 years unless there are compelling circumstances. You can apply for 189/190/187/186 and the likes. this move will lock migrants into the regional areas before they get their permanent residency. this will also the regional area's economy.

Visa holders cannot live and work outside the designated regional areas but are allowed to move from one regional area to another
these conditions would be monitored closely and non-compliance may result in immediate visa cancellations.

applicants should not ‘cross the limits’ or apply any ‘shortcuts’ to claim extra points.

“There is a possibility that some dodgy applicants may try to cheat the system by divorcing or separating from their partners to gain extra 10 points,” he said.

“Your whole profile and motive will be under scrutiny again when you lodge your PR under subclass 191. So better stick to all the conditions applicable to the visa or get ready to face the consequences.”

Greetings everyone. Thanks all for the good work here. I have a question biko.

Some ideas popping My head now for work experience;
1. Since I was paid cash most of the times, can I present a cash receipt which states the reason to be my salary?
2. If my employer can give me experience letter stating my position and how many years I have worked with the company, will that work?
3. Will tax receipts also serve as a proof of work experience?

Nothing yet in my head now regarding the work experience while schooling.

Sorry if I bored you with my long story. I will appreciate it if I get a response please

The only thing you can hope for is positive assessment, you will not be awarded any years of experience pre your degree. If you choose to go RPL, you do not have 8yrs of experience to meet the cut off either, your year of graduation is also is 2019. Cash payment will no t be honored ACS now also requires other third party evidence like pension, tax documents, etc
