A full Okro season takes about 4 month. Okro starts to produce after 60days of planting and the harvesting goes on for 2 months if well managed. There are different varieties of Okro out there but the best is the short evergreen lady finger. I will post a picture of it when I get to the farm
Nice thread.

my2chains:
to me i dont really think that will be a big deal,

the thing is there are general markets just almost everywhere.

You can just walk up to sellers there and ask them if you can be supplying them fresh okro straight from the farm,

or better still pay their market union fees and take your produce direct to the market and sell

buyers will ask you where your farm is so they can be coming there direct to buy rather than you bringing it down to the market.

The thing is for you to just move around and ask for where major sellers of okro are and supply them

hmm the last time i went for a market survey on a basket filled with okro the woman told me she bought it for 4,500 and that was during october last year
PoliticsRe: NNPC Has Completed Main Line Of AKK Pipeline – Ojulari by AlphaTaikun: 1:13am On Dec 30, 2025
Pakute:
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) on Sunday said it has completed the main line to the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline. The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, Bayo Ojulari, on Sunday, after meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos.

Mr Ojulari said the purpose of his visit to Mr Tinubu was to update him on the 2025 performance of NNPC and to discuss the strategic priorities for 2026.

“We have been able to successfully complete the welding of the main line of the AKK gas pipeline. You remember sometime in summer, we were able to cross the River Niger which has been a struggle for many years.

“By completing this main line, what that means is that we can begin to make all the connections to the main line, which we will do in the earlier parts of next year,” Mr Ojulari said.

“And why that is very important is that it brings gas in its full form into the northern part of Nigeria. We’re looking at Kaduna, Kano, and also of course, Ajaokuta, and Abuja, where we begin to see industrialisation, industrial parks taking gas for gas-based industry, fertiliser plants, as well as generating power.”

The AKK pipeline can transport two billion standard cubic feet of natural gas per day to three proposed independent power plants in Abuja, Kaduna, and Kano, as well as other gas-based industries, and to other identified and proposed commercial off-takers along the entire pipeline route.

Since the flag-off of the project by former President Muhammadu Buhari in June 2020, NNPC Ltd. has recorded significant achievements, and the project is well on course to deliver on schedule.

Speaking further, Mr Ojulari said in 2026, NNPC will focus on increasing production.

“When we say increasing production, it sounds simple, but there’s a lot that goes into it. It means attracting the right investment to increase production, whether it’s oil or gas. And next year, we’re hoping to achieve at least 1.8 million barrels per day again, stepping up from where we are this year in terms of oil production, as well as a further increase in terms of gas production.

“We’re expecting more investment decisions to come through next year. Next year also, we’re looking at our portfolio as well, to rationalise our portfolio.

This is to ensure that we can do that in a way that we attract more investment for incremental production as well as more investment to develop all the fields that have been fallow for a very long time,” he added.
https://www.premiumtimesng.com/business/business-news/846170-nnpc-completed-main-line-of-akk-pipeline-ojulari.html
This is a highly impressive infrastructural feat for the conveyance of gas. Nigeria is more of a gas economy than a crude oil economy hence the important of value addition in gas utilization.

Kudos to those who made this happen.

This is really sad. Anthony Joshua loves Nigeria even when he has no strong reasons to do so. Losing his close friends like this could make him stay from Nigeria. So, so sad.
In reality despite being British-Nigerian, Anthony Olufemi Olaseni Joshua is from the Sagamu area of Ogun State where he also comes from a royal family, hence he's also a Prince so he's deeply connected to his Nigerian roots and Yoruba roots. That map of Africa tattooed on his upper shoulder isn't done for fancy. He'll keep flying into Nigeria but he'll be more cautious by paying MORE attention to little details.

There's NO doubt, the loss of those 2 gentlemen (Sina Ghami and Latif "Latz" Ayodele) in the auto crash is definitely painful to AJ and even to me and other folks, but we'll pull through the pain and shock WITHIN 3 years.

The chartered helicopter could have taken the champ from his hotel in Lekki, Lagos, directly to Ibadan in less than 15 minutes flight time.

