Las las Dangote will sell his refinery to the Tinubu family.

It's getting there slowly
And what exactly or wrong with Oando buying Eni’s asset? Should Oando stop doing business and expanding because Tinubu is president? When Peter Obi was governor of Anambra state, did Fidelity bank stop doing business with Anambra state government? Did Anambra state government stop investing in Peter Obi’s family business?

When the same Tinubu government approved the sale of ExxonMobil unlimited’s asset to Seplat, a company owned by an Igbo person, did you cry about Dangote? So, what’s this noise about? Should companies owned by Yorubas stop doing business because a Yoruba man is the president?

But you want Wike boys to retain their seats in Rivers
An LP senator just defected to APC without losing his seat so why will Ndume lose his??
Common sense is a myth to you agbadorians
APC members in Rivers state house of Assembly did not decamp to APC. There are procedures for decamping and they did not fulfill the process. Legally, they are still in PDP. That’s why PDP came to court and stated emphatically that they are still PDP members.

For the LP member that joined APC, he joined at a time that LP is factionalized at the national level. There are about three factions claiming to be NWC of LP so there is nothing wrong with a lawmaker leaving LP right now as a result of the fractionalization of the party.

Ndume on the other hand can’t leave APC because there is no faction or division at the national level. If he leaves, his seat will be declared vacant and election conducted the following week.

lol. Why violate the law in the first place. It’s crazy how people invest millions of their hard earned money to develop a property without getting the necessary approval or in violation of approvals given to them. Nigeria is not a lawless country and people should stop being lawless. Impunity is what got us to where we are as a country.

Politics › Re: Protest: Africa Is Sitting On Keg Of Gunpowder, Youths Angry With Us - Obasanjo by ALTERNATEID: 8:19am On Jul 24, 2024
What did the Kenyans achieve with their protest? The Hong Kong protest that lasted for years, what did they achieve with it? The Arab spring protest that swept across the Arab countries, what’s the outcome? Are those countries better off today?

Back to Kenya,

In 2008, there was a very bloody protest over the December 2007 presidential election. Over 1500 people died as a result of that protest. One would have thought that that was enough to earn the people their liberty but no, they are again protesting and losing lives for the same purpose.

Who are the beneficiaries of all these protests? Politicians. From the Arab spring to the Kenyan protest of 2008 to the current protest and the planned anti-Tinubu protest, politicians who want to grab power will be the beneficiaries and not the poor masses who are pawns in all of these.

The Ruto Kenyan protesters want to remove today was the popular activist of yesterday who had the solution to all of Kenya’s problems. He’s the same Ruto that defeated a political alliance of Kenyatta and Raila Odinga. He was supposed to be the messiah so what has changed?

Anyone thinking the planned protest in Nigeria is about the masses is a fool. A very big fool. It is never about you and will never be about you. It’s all about politicians greed and desire for power grab.

I’m greatly surprised they could pull such heist and Tinubu will just let it go like that.

Even other states governors suppose don para. Shey they wan tell us say Ogun no get vulnerable citizens?
This is a world bank assisted project and from my experience of such projects, there are always well laid out procedures for assessing the funds. Fact is, some states would take it more serious than other states and the result is what we are seeing. World bank is very strict on disbursement and they always carry out independent assessment to ensure parameters set in the loan finance agreement have been met before funds are released. We should question the governors of the states that performed poorly.

There is no better option. If the tax hike is not necessary, he wouldn’t have initiated it. Now that it has been withdrawn, it’s still the people that will suffer. There will be no meaningful development and debt will keep increasing. There is no freebies anywhere. Citizens are either willing to pay for collective development or accept to wallow in underdevelopment. It is what it is.

How many seat did the APC win in the state? Who told you muslim-muslim ticket was the reason the LP won in Edo? That's the same mistake you guys keep making when making an excuse for your loss in some states. You even attributed
same as the reason for Tinubu's loss in lagos whereas, alimosho had the largest population of Muslims in the state yet, he lost alimosho. Let's leave tori for now. LP and PDP will take the lion share at the polls. Mark it and come back to me later.

Don't forget the slogan "edo no be lagos" and the reason for that slogan which was Tinubu.
APC won two of the Senate seats in Edo state in case you’ve forgotten. You see this Edo election, forget LP. Akpata will come a distance third.

