grin grin grin grin grin.....and how does all these crap about Addis Ababa rail or Ghana airport in these African capital cities BUILT BY THEIR FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS concern Anambra STATE? In sane countries, it is their Federal Govt. that will be building the Anambra intl. airport to boost commerce in those countries the same way the Nigerian FG built ALL airports in northern Nigeria to boost Hajj operations ( EXCEPT Katsina airport).

To begin with, Anambra isn't the capital of Nigeria. So you are preaching to the choir. Please exit the thread and go to Nigerian threads where such would be appropriate to plead that Abuja or Lagos airport should come to par with Kotoka Intl. airport.

It is also hilarious that you are posting the Addis Ababa rail here. To begin with, railways are in the "exclusive list" in Nigeria's constitution where state governments are banned to build railways. Again, if you were sincere, you would be agitating that the silly 1999 constitution that bans states from building critical infrastructure be taken town. But you would not do that because the truth is that you truly don't want to see development in Anambra. You just want to hide under irrational excuses that does not make sense to justify why you would never applaud the state for truly punching above its weight.

Even rich states like mine took more that 8 years under Uduaghan to build an airport! Obiano is well on track to repeat the feat in less than 2 years! Mind you Anambra does not even see up to 50% of the revenue available to Delta state. Not to mention others such as Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, katsina, Rivers, Akwa Ibom etc that enjoy gigantic federal allocation. The only state that is punching above its weight like Anambra is Ebonyi.

Your bitterness and wicked heart towards Anambra and her people will continue to bring you frustration in life because you truly can't do a thing against anyone God has blessed. That is why Nigeria is in such tattered state because instead of supporting Igbos to build a strong Nigeria, they have concentrated on how to marginalize Igbos and under develop Nigeria in the process. What i love about that situation is that in the end, they will all wake up someday and realize that as they spent precious time meeting to develop wicked plans & policies against Igbos, the Igbos themselves did not waste their own time on planning evil for them. Instead the Igbos busied themselves with how to develop themselves. In the end, when they are jealous and call Igbos names for their achievements, they forget they spent their own time thinking and plotting evil while the Igboman spent his own time on how to better himself. Just like you right now, i would advise you to use your time better on what is beneficial for your state. Osun state needs your power of research to tell them who to copy in order to come out of their financial mess. Than coming here with all sorts of half clever deceit that end up fooling nobody. You are wasting your time and using your talent for evil.

BTW, i hope you have seen the picture showing the asphalting of the airport 3.7 KM runway in progress. If you haven't seen it, let me post it again for you. So keep eating out your heart.

To understand the dark hatred and contempt-filled mindset of Mktinsight for Anambra is to look at his half clever deceits. When he wants to belittle Anambra accomplishments such as to compare Anambra airport terminal size, he uses the biggest airport terminals in the world such as London Heathrow or New York's JFK. But when he wants to compare where Anambra is developmentally, he points to places that are not even as developed as Abakaliki just to undermine the entire state.

While i have nothing against Kisumu, we should not try to pass it off as a standard that should be copied. Kisumu harbors the biggest slum in Kenya. Infact if you look at the satellite image of Kisumu, you will see that the slum area cover greater than 70% of the city. While the Kisumu governor has continued to vastly improve the city, get more international airlines to use the Kisumu International airport, it is still a far cry from what should be touted as an example to copy. If Anambra wants examples of African cities to copy, it will be Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, etc.

Mktinsight stop deriding yourself suggesting Kisumu or Bamenda as places that are better than Anambra in your silly warped mind.

Forget the fact we have airport that's less than 10mins to Anambra, what we are running now is independent government. in the real sense Anambra is overdue to have an airport of international standard, unlike what airpeace boss said "Aviation is a catalyst for economic development", Aviation open up a region to the world.
If not the kind of centering and segregations in Nigeria this airport we are arguing now should be built by the federal government, that's why Atiku Abubakar used building an international cargo airport in Anambra state for it's 2019 campaign.

This surrounding airport you all are saying now that we should use is not up to standard and it doesn't have Aircargo and cargo handling facilities.
The worst thing Anambra state will do is spending money to upgrade airport that's not in Anambra state, only Mental human being would suggest that. Instead of ANSG upgrading other airport we should use the fund to build our own airport which we are doing now.

Anambra state have more economic activities, trade and commerce, industrial etc than every other states in SE and SS.
Only ungrateful souls and jealous ones will be against this Anambra International Cargo and Passengers Airport.

Very good points

PoliticsUNILAG, UNIZIK, COOU- Won National Geological & Geophysics Academic Competition by AmericanQuarter(op): 10:24am On Nov 26, 2020
Anambra State has extended its acute competitiveness from basic education to university education.

The two oldest universities in the state have just won two out of the three prizes in the 2020 prestigeous annual Basin Evaluation Competition among geology and geophysics students in Nigerian universities.

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, won the second prize and Chukwuemeka Odumegwu- Ojukwu University at Uli took the third position in the competition endowed by top petroleum companies in Nigeria. The University of Lagos at Akoka won the first place.

“It is amazing that our state university undergraduates could do so well because only year one and year two students from the institution participated whereas even master’s degree candidates represented some other universities”, declared Mrs Sally Mbanefo, the Anambra State Commissioner in charge of tertiary education.

“It shows the silent revolution going on in our state in every field, especially education where we have consistently demonstrated superiority”.

The Anambra State government has already extolled both Nnamdi Azikiwe University and Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University for their brilliant performance in the national competition.

A statement issued in Awka, Mr. C. Don Adinuba, Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment disclosed that Governor Willie Obiano has spoken to the vice chancellors of the two universities, saying the governor is heartened that universities named after the Great Zik of Africa and the inimitable Odumegwu-Ojukwu are living up to their names.

The governor pledged to continue to support the universities, whether owned by the state government or the Federal Government, “so that they will continue to excell.

“In fact, we will support even privately owned universities in the state to see if all the three prizes in the annual Basin Evaluation Competition will come to our state from next year, with both publicly owned and privately owned institutions bringing honours to the people and government of Anambra State”.

Anambra State has in the last five years been on a steady upward swing in educational achievements from mostly basic education.

Crucifixio Chinua Umeonyiagu, a pupil of God’s Wisdom International Primary School, Nnewi, last week took the first position by scoring 199 marks out of 200 in the 2020 National Common Entrance Examination results just released by the National Examinations Council (NECO).

At the secondary level, Francis Chijioke Osakwe from Umuoji in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State scored an A1 in each of the nine subjects he sat for in the 2020 West African School Certificate Examination which was released earlier this month.

Furthermore, two indigenes of Anambra State, namely, Ego Agnes Maduafokwa from Ihiala, and David Nwobi from Njikoka Local Government Area, scored the highest marks in the 2020 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Examination (JME).

Anambra State in 2018 put Nigeria on top of the technology map of the world after a global contest when five students of Regina Pacis Model Secondary School, Onitsha, who represented Nigeria and Africa at the World Technovation Challenge in Silicon Valley, San Francisco, USA won the coveted Gold Medal.

With the recent awards won by Nnamdi Azikiwe University and Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University in the Basin Evaluation Competition, Anambra State has further consolidated its reputation as Nigeria’s educationally most competitive state.
