Investment › Re: Business Name Or Limited Company — Which Is Right For You by AlphaTaikun: 4:56pm On Oct 27, 2025 |
KUDINAIRA: A few days ago, a client called sounding frustrated.
“Abeg,” he said, “can I just cancel this Limited Liability and register a Business Name instead? I heard this new FIRS tax wahala coming next year will be too much.”
He’s not the only one. Since talk about the new tax reforms started circulating, we’ve received several calls from business owners asking the same thing. Some are worried about compliance costs, while others are trying to understand what the new rules actually mean.
The truth? The right structure for your business depends on what you want to build — not what others are running away from. Let’s look at both sides clearly. 👉🏾 Business Name — Simpler, Faster, More Personal 👉🏾 A Business Name is the easiest way to get started. It’s affordable, quick to register, and perfect for small businesses, freelancers, traders, or anyone testing a new idea. 👉🏾 You can open a business bank account, issue receipts, and start trading almost immediately. The accounting is straightforward, and you don’t need an elaborate setup. 👉🏾 However, a Business Name means you and the business are one and the same. That has advantages — more flexibility, less paperwork — but it also carries risk. If the business owes money or faces a dispute, your personal property can be affected.
From a tax point of view, you’ll be assessed under Personal Income Tax (PIT). This works well if your earnings are moderate, but as profits grow, your tax bracket grows too. You also can’t deduct many business expenses, so managing records becomes important. 👉🏾 In short, a Business Name is great if you’re starting small, keeping things lean, or prefer full control without too many legal layers.
Limited Liability Company — Structured, Scalable, More Demanding 👉🏾 A Limited Liability Company (LLC) is a separate legal entity. It can own property, hire staff, sign contracts, and get loans — all in its own name. This protects your personal assets if anything goes wrong. 👉🏾 But that separation comes with extra responsibility. You’ll need to keep proper books, file annual returns, and comply with CAC and FIRS reporting. 👉🏾 In return, you gain structure, credibility, and room to grow. You can bring in partners, investors, or shareholders. You can deduct legitimate business expenses before paying Company Income Tax (CIT). 👉🏾 However, it’s not for everyone. If you’re still experimenting or managing small cash flows, the paperwork might feel like overkill.
The New Tax Reality With the new tax reforms taking effect soon, both structures will face greater scrutiny. 👉🏾 FIRS is digitising compliance — real-time reporting, VAT tracking, and tighter data systems. 👉🏾 For Business Names, this means less room for mixing personal and business income. For Limited Companies, it means more reporting and documentation. Neither is “tax-free.” Both require good record-keeping and discipline. The difference lies in how transparent and structured you want your operations to be. So, before you switch or downgrade out of fear, look at the bigger picture. The tax conversation shouldn’t drive your decision — your vision should.
Choosing What Fits You 👉🏾 If you’re just starting out, a Business Name may be perfect — low cost, simple, and flexible. 👉🏾 If you’re planning to scale, attract investors, or build a brand that lasts beyond you, a Limited Liability structure offers more room to grow. The key is honesty. What stage is your business in? What level of risk can you handle? What’s your long-term goal?
Final Word At Kudi Konsult, we believe there’s no one-size-fits-all structure. What matters is alignment — between your business goals, your resources, and your appetite for compliance. 👉🏾 Both Business Names and Limited Companies have their place. One gives you speed; the other gives you structure. One is lighter; the other lasts longer. 👉🏾 Whatever you choose, choose with understanding — and make sure your books, taxes, and systems can stand the coming changes. 👉🏾 Because in this new business era, the best structure isn’t the cheapest or the trendiest. It’s the one that truly fits where you’re going
For More Practical Principles and Business Support Services, visit; https://kudikonsult.com/business-name-or-limited-company-which-is-right-for-you/ Succinctly stated. An LLC is the best and requires good record keeping. |

There's one algerian guy on tradingnut interview said malaysian snr/snd is way more profitable than SMC/ICT , i laughed because SMC/ord.erb.lock is basically just a rebranded supply and demand trading , and malaysian snd/snr is just a regular snd/snr . I swear in the next 5-10 years people will come up with another name for snd. And of course that algerian guy is already selling mentorship You see mansor sapari is the father of "Malaysian" Supply and Demand but he himself learn the stuffs from ifmyante from Read the market. Ifymyante sell course for 25K USD, can you believe that. So technically it's not even malaysian, it should be called Irish SnD instead. Is Mansor sapari even profitable? i have no idea, but i know he and hanzo shadowcodes(his student) are making more money from affliate links and webinars than trading. Mansor Sapari teach a lot of advanced setups and concepts not available in english videos but he teach in malay and not that fluent in english, and since 3-4 years ago i see a lot of attempts by foreigners trying to extract information from mansor sapari and hanzo shadowcodes, not to learn to trade but to sell mentorship. Floky215: Nice comment, but I laughed when I saw tulumbu in your comment, that name alone destroyed your beautiful comment..
