see how men till take over this thread.

I am still in my 20s but I will advise.

1. Do not marry a man because he is ready. Marry a man you love. Better to laugh in a keke than cry in a Lambo.
2. Marry go into marriage if you are not financially independent. Love if sweet but money maintain a home/marriage. If your husband is the only one providing up to salt and maggi, my dear, that home can never be sweet.
3. Do know discuss your relationship with your friends. There are so many things your friends shouldn't know about your boyfriend/husband.
4. Respect your man.
5. Put your self development first before him. If you do not develop he will dump you for another woman.
6. Take care of your body.
7. By all means try and stay independent of your parents before 25.
8. never open your legs for any man. \most man lose interest the moment they nag you.
9. Be a listener than a talker.
10. Always carry money with you whenever you go to visit any man or going for a date.
11. Don't make your love for a man be more than your love for yourself.
12. Try and have at least a skill or a business even if you have a certificate.
13. By all means try and go to school and graduate.
14. Never take back a cheat.
15. Make your health a priority.
16. Do not bend your rules for any man.
17. By all means have at least a Love Machine. You can get the cheaper one from Jumia. I have vendors too.
18. Always have your money. Whatever he gives you should be a bonus.
19. Do not date a man you are older than unless he is from a wealthy home.
20. By all means never give birth if you don't have any source of income.

Duckweed is the fastest-growing flowering plant on Earth, doubling its mass every 16 to 48 hours. On a dry-matter basis, it can contain up to 45% protein—meaning one acre of duckweed produces 5 to 10 times more protein than an acre of soybeans.

While it has been used as a staple "water vegetable" in Southeast Asia for centuries, Western "water management" companies treat it as a pest to be poisoned with expensive chemicals.

Patience & greed

Patience is key 🔑 when it comes to money

Ronal read was patient , Richard Fuscone was greedy. That’s all it took to eclipse the massive education and experience gap between the two

Do not be greedy when it comes to money

In what other industry does someone with no college degree , no training , no background , no formal experience and no connections massively outperform someone with the best education , the best training , and the best connections ?

Money doesn’t care about your degree

Soft skills are more important than the technical side of money

Finance seen as maths based skills

Savings and Investment

This is true in personal finance where you are told to have a six month emergency fund and save 10 percent ( 10 %) of your salary

It’s not that any of these things are bad or wrong . It’s that knowing what to do tells you nothing about what happens in your head when you try to do it - The Brain

Two topics impact - whether you are interested in them or not ; health or money

Scientific discoveries have replaced doctors old ideas about the human body works and virtually everyone is healthier because of it

The power of science in medicine

But has trial and error taught us to become better with our personal finances ? Are we less likely to bury ourselves in debt ? More likely to save for a raining day ? Prepare for retirement

TravelRe: US Stops Green Card, Citizenship Applications For Nigerians by AlphaTaikun: 8:46pm On Dec 21, 2025
miracle002:
The United States has placed a temporary halt on Green Card and citizenship applications linked to Nigerians.

This action follows a new expansion of Washington’s immigration restrictions and affects several other countries recently added to a broader travel control policy.

The suspension targets legal immigration filings, including applications for permanent residency and naturalisation.

Many of those affected are Nigerians already living in the United States who were in the process of adjusting their status or applying to become citizens.

Under the new directive, immigration authorities have stopped processing petitions from nationals of countries covered by the latest travel restrictions.

This includes both full bans and partial entry limits, depending on the country involved.

Nigeria is among the countries facing partial restrictions. As a result, immigration-related requests tied to Nigerian nationals are now subject to the pause, creating uncertainty for families, workers, and students awaiting decisions on their applications.

Other African countries impacted by the policy include Benin, Senegal, Ghana, Gambia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Côte d’Ivoire, among others.

Some nations face complete entry bans, while others, like Nigeria, are under limited restrictions that still affect immigration processing.

The move is part of a wider immigration clampdown introduced in recent weeks. Authorities have also frozen asylum decisions and halted the processing of certain visa and immigration requests from specific nationalities.

US officials say the decision is linked to a security review of immigration systems.

According to the immigration agency, “USCIS is conducting a comprehensive review of anyone from anywhere who poses a threat to the US, including those identified in the President’s latest proclamation to restore law and order in our nation’s immigration system.”

