This would have been a good idea only if the law enforcement treat cases of fraud with small charges. What it would cost him to get them to look at the case would probably double the amount in question.

However, those people Sabi the work if the proceed of crime is huge and they'll make solid cut themselves aside the payment you'll use to facilitate the investigation... Crazy system!
I understand your point, and that’s why he has to work with a trusted lawyer who will do the legwork for him.
To me, EFCC will be the best bet. If the lawyer can write a powerful petition against the travel agency, they will most likely settle quickly and out of court.

Dear All,
I urgently need an answer to this.
can we (my wife and I) travel separately on Tier 2 dependent UK visa even if we have mentioned 'we will travel together' on our visa application?
Dependent intend to go one month after but want to process visa together
Both of you should be able to travel anyhow - together or individually - you want provided the visa is already granted

I made the application once for my wife, son and myself.
If you can make a case for your self and family with the Police headquarters fraud dept in Lagos or better still inform EFCC with all necessary evidence, you should get your money back.
Work with a trusted lawyer who is in 9ja that will do the legwork for you

Just an appeal.
When people ask for advice for cheaper or free alternatives, please respond if you know the solution or keep it moving pls. The reason I say this is that a lot of people are going through a lot. Converting naira to pounds at 1000/£ and you're asking the person to pay more for car insurance or buy stuff online when they've asked for a free etc. It's not very nice now IMHO. I get that you may be trying to warn them of an unintended consequence in the future, but sometimes "there's no money on ground" lol.

NOT everyone is settled in UK with 10yrs experience collecting big bucks in ££££ every month. Some people are still owing gbese in Naija etc. This might be the struggling phase for some...as really shi shi no dey. It just rubs me the wrong way as you don't know current condition. Just had to let it out of my chest. My 2 pence...I come in peace
Here, you ll get the SWEET, BITTER and SOUR irrespective of your present condition.
Those who are giving you the same advice have gone thru their own phase, so, you not alone here.

Should Suella succeeds in inciting the public against legal immigrants, Rishi should be squarely blamed.
He knows the right thing to do - get rid of the controversial dark soul he appointed.

Extremist Right-wing induced attacks have started spiking, putting everyone (legal or illegal) in the same pot

We don't want to move to any of these places.

Our plan now is to leave them. (3 transfers within one year is unsettling).

They don't pay for this relocation cost, what they do is pay for deposit and first month rent and charge it back for you to pay back small small.

But these are my major challenges with leaving them immediately and also leaving Newcastle as Newcastle do not seems to have a lot of Nursing roles with Sponsorship.

Below are why I am thinking it will be expensive leaving Newcastle Now.

1. We have got tenant contracts that will end April 8 2023.
2. Energy Contract till April 2023 exit fee £300.
3. Wifi Contract till April 2023 exit fee £150.

So the earliest I think we can leave Newcastle is April 2023.

Thinking of what to do between now and April 2023 is mentally draining.

If we accept to go to any of these places in the interim (Which is likely the only option we have now), while looking for job with sponsorship in Manchester or Liverpool or Leeds (I believe they will be more opportunities there especially for me, It was hard for me to find job here in Newcastle due to my family situation and were we live), The cheapest she would spend working 14days a month with taxi is £980. This will put alot of financial burden on us.

In her contract, if she leaves before 3 years she will pay back a certain amount, her colleague left after 6months and she was asked to pay back £4,500.

How do I sail through this turbulent sea.

Can her Union force them to pay for this taxi fare?.

Please dear Ancestors i need all the Advice, help and Encouragement now.
Check your rent contract properly, most I know is 6 month termination period with a month notice both ways (from you or from LL). Unless, yours is different

I also think You should be able to move house with your energy and Wi-Fi contracts.

Good!

Since they intend to use transfer as a frustration tool, when RCN steps in, they will relent or learn the hard way.

Thank you boss. They have this morning given her an option of yet another transfer to either Durham or Sunderland.

This will be the fourth transfer under one year with them, we never asked for any, and this has been affecting my children and myself work wise, We keep moving because the pay back clause in the Job Contract.

Now that this is not our fault, she is considering switching employer but I do not wish to pay them anything because this whole move here and there are no fault of hers, its affecting her mental health, the kids mental health and my mental health as well.

What is the best way to approach this situation so that we will not pay them back anything.

Truth is my tired is tired of this their inconsistencies.
Is she a member of RCN ?
If not, she should join ASAP. They will REPRESENT her where she can’t be represented, EDUCATE her on what to do and PROTECT her interests @ all times.

Fear not, nothing dey sup!

