I am not there all the time especially when they are eating... The rot has set in - that is a fact of life. She eats junk and gives the kids junk.

We are in the UK - you cannot force kids to do much... They now have a sweet tooth and are used to junk; it is not easy to change.

I cannot change the missus my advice and warnings - she has brought her Nja mentality and food habits; moreover, money now dey to eat any old thing.

I am mad about it because it gives a headache when I have to feed them or watch them eat sh1t or come home to one of them whispering that they have had KFC or something like that!

She had the children before they came over and did not take my advice and warnings - you can make it what you like!

She also got into hot bother with the school - my mistake; leave Nja people alone to their nonsense, I have learnt my lesson.
‘ leave 9ja people with their nonsense’ …….not aware KFC, McDonalds etc - junk experts - are 9ja franchises.

A close fellow had his child dehumanised by the school and secretly put on the Autism spectrum class and activities w/o parental knowledge or consent.
The child will go to school and come back with wounds.

Yes, I carry them along, and I have been receiving lectures online and yet they told me not to come any more
That’s not helpful on the part of the school.
Know of Uni of Chester whose students got delayed for months on similar cases and yet were supported all the way and still meet up with physical classes.
I guess, things change every term time and things are getting stricter.

I’m a newly qualified social worker. This is 💯. Spot on

My 7 yr son was asked to write a composition in school and the young lad wrote a Robin Hood kind of story. How the thief would rob Amazon warehouse and bring home toys and bikes for his children. He went on by saying the the thief was caught and he ended up being his dad. While the schools acknowledged his creativity I was invited for a chat about my past and a fresh background check was conducted on me. The young lad was also questioned and he told them he was simply trying to portray the extent his dad would go because he loves them. Matter still nor end till I called their bluffs. Meanwhile I wasn’t living in the same county with my family as at the time.

With that in mind, I ensured I erased the hard-steel naija parenting style from their memories to avoid future invitations using those steps you mentioned above
Hmmmmm.
Invitation to DSS office kwa 🤣

Good afternoon famz,

I am going through alot of mental stress right now, UKVI has really dealt with me so badly without committing any crime. I applied for a student visa, priority to be precise, bio was done on 20th of January, decision was made on 23rd January and I got BRP mail on 26th of January but could you believe that since then ukvi refused to send my passport back to TLS for collection, I have been battling with this for long, I keep going to IKEJA TLS but the truth is even the so called TLS are not ready to help and now my school told me not to bother coming again even if my passport is return back to me. Right now I want to ask, can ukvi be sue and also how can I request for my IHS refund? Please house help me
This usually happens during rush intake seasons.
Head to the UK student thread and you ll see someone who’s gone thru this and conquer in that thread.

Yes, I think it is.

I sincerely need all the help I can get as I have just been made aware by the Family Support Worker that he has made a referral to LADO. I am just confused and worried because of my profession, I don’t know what to do.
Please anyone with a useful information that can help my cause kindly reach out. These people are seriously on my case even though I have not been found wanting, it is even my wife that is even stricter with the children. Now they are trying to attack my career, to destroy everything I have laboured for…
You would come out of it better.
Keep calm and approach professionals who are church members, friends, networks etc for professional advice.

Those social workers are evil, they gave 2 kids recording devices to monitor the kids' conversation with their parents and instructed the kids not to inform their parents about the devices. The whole thing started when the kids said in school that one was beaten and the other one was asked to face the wall. The parents were invited and questioned, but refuted the allegations. Days later, the kids were given recording devices with chargers.
It’s an agenda.
New immigrants need to be careful.

How many black parents are killers or got flagged in any of the high profile cases?

Meanwhile, schools n SW are usually quick to raise eyebrows when cases of safeguarding happens to black parents while looking the other way when e reach their people turn.

Hello all,

Please this is a long read. Pardon me please, I am anxious and scared. Please I need your advice because “I nor know where these people dey carry me go”.

I brought my children into the UK last year and we have been living together as a family since then including my wife. On the last day of their first term in school, my daughter who has learning needs was reluctant to leave school because on that day, the school was having an end of term party but surprisingly, no ticket was sent to us to purchase for her save for our other two children. Her favourite activity is dancing, so she was upset and crying when I went to pick her knowing that she will not be a part of the party. When asked what the problem was she stated that Aunty beat her, the school safeguarding lead called me and we had a meeting where I shared the possible reason why my daughter is upset with her, also informing her that no Aunty lives with us that she was upset because she had realised she will not be a part of the party. However, the school raised a safeguarding concern on the issue.