For all his brilliance, technique and power as a world-class boxer, Anthony Joshua's instinct for self-preservation was not attuned enough to prevent him from traveling aboard a flashy new SUV along one of the most kidnapper-infested highways on this green planet.

A man worth tens of millions of dollars would have been the hostage catch of a lifetime for a terrorist Fulani kidnapping bandit gang of the sort that set up frequent blockades on that same Ibadan Expressway with regularity. until just a few months ago when security was beefed up in the area.
AJ wasn't headed for Ibadan but his hometown in the Sagamu area of Ogun State where he also comes from a royal family. You know he's also a Prince so he's deeply connected to his Nigerian roots.

English is one of my areas of specialization for decades now and I know full well how to use it verbally and more.

Effective communication or sentence construction is key when online and offline.

You indeed made reference to "snark aside" in your SECOND paragraph BUT there's absolutely NO connection between the FIRST and second paragraphs to indicate any form of "snark, SARCASM or SATIRE" on your part.

Your reference to "Tinubu's Lagos" is what irked me initially as that car accident NEVER took place in Lagos State BUT right in Ogun State.

Online communication can be tricky sometimes as one can easily get misconstrued when using sarcasm or satire. Since you've explained yourself better, I'll let things slide. Period.

See The Current Condition Of Ex Gov Emmanuel Uduaghan And His Wife Roli Uduaghan

See the current conditions of Ex-Delta State Governor Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan and his wife, Roli.

Udughan, now 71 years old, left office barely 10 years ago, with a baggage of many corruption scandals.

Here he is with his 63-year-old wife, aged, feeble, and needy of life!✍️

The post contrasts formal portraits of Emmanuel Uduaghan from his governorship era with recent candid photos depicting him at 71 and wife Roli at 63 as visibly aged and frail, underscoring a narrative of post-power decline tied to unresolved corruption allegations.

Uduaghan governed Delta State from 2007 to 2015 under the PDP and faced multiple EFCC investigations for frauds involving billions of naira, including phantom contracts and salary scams, though no convictions materialised, as reported in outlets like Sahara Reporters and Premium Times.

Thread replies reflect divided Nigerian sentiments, with some invoking karma for his alleged embezzlement and others attributing the couple's appearance to natural ageing or health issues like diabetes, amid 2024-2025 media assurances of his robust well-being.

Source
The couple both need to go for hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) to keep them looking a bit younger at 71 and 63 years of age. Roli Uduaghan looks more aged than her spouse like she's in her late 70s or 80s.
PoliticsRe: Femi Otedola Sells Majority Stake In Geregu Power In $750 Million Deal by AlphaTaikun: 10:01pm On Dec 29, 2025
treesun:
Billionaire investor Femi Otedola has exited Geregu Power Plc in a landmark $750 million transaction that sees him divest his 77% controlling stake in the power company.

This is according to a filing by Geregu Power Plc on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) website and sources familiar with the matter.

The transaction was executed through the sale of Otedola’s 95% stake in Amperion Power Distribution Company Limited to MA’AM Energy Ltd, a Nigerian firm, marking one of the largest private power divestments in Nigeria’s history.

What they are saying
According to the NGX filing, Amperion Power Distribution Company Limited, the majority shareholder of Geregu Power, has undergone a significant restructuring of its ownership.

The document confirms that “MA’AM Energy Ltd has acquired a 95% equity interest” in Amperion Power, effectively making it the new controlling shareholder of Geregu Power Plc.

Consequently, the indirect controlling interest previously held by Calvados Global Services Limited and Mr. Femi Otedola “has been transferred to MA’AM Energy.”

According to information on its website, MA’AM Energy is an Abuja-based integrated energy company engaged in electricity generation and supply, energy trading, and marketing.

Sources informed Nairametrics that the transaction, which closed on December 29, 2025, was financed by a consortium of Nigerian banks led by Zenith Bank, with Blackbirch Capital acting as financial advisers.

While the sale involved Otedola’s stake in Amperion, Geregu Power clarified that this “does not involve the direct sale or transfer of shares of Geregu Power Plc,” meaning the company’s public shareholding structure on the NGX remains unchanged.

Thus, the shareholding structure listed on the NGX remains unchanged, though the ultimate beneficial ownership of 77% of the company has effectively shifted.

