PoliticsUs Visit : Buhari Fumbles Again (video) - Igberetvnews.com by AmadiAba(op): 11:17am On Jul 21, 2015
Nigria's President, Muhammadu Buhari has made another blunder while speaking about his party All Progressives Congress (APC), during the meeting with his American counterpart Barack Obama . President Buhari while speaking about the peaceful transition of the power made a mistake when he referred to the APC as All Nigeria’s People’s Congress.

He praised the American government under the leadership of Obama formounting pressure on previous Jonathan’s government to conduct a free and fair election in Nigeria.

He said: “We will ever remain grateful to you because there are fundamental objectives that are identify of All Nigeria’s People’s Congress — security, economy, employment especially of youth, and then fighting corruption.”

It would be recalled that after the shift of the the general elections from February to March, APC candidate Buhari granted the interview to Aljazeera on February 8.

During the interview, Buhari was talking about elections and main Nigeria’s challenges such as corruption, Boko Haram, economy crisis.

Buhari made a blunder when he named INEC as the Independent Nigerian Electoral Commission. He also referred to his party as the ”All Progressives Confidence”.

It should be noted that Nigerian president is currently in the USA with state visit and had already had talks with Obama.

PoliticsTension As Aba Boys Beat-up Hausa Soldier;army Retaliate,ransack Strt- Igberetv by AmadiAba(op): 11:04pm On Jul 11, 2015
An eyewitness account had it that last Thurday, July 9, a certain man and his pregnant wife were having issues with their neighbour at a location known as Oriaku Street off Aba/Owerri Road in Aba. After futile attempts by other neighbours to resolve the matter, the said 'neighbour' dashed off the compound (YARD as them dey call am for area) and in minutes, came back with a soldier who ordered the man & his pregnant wife into the 'Keke' they came with, apparently to take them to their Military station at Ngwa High School in Aba.

Word had it a heated argument ensued between the pregnant woman and the soldier. Before she knew it, she got dazed by the soldier's slap on her face!

Unable to swallow such level of MADNESS by the Hausa soldier, the man whose wife was slapped started fighting the soldier. Before the Hausa soldier could say "Kai Nyamiri", over a dozen "Aba boys" in the area descended on him and gave him the beating of his psychotic life!

Later, as the account had it, the area was besieged by angry soldiers in search of the boys that already vanished into thin air! Angrily, they started pummelling anything on trousers and whisking them to their camp.

Boko Haram is busy BOMBING the whole North! Instead of this 'dare-devil' soldier to go apprehend his Boko Haram "brothers", he's in Aba slapping a pregnant woman!

My Question is: Can he do that in the North? Why get involved in such civil matters? Or should i even blame the aggrieved neighbour that involved a soldier? What happened to the Police? Anyway, the police is a "FRIEND" many Nigerians avoid for obvious reasons.

No security... Insane law enforcement agents everywhere... No credible system. Talk about a JUNGLE indeed!

PoliticsAfter Ohakim, Lamido, EFCC Moves To Arrest Ex- Abia Gov. T. Orji by AmadiAba(op): 8:10pm On Jul 09, 2015
There are strong indications that the Economic and Finacial crimes Commision(EFCC) has moved to invite the Former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly Chief Theodore Orji over embezzlement of public funds meant for the development in the State.

A close source within the Headquaters of the Anti-graft bodytold PUO REPORTS that the commision had received not fewer than 12 Petitions against the former governor, praying it to investiagte how Sen.T A Orji managed the affairs of Abia State from MAY 29 2007 till MAY 29th 2015 when he piloted the affairs of the state.

Another issue raised by the petitioners included how the Son of the former Governor, who is now a member Representing Umuahai Central in the State Assembly Hon.Chinedum Eyninnaya Orji managed the sum of 67 Billion Naira, which he was alleged to have collected via frivolous contracts,he was reported to have awarded to himself during the reign of his father as Abia State Governor.

Recalled that there had been several allegation of finacial misappropriation and Embezzlement levelled against the former Governor during his days as Abia State Governor, but efforts to get him proved abortive due the immunity he constitutionally enjoyed as a governor.

It will be recalled that Chief Theodore Orji won the Abia Central Senatorial seat in a controversial circumstances, which his close rival Barr. Ahamdi Nweke is challenging at the Tribunal, because the former Governor, now Senator lost at his own Polling unit during the March 28th Presidential and National Assembly elections, but was declared winner in a shocking manner.

PUO REPORTS was unable to verify the particular date the EFCC will extend its letter of invitation, which has being already compiled.

President Mohammadu Buhari had during his inaugural speech maintained that no corrupt politician will go unpunished under his watch as President of Nigeria.

PoliticsIgbo Youths Condemn Buhari's 'one Sectional' Appointments by AmadiAba(op): 10:09am On Jul 04, 2015
The Youth wing of the foremost Pan Igbo organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to carry every section of the country along in making appointments to key positions in his administration.

The group which operates under the aegis of Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, said it is peeved by what it described as some sectional appointments so far made by the President, stressing that appointments should be spread among the six geo- political zones of the country.

In a statement signed by the National President of OYC, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the group further said it is against the principle of federalism for the President to have so far appointed people from only one part of the country.

“We are worried at the manner of appointment s so far made by President Muhammadu Buhari which has so far been concentrated in the North West zone, except for the Special Adviser on Media. We wish to remind our President that there are well qualified and trustworthy Nigerians in every geo political zone. We hope President Buhari is not acting out a script.

The earlier he allays fears of other Nigerians about the manner of appointments, the better for the nation. Ohanaeze Youths recall that the concentration of appointments in one political zone has always caused trouble in Nigeria. We want President Buhari to live by his words that he belongs to everybody,” the youths said.

OYC also condemned the relocation of Boko Haram detainees to Aguata Prisons in Anambra state which it said, does not have the capacity and facilities to keep such high profile detainees and urged the federal government to relocate the detainees from the prison or upgrade its facilities.

PoliticsBreaking News! We Are Ready To Negotiate With Boko Haram (audio) – Buhari by AmadiAba(op): 7:08am On Jul 04, 2015
Following the increased wave of attacks by the terrorist group Boko Haram, the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, on Friday, disclosed in an interview with the BBC, that, if the group is willing, the Federal Government is open to negotiations with the sect in order to find a lasting solution to the security crisis in the country,

In the interview, Adesina said the Federal Government was not ruling out negotiations with the sect if it would put an end to the activities of the group, stating that the insurgents had attacked so many villages and killed scores of people.
When BBC asked if the Federal Government was considering negotiations with the insurgent group, Adesina said:
“If they are willing, why not? You know attempts have been made for negotiations in the past and they didn’t work. Every reasonable person would want to see the end to this insurgency. So if they are willing, why not? You can’t rule that out.”

“These were very vicious attacks. People were killed in scores and it’s so sad,” he said.

The President had during his inauguration speech said he had launched a strategy to deal with the sect by relocating the military headquarters to Maiduguri, Borno State.
When asked if this would work, Adesina replied:
“This is going to work. There are machineries being put in place. It’s going to work. The recent killings by the sect were meant to break our resolve, to weaken it, but that will stop. It remains a priority to him (Buhari) to deal with the group.

“You will notice that his first two weeks of administration were dedicated to tackling the insurgency. He visited Chad and Niger Republics and the following week, the Presidents of those countries also visited him in Abuja.

“The President of Benin Republic and the Defence Minister of Cameroon visited him; machinery is being put in place and once we’re through, we will see the end of the group. The target time for the deployment of the multinational force is July ending; that is in a couple of weeks.”