Fast forward to the last day of last term. My son (second child) who was 7years old as at the time, was on the queue going for lunch when a teacher went to call him under the pretence of going to show him something in the office. On getting to the said office, the school safeguarding lead was there, they started questioning the boy, shockingly he told them that we had a naughty room at home that it was the shed in the garden and alleged that he normally gets locked there when he is naughty (he later said he made it up). A second safeguarding concern was raised with the Police & Social services informed. When my wife went to pick the children, she was informed that she could not pick them because they were carrying out their investigation. The Police & Social worker came to our house checked round and stated that there was no evidence and dismissed the case with the Social Worker recommending and documenting that we shouldn’t be forceful in making the children do their home work in a way that will harm them, we agreed, signed the document and they left.

The following week the Social Worker called that she was coming to the house, we asked her to come. On getting to the house she stated that the school is pressurising her to do her assessment and recommend a family support worker for us but that we have a choice of declining and if we do, should anything happen in future, they will say they offered to help us but we refused so we had no choice than to accept. About a week later the Family Support Worker called, introduced himself and stated that he would like to pay us a visit which he did. He also did his assessment which he shared with me but surprisingly I noticed that in the first allegation raised they had also added that my daughter said Aunty beat her and dad hit her which was totally different from what the school safeguarding lead had shared with me.

Now I am seriously concerned because the school keeps coming up with different issues and asking for further referrals to be done. They alleged that my son stated twice last year he was hungry even though they have breakfast before leaving the house and we pay for school dinner for them. We have now introduced packed lunch for all three of them despite the fact that the last child is 4years old and supposed to be having free lunch in school.

Please kindly help a worried soul. I need advice on how to take up this issue to prevent the unthinkable from happening. Thanks for your patience
What kinda school do they attend ?
Private ?
Catholic or others ?

Thanks. I just went through it. My question is it's my dependant that is working as carer, pls the phrase below is not clear " If you’re eligible, your dependants can also get a refund. You must include them in your application".
If my dependant is applying for refund, will it cover me the primary applicant who is a student and will her own also cover for the children. Thanks
This works same way your visa works - main applicant applying and all your dependants enjoying same privilege courtesy of main applicant.
Just make sure you have everyone’s IHS handy, and your payslip covering 6 months.

When you get to that bridge you ll cross it, as the application is simple and straightforward. All of you will be included in primary applicant’s application via your IHS

Hi all, I just need some advice from experienced people in the house. My visa expired on the 30th of January 2023. I have applied for a renewal which is not out yet my biometrics is in the 9th of February. I told my employer on the 30th of January that my visa was expiring that day but I have submitted another application.
Naso wahala start. Calls from head office HR, that I currently don’t have visa and cannot work. They immediately put me on leave without pay starting from 31st until visa is sorted. I gave the HR my application reference number for them to carry out chef themselves, them no gree. Meanwhile I was the one that informed my manager just to be safe. It was not as if they reached out first that my visa was about to expire.
The latest one now is that they set up disciplinary action against me that I don’t have papers to work in the UK. I’m confused because everything just went out of proportion. The email I got says I can attend with a trade union or a work colleague and that it might lead to immediate dismissal and all.
I just need heads up on how to tackle this and if I really need to take someone with me for the disciplinary action.
Thank you all.
Which industry are you in ?
You definitely need to go with someone - not just anybody but an industry expert.

So students can't switch again? They also need to ensure all companies have sponsorship or make it easier to obtain one if we are keeping it a buck

Can't be complaining of labor shortages and be putting restrictions everywhere. Canada and Australia removed those restrictions and are currently enjoying it so

UK schools should stop pretending to care about students who don't get access to public funds and are affected by cost of living issues too. Massive fees, increase in cost of living and no cushion to fall back on, how them expect people to do am?
They ve always been like that - use one hand to beat you and another to pet you.
They are in a dilemma between reducing immigration and increasing labour / improving the economy

If Dokita is so determined to change her career, she needs to consider some factors and make necessary decision after extensive research on the new industry(ies) she is eyeing. These factors are in no particular order.
- Pay
- Time flexibility cos of her new family (on-site, offsite or hybrid role)
- Self fulfilment
- Retirement
At this age, trial n error should be a thing of the past.

I just finished my masters and I've exposed to two opportunities. A professional job in data analytics but doesn't sponsors and a care job that sponsors.

Pls which would be my best shot considering I'll love to stay in UK abd as well I love the analytics job.
Your instinct already has the answer but since you are here, you might as well consider these pointers.
Since you love it here, how do you maintain your stay in here w/o COS considering your present visa category?
Can you afford to jettison the care offer, take up the DA offer and keep searching for COS in that professional career path?

Hello.

It's Urgent

I am leaving my apartment and my landlord is refusing to give me the Last year Deposit because moulds grew in the house. The house is quite old and susceptible to moulds. I tried to clean but at a time, the mould overtook everywhere.

The Landlord is arguing that I should have ventilated the house enough. I should open my window so that cold will kill me?

She's arguing I should repaint. I had someone take a quotation and they charged 800£.

Please I need advice.