Geregu Power is currently valued at N2.85 trillion, trading at N1,140 per share, and remains one of the most capitalised and profitable firms on the Nigerian Exchange.

Strong man of the capital market
Otedola’s involvement in the energy sector spans over two decades. He began in 1999 with the incorporation of Zenon Petroleum and Gas, later acquiring African Petroleum (AP) which he rebranded as Forte Oil.

Following his exit from Forte Oil in 2019, he carved out the power generation arm—Geregu Power—and grew it into one of Nigeria’s foremost GenCos, contributing 10% to national grid supply.

Under his leadership, Geregu expanded from 40MW to a nameplate capacity of 435MW, became consistently profitable, and averaged N20 billion in annual dividends.

A new strategic play – Otedola’s exit from Geregu signals a broader strategic shift to the financial sector. He now serves as Chairman of First HoldCo, the parent company of First Bank of Nigeria, where he holds a 17.1% stake—the single largest individual shareholding.

His entry into First Bank in 2022 reshaped its ownership structure and has been followed by aggressive reforms, including recapitalisation, restructuring, and debt recovery drives.

The Geregu divestment is not merely a portfolio reshuffle; it represents a reallocation of capital and influence to the financial services sector where Otedola sees greater upside and control.

With $750 million in unlocked liquidity, the move comes as Nigeria’s banking sector braces for a wave of recapitalisation and consolidation.

Why this matters
The transaction comes at a pivotal moment for Nigeria’s electricity market. The Federal Government recently announced a N4 trillion power-sector liquidity fund, with an initial N590 billion currently being disbursed.

This fund aims to settle GenCo debts, including obligations to Geregu Power, and stabilise cash flow in the sector.

Otedola’s exit, however, highlights a growing trend—early investors in Nigeria’s post-2013 power privatisation are reaching maturity in their investment cycle.

As valuations rise and liquidity improves, more exits are expected, signalling a new phase of capital recycling in the sector.

Simultaneously, legacy players are seeking fresh capital to position themselves for a more market-driven operating environment, with limited government support.

What you should know.
Otedola’s focus on banking could see First Bank become a key player in Nigeria’s recapitalisation wave.

Other electricity sector transactions are also in motion. Nairametrics understands that the sale of Eko Electricity Distribution Company to North South Power is nearing completion, with about N150 billion already received.
The changing ownership dynamics in the sector point to increased investor activity, restructuring, and improved liquidity conditions.
https://nairametrics.com/2025/12/29/femi-otedola-sells-majority-stake-in-geregu-power-in-750-million-deal/
The Geregu power plant divestment was a deft move on his part for liquidity purposes.

Snark aside, this is a shame and disgraceful plus has the potential to truncate Joshua's career. You don't survive that level of impact without serious spinal strains or broken ribs of some sort. G forces can be brutal and at the speed they were driving at, it can only be imagined how many G forces his body encountered at such a rapid deceleration event.

No ambulances, no health professionals nearby just a mob of people with phones viewing and road safety officials who probably lack training on how to properly carry accident victims.

Joshua will not be fighting anytime soon.

I don't have the luxury of time to start discussing in FULL about the legitimacy or not of the institutions that man attended over there in Nigeria before traveling to the United States. There are people who had broken educational backgrounds as kids and had to change school repeatedly due to the transfers of a parent from one location to another OR through being born to parents with low income which did NOT afford them the opportunity to go to school regularly.

Look, there are people who NEVER even attended secondary school back in the day such as the late Anambra Governor Chukwuemeka Ezeife who ONLY did his equivalent of what is now the GCE exams and passed to gain admission into the University after private studies. He NEVER attended a high school in Nigeria. I already told you in my last post about his investments in various financial assets in the financial markets. Stocks investments through your brokerage firm, mutual funds, derivatives, options, commodities, metals, etc. Those are some of the investments that investment savvy folks like Warren Buffett and more have invested in which bring in regular annual dividends for folks like Tinubu who has investments in financial markets assets in especially Nigeria, the United States. There's a whole load of Nigerian multimillionaires and billionaires who have investments and shares on the stock exchanges for the long-term such as the Forbes-listed USD billionaires, Aliko Dangote, to Otunba Mike Adenuga, Nigerian-Americans Bayo Ogunlesi and Tope Awotona, Femi Otedola, Folorunso Alakija, Abdulsamad Isiaku-Rabiu, etc.

