The Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, has set February 2017 as deadline to deliver on a 21 megawatts Calabar power plant, as part of his determination to ensure that the Calabar metropolis has 24/7 uninterrupted power supply. Speaking during his routine inspection of the ongoing construction work at the site along the Parliamentary Extension in Calabar, the Cross River State Capital, Ayade explained that the power plant is a new technology which is cost effectiveExcited about the level of work done so far, Ayade said: “as you can see, there is massive construction work going on here at the site, we are putting the structural base for the installation of the 21 megawatt power turbines that have already been delivered on site. “We have set February 17, 2017 as deadline to deliver uninterrupted 24/7 power supply to Calabar metropolis. With this singular effort, Calabar will be the first capital city to have uninterrupted power supply in the country”. http://www.channelstv.com/2016/12/08/uninterrupted-power-supply-ayade-sets-2017-deadline/Cc: Mynd44 |

Science/Technology › Re: How Efficient Are Solar Electricity Power Systems? by alsudaes1(m): 7:35pm On Dec 18, 2016 |
DMerciful: Solar is not as expensive as being portrayed and besides NEPA is relatively cheap because it is not available and you cannot run generator 24/7 and compare it to solar apart from being highly inconvenient. I installed a 1000W solar system in May 2016 and i have not run generator since then neither has anything failed. People meet quacks who knows little about solar designs and when they are given poor systems they start making generalizations that solar doesnt last. Start using solar and you will never go back...yes its additive cos it feels great to control your own energy. Please what is the total cost for the 1KW solar system? |

bettercreature: You will enjoy it but its more expensive than generator! You are the ignorant here. For example .... Our 4 batteries cost about ...510.000 naira Sola panels about 120.000 naira inverter ....engine .....110.000 controller or something like that i am not sure 30k The whole shiiit lasted for like 18 months (547 days)before we replaced the batteries come to think of it,we use 1700 diesel per day for our generator that means 1100x547....601.700 naira Your diesel generator will even power heavy appliances that the solar panel/inverter installation couldn't. |

Please, this is a request. I observed that you do comment on virtually each page, and considering how fellow nairalanders make requests in regards to past questions (which made this thread to be closed some weeks ago) and the recent misunderstandings such request had caused recently between two hopefuls in here. I urge you to: Kindly provide a link through your signature where people can download the much sought after "DPR questions".Perhaps, it might limit the requests, once they see your post, they can easily click and download from the link below it. ; $2 or $200 I wonder my brother. . . Perhaps they meant "live below $2" A woman came to the office (where I also struggle to earn my daily bread) to pick empty cans of malt from our refuse dump site to sell so she can send money to her child in the University. I have, over the years observed that most people appreciate their Mum more than their dad. . .
I resolved to make a good Dad so that when my daughters are answering similar questions tomorrow, they will "lovingly" say 'My Dad' |
