They are crooks when it comes to biz
Wives are usually full time housewives - only one source of income but backed up by a closely knit Arab community.

They the ones living the ‘life’ with flashy cars.
They don’t think twice when breaking the law, knowing they got a solid community behind ‘em

That transaction never happened.

Hello guys. I realised that. Most students in the uk cant do side hustles like fiverr, upwork and freelancing or uber because its against the visa rule. Why is this so?

And how can the visa guys tell that you are doing freelancing work?.
‘Why is this so?’ Because of the highlighted. Visa rule says 20hour/week

Thru your tax n NI remittances.

If you have a gig or someone willing to pay you by cash (like most Arabs), then you are covered.

For me I have crafted on paper, a 'decision tree' more complex than that tattooed on the fictional Michael Scofield when he is about to enter Fox River state penitentiary to save his brother.

You sure your decision tree on paper aren’t puncturable by their policies and regulations?

Good afternoon gurus.
A family of five came in December 2021. His wife is a PhD student, and her husband has been doing care jobs for the past six months. They are about to apply for an IHS refund for a family of five.

The care home wants to give her husband CoS, which will change his Visa to tier 2.

They are worried because of other information from people, and I decided to hear from our experienced brothers and sisters here.

1) If her husband applies for tier 2, will they still get the IHS refund?
2) Is it advisable he continues with the dependant Visa till they get all the refunds?
Get your refund first b4 applying for another visa route. So, technically,
1. No
2. Yes

I know they were in the game 2 to 3 years before that time. But those years they didn’t blow up like they did in 2006 upwards to 2011. Even tho Dbanj and Psquare were dropping songs, but the likes of Remedies, Danfo Drivers, Marvellous Benji were holding down the industry those aforementioned years. Dbanj blew up with Why me in 2006, while Psquare blew up big time with Do Me in 2007. That’s what I’m driving at.
No need to argue since ‘blow up’ is subjective

These guys once held down the Nigerian music industry back in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. Their careers started nosediving from 2012. Notwithstanding they were awesome and shaped the music industry into what it is today.
For those you mentioned, they ve held it down before then like 3 to 4 years b4 2006.
2004 was when Dbanj’s/Don J’s first single ‘Tongolo’ was banging and also P Square’s first single ‘Senorita’ 2002.
Now, if you decide to go a decade earlier when Remedies (Idrees, Tony T and Eddie), Maintain (Olu and Tolu), Tony Tetuila, Plantashun Boiz etc then you would be spot on about when the seed was planted.

Really? So because you don't earn enough to pay BBC for watching other channels you should not have TV?
Folks like this are just too naive.
They can even pay tax on the air they breathe simply because they have regular income and it’s a damn amount.

I don’t know if they ever heard of the Aba women riot of 1922.
Should we all naively have said those successful women traders don’t have regular source of income when they protested against some ‘damn’ taxes back then?

Nonsense and Putin’s nuclear threat grin

If you're working and earning a regular income, a TV licence is not a big deal, why give yourself unnecessary stress about what to watch when you can just pay for the damn thing and watch what you want on any device any day or time. It doesn't worth all the long conversations here. You can either pay £159 at once or you pay monthly. Additionally, you can use the license for other things like proof of address. And if you don't earn a regular income or you're not buoyant enough to pay for the license, why have a TV in the first place?

Finally, in these days of online entertainment and sports, there's no way you will not watch an online live event for which a TV licence is also needed. Get a TV licence and enjoy yourself to the fullest, simple.
Since you are working and earning a regular income and also know that one can pay monthly or annually, I might have to direct the bill to your address.
Please quote me with your address so I can do that ASAP and be a Good Samaritan to those of us who don’t have regular income.

Many years ago i was moving in to a new place with a friend, they visited just as we are moving things including TV and asked if we have TV licence we said no that we don't watch live tv them left, few months late we received the usual letter and my friend panicked and wanted us to pay(He was an illegal immigrants but i don't know at that time) , i knew very little about tv licence issue then as i was about 6months old student.

We started paying £10 a month even as i hardly watch tv let a lone live one because i work night and study day. Then i tuned in to a late night talkSports radio program one night and their was an hour long discussion on tv licence, i got educated and the rest is history.
Hmmmm.
These ones are threatening to get a search warrant to come and turn the house upside down in search of TV; meanwhile, I just arranged 1 conspicuous cinema screen.

One mind is saying “pay” , another is saying “don’t pay, nothing go sup”

Well, I get his point tho. I know a classmate that was offered sponsorship but not under the health and care Visa. From her calculation, she will pay almost 4k per person for visa application and IHS for 3 years. And this is a family of 4. Total calculation for the whole family to switch to tier 2 is about 16k which is ridiculous. So getting a health and care Visa makes switching to tier 2 easier.
Yes, I know but you need to look at PSW as a whole including the length and cost from year 1 to year10 that you would expend to get an ILR; whereas your tier 2 switching via non-care job already sets you on a short route.

Anyways, to each, his own. It’s a race with different end goal in sight
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by AlphaUno: 10:13pm On Sep 19, 2022
Preshyi:
To add to this. We wouldn't need to pay almost 2k per person just for PSW when we can switch directly to Tier 2.
Absolutely! what I was driving at with my earlier comment
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by AlphaUno: 10:08pm On Sep 19, 2022
MichaelUde:
Depending on the number of years the COS covers, PSW is not more expensive than a non health and care Skilled Worker visa.
The standard 3-year Tier 2 visa application fee from inside the UK is £720 per person, plus £624 IHS per year per person.
The 2 year PSW is £700 per person, plus £624 IHS per person.

No real difference. Na the people wey dey the health and care dey "enjoy", no IHS and cheaper application fee.
Which would you rather do, the 5 year route to ILR or the 10 year route?

In addition to the financial implications of PSW, the length of time is another factor to consider - the reasons for the statement “PSW isn’t cheap…..”