We know that Warren Buffett doesn't have a lot of investments outside the U.S. stock markets which is his main investment vehicle for several decades now. He keeps compounding his ROI. That's the secret of highly intelligent investors worldwide.

HisaacPlus:
The First Five Commissioned Nigerian Military Officers

Before Nigeria gained independence, a few Nigerians broke barriers within the British-controlled Nigerian Regiment. These men became the first indigenous commissioned officers, laying the foundation for today’s Nigerian Army.

1️⃣ 2nd Lt. Laud (Louis) Victor Ugboma

Commissioned: 1948
State of Origin: Present-day Anambra State

Laud Victor Ugboma holds the distinction of being the first Nigerian ever commissioned into the military. However, his career was short-lived. By 1953, he had left the army—reports suggest this was linked to his strong nationalist views, which did not sit well with colonial authorities.

Because he exited the service before 1956—when the Nigerian Regiment formally became the Nigerian Military Force—he was not assigned an official service number (N/).
Died: 2002.

---

2️⃣ 2nd Lt. Wellington Duke Umoh Bassey (N/1)

Commissioned: April 1949
State of Origin: Present-day Akwa Ibom State

Wellington Bassey became the second Nigerian commissioned officer. When Ugboma left the army, Bassey automatically assumed seniority and was assigned Service Number N/1 in 1956.

He is widely honoured today, with Wellington Bassey Way in Uyo and WU Bassey Barracks in Abuja named after him.
Died: 1995.

---

3️⃣ 2nd Lt. Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi (N/2)

Commissioned: June 1949
State of Origin: Present-day Abia State

Aguiyi-Ironsi was a trailblazer in every sense. He became:

The first Nigerian Major

The first Nigerian battalion commander

The first Nigerian Major General

The first indigenous General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Nigerian Army in 1965

Following the January 1966 military crisis, he assumed leadership of the country, becoming Nigeria’s first Military Head of State.
He was assassinated during the July 1966 counter-coup.

---

4️⃣ 2nd Lt. Samuel Adesoji Ademulegun (N/3)

Commissioned: June 1949
State of Origin: Present-day Ondo State

Samuel Ademulegun rose through the ranks to become a Brigadier, one of the most senior officers of his time.
Sadly, he was among the officers killed during the January 1966 military mutiny.

---

5️⃣ 2nd Lt. Ralph Adetunji Shodeinde (N/4)

Commissioned: 1950

Ralph Shodeinde became the fifth Nigerian commissioned military officer. He later rose to the rank of Colonel and served as Head of the Nigerian Military Training College in Kaduna, where he helped shape future generations of officers.

He was also killed during the January 1966 military mutiny.

---

ℹ️ Note

All five men were commissioned at the rank of Second Lieutenant, which is the standard entry rank for commissioned officers.

---
These pioneers paved the way for Nigerian leadership in the armed forces—often at great personal cost. Their legacy remains a vital part of our national history.

I originally knew you were referring to Kofoworola Bucknor.

Be careful about old stories circulating online and STOP posting that nonsense by Kofoworola Bucknor because I remember that at the time she spoke granting spurious interviews, she was just being bitter like some women and even men do. Many things she said were NOT true BUT based on speculations simply because Tinubu removed her when she start being controlling because she is older than Tinubu. It was the old Afenifere that even imposed Kofo Bucknor on Tinubu as his Deputy Governor under AD based on some agreements. She was NEVER Tinubu's choice from the start.

The so-called $460k forfeiture was for a backlog of unpaid taxes which Tinubu and his team have already explained BUT some of you keep spinning it around because of bigotry.

As of 1993, the then Senator 'Bola Tinubu had 1.8 million USD in his 8 United States bank accounts and the United States authorities ensured that the backlog of unpaid taxes of $460,000 was paid out of the $1.8 million and the balance was returned to him after due investigations and TAX reconciliations. That money was made from his legitimate United States investments domiciled in those 8 bank accounts. The forfeiture was NOT from hard drugs or him being a dr*g baron like some highly IRRESPONSIBLE people gullibly are posting online and offline. Read more right BELOW.