You want a man who want to grant presidential pardon, to drug lord, killers and criminals to come and fix Nigeria like the Singapore man did...? that man destroyed and set back Nigeria for another 50 years with this few period he snatched and grabbed power.
Very laughable, I would suggest you edit and remove that useless name from your beautiful comment. Look, the so-called pardon has NOT even been implemented yet for him to sign and have them released after the final screening of names by the Office of the Attorney General. It would be foolish for anyone to even release a lot of those people such as the drug traffickers and kidnappers even though the original Presidential Pardon list is from the former President Muhammadu Buhari era. Second, the man who is the current Nigerian President has ONLY been in office for exactly 2 years and 4 months out of a total of 4 years. His name being in my post is apt as the current Nigerian President. So, he and his team of advicers and Ministers (including all the Nigerian Governors and their Commissioners) MUST urgently adopt the Lee Kuan Yew mindset and deal ruthlessly with the enemies of Nigeria while ensuring that they treat Nigerians well and ensure that the lives of folks in Nigeria progressively improves just like Lee Kuan Yew did even though he was a dictator and Singaporeans complained initially about his policies. Nigeria is a country that requires "iron hands" NOT the excessive gentleman democrat President 'Bola Tinubu is irritatingly portraying. You have to be intentional and ruthless to achieve results in any country that's experiencing internal chaos from the minority foreign Fulas invasions, to crime solving satellite technologies, including attack and surveillance drones, to tackling corruption, to inflation, price monitoring, redrawing land and ethnic boundaries to merge ethnic groups in different State and regions to one another, eg. Yorubas or Kwara and Kogi States, etc. to merge with their kith and kin in the South West, the Tivs of the Middle Belt State can be merged in Benue State instead of being in 4 States, the Nupes of Northern Kwara to be merged with the Nupes of Niger State, etc, to ensure that marginalization stops. If you finally succeed in making your country an economically, educationally and socially advanced one as a leader or President, the world will give you a standing ovation despite being a "benevolent dictator" like the late Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore. I remember that the former Governor of Lagos State Babatunde Raji-Fashola visited Lee Kuan Yew in 2007 in Singapore before he died to tap from his wealth of experience and I was highly impressed. I'm NOT surprised that Babatunde Fashola who was the former Governor Bola Tinubu's Chief-of-Staff did quite well as the Governor by following the existing documented Lagos State Master Plan from the early 2000s of the then Governor Tinubu which led to the establishment of the Lekki Deep Sea Port in Ibeju-Lekki, the Lekki Free Trade Zone, LFTZ, the Dangote Petrochemical Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, and much more. |

Politics › Re: INTERPOL Arrests Suspects Linked To $562 Million Crypto Ponzi Scheme In Nigeria by AlphaTaikun: 6:08pm On Oct 23, 2025 |
Walklifeman: A coordinated international operation led by INTERPOL and AFRIPOL has led to multiple arrests in Nigeria, including suspects linked to a massive cryptocurrency-based Ponzi scheme believed to have defrauded investors across 17 countries of over $562 million.
While the names and nationalities of the arrested suspects were not disclosed, INTERPOL said the two-month sweep (July–September 2025) dubbed Operation Catalyst, targeted financial crimes connected to terrorism financing and money laundering across Africa.
INTERPOL described the crackdown as the first of its kind, leading to 83 arrests across six African nations, including Nigeria, Kenya, and Angola, with authorities identifying more than 160 persons of interest and tracing illicit funds worth around $260 million in both fiat and virtual currencies.
Nigerian arrests tied to terrorism and crypto fraud
In Nigeria, 11 suspected terrorists, including alleged senior members of extremist groups, were arrested as part of the coordinated action.
The security agency said investigators also uncovered links between Nigerian participants and a global cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme that masqueraded as a legitimate trading platform but was found to have connections to terrorist financing.
