This Archbishop John Onaiyekan is Northern lapo: Physician heal thyself is a common biblical quote but it seems Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) will not heed this advice. The organisation's criticism of the APC Muslim-muslim ticket has exposed as guilty of the same offence. Kettle calling pot black? No Northern Christian has ever been appointed as President of the organisation.
SINCE 1976 TILL DATE NO NORTHERN CHRISTAIN HAS BEEN ELECTED AS PRESIDENT OF CAN , WHY ??
Does it mean there is no competent northern Christain that can head CAN
Dominic Cardinal Ekandem (late) from 1976 till 1986
Anthony Cardinal Okogie from 1988 till 1995.
Prelate Sunday Mbang from 1994 till 2003.
Primate Jasper Akinola from 2003 till 2007.
Archbishop John Onaiyekan from 2007 till 2010.
Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor from 2010 till 2016.
, and the current president, Reverend (Dr) Samson Ayokunle, who was elected in 2016
If CAN as a body of Christ see no Northerner qualified to be their president noting wrong with APC following the foot step of CAN .

It simply a CSR of the local church assembly to the immediate community it is domiciled and not that it is a project donated by the national headquarter of their G.O. Other RCCG churches all over the country can do similarly in their locations... Amayabor1: I really want to ask something; why are RCCG projects concentrated in the south west? You never hear them doing anything in the South South, South east or North. Is it that their members are made up of only Yoruba people? The very bane of the party is putting forward the wrong southern candidate who, though has the right to contest, is at the same time not the ideal option based on Nigeria peculiar ethno/religious situation. He claims to chose the vice based on competence over religious biase but the truth is he knows he stands no chance getting votes from Northern muslims if he goes for "a competent northern christian"(the north isn't bereft of competent christian politicians)..apc might have lost it in the presidential primaries but let's see what will actually play out in 2023. waice6571: No matter how people try to paint Muslim/Muslim Ticket in Nigeria, it remains what it is; all shades of wrong!
I don't know why people are not asking the right questions....!
Why did Buhari chose Pst Tunde Bakare and Yemi Osinbajo... christians/pastors as his running mates to balance the equation while vying for the office of the president?
Why can't he choose Tinubu as his running mate in 2015 and try to sell Muslim/Muslim ticket to Nigerians?
Tinubu may lose the trust of the south and the north will cleverly withdraw their support for him some minutes to the election....
Someone should ask former president Goodluck Jonathan the taste of Northern betrayer.... |

You said it aptly. The narrative would've been different were it to be Baba OBJ, another previous military leader,in power now. This current Baba had been too sectional, ethnocentric and so soft with terrorists/bandits probably because they are mostly people of shared ethnicity/religion with him. A leader shouldn't be seen like this. Axis313: It's still unbelievable that a country headed by a retired military head of state is at the mercy of bandits and terrorists. Nigeria has never had it this worse, security wise under previous administrations,it's a mystery how the man attain the level of Major General in the army. Also fueling the scourge are corporate bodies that prefer these vulgar music mongers as their brand ambassadors...another damage to our impressionable young minds that see artisetes as role models... Comedies no longer make people laugh but creates an avenue for perverted human beings to satisfy their sexual curiosity. Artistes now release sex tapes to promote their artistry. Lols..the APC is condemned to pick a southwestern flagbearer,an ACN. Already the North know the APC is tending towards it's last days as the party is gradually reverting to pre-apc formation of different parties that wrestled PDP and Jonathan. The aim of the then merger seems to have climaxed. However the North might return to power... AlexBells: I had always remained vehement that if Nigeria MUST be United, then the Unitary System is not going to be negotiated it should continue.
Like I said earlier, the race to 2023 is a war that must be diplomatically waged. The North already have a candidate Atiku Abubakar, the East already have a candidate Peter Obi and Should a Westerner clinch the Ticket then the West would already have a candidate, this would take us back to the 60s Nigerians political model.
It is no surprising that evolution is taking place, however I'm happy that the evolution is such that we are adapting to the system. To me, it all feel like killing two birds with one stone.
The East shall consolidate however like I told a very good Yoruba friend of mine, the Igbo nation shall no longer go with the Eastern nomenclature rather we are AlaIgbo, there is no need dissolving our prestigious identity for other nationalities who don't value the sacrifices to carry along.
All is good ladies and gentlemen, every Reasonable Igbo should get their PVC, the first war our parents fought with weapons, it is a bit of relief that this second war is starting with just your PVC, it is better to vote than to shoot however not opposed to any other option if it becomes necessary.
After this, I believe every regional tension and sentiments should give way or a dialogue case should be opened. For evolution to take place, I think a Westerners should emerge in APC, watch the country restructure naturally while the structure remains intact.
This does not take away extreme options, we still wait for all primary conclusions. Let meet at the election day I'm not doubting that a lot can happen before Monday or Tuesday but fair and square give the West the APC ticket and watch everyone answer their names. We are the land of the rising sun. |

...one was so stupidly stingy that her child died just because she wouldn't assist the husband in paying hospital bills of their ailing child needing medical care as the man could no longer continue medical bills...meanwhile she could assist. However not all women are this callous minded . Reasonable, sensible and godly women/wife may be rare but they still exist pansophist: I fault the media for giving such an idiot platform to air her rubbish, ending up disgracing herself, and deceiving the gullible mind.
If its the duty of a man to provide, is it not also the duty of the woman to be supportive? So how can a woman be truly supportive if she can't support her husband with money when the situation calls for it? Imagine two people in a car, it makes sense if the other passenger can drive just in case the current driver gets tired or maybe collapse while driving.
A passenger refusing to drive because its the duty of the driver to drive is foolishness. Its self-defeating, because you're a team, and you must be able to assist in reaching your destination if the situation calls for it. Of course the driver knows its his responsibility to drive, but still, no one knows what might happen.
Lots of family have crashed because of selfish shortsighted foolish women that carry the "its your duty as a man to provide" slogan. I know someone that was deported just because he lost his job and the wife was like this foolish woman. He would have stayed in Germany if she was working and the husband and kids can stay based on her work permit. Selfishness is like corruption, you destroy the future for the greed of today. |