As of 2002, the United States Embassy in Lagos through the then Legal Attache Michael Bonner CLEARLY stated that based on the information in the FBI's National Crime Information Center (NCIC) central database, the then Governor 'Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Lagos State has NEVER been arrested nor jailed for any criminal activities in the United States. So, where are you all getting this silly dr*g baron lies from? NCIC contains the names of everyone convicted for crimes in the entire history of the United States. Michael Bonner CLEARLY told the Nigerian Police investigators during the Goverment of former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2002 that Tinubu has NEVER had a criminal case. Nigerian leaders find it difficult to explain their wealth because it is not built on enterprise. It's always wishy washy and when you question it, they want to intimidate you. No clear story.

Wealth without enterprise.
Go back to my original post again. I added some information to it before I saw your post. I'm responding again to you because you are very civil in your response. I told you that Tinubu has investments in the financial markets and through the principle of compounding. Even as far back as 1993, Tinubu had 1.8 million USD in 8 of his United States bank accounts and it was investigated at that time by the United States authorities and found to be LARGELY proceeds of his investments lodged in those 8 bank accounts. Millions of people around the world like the now President 'Bola Tinubu, Warren Buffett, and more global investors who have financial education know where to put their money and gain returns on their investments.

The wealthiest people on earth are international investors and business people who understand financial markets and education NOT employees. They keep growing there wealth through compounding and other multiple streams of income and this is why those who do NOT know these investment keep getting envious of those who have. That envy is global human thing or weakness even in the United States.

Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN too was ahead of his time and from 1952 to 1959 when he was the Premier of the Old Western Region he and his team brought a lot of dynamic innovation into governance that the other 2 regions of North and East of Nigeria even started copying his development plans. The Industrial Estates in the North and Eastern regions came out of that healthy rivalry. The Ikeja Industrial Estate, Iganmu Industrial Estate, Ilupeju Industrial Estate, Oluyole Industrial Estate, etc, were his ideas for the industrial revolution in the Western region and Apapa was the point of export from those industrial estates. HID Awolowo too was an international business woman with strong tentacles in the textile industry and more. Same with Alhaji Abibatu Mogaji an powerful international business woman and mother of 'Bola Tinubu.

So, keep an open mind and learn how others have made legit money through hidden opportunities and time management
.

Back in the early 1990s, I purchased and read a book entitled: "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. That book literally shows with emphasis the different historical perspectives on how anyone can become wealthy through identifying opportunities early, and investing in people and enterprise. I will stop here because of my limited time.

They said that he was accountant at ExxonMobil and we asked how long did he work there and how much was all his monetary remuneration. They ran away. As a mobil staff allegedly, so he didn't touch his pay? Even if he didn't, so the money still dey?

His deputy in 1999 said that he had no vehicle pre-1999 ooooo: a whole rich man oooo

If you arw waiting for them acknowledge the truth about his source of wealth that everyone knows, then you will wait till eternity.
What you posted up there is totally FALSE and a shame on some of you youngsters posting irresponsibly here. How can you blatantly tell a LIE on an open forum like NL that Tinubu a man who a solid technocrat with Mobil Nigeria had no car pre-1999. You should be ashamed of yourself for deliberately spreading disinformation and the WORSE kind of defamation on this website!

Coincidentally, I have relatives and associates who worked with Mobil Nigeria (later renamed ExxonMobil) even at a time Tinubu worked there where he rose (as a Chartered Accountant and technocrat) to the senior rank of a Treasurer with Mobil Nigeria (now ExxonMobil). Do you know what it means to be a Treasurer in a multinational corporation like ExxonMobil?

Even the Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu was an investment banker and he rose to a senior rank of a Treasurer as well before joining the Government of Lagos State where as of 2007, he became the first boss of the hugely successful Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).

Last weekend, Nairaland members told me that Seyi Tinubu was born into wealth because his father was a billionaire. I asked them for the work his father did, they told me I was jealous, I should tell my dad to go and be a billionaire and all balablue explanations. They told me his father funded NADECO, one even said that if you know what his father made when he was in USA, the same man who told us he was a gypsy cab driver and he will never forget how a Naval officer slapped himhuh Then they told us he worked for Deloitte as an auditor, he worked for Mobil, he was a Senator 🤡🤡😂😂😂😂
Let me school you here.