Taken together, the latest policy changes affect a large portion of African countries and several nations in Asia and other regions. Analysts estimate that more than half of Africa is now impacted in one form or another.

The development has sparked strong reactions among Nigerians at home and abroad. Many have criticised the decision, describing it as unfair and damaging to long-standing diplomatic and people-to-people ties between Nigeria and the United States.

Concerns have also been raised about the economic and social impact of the suspension, especially for families separated by immigration delays and professionals whose careers depend on legal residency status.

Former senator, Shehu Sani, reacted to the development, describing it as “a clear signal that migrants from developing countries are no longer welcome.”

Mindlog:
Haba! N20 suya back in 1982 when a bag of cement was less than N10!🙄
For more clarity, the N20 well-garnished and tasty suya was purchased in 1982 for 2 of us just as I earlier indicated. It was a random suya purchase I made (but later discovered it was too much and should have been reduced to a lesser quantity). But I learned some hard lessons there which I NEVER forgot till date because I have a retentive memory and took the rest of the suya back to base. A bag of cement was an average of N20 to N50 back in the early 1980s NOT N10.

For more historical insights about the cost of imported cows sold in Nigeria as of 1982 to 1984 time frame, read more right BELOW

While exact 1982 Nigerian prices vary, data from slightly later (1984) shows imported cattle averaged around N781 per head, with massive imports suggesting high demand, indicating prices in the early 80s were significant but significantly lower than today's rates, reflecting Nigeria's economic shifts and reliance on livestock.

Key Insights from the Era:
High Imports: Nigeria heavily imported cattle (over 500,000 heads in 1984 alone), showing a large gap between local production and urban demand, especially in the South.

Price Indicators: By 1984, the average price for an imported head of cattle was roughly ₦781, suggesting prices in 1982 were in a similar range or slightly lower due to economic factors.

Economic Context: The early 1980s saw Nigeria's economy shifting, impacting food and livestock costs, with high import bills becoming a concern.

So, expect a cow in 1982 Nigeria to cost a few hundred Naira, likely below N1000, but the exact figure depends on breed, location, and market conditions, according to data from studies like the one published on {Link: CGSpace}.

As civil servants, the fg gave them houses. To qualify for the opportunity however, they paid N100.
I read the FULL post and I'm aware of all that. I lived in the nearby Festac Town as well as of 1980 when the houses on 5th Avenue were still being built with some twin duplexes and duplexes already completed but NOT occupied by people.

Now, it was in 1979 and the houses were in Satellite Town and purchased through LOTS or BALLOTS.

You are not far from the truth. This disproves the fact that N100 will be enough to buy a house then.
@ppogha

I just read the full article again. So the place she is referencing is Satellite Town back in 1979 and the houses were sold in "LOTS" cheaper than the average cost of houses at that time, so, she definitely isn't telling LIES.

By 1982, austerity measures had started setting in (due to the economic contagion of United States' increase in interest rates which affected the global economy and caused many countries to default in paying their loans back to the foreign creditors) when I purchased one of the best tasting N20 suya which myself and my buddy couldn't even finish. So, I don't blame you or anyone for suspecting or doubting the credibility of her initial story.

Read more insights right BELOW:

Key Context from 1979
Government Scheme: The Satellite Town project was initiated by the Federal Military Government in 1976 as an affordable housing scheme to help low-to-middle-income Nigerians, particularly civil servants and employees of large companies, own homes.
Payment Structure: Staff of participating companies were expected to contribute a maximum of 20% of their gross annual income towards the cost of the building units, with the government covering a significant portion of the cost (47%).

Intentionally Low Cost: The houses were designed to be inexpensive, reflecting a period when the government was actively intervening in the housing sector to provide affordable options. One anecdotal report from that time mentioned a house being purchased for as little as N100 in 1979, although this may have been under a specific, highly subsidized arrangement.

That N100 was a lot of money back in 1979. I remember buying grilled meat (suya) for N20 back in 1982 and 2 of us could NOT even finish the large quantity.

However, she and her spouse purchased a house in Satellite Town in Lagos State for N100 down payment through LOTS or BALLOTS. That Satellite Town area originally belonged to the indigenes of that area before being leased from them and compensations paid accordingly.

As of the late 1960s my grandfather purchased a large plot of land (on lease) in Lagos for £20 and I saw the receipt back in the 1990s.
