stepo707: Sorry how is POF not an issue here? Do you guys help in arranging one...I need help too welll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, It totally depends upon which visa category you are applying for. Talking about skilled migration visas, there are three important visa categories namely, · Australia Skilled Independent visa subclass 189 · Australia nominated visa subclass 190 · Australia skilled regional provisional subclass 489 If you are applying for subclass 189, there is no requirement to have minimum funds which you need to show in Australia for skilled Independent subclass 189 visa. But, it is best advised to have a basic amount of AUD$ 10,000 when you land in Australia because you may need money for house rent, food and travel expense etc. However, if you are applying for Australia state nominated visa subclass 190 which is a state nomination visa, you might be asked by the Australian Immigration officials to show funds. Every state under state nomination program has the different immigration requirements. Each state having its own eligibility criteria , Some states like Victoria and New South Wales don’t ask for POF whereas states like Western Australia, Queensland, requires POF evidence , South Australia requires you to declare POF (i.e no evidence required, Just say you have it). You can check the website of the states nominating your occupation for comprehensive details. |

SegunWamiri: @ Alphadoor True. It's a dicey situation. One can wait till after July 1 and still be safe if occupation remains on the list. On the other hand, one can proceed Now and be cut off especially for people whose occupation is being assessed by VETASSESS and or have Nigerian degrees as FAST TRACK is almost impossible for them. Imagine if one's assessment is caught up in VETASSESS' REGULAR processing time of 10 weeks, then comes July 1 and the occupation is taken off the list
Meanwhile, no ITA yet let alone Visa application lodged (I guess it is until after this has happened that one becomes entirely secured despite the removal of occupation). [b]Please correct my notion if I Thanks for elaborating wella . Almighty VETASSES can't be rushed Yes Only ITA saves one from removal |

Alex1975: Well I have gotten my band 7.I have decided to wait till after 1-july b4 I assess for any occupation. There is no point dashing Vetasses money when you are not sure your occupation will still be relevant cuteyem: Also. I understand that the financial year 2018 - 2019 begins from 1st of July 2018 and that a number of changes might occur (a number of occupations may be taken out of the mltssl). Last year about 200 occupations were taken out. Based on this is it advisable to proceed still or do we just wait to see the new list? (that is for those of us still in the early stages who might be impacted by changes if they occur) Well!!!!!!!!! this is a knife that cuts both ways. It depends on the applicant's scenario, you can either make your move now or wait till July. there are no written rules here @Alex Band 7 is good but while waiting till July i will advice you free of charge to aim for band 8.... it can do a lot of wonders |

cuteyem: If we can as much as possible tailor this experience to meet the requirement in our application, do we not stand a chance? with VETASSESS it's not always a straight shot, however its worth shooting your shot. worth shooting your shot.
My 65 point permutation is as follows: Age -30 points PTE - Hopeful for 20 points (its a must) Qualification -15 points
I have not included any point for work experience (because its not really up to 3 years), however i need to demonstrate relevant work experience to get Vetassess give us a positive assessment. Thanks bro |

is this the geology guy? Congrats mates You have a made a wise choice, may the land favor you abundantly
To everyone, Allow me to reiterate my views on visa 489 once again. Its not a terrible visa as the general notion always imply. Its a very good path to PR
The questions you have to ask yourself are
what other choices are available for you? how much time do you have to decide? why do you need to relocate?
For visa 489 holders you can always get Insurance. Depending on your family size and options needed prices are from AUD70/month
While all hope was lost for 189 in December 2017, I applied for 489 to SA and i was nominated in January. |