According to INTERPOL, the fraudulent scheme spanned at least 17 countries, including Cameroon and Kenya, and affected over 100,000 victims.
“Several high-value crypto wallets tied to the operation are now under forensic investigation, with authorities tracing transactions suspected to have been funnelled into terrorism-related activities,” it stated.
In addition, INTERPOL disclosed that a Red Notice has been issued for one of the scheme’s alleged masterminds, who is accused of scamming victims of roughly $5 million through an elaborate network of crypto wallets and exchange platforms designed to obscure money trails.
$600,000 seized, further asset recovery underway
Across the six countries, more than 15,000 individuals and entities were screened during the operation, leading to the seizure of approximately $600,000 so far.
INTERPOL said investigations are ongoing to trace and recover additional assets linked to both terrorism financing and financial fraud schemes.
The agency’s Secretary General, Valdecy Urquiza, described the effort as a milestone in cross-border policing collaboration.
“Operation Catalyst is the first time financial crime, cybercrime, and counter-terrorism units from multiple African countries have joined forces to target the financing of terrorism.
“By sharing intelligence and resources, we can more effectively disrupt financial flows that support terrorist activities,” Urquiza said.
AFRIPOL’s Executive Director, Ambassador Jalel Chelba, also highlighted the value of synergy among African law enforcement agencies in combating sophisticated financial crimes.
“The operation shows that when African security agencies unite, they can offer a decisive and coordinated response to complex and evolving security threats,” Chelba noted.
Operation Catalyst was backed by data and cyber intelligence support from private-sector partners, including Binance, Moody’s, and Uppsala Security.
What you should know Earlier in August, INTERPOL, in collaboration with authorities across Africa, had announced the arrest of 1,209 suspected cybercriminals and dismantled 11,432 malicious online infrastructures in one of the largest crackdowns on cybercrime in the region.
The operation, codenamed Serengeti 2.0, ran from June to August 2025 and led to the recovery of $97.4 million linked to online fraud targeting nearly 88,000 victims.
The operation brought together investigators from 18 African countries and the United Kingdom to tackle high-impact cybercrimes, including ransomware, business email compromise (BEC), and online scams—threats highlighted in INTERPOL’s latest Africa Cyberthreat Assessment Report.

Politics › Re: UK Supreme Court Dismisses P&ID Appeal, Upholds £43m Award To Nigeria by AlphaTaikun: 5:56pm On Oct 23, 2025 |
joelbooks: The supreme court in the United Kingdom (UK) has dismissed the appeal filed by Process & Industrial Development (P&ID) that the £43m award in favour of Nigeria should be paid in Nigerian currency and not pound sterling.
In a unanimous decision delivered by a five-member panel on Wednesday, the UK supreme court held that P&ID should pay the £43m award in pound, the currency used by Nigeria to pay its lawyers in the case.
The justices in the panel are Robert Reed, Dame Simler, David Richards, Ben Stephens, and Patrick Hodge.
P&ID had entered into a deal in 2010 to build a gas processing plant in Calabar, Cross River state, but the company said the agreement collapsed because the Nigerian government did not fulfil its end of the bargain.
The Nigerian government alleged that the gas deal was a scam conceived to defraud the country.
But P&ID denied the allegation and accused the Nigerian government of “false allegations and wild conspiracy theories”.
Consequently, P&ID took legal recourse and secured an arbitral award against the country.
On January 31, 2017, a tribunal ruled that Nigeria should pay P&ID $6.6 billion as damages, as well as pre and post-judgment interest at seven percent, which later amounted to $11 billion.
In October 2023, Robin Knowles, justice of the commercial courts of England and Wales, halted the enforcement of the award by upholding Nigeria’s prayer that it was obtained by fraud and in violation of section 68 of the English Arbitration Act 1996.
The judge found that P&ID paid bribes to Nigerian officials involved in the drafting of the gas supply and processing agreement (GSPA) in 2010.
He also found that P&ID was illegally in possession of Nigeria’s privileged legal documents during the arbitration hearings.
The judge ordered that the company pay £43 million in compensation to Nigeria as legal fees and disbursements.
Displeased with the judgment, P&ID approached the UK court of appeal.
One of the issues raised in the P&ID appeal bordered on whether the lower court was wrong to order the £43 million legal cost to be paid in British pound sterling and not in naira.
The company argued that Nigeria funded its legal services by exchanging naira from its consolidated revenue fund.
