Who inspired you to study medicine?

I AM ABOUT TO PRINT MY ADMISSION LETTER. IT HAS BEEN UPLOADED TO EKSU'S SITE. WE ARE WAITING FOR JAMB UPLOAD.

teekrackz: it seems eksu is on break! I ve bought my e transact pin nd also printed my admission letter, it remains paying my acceptance fees, hope january isn't too far?

I got my etransact pin today through my brother in Unad and I tried printing my admission letter but it displayed "your name not on the admission list".
Does dis mean dat eksu has not uploaded d name of those who made it through d supplementary list?
Also, no admission yet on jamb site!
And my name is boldy written on d supplementary list.

oluafolabi: My bro, please accept EKSU's admission, do you know why am telling you this?
1) Eksu's medicine will get accredited sooner or later.. I think the highest class for now is part 3, before they graduate they will get accredited.
2) I am very conversant with OAU, Medicine and Dentistry are as competitive as hell.. So have you asked yourself this question.. What if something happens and I don't get admitted?.. And OAU is not nice at all if you are 1point short of the cutoff they will just 'throw' you into any course either in the biological sciences or physical sciences.
3) With the amount of experience you have gained in the PD, you should be able to blast both JAMB and IFE's crazy post jamb while still in EKSU..

Please note, although the quality of the school matters sometimes, it is the course and the fulfillment you derive from what you are studying that matters most.
I have friends that couldn't get into med in Nigeria but went as far as Ukraine(despite the harsh weather conditions, racism, et_al) in pursuit of their dreams.. So my bro, Take the medicine in EKSU first.. You might just be lucky and cross back to IFE through your UTME..

Like aluta said, this is a tough question and very difficult to answer, but in my own humble opinion, I'd prefer u go for the EKSU admission, cos I know b4 the end of 6yrs they will surely be accredited!!!

Also, since u said OAUpd is very competitive, I think its better to go for medicine in EKSU than going for pre-degree where u may be given another course in the end!!!

However, if u have strong connections in OAU, as in VERY STRONG CONNECTIONS, then u may continue with the OAU admission!!!

Though, i had connection last year ,my admission to oau medicine was abortive cos it was nt strong enough( apart from God's will).

In addition, my parents av spent close to 200,000 naira on d pd programme, but dey are still willing to follow my decision on where to go.
I acknowledge d fact dat medicine admission is competitive.
I BLIV CONNECTION IS EASY TO MAKE as FAR as GOD IS INVOLVED and good grades are attained.

alutacontinua: Dis is a very confusing situation cos u're nt 100% sure of any of dem. If u think u'll be able to make d cut-off points for OAU (pls, be sincere with urself), den, i think u shld continue the pre-degree program but i don't think d UNAD thing is adviseable. Maybe u should just defer the admission in UNAD till next year and c au d pre-degree tin goes. But i feel that going for the OAU one is a better option if u'll be able to make it. The truth is dat admission to medicine through the pd is very competitive.
17 students were admitted out of 800+ dat applied for medicine this year.
Though, I am putting in my best in d programme to get medicine but one can not tell what 2moro will bring.
Also, i dont think all universities in Nigeria defer admission.

Is it advisable to accept medicine admission in a yet to be accredited college of medicine or to continue OAU's pd programme with the hope of getting medicine @ d end.
Eksu(unad) just offered me admission to study medicine.. Though, she has a teaching hospital and she is working earnestly to get accreditation.
i am currently a predite in OAU. Pls, shud i quit the programme or opt for d medicine in EKSU(UNAD)?

torres2: who told you Eksu(MBBS) is not accredited OR maybe I don't get what you are saying, but if you mean eksu medcine is not accredited then it is not true at all. If you still aspire to go to OAU, I will advice you to accept EKSU adm first, thank God OAU is federal uni if given adm there schl is not that much, my bro live is a risk so think about it and result to a positive thing

My own story was a little bit similar to yours, applied for Medcine given Bch, I refused at first but mum now advised me to take the course which i did, with the hope of writing jamb the following yr which I did but still couldn't get admitted. Scored 59.8 in putme but just thank God for not letting off of such offer it would have been an extra yr @ home since 2010,but I thank God am almost in 200level now in some couple of month not regreting the action I took.

so my bro hold on to it, then if another better offer come then choose it.

I acknowledge how competitive it is. Even some guys in my hostel are set to increase the cut off for medicine next year.

Money is not the probs as far as God is involved and medicine is concerned.
Medicine admission through OAU PD is competitive, if the truth must be told.
Though, I am set for the great battle in moro.
But no one can tell what 2moro will bring...
I've made some enquiries abt the status of the college of MBBS,UNAD.
I am still on it.. Apart from God's will on what to choose,
The status of the college of med will pivot my decision. I.e accreditation.
I av obtained dis 2013 jamb already since it's a basic requirement of pd.... I'm bent to study dis MBBS in accredited school of medicine.

The question is dat when will eksu get full accreditation for MBBS?
This will induce d option to deem right.

torres2: i feel the pain you bear but with the look of things 2nd list is not sure it is 50:50 but if at all you will admitted it can never be medicine not a curse o but they have exceeded the number they admit which is 45 every year but maybe you make more clarification because you have an encouraging mark.

I think some schools substitute biology with agric depending on the course of study.

All eyes were on Aketi cos of he luks like a prof but to my surprise he didnt speak well like a gud orator.
Dr Mimiko has performed well... That gave him d nerve to boast of his innumerable awards conferred on him withn 3 1/2 years of his admistration,
Talking abt mega skul,modern market,abiye project, gani fawehinmi heart diagnotic centre, dualisation of some roads and lots more.
The only gripe i av against him is dat of employment opportunities,industrialization. etc,

I am single and I love it dat way.
It makes me feel totally commited to God.
It saves my airtime and money.
No need calling,messaging.
I av a lot of time to think abt my future and not just abt a girl who will run from me if i dont make it in future.
Future first... then relationship follows.