You're NOT well-informed because you are younger in age and you're even sounding like a broken record over what you do NOT have a proper grasp of. As a man who voted during the June 12 1993 elections, I can confirm that Tinubu was very wealthy as of the time the June 12 struggle started. Everything those informed posters said about the now President 'Bola Tinubu's wealth is true
. He indeed took care of the accomodations of Nigerian exiles who fled especially to the United States in the 1990s to avoid the assasination squads of Abacha's Strike Force led by that insidious guy called Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, and Tinubu funded NADECO activities alongside others such as the great Itsekiri business mogul, High Chief Alfred Rewane who the military goons assassinated.

Tinubu also purchased a brand new private jet long ago (after year 2000) and he travelled regularly to the United States with his family in it to Chicago and other U.S. cities at a time some IRRESPONSIBLE youngsters and other people were posting fictitious information online that he CANNOT travel or fly to the United States. Rich people make a lot of money from investments in the financial markets and other assets and the man has stated this over and over again. The Code of Conduct under Goodluck Jonathan's Government tried Bola Tinubu in court and found NOTHING corrupt against him. So, just let him be for now.

And, we come full circle to the dilemma before us.

You have a loyal and trustworthy player (Wale Edun) who stayed with your club, Bola Tinubu FC, for 20yrs, to get into the champions league, only for him to be considered too old.

Emotional intelligence will suggest that you register him and bring him in for the last 10 minutes of each match to get the fans clapping for his service.

That is what we did for Steven Keshi in his last AFCON, 1994, where he was the captain but he was already too old to play beyond a few minutes. But he carried the trophy when we won.

Once again, thanks for listening to my own point of view too.
@TheBizGenious

My pleasure.

As usual, I ALWAYS enjoy your fresh perspectives professional submissions here.

I wish you a great week and New Year ahead as we head right into a fresh 2026 annual cycle.

It depends on age and weight..

5 to 6 weeks old broilers (about 1.5 to 2kg )can go for 6 to N7k.

Anything from 9 to 12 weeks ( 3 to 4kg)/is from
12 to 16k .

Anything from 14 to 25 weeks can reach
18 to N25k

Not everyone likes the baby, soft, boneless
chicken you bought for N8k.

In any sane society, assets acquired beyond your provable, legitimate income is already an iron-clad evidence. I am not sure same applies here.

A child that isn't into dry cleaning is coming home daily with load of cloths......... African proverb.
Very well said.

That proverb is a very simple anecdote to explain your brilliant post.

You do have a point and I thank you for your response.

I do understand the "no time to waste" phrase you made but then, the challenge is that there needs to be a balance between productivity and long term relationships.

For some of us who employ staff, when you have an aging staff who has been with you over 10yrs and you have an option to get a new model "hot in the head" professional, you think about it twice because it's not just about productivity but also valuing loyalty that shows your other employees that you are humane and someone to sacrifice long-term for.

Again, I understand your point and I validate it.
Succinctly stated... I like the very strong angles you brought in there. Those variables look very obvious but a lot of folks tend to ignore them.

In the event that aging members of staff have to be relieved from the workforce, then everyone MUST be on the same page.
That's where the knowledge of "emotional intelligence" has to come in for the true employees of labor because all spheres of life itself are based off of "relationships."

Prince Anthony Olufemi Olaseni Joshua of Sagamu... It's NOT your time to ease out. If AJ had sat in front, he would have been dead by now.

I MUST commend AJ for making it a habit to do his holidaying in Nigeria every December. He did it last year too (2024) and was at several locations such as the Ikoyi Polo Club among other locations interacting with folks on the professional and street levels.

My sincere condolences go out to the families of the 2 White gentlemen who passed on during the unfortunate accident on the highway.

If the Federal authorities have iron-clad evidence against this guy (who was former President Muhammadu Buhari's personal lawyer) then he (Malami or whatever his name is) MUST pay dearly for his financial infractions and the funds returned to the State.
