Abak-Ekparakwa road shocked It has been reconstructed by Udom, why is it being listed? Unless it's meant to be paid back to the state.

Will covid-19 also attend the meeting to discuss how it'll completely avoid schools during this 2nd wave?

I pray so my brother, because it (covid-19} has actually been avoiding markets and other political/social functions.

The state governments who have postponed resumption of schools till 18th January instead of 4th January should please pity the students/pupils, resumption shouldn't be beyond then for God's sake.

Our educational system is nothing to write about, yet they are keeping the students/pupils at home undecided. So sad undecided cry

Islam for Muslims / Re: Is It Islamic (halal) To Invest In Digital Agricultural Investment Platforms by alsudaes1(m): 6:46pm On Dec 25, 2020
Lukgaf:

"In order for this to be permissible, it is essential that the division of profits be according to a set share of the profit, such as one-half, one-third, and so on.

It is not permissible for that share to be a fixed share of the capital, such as if he took some money to do business with it and they agreed that he would give him – for example – ten percent of the capital on the basis that this is profit.

Similarly it is not permissible for the profit to be a set amount of money – such as one thousand dollars every year or every month. Rather it must be a share of the profit, according to whatever they have agreed upon.

If a specific amount of money or a specific percentage of the capital is stipulated, then the partnership contract is haraam and invalid. "

Wa alekum salam waramotulah wabarakatuh bro. Fixed profit? Any risk associated?

Fixed profit, yes.
Theres a particular one, you get 50% of your capital as profit after 4 months, there's another one of 73% of your capital after 6 months, some the ROI is 15 % after 3 months etc.
The risk is what I don't know, they are mostly silent on it, they lay emphasis on the percentage profit of the capital after a specific number of months
Islam for Muslims / Is It Islamic (halal) To Invest In Digital Agricultural Investment Platforms by alsudaes1(m): 8:31pm On Dec 21, 2020
Salaam alaykum wa Rahmotullaah wa Baarokatuhu.

I know Islam does not discourage us from engaging in investments. Recently, I have seen or read about different Agritech platforms in Nigeria where individuals can sign up for different kinds of Agricultural products ranging from food crops to animals/birds, the Agritech firms claim they farm/nurture the animals on one's behalf and sell also on one's behalf.

There are different offers of fixed percentages of profit based on the amount invested on the different plans over fixed period of time (maturity)

As a Muslim who would not want to consume haram in any guise, can we invest in such platforms?

My doubts are premised on how real are the platforms, are the farms truly in existence? Hoping also that such are not ponzi schemes in disguise.

I don't know if my enquiry has earlier been attended to, please pardon me if that's the case.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Preparation For Eid-ul-adha: How Much Is Ram In Your Area? by alsudaes1(m): 11:10am On Jul 17, 2020
May Allaah make it a blessed eid for us all and may we witness lots of it. Ameen

I will also suggest that more enlightenment should be made on the opportunity of 7 persons coming together to kill a cow while they each have reward of performing the sacrifice.
This should be encouraged via jumat khutbah as well, many people are ignorant of this and once they can't afford the price of 1 ram, they just give up on sacrificing animals to earn reward.

Did you actually read through the post?
If yes you can go and ask julius Berger staffs, since your in the state what their MD said when the commissioner of information visited. Again let verify before we condemn ok
I did not condemn anything, I even acknowledged the good roads within the state.

I complained about the title, and asked a question in terms of comparing it with the one close to the Federal secretariat. It's not about what the op alleged that JB MD said (he didn't quote any source though) but it's about reality on ground. That's why I said those who are based there should testify to it in comparison to the one I mentioned. Remember, both are in the same state and even close to each other.

The state is a beautiful state with progressive governors no doubts.

But sincerely aren't Akwa Ibomites wasting their resources unnecessarily?

Look at the sparsely populated environment and tell me what vehicular traffic warrants such infrastructure. Can the money be used for something more pressing and/or beneficial.

Why do people who suddenly struck wealth resort to wastages.
I'm not hating, I appreciate the good works of Udom so far..

But it's just a 'normal' flyover, the OP gave a misleading title.
Akwa ibomites who are based there can testify to it... How better is this one to the one close to Federal secretariat constructed by Akpabio.

I have to admit that they have the best of roads in the state though.