In July 2024, the UK court of appeal dismissed the appeal of P&ID and held that since Nigeria paid the legal costs in pound sterling, the cost order should be paid in the same currency.
THE JUDGEMENT
Delivering the judgment, the UK supreme court held that there are no reasons for the award costs to be awarded in any other currency aside from sterling since English solicitors charged in that currency and the disbursements were made by Nigeria in sterling.
The supreme court panel refused to investigate how Nigeria funded the legal costs after P&ID argued that Nigeria converted naira to sterling to meet the financial obligations to its English solicitors.
The supreme court rejected the argument of P&ID that if the award sum is paid in sterling, Nigeria “would gain a substantial windfall at its expense because the sterling sums which Nigeria paid to its solicitors were the equivalent of approximately 25 billion naira when they were paid whereas they are now the equivalent of 95 billion naira”.
The panel held that depreciation of naira has “resulted in a substantial diminution of the domestic purchasing power of the naira in Nigeria since 2019 and especially since 2023”.
“For all these reasons, which are essentially the same as those given by the Court of Appeal, we conclude that Knowles did not err in law in the exercise of his discretion,” the supreme court said.
“We add as a postscript that, contrary to P&ID’s submission, Nigeria does not enjoy a large windfall from this decision. The depreciation of its currency internationally has resulted in a substantial diminution of the domestic purchasing power of the naira in Nigeria since 2019 and especially since 2023.
“Since the hearing, the court has received submissions from the parties on costs. We would dismiss the appeal and award Nigeria asetheir costs on the standard basis.”
https://www.thecable.ng/uk-supreme-court-dismisses-pid-appeal-affirms-nigerias-43m-award/ That's another awesome judicial victory for Nigeria. The thrust of the matter is that due diligence has to kick in when officials engage in signing future contracts with foreign technical partners and then ruthlessly following through to prevent future court cases. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: US National Debt Surpasses A Record $38 Trillion by AlphaTaikun: 5:49pm On Oct 23, 2025 |
FreeStuffsNG: US national debt surpasses a record $38 trillion The figure amounts to roughly $111,000 of debt for every person in the US, think tank says.
The United States’ national debt has topped $38 trillion, as the gap between government spending and revenues in the world’s largest economy expands at a rapid pace.
The US Department of the Treasury included the staggering figure in its latest report on the nation’s finances, with the debt standing at $38,019,813 as of Tuesday.
The figure amounts to roughly $111,000 of debt for every person in the US, and is equivalent to the value of the economies of China, India, Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom combined, according to the Peter G Peterson Foundation, a Washington, DC-based think tank.
The milestone comes a little over two months after debt in the US surpassed $37 trillion in mid-August. The debt stood at $36 trillion in November 2024, and $35 trillion that July.
Michael A Peterson, CEO of the Peter G Peterson Foundation, said US lawmakers were failing to live up to their “basic fiscal duties”.
“Adding trillion after trillion to the debt and budgeting-by-crisis is no way for a great nation like America to run its finances,” Peterson said in a statement.
“Instead of letting the debt clock tick higher and higher, lawmakers should take advantage of the many responsible reforms that would put our nation on a stronger path for the future.”
In May, Moody’s ratings downgraded the US government’s credit rating from Aaa to Aa1, citing the failure of successive administrations to “reverse the trend of large annual fiscal deficits and growing interest costs”.
The move followed similar downgrades by rating agencies Fitch and Standard & Poor’s in 2011 and 2023, respectively.
While there is debate among economists about how much debt the US can take on before triggering a financial crisis, there is widespread agreement that the current trajectory is unsustainable.
In a 2023 analysis, economists at the Penn Wharton Budget Model estimated that financial markets would not tolerate US debt levels above 200 percent of gross domestic product (GDP).
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has estimated that the debt could reach 200 percent of GDP by 2047, in part due to sweeping tax cuts included in US President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act. https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2025/10/23/us-national-debt-surpasses-a-record-38-trillion Trump's 5 million USD Golden Visa policy will just NOT gain traction for generating funds to take care of the debt repayments as earlier intended. |

FreeStuffsNG: If you devote the time you use to insult people to getting real education, you will benefit greatly. You are completely ignorant about national debt in relation to deficit/surplus.
Below is the history of their national debt and surplus. Obama who came right in the middle of global meltdown crash and ruled for 8 years added $9 trillion while Trump, who inherited a recovered US economy in terms of deficit from Obama era , ruled for 4 years added almost same amount of a whopping $7 trillion!
