Which would be faster. Thank you It’s better you get it corrected here, I’m sure you don’t want UKVI/TLS holding on to your docs forever! |

Kaycee54321: Hi everyone.
While trying to fill out job applications, I often get to this section where I'm asked if I identify as trans, my sexual orientation, religion, etc...
Subconsciously, I often feel they're trick questions and I'm always torn between choosing "Prefer not to say" rather than a blunt "No", especially to the gender inclusive questions...
I honestly do not care much about sexual orientation, gender assignment/tags or religion but then again, I do not want to be sidelined because of a perceived misconception about my profile...
I'd appreciate any inputs please. Does all that really matter, significantly? My friend! It matters not. Own up to your orientation with your full chest. I believe it’s there because everybody (all LGTV categorisation) wants to be identified and not sidelined. |

The current issues are not new - Thatcher had far more union strikes to contend with in her time, many complaining about the same issues of today. Brits have been migrating to Australia, Europe, US for years. Many Brits alive can still remember when the country went through rations on food and energy So while we are going through a rough patch at the moment, we've bounced back before and will do so again I laughed in Kanuri @ the bolded |

Chikadibia21: This also happened to me in a history class which was supposedly meant to celebrate black history. The teacher kept dwelling on how blacks were slaves to the whites. The students kept staring at me like I was some modern-day slave
This might not be the same experience for everyone though. It was all intentional. Black history! Meant to reiterate slavery for a whole month every year and make their upcoming generations aware of the world order. Control the media, set the agenda and control the narratives. This has been their MO front the jump. But curiously so, now that we know, what are blacks/Africans doing to set a new agenda going forward? Black Americans feel they are superior to other blacks while Fellow Africans see one and another as competitors - yet they are all victims of the white man’s exploitation. R & D will always have a prime place in all facets of human endeavour. |

I'm asking because on the Nigeria high commission website in London, I'm seeing postal order of £250 for damaged passport, whereas it's £20 for renewal. Zahra29: What about the very many yahoo boys, ritual killers, armed robbers, runs girls, dirty politicians and crooked professionals etc who were born and bred in Naij?
Parenting styles may vary for example hitting a child in the UK is generally seen as abuse because there are often better ways to teach and discipline a child. The majority of black boys and children in general who were raised here are doing well and are responsible. Conversely there are nigerian students who come here and get into trouble. Several during my uni days- one boy even got into trouble with the police over allegations from an oyinbo girl he was messing with. Not every black boy here is in a gang, the same way not every young Nigerian is into yahoo or a Nigerian "prince". A lot of it is stereotypes due to media presentation. I wasn’t comparing 9ja with UK. And I wasn’t even talking about beating children to straighten them out. I’m also sure you are aware that spending quality time with kids isn’t an abusive act? What I wrote up there is on influence of western cultures on immigrants and based on life experiences and not media reportage. Due to the nature of what I do, I have traversed almost all major cities in the UK (except Newcastle, Portsmouth and a couple others) b4 reaching my conclusion. |

Gerrard59: I am really interested in reading tips and experiences from black African parents who have been in the UK for ages in tackling the issue. Two solutions I have thought are sending them to schools owned by conservative churches, sending them to Nigeria so that they know the conditions at home, the stakes at hand and the reasons mummy and daddy had to relocate. Like you stated, spending quality time with the children is very important. Best bet is to let them spend earlier years up to adolescents back home to know their culture, life’s values etc before bringing them here to complete their education. Our educational system at the earlier years is quite faster - formal or informal. Learning at the earlier years for an African child is quite faster but slows down after three or four years. As simple as this may sound, research as far back as 80s has it that African child (0 - 3 years) is precocious due to constant interaction between mother and child, breastfeeding, wrapper-tying carrying on the back, constant touches to name a few. But with the present Nigerian situation, one may need a rethink to consider family finances, safety, availability of jobs etc before making that relocation decision. For those who are here already, I guess it’s best to know your kids and spend quality time with them. Sorry to burst your bubble but very few African parents who have been here long enough are good models to consider their parenting style especially when you see the end result in their kids. Just maybe! Location let them down. Raising kids in London, its environs and some other major cities need serious consideration. |

Hopefully people wont pack 15 hr care shifts and neglect the kids to the hands of social media / streets The alarming rate of black kids in gangs is worrisome, now! Add fresh influx of kids born to these ‘woke’ immigrant parents to it. One can only hope many won’t look back in 10/15 years and regret bringing the whole family, especially their kids. Blacks do not hold on strongly to their cultural identity - we are easily swayed. |

Compliments of the season to all and sundry.
For folks just coming in with their families, especially those with much younger kids, you have a lot to do and the earlier you started the better.
Apart from the culture shocks, the differential treatments etc your young ones will experience in school and in the larger society; they would soon be directly exposed to ‘relationship curriculum’ on LGTV and all the confusion that comes with it.
Imagine 5 and 6 years olds learning about ‘dad and dad’ parents or the freedom to change your gender - confusion is about to let loose. At this age, they are not even done understanding the male / female issue.
It’s introduction is inevitable! However, the short term solution here, is to do the education yourselves rather than thrust it in the hands of ‘strangers-with-agenda’ to do it for you.
Your 9 - 5 jobs and shifts are necessary money-making moves, but giving those kids a solid foundation is ‘importanter’ |

tushqueen: What if it's a case of overstaying in Canada or America, then the wife got a job in the UK, will this implicate the man? Just relating it to a case I have at hand.
I will appreciate useful inputs from anyone Information is power. Regularising your stay in Canada is as difficult as UK; whereas, with a good immigration lawyer, it’s quite easy in US. I know a family of five (all entered US together with hubby on a visiting visa while wife was on student visa accompanied by the kids) who initially sought asylum with the excuse of FGM on new born baby and subsequently regularise their stay - now with nice jobs and a mortgage to go with it. All these happened in less than 5 years. Another lady who is divorced used same Immigration lawyer and now has her papers after overstaying for 2 years. Meanwhile, many are there in US still running from the law and hoping another Democratic govt will do what Obama did in 2013 and grant amnesty. |