Politics › Re: I Do Not Pray For Nigeria To Crash - Doyin Okupe Responds To Dele Momodu by ALTERNATEID(op): 7:21pm On Jul 19, 2024
Dele Momodu is just so shameless. His desperation for power through an Atiku presidency has actually made him throw all cautions to the wind to keep attacking people unnecessarily and lying shamelessly.

Must everybody oppose the president? Is it a crime to support the reforms Mr. President is pushing? Did Atiku and Obi not promise to remove subsidy and float the exchange rate? Why are these guys intentionally heating up the polity? Political gains?

Even among thieves, there should be honor. Opposition doesn’t mean madness. We are all stakeholders in Nigeria and we shouldn’t allow charlatans like Dele Momodu to lead the narrative. Sensible and reasonable Nigerians must counter their lies and false narrative at all times.
Politics › I Do Not Pray For Nigeria To Crash - Doyin Okupe Responds To Dele Momodu by ALTERNATEID(op): 7:20pm On Jul 19, 2024
My dear Dele, it was nice to see you again at chief Osoba's 80th birthday, just as it is to read your comments about my rejoinder to Reno's response to your condemnation of this administration.

Frankly speaking and putting sentiments apart, Reno's response to your article was a masterpiece in terms of facts assembled therein. I am always in awe of that young man's ability to research and succinctly put together his narratives. You may hate Reno, or be angry with him for his opinions but his facts are unassailable.

With me also I am surprised u also did not stay with the facts. U retorted that I hv advised and praised every govt since 1999. That is not true. I only acted as adviser in the Obj's administration , which remains one of the most successful since the advent of the 4th Republic. I did not play any significant role in the Yaradua's administration that succeeded Obj's.

I became an adviser for the second time in the Jonathan administration which was defeated by the Gen Buhari led APC. Jonathan's defeat was not because of any societal hardship or economic issues. Jonathan's administration led Nigeria to an economically prosperous Nation, taking our GDP to $500B, and an unprecedented number 1 position in Africa. Why Jonathan was "defeated" is another matter entirely which may not be known to u because of your remoteness to the inner core of political power play at that time. This will be a topic for another day.

My associations with Bukola Saraki and Peter Obi is in no way different from your current association with HE Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. All three were presidential aspirants or candidates of different parties at different times. Making any issues out of this is nothing but crass mischief. I am neither a member of the APC nor an adviser of the administration. I appreciate the bold initiatives President Bola Tinubu took to remove fuel subsidy, which was assented to by ALL candidates during the campaign. I also fully support the sectoral equalization of our forex market. Both reforms are responsible for the hardship our people are currently experiencing , but which I believe will be temporary judging by the strenuous efforts the govt is making towards ameliorating them. This not praise singing.

I do not count myself as a member of the opposition, hence I am able to be objective and understandingly supportive. I may not have had a hand in installing this govt but it is my country and I am a stakeholder in it. I do not pray for it to crash or go down. This cannot be an offense. We all are practitioners, players and known actors in this Amphitheater, no need to go personal. Let's keep criticisms rational, mature and professional.

Finally Dele let me publicly acknowledge and appreciate your generosity in granting me that much appreciated debt forgiveness of $20k. I could not afford it! But truly then, I never imagined we could lose that election. However, man proposes but God Almighty ONLY disposes.
My dear Aburo, who I love and adore so much, I wish you well. God bless.

Reno the paid defender, what are you even saying? ..... We're saying that whatever growth the country is making should reflect on the well being of the people. The government is for the people, not for paper projections.
Things are very difficult and prices of all commodities including pms and food stuffs have gone haywire.
Make sure you don't come out to say this in the midst of the people because you may not find it funny
We all know why things are expensive except we all want to keep deceiving ourselves. Things have been done so wrongly for a long time and for the first time, we have a president who is trying to correct decades of wrong policies and practices.

Nobody can stabilize the country in four years not to even talk of a year. The reforms Tinubu is pushing is for the economic sustainability of Nigeria in the long term. We must all understand this and accept the current challenges as sacrifices we need to make for a better tomorrow.

No president in recent history has dared to fight Subsidy cabal, forex cabals, state governors, northern hegemonist, powerful monopolist like Dangote etc all at the same time. We should be supporting him to win all these battles and not distracting him with all these noise from pained political losers like Dele Momodu, Atiku and Peter Obi.