On deficit, USA, reached its worst deficit under same Trump. For 4 years, he was practically borrowing , adding almost zilch to their economy and completely reversed all the recovery Obama made!
And in just few months and less than 1 year, he has added $2 trillion to the debt he inherited. His results are showing that he is clueless on how to run an economy and looks like he has a PhD on Debt Ballooning & US National Economic Sinking Impressive breakdowns. |

Islie: Daily Trust reports that the Human rights activist, who was arrested at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, led the #FreeNnamdiKanuProtest.
He had fled when the police arrested other protesters.
Fielding questions from journalist, the Force spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, a Chief Superintendent of Police, who confirmed his arrest, said he was nabbed for violating a court order barring the #FreeNnamdiKanu protest.
Hundeyin stated that those arrested earlier disclosed that it was the former presidential candidate that led them to the protest ground.
The force spokesman said Sowore would be arraigned in court immediately.
“He was arrested in contravention of a court order. So, if we move from fair to charge some people to court, and leave the person that led them to commit that more like their leader, the elite protester who told them and took them into the restricted area.
“And that’s why in the spirit of fair play and to ensure that justice is served, Omoyele Showere was arrested today. And like the others too, he wouldn’t spend time with us, he wouldn’t spend up to 24 hours with us.
“Once, we wrap up the charges, he’s going to be prosecuted. In fact, if everything goes right, our plan is to ensure that he’s prosecuted today. He goes to court today. Can people see that this criminal knows he's guilty as charged and he has no defense to put up. Firing his team of lawyers is part of his delay tactics. I hope the judge will give him an ultimatum to conclude his defense within a particular time, if he fails within the time frame, he will be sentenced straight up. You're the only one who made SENSE here so far. This is a delay tactic which doesn't help him. There's enough incriminating audio and video evidence showing he did all the heinous activities leading to the death of innocent people from his recorded broadcasts and it's important that the judiciary should quickly round off this vexatious case that has dragged on for too long and have Nnamdi sentenced instead of allowing creeps such as Omoyele Sowere (who should be behind bars himself) to take advantage of this issue for clout chasing. That other guy Simon Ekpa has already been jailed in Finland and it's very shameful that with all the massive video , audio and text-based EVIDENCE that abounds, the court cases around this detained secessionist guy called Kanu (who made a lot of territorial expansionism, inciting comments and hate speech towards other Nigerian ethnic groups while calling for the elimination of security officials and the burning down of strategic locations in Lagos State during the EndSARS protests of October 20, 2025 via his live pirate radio station broadcast from the United Kingdom) hasn't been concluded yet. There's a viral 2022 Investigative documentary video of Nnamdi Kanu from the "BBC Global Disinformation Team" (which EXPOSED the terror activities of ipob paid online troll farms and members living in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America in spreading online disinformation while destabilizing Nigeria and the communities of the South East of Nigeria through beheadings, assassinations) showing Nnamdi introducing Simon Ekpa and other males and females as a members of his secessionist gang, yet the incidious Emmanuel Kanu (Nnamdi's younger brother) tells LIES that Ekpa is not their member. Foreign Affairs › Re: Sanae Takaichi Elected Japan’s First Female Prime Minister by AlphaTaikun: 4:24pm On Oct 23, 2025*. Modified: 5:19pm On Oct 23, 2025 |
RaySimran: Staunch conservative Sanae Takaichi was elected Japan’s first female prime minister by parliament on Tuesday, in a landmark moment for the historically patriarchal country where both politics and workplaces are dominated by older men.
Takaichi steps into the role as Japan faces mounting economic woes and a fractured politics, and just days before US President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit.
The 64-year old Takaichi, who is a heavy metal drummer and motorcycle enthusiast, grew up in Nara near Osaka. Her arrival at the pinnacle of Japanese politics tops a remarkable rise, from TV presenter to flag bearer of traditional and nationalist ideals.
In her first news conference as prime minister on Tuesday night, Takaichi focused heavily on economic issues and advancing Japan’s interests, saying that she will “work boldly and tirelessly, unafraid of change” for “the nation and its people.”
A protege of assassinated former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Takaichi has laid claim to his conservative legacy. She becomes the fourth prime minister to hold office since he stepped down in 2020, reflecting the political deadlock in the world’s fourth largest economy
Like Abe, she supports revising Japan’s pacifist constitution and has visited a controversial war shrine that includes the names of those convicted of war crimes during World War II – both issues that spark anger in neighboring China and South Korea, who are also vital trade partners for Japan.