I think I get your point but what is the chance of getting Sponsorship visa approved?
Very high…..sponsorship gives you tier 2 visa. The company can decide to sponsor for a year 3 or 5 and it quickens your way to ILR, which is 5 years

Your personal allowance on your taxable income can be shared between the two jobs. It happens a times (50:50, 60:40, 70:30 etc or anyhow HMRC deem fit)

God bless you for this piece! I was just about seeking clarity on dealing with HMRC. I have been on BR tax code since April 2022 which I have been chasing them. I was told I have 2 conflicting records on their system which they have to harmonize and this should be done by October. However, I just got by October payslip and I am still on the BR code. I am really tired of these people ooo....
Did your first employer when you got here opened tax record for you b4 your NI was issued ?
That could explain your situation

phyl123:
Your personal allowance of £12,500 e.g before tax has to be divided by 12 if you are paid monthly or by 52 if you are paid weekly for e.g. let us assume that your tax code has got a M1 or W1 at the end, it will not be accumulated if you joined your job midway through the tax year.

Example 1
Someone with tax code 1250LM1 joins 6 months into the tax year, your personal allowance will be £12,500 divided by 12 . (£1,041.67 ) before tax is deducted on a monthly basis.

Example 2
If your tax code is 1250L and you join your job 6 months into the tax year you will have to accumulate a personal income of £1,041.67x6 (£6,250), before any tax is deducted. You might end up not having any tax deducted in your first months pay.

Example 3
If your tax code is BR this means that your have another job where you have used up your personal allowance and you will not have any personal allowance in this new job, so your money will be taxed without any personal allowance.
To avoid this kind of situation you can either ask your new employer to give you a P46 to sign . On that form make sure you tick statement B stating that this is your main job. Or you can phone the HMRC with your new employer’s PAYE reference code and they will adjust it for you by sending them a tax code notification.

Also when it comes to phoning the HMRC it depends on who you talk to. Like most government departments, some of their staff are very unhelpful and try to fob you off. While you will get that one staff who will take their time to help you and explain to you in such a way that you will understand. If you get one unhelpful person hang up and phone again until you can get help. Unfortunately in my line of work we have to deal with the HMRC and most of their staff are utterly useless. Sometimes it’s like dealing with the Nigerian civil service.
I quite agree on the bolded.
Some of them are either greenhorns or haven’t been properly trained in complex tax matters.

One of their staff I spoke with one time was asking to get back to my employer, what she could easily have done from her end.
It’s better she calls again to understand what the explanation is and know her tax code(s)

Thanks for the response. Actually, this is my first job, nd my accumulated income since August till now is not up to 12,000 pounds yet.
I called d HMRC to inform them abt this development, but they were giving me some unreasonable excuses that they have to divide the expected accumulated taxable income by 2 and that since my accumulated income is more than 6000 pounds presently that I have to start paying tax. This explanation is not yet clear to me though
No, isn’t it 12,570 untaxable income again?

Good evening everyone. Pls I want someone to give me a brief estimate of the percentage of tax and NI that is supposed to be deducted from the gross income of someone earning a gross amount of 860 pounds per week( working 10 hours daily on an hourly rate of 11.45 pounds) for 6 days a week.

I want to knw dis because I realize that I'm charged an exurbitant amount weekly which is more than the stated 20% I used to hear.
Thanks
Is this your first or second job?
Have you previously left a job and you have not asked for form P45?
If your employer put you on a pension scheme, total deductions can also go up
Get in touch with HMRC and let them know your primary job and if there is need to change your tax code

You all should go together, collect your BRP then take the children back to Nigeria for 6 months so that your husband can settle and prepare the land for your coming. Also, I am assuming the job offer he got took care of the dependant visas?
Travel together to pick up BRP - funds
Take children back - funds
And then bring them back after 6 months - funds

Tell me this isn’t what you advising after she said “no funds to travel together” in the first instance?

All that talk of integrity, but he was happy to reappoint her most likely to gain her support in the nominations. Apparently RS called her several times and even offered to meet her at her home when he was campaigning.

She might stay on (Tories can fight dirty but smart) but the key thing is that there are now obvious cracks in RS's veneer of integrity

Reading thru on Suella, powerful blocs are compiling her sins and are muting a panel of enquiry.

- She is known to say controversial things. Rishi holding on to her is a big dent on his new govt.

- Suella had an anti-immigration MP as an unofficial adviser sharing sensitive govt info with him and also had a great input in her controversial policy on immigration reform

- She intentionally broke ministerial code twice - definitely not a mistake - but Oga Rishi say na mistake and she don apologise.

We pin here dey look if Rishi go make first U-turn, though not foreseeable for now.
