Covid is very much with us. I fear it may spread more this festive period as people travel from one place to another.
And if you don't have anything essential to do travelling please stay where you are. Treating Covid in Nigeria is not child play. Those that have experienced our isolation centres have not pleasant stories to share.
Pls, stay safe. Stay Protected.

Hmmm. Depression is real.
Many of those that we see driving good cars, living in big houses are really depressed, frustrated and see nothing to live for any longer.
The news of Uncle Dapo is devastating to the family and friends.
May God console his parents and family.
May God grant him the rest he is looking for.
And those in same situation now, I don't know what to say, but I know it can't get worse. Hang in there, there is always a tomorrow. And what that tomorrow holds, can be greater than the trouble of today. Why not take a gamble on that tomorrow and stay alive.

I can relate to this experience in a way. The trauma, fear and anxiety the members of the family felt during the attack. The helplessness and futility of human existence at that material time.
The agony and the truama lingers on. I pray God will heal the family and grant the dead eternal rest.

Our Stand On the Ongoing #EndSARS Protests.

Our attention has been drawn to an outrageous action by one Yusuf Ahmadu Yunusa and his ilks who claim to have acted on behalf of the indigenous people of Abuja. According to media reports, Yusuf and his people claim that the indigenous people of Abuja are against the protests going on across the country. We wish to categorically dissociate ourselves from Yusuf and the actions of his gang. We find his claims offensive and insulting to the countless Gbagyi youths who have been harassed and extorted by the now defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

Gbagyi people the world over are known to be hospitable and for upholding the dignity and sanctity of human life. We have, over the years, condemned the extrajudicial killings of Nigerian youths by policemen. While we condemn any attempt to hijack the #EndSARS campaign by unscrupulous elements, we stand solemnly with our fellow youths who have taken to the street to demand an end to the killer squad as well as a total reform of the police force. We would never oppose a demand for a better and an egalitarian society, and we definitely did not appoint Yusuf Ahmadu Yunusa to speak for us. We have been victims of injustice for too long to support any form of oppression meted upon our fellow citizens.

The Gbagyi people of Nigeria are a peculiar set, scattered across the geography of Nigeria and further divided across religious and dialectical lines; dismissed as a bush tribe that must continuously be pushed farther from civilization. Like the red Indians, our lands have been taken, our ancestral homes destroyed to give way to urban development (one we are denied the enjoyment of). From the hills of Maitama to the vastness of Wuse our people were forcefully evicted and turned into tenants in Kubwa and faraway Niger state; in the heart of Bwaya (Bwari), a stranger was imposed upon our brethren as paramount ruler; throughout Kaduna state, history is constantly been rewritten to erase the place of Gbagyi people as the indigenous tribe – from the renaming of towns and villages to the distortion of the true origin of Queen Amina; Nassarawa is a lost home to us as we have no say in matters of the state at all.

There is a desperate need to take charge of our affairs and tell our own stories. But no individual can do this. We believe that the individual, like every society, develops on three fronts: intellectually, socially, and physically. This knowledge inspires in us the hope that we can instigate the Gbagyi youth unto the onerous yet indisputably rewarding path of self-development. With a population of over twelve million (12,000,000), if regulated and channeled towards meaningful transactions, we qualify for a resilient political, social and economic group.

Our grandmother, Ladi Kwali showed us many decades ago that through dedication everything is possible. With no formal education, she became a global sweetheart – traveling through European universities to deliver lectures about her craft and eventually bagging the highest British honor. Today, decades after her demise, Ladi Kwali is immortalized on our twenty naira (N20) note and with statues in different places across the country. We have more opportunities today than grandma Ladi Kwali had during her day. There is so much that we can achieve as a people, but we would never achieve our full potentials with a police force that harass, extort and murder us in our own country.

We refuse to remain silent while some lazy and hungry youths use us as their meal tickets. This is also a warning to sell-out activists who may want to take advantage of our parents in the villages. The Gbagyi people of Abuja have suffered enough from government negligence and from hyenas who take advantage of our sensibilities to line their pockets with coins. We are awoken to the important task of cleaning house and reclaiming our dignity as law-abiding Nigerians.

We will be going live on this platform to discuss this and other issues. Please join us.

God bless every Gbagyiza the world over
God bless Gbagyi Nation
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Errrrrr. You go need patience oooo.

One thing you should know is that your brother is now married and is firstly responsible to his wife and kids before any other person so him allowing three extended family to stay in this hard times is an act of kindness and bravery please don't add more stress to his life by bickering with your in-laws. We women are troublesome by nature then when we see someone who has our time we extend the trouble. The truth is
1. There is no way the room would have been left for you while there are women in the house (they need privacy).
2. Why will you say that you will go to the village? Don't you know you give your brother some kind of security in the midst of his wife and her obviously troublesome sisters by staying with him? Has he asked you to leave yet?
3. You where wrong to slap the young woman, no matter what the grieviance is you don't touch a woman.
4. They where wrong to throw your mattress out but please forgive them and move on. Thank God your brother made provisions for a replacement.
5. Take this place as a training ground for your future, if it's anything you should be bothered about now, is to be more determined about gaining independence and making it in life.
6. Leave rofo rofo fight for women, in fact ignore them totally for your national peace.
7. Hustle!!! Hustle!!! Hustle oooooo!!!!

Hugs.

I initially got angry with your advise. But on a second thought, you are very right.
@Op, your brother saw everything happening but he decided to ignore not because he does not love you, but he is torn between a wife that refused to accept her husband family as member of her own family. It is dicey for men, but knowing you are man, he knew things will sort itself out as time goes on.
As advised above, ignore all the tantrum. If need be develop an habit of being the last to enter into the house and the first to leave. Make peace with your brother. Beg him and tell him you never meant what you said.
As for the wife and her sisters, give them 3 years, maximum, especially when Children started coming, they will leave the house with quarel. The wife is building a terrible reputation for herself without knowing. Time reveals all things. Give them time.

This is dicey.
First, her request was out of strong consideration and reflection. If your uncle was a man of substance, I think you should consider it with the consent of the family member.
If he is not, take responsibility of the Child he left behind and encourage the woman to find someone else.
Family / Re: I Cause Pain To A Lot Of People by Alxmyr(m): 9:22pm On May 22, 2020
Your healing has started. The first and the greatest miracle is your acceptance of your faults and determination to change.
Keep on working on your faith. Leave the rest to God, He will restore everything in His own time.
Reckon with this truth to that, the person who committed all those atrocities is dead and buried with Christ. You are a new creature in Christ Jesus.
Stand on that and keep your faith on Him who brought you to that repentance state.
Join a more tolerant Church, that everyone realise that they are all work in progress.
Example of such Churches are House on the Rock, Potters House of Bishop T.D. Jakes.
Finally, I commend you God and His Christ, who is able to build you up.
Congratulations, Sister. Welcome to the best you of you.

I am in a dillema myself, my dad neglected the whole 8 of us when l was around 10 years, he passed last month. l reside out of the country now, he was coming close to the family since my elder ones picked up financially, burial is next month, I am just beginning to stand for myself , dont know if l should spend from the small money l ve saved to return to naija( return ticket 300k plus, other expenses not included ).

You need not come for his burial. But make sure you contribute your quota to his burial. Pay for something that is needed for the burial. You may also et your dad's relations know that your absence is not as a result of what he did to you but due to some issues relating to travelling.