She also opposes same-sex marriage, and a growing movement to allow married couples to use separate surnames.
Some of these stances, such as her hawkish views on China, could complicate Japan’s regional relationships. And within Japan, some worry about her economic proposals – to spend big and cut taxes – as the country struggles with sky-high inflation and living costs.
She has openly aspired to be like Margaret Thatcher, the first woman to become British prime minister – known as the “Iron Lady,” a nickname that has since been used for Takaichi herself
“Like Thatcher, (Takaichi) is a conservative and she is also a woman in a male-dominated world,” said Shihoko Goto, vice president of programs at the Foreign Policy Research Institute.
“That said, Thatcher was then – Japan is now. It’s facing a great deal of change, it’s facing a lot of internal domestic pressure … She will be expected, first and foremost, to deal with those immediate threats.”
In her news conference Tuesday night, Takaichi said that she will “build a strong Japanese economy and protect Japan’s national interests at all costs through diplomacy and security.”
Vowing to “reclaim Japan’s diplomacy and let it flourish at the center of the world,” Takaichi said that “Japan faces a major crisis from within and without. There is no time to stand still.”
She noted that she will soon be meeting with Trump, adding that she will work to “elevate Japan-US relations to new heights.”
Japan’s neighbors offered lukewarm responses to news of her win on Tuesday, with China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs saying it had “noted the election results” and hoped for a “mutually beneficial relationship.”
A South Korean foreign ministry spokesperson similarly promised to continue cooperating with “Japan’s new Cabinet,” without naming Takaichi, according to news agency
Unlike many of her male peers, Takaichi doesn’t come from a political dynasty. She was born in Nara, a city frequented by tourists for its wild deer, to a father who worked for a car company and a mother who was a police officer.
Before entering politics, she interned for a US Democratic congresswoman and worked as a TV commentator.
Since joining the ruling LDP party, Takaichi has been elected as a member of parliament nine times. She’s held multiple cabinet posts, including on gender equality and demographic issues, and chaired the party’s Policy Research Council. Most recently, she served as minister of economic security under the administration of Fumio Kishida.
She was elected leader of the LDP earlier in October, beating more moderate candidates. It suggested a rightward turn for the scandal-hit party, which suffered bruising losses in the last two parliamentary elections after discontented voters switched to new far-right groups.
But now as prime minister, she’ll have to answer to the populace of 120 million Japanese. Tackling the high price of goods will be one of her first challenges; for instance, the price of rice, a staple food in Japan, has almost doubled from last year. AndroBlaze: To think some black Africans still praise this man like like he is some sort of Mandela.
Anyway thankfully, history does not forget. Indeed, you put it succinctly. This is the reason why I created a thread for this. It's surprising to me as well that a large number of the younger generation (especially those born within the last 30 years) do NOT know first-hand the ruthless nature of Gaddafi. They are looking for heros all about hence they latch on to the memories of often dictatorial past rulers to fill in their fantasies for good governance. Those of us who are older from back in the day knew Gaddafi to be a major sponsor of terror groups with the millions of USD of oil money Libya made and he was very vocal in making inciting comments and this is why after the Lockerbie PanAm bombing Gaddafi was fingered as a sponsor. The iconic Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore was himself a ruthless dictator in his city-state but fortunately his was that of a "benevolent dictatorship" hence he put a lot into transforming his country from an underdeveloped to an advanced country while being ruthless on crimes such as hard drugs trafficking, Indian hemp trafficking and other vices through the death penalty. That should be the ideal Nigerian model or model adopted by all subnationals. The Nigerian President 'Bola Tinubu has to adopt this strategy instead of being too nice otherwise he would fail like the others before him who treated foreign Fula herdsmen and banditry with levity. Any corruption or crimes should be treated via capital punishments the Singapore way.

Putinofrussia: The active seaports in Nigeria include the Lagos Port Complex and Tin Can Island Port in Lagos; Rivers Port and Onne Port in Rivers State; Delta Port in Warri; and Calabar Port in Cross River State. The Lekki Deep Sea Port is also a major, recently added facility.
As for Onne Port Complex,it is situated on the Bonny River Estuary along Ogu Creek. It is one of the largest Oil and Gas Free Zone in the world supporting exploration and production for Nigerian activities.
