@ Abagoro

We do have some words meanings in common.

Oma----it is good, is well, is allright

Ma------Good, fine, allright etc.

Sometime, you have to develop a provenus
in context of the word, to explain why it means what you profess it to be.
There is no doubt our words are of the same root.

IGALA.

Decoding the word Igala in Edo,

IGA----------TO protect IGAGA---------Protecting. protection

LA------------pass, passage, so, igala is "the protectors of certain passage"
in antiquity. A warrior group. Usually as a result of ancient society's need
for defense. Like the Itsekiri, which means --- Answer to my wish or answer
to my prayer. They were formed as a group in ancient time for strategic coastal need of the greater societies.

@poster,

Thank you for that write-up.
The ex. military hooligans don't deserve a penny more of our money.
You are right their evil deeds need to be reversed.
Their criminality is what trickled down to civil armed-Robberies in the society.
Their intentions to steal, resulting in the creation of unnecessary national-pie.
Resulting in up-risings of the cheated regions--- Kidnapping of oil workers.
snowballing into general kidnappings and insecurity.

This is a straight line graph. The military is the root cause of most the illness that plagues
Nigeria Today.

CAP 28,

CUBA, LIBYA?
These are no societies we should want to emulate.
These are dictatorship nations till today.
Cuba is still trying to emerge from the 1950s.
Neither of the two have a workable peaceful design
for successions of govts up till today.

Moreover, without their military interventions in govt,
these nations would have been more than what they are
now developmentally. Sometimes, good things, take lot of time to achieve.
The uncertainty that await Libya after the death of Qaddafi is yet to be realized.
Let thank God for what we have now. And hope to perfect it for the next and unborn generations to come.

@CAP 28

You're right, hindsight is 20/20.
As "a very intelligent and upstanding individual",
Nzeogwu should had weigh the pros and cons
of their intentions in dept.
My criticism of him is not base on the tribalistic
executions of the coup. It is based on their act
of opening or initiating a criminal manner of Govt change.
He or they should have know, that, their own coup certainly
wont be the last. They introduced military criminality to the conscience
to the conscience of the society, certainly, other ambitious officers, or
people were bound to emulate their steps to effect govt change in the future.

You said " Had he succeeded you and i would have been having a totally
different conversations today----"

I disagree with this your above quote. I cannot see anyway he would have
be successful. Though there are chances the coup succeeded, and he had
his ways, by making himself or others the head of govt. But, that certainly
will not be the end of it. Him or whoever he imposed would have be changed
in due course by his inner members or outsider again by violence. So, his
introduction of military criminal intrusion that derailed the young nation is
what i fault him for.
I agree, British colonial elements rigged and manipulated the election to favor
their interest. This their attitude is apparent today in Iraq, Afghan's., Pakistan
and other nations they are working to pacify. However, there are many ways
to tame the shrude. Education of the masses is a better way in my opinion.

Now, you imagine, a condition where there were no military intrusions into
our governance. The 1st, 2ND and all successive administrations were changed
without military- force criminal intrusions. We would certainly have grow and prosper
without all the unnecessary pains we had experienced. So i fault Nzeogwu and his gang
for opening that can of worms (coup) into the nation's consciousness.Military intervention
was/is never a legal frame for effecting a govt change in the constitution. They should have
be treated as a common criminals that they were. And the rightful civilian successors sworn in.
PoliticsRe: Fela Supported Biafra by amazonia(m): 10:20pm On Nov 07, 2010
@ CAP28

AS much as i agreed with most of your sound
anallysis of Nigeria/Africa Geo-political situations,
i disagree with your assessments of the first coup
led by Nzeogwu. They laid a bad precedence that we
still suffer from today. Granted the election that
presceded the coup was unfair as was alleged.
However, it wasn't the duty of the military to intercede
that is the work and duty of the elections commission
and the judiciary to probe and correct the irregularities.

The only recourse for aggrieved persons like the majors,
should have been to educate the people for any subsequent
elections. So, is obvious that these young officers did not know
their duties.
After their errors of commission, they should have been court-marshalled
and summarily executed to appease the desecrated spirit of unity of the nation.

My debate is about why ethnicity is more important to me than my Relgion.
Which does not implied i am Agnosti, or aetheist. I went further to explained why.
I am not interested in debating the intricacies of faith.
You know it easy to acquire any faith tru due deligency and baptismal by water.

So, my blood ties is more thicker than my water bond.
Thru my ethicity, my relationship to God is by blood. Because he created the ethnic group.

DON"T BE A LOST SOUL. Know you real God/Allah given identity.

Ethic Group ----- Ethnic Clan ----- Your Family ---- Then You.
{These are your genetic bloodline},
IE your DNA identifier. Or
your natural identity.

Region identity is acquired taste-------- it is a social identity.
It is man"s conjecture of the Supreme, which might or might not be true.

My ethnic origin is more important to me, than my religion affiliation.
My tribe is me. It is the blood that flow in me. It is my very nature.
Religion on the other hand, is an acquired practice, cultivated. It can
be unlearned, or convertable. It is man perceptions of divinity. While
ethnic (tribal) identity is a manifestation of evolutionary work of the Divine.
So my divine identity is infinitely more of who i am.

PoliticsRe: Who owns oil? - This Madness Called Niger-delta Struggle Must Stop by amazonia(m): 12:33am On Nov 04, 2010
The bottom line is that, the laws and constitutional orders designed by
Britian for their selfish interest of maximizing their explorations and
exploitations of our natural resources, have proved grossly inadequate for
Nigeria for the past 50years. These laws must be changed to promote
serious economic diversities and regional specializations.

@Krendo.
I think is a shame, and self foolery to continue on a part that have
stymied by failures in what ever which way. We should be debating
substitute or alternate orders to replaced this old rules that have been
holding the nation back. Our existence as a nation so far is a prove
that what we have be doing has not been working. The Laws Need TO Change.
The laws are to serve the citizens. Not the other way around.

I love being Nigeria. I just wish the name  should be changed to something that properly
described us. The name is so foreign to all our cultures. ALL our African names are meaningful
words and phrases. The word (Nigeria) is mechanical, devoid of emotions and prayerful wishes implicit in our
native names.

A good indigenous name will go a long way to help us foster new beginning and unity. And
more love for the entity. Now the name Nigeria seems impersonal, people are
willy to rape and abuse her without looking back Things they wont do to their ethnic groups
because they love them.

Since the unite is virtual, all that need to be

And can be redrawn if necessary. However,

by representatives from both parties. A meeting of

I agree, Igbo and Hausa are not marginalized. In fact, they are the marginalizer of everybody else.
So, won't it be prudent, if we, Edo,Delta, and Yoruba give them just one chance to rectify the imbalance?
By having them pay more taxes. They make more, so they should pay more. And the marginal payments
over and above their current dues should be given to Edo,Delta, and Yoruba to enhance developments.
What do you think about that? If they refuse, we can then decide to reunite with our cousins in Benin.

PoliticsRe: How Philip Emeagwali Lied His Way To Fame by amazonia(m): 9:02pm On Oct 21, 2010
Something is wrong somewhere. Emeagwali used the existing computer of his time
to program a school required modeling to certify his degree requirement in civil
engineering. In the mean time, entered and won award with his modeling. On the
long run, the schooling find the model unsatisfactory for his PhD requirement.
For anybody who is familiar with U.S schools. All departments, especially engineering's,
business and sciences usually require some type of modelings that require writing and
using computer program. But this does not make the student a computer programmer nor
a computer engineer. so Emeagwali is a BS, Ms Civil Engineer. My man should respite