The Port accounts for over 65 percent of the export cargo through the Nigerian seaport. Multiple operations are carried out in the port in addition to the Oil and Gas and they include general cargoes, bulk cargoes (dry and wet), oil well equipment, containerised cargoes, and other logistics services providers.
Also known as Port Harcourt 3, Onne is the third largest seaport in Nigeria. Your post is LARGELY SUCCINCT and fact-based BUT there are NO Nigerian seaports in the Eastern Ports (outside Lagos State). What exists are river ports built along shallow rivers of various depth that need constant annual dredging that are very expensive thereby adding to operational costs. The ports located in Warri, Calabar, Port Harcourt, Onne, Onitsha, etc, are all River Ports NOT Sea Ports because they are located or built along the RIVERS (Calabar river for Calabar Port, river Niger for Onitsha Port, Bonny river for Onne Port, etc) and NOT the SEA (or OCEAN). Infact the ONLY true seaport in Nigeria is the visionary Lekki Deep Sea Port in Ibeju-Lekki which the current Nigerian President 'Bola Ahmed Tinubu conceptualized with Tolarams Group of Singapore back in the early 2000s. It's very annoying that several media outlets such as Punch, AIT, and several journalists keep making this error of referring to River Ports as Sea Ports thereby confusing their readers and listeners. It shows how low the practice of journalism has sank if this basic knowledge is NOT passed to journalism students while in journalism school. |

Ttalk: Stop lying, Federal government doesn't charge different cost in different ports in Nigeria.
Any extra cost incurred can only be attribute to local charges which has nothing to do with the unified charges by FG across all the ports in Nigeria.
You guys have been misrepresenting information regarding why other ports are not being patronized like the ones in Lagos Your did very well in calling these shameless liars out with FACTS. |

Gudiza: Sure, Sure. I myself might have a fixation to maps. Overtime, I have realized these boundaries are just an illusion. They create rigid structures in our minds that work mostly for administrative purposes on paper but are unrealistic on ground especially in population & demography. So I find that a lot of borders both local & international, have same people split all over. I should also point out i said mis-information & not dis-information which is like much worse. Well said. Colonialism and the 1885 Berlin partitioning of Africa really did a lot of damage to DISTINCT ethnic groups in Africa with the Hausas finding themselves in Nigeria and Niger under the British and French, the Yorubas found themselves in Nigeria, Dahomey (Benin Republic) and German Togoland under the British, French, and German Colonial authorities. I see no reason why the Hausas of Nigeria and Niger Republic cannot be merged into one country and do away with those Colonial artificial borders which MUST NEVER be seen as sacrosanct. The United States-based academic, Farooq Kperogi is a Bariba from Kwara State (where his ethnic group has 2 out of the 16 LGAs while the Nupes have 2 LGAS as well and the remaining 12 LGAs are Yoruba LGAs) but the larger population of Baribas are ALSO in Northern Benin Republic. Enjoy the rest of your day. |

Gudiza: I guess we do. Couldn't resist the seeming misinformation spread.. There was NO intention to spread disinformation. Decades back, I had my high school education in the North of Nigeria (an elite high school) so I know a lot of guys from the far North and Middle Belt till date despite being a Lagos-based when I was in Nigeria. I didn't even realize that Cameroon has a small Kanuri population until you pointed it out which I appreciate. My fixation over the years has always been that the epicenters of the Kanuris are Nigeria and Chad. |

Gudiza: This is absurd! What do you know? Even a simple google will tell you there are more Kanuris in Niger than Chad. If you've ever come across a map before you can tell that with the position of kanuris right at the corner of Nigerian border, there's no way they wouldn't have populations in Niger, Chad & Cameroun. Look, learn to simply state your points WITHOUT attempting to use invectives or speak condescendingly. We're all learning new things everyday. I've known for many decades now that Nigeria and Chad are the major epicenters of where you have the majority of Kanuris around the Lake Chad Region. In Chad, the Kanuris are known as the Kanembu. If Kanuris ever exist in Niger Republic then they are definitely a minority and there are even conflicting figures about their population in Niger Republic on Wikipedia and on AI. Aside from my prior knowledge of global geopolitics, I know more of these due to the FACT that I've got friends right from the early 1980s till date who are well-read and prominent Kanuri folks, and Old Borno State right into Chad have always been Kanuriland. Period. |
