The Igbo today re-examined themselves and resolved to think home so as to develop the Igbo nation. Igbo leaders who gathered in Awka the State capital to take this decision reasoned that the state of the nation today makes it imperative for the people to look inwards to build Igboland. The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo made this possible as it called out the government and traditional institutions of the South-East states to a think-tank in Awka tagged Igbo Unity Forum. Governor Willie Obiano played host to the meeting held at Awka Governors, former governors, prominent citizens, including former Chief of General Staff in the Gen. Ibrahim Babangida military regime, commodore Ebitu Ukiwe Former governors of old Anambra State Chukwuemeka Ezeife and industrialist Pascal Dozie, attended the session. Also there was former Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral Alison Madueke . The leaders said the Igbo have what it takes to solve any problem that might arise in the region. Ohaneze President-General Gary Enwo Igariwe, represented by his deputy Mr Ogochukwu Onyema described the meeting as critical to the rebuilding of Igbo land. He said that igbos should come together in other to solve their problems noting that ndi Igbo are known for resilience and industry. But regretted that about thirty per cent of investments in Lagos and Abuja is owned by Ndigbo which he said neccesiated Ohanaze Ndi Igbo to set up the Igbo Unity Forum . Commodore Ukiwe urged the Igbo to forget the past and look forward, urging south East Governors to form a common front in other to speak with one voice. http://absradiotv.com/index.php/state/5202-igbo-leaders-converge-in-awka-call-for-think-home-philosophy

Our attention has been drawn to a publication on page 14 of Punch newspaper of 7th October 2016 titled - “APGA Crisis: Obiano May Join APC,” which alleged that the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano may dump the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the All Progressives Congress (APC). The general public is hereby advised to disregard the report as it is totally false and does not have the slightest semblance of truth. Governor Obiano remains a committed member of APGA whose loyalty to the party is unalloyed and whose passion for the growth and development of the party is beyond equivocation. It is strange how a clique of internally displaced politicians has continued to circulate spurious and misleading information on a non-existent and sensational figment of their fevered imagination in order to sow confusion among the populace. Despite the repeated rebuttal of this false report in the past, these vendors of untruth have continued to plant misleading information in the media about a false defection of Governor Obiano to one party today and another party tomorrow. Nevertheless, we are not unaware that a major motive for the planting of these lies is to distract the governor from focusing on his job and consequently derail the steady and assured March of Anambra State to prosperity. So, we shall continue to rebut their malignant lies and save the populace from their corrosive influence. As the Leader and Chairman of BoT of APGA, Governor Obiano is fully aware of the weight and significance of his responsibility and will never waiver in his commitment to the party. We therefore advise all mischief makers and authoritative speculators to desist from further efforts to create the impression that Governor Obiano has jumped political ship as it only creates doubts and credibility issues for such publications who are obviously diminished in the sight of discerning readers who would always recall that the report was misleading. We also advise APGA faithful, Ndi Anambra and the general public to be mindful of any reports alleging that Governor Obiano has either decamped or is planning to decamp as it is nothing better than a false piece of irritating propaganda that should be ignored by responsible citizens. Independence day celebration in Anambra!

Proudlyngwa:I don't have time for delusional and incoherent people. Take your leave so you can reason very well! |
EasternActivist:Since the governor stationed security personnel in the area, there has never been any incidence of invaders. The area is securely Anambra territory.
|
Proudlyngwa:Stop embarrassing yourself. The news report I posted were their operations as at last year, their current output is at 12000bpd. Please take your nonsense elsewhere! |
CliffordOrji:LOL..okay thank you, we have heard you. Hehehehe |
Proudlyngwa:My friend, you said they were not producing crude but gas. Which field were abandoned? Are you working in the company..NO, so why are you saying all you don't know. Yes, they are producing about 12bpd right now, do you have any problem with it? Please take yourself out of here if you don't have anything reasonable to say. Nonsense! |
So they never got oil but gas? Now see below and tell us how it happened last year and ongoing till now? Proudlyngwa:Anambra State plans to increase the production of crude oil in its wells to 3,000 barrels per day by September. The firm, which was conceived by the Anambra State Government under former governor of the state, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, was inaugurated in August, 2012 by former President Good luck Jonathan. The company said it had concluded arrangements with an indigenous company, Nails & Stanley Limited, to establish a gas plant in Umueje in Ayamelum Local Government Area of the state. Managing Director of Orient Petroleum Resources, Mr. Sunny Okoye, said these on Monday after a meeting of the Board of Directors of the company with the state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia. Okoye added that the company had revved up activities in two new oil wells in its Aguleri oilfields that would shore up the company’s production capacity to 3,000bpd before September this year. He said, “Orient is not only working assiduously in boosting the production capacity of its oil wells, the company is also developing the vast gas resources in the state. “We are dealing with gas development on two fronts. The first one is the gas production we have right now, side by side with oil. We are looking at how to transform it to an income earning venture.” The managing director explained the plan to generate income from the gas resources informed its partnership with Nails & Stanley to produce Compressed Natural Gas that would be used for industrial power as well as powering automobiles and a sundry other activities. Okoye stated, “We are engaging Nails & Stanley for that. They are on track to install their compressor cans soon, and as soon as we are ready to flag their operations off in the state, we are going to develop the ANU Gas Field. “We have a well, which we are going to use to produce sufficient gas for increased power production in Anambra State. That’s the second plan of our gas development plan.” www.punchng.com/news/orient-targets-3000-barrels-per-day-in-anambra/ |
Proudlyngwa:My friend you are talking out of point. Please we don't want this back and forth, just leave us with our news. Thank you |
CliffordOrji:There is peace in the area right now. The security personnel are there for maintenance of the existing peace. Just like every other area where there is oil installations there is usually security personnel stationed there, it is not peculiar to Anambra oil facilities. The bulk of the oil is in Anambra territory. At least 2 commercial wells(Anambra River-1 & Anambra River-2) are all securely in Anambra territory and that is where Orient is drilling right now. The 3rd well which is in contention lies at the boundary between Anambra-Kogi-Enugu state, with Anambra still having the bulk of it. |
Proudlyngwa: But you said that exploration is not going on as a result of contention, so I was wondering which area is in contention, because oil production is being done within Anambra territory right now. Where the bulk of the oil is, is in Anambra territory and it consists of 2 large commercial wells(Anambra River-1 and Anambra River-2). The 3rd one in contention exists on the boundary between Anambra-Kogi-Enugu state, and then again the bulk of the oil at the boundary lies within the Anambra territory. |
Proudlyngwa:My friend stop misinforming the people with your lies. Which area is under contention, Aguleri community or Otuocha which are all in Anambra territory? If you don't know, please ask questions, oil production is going on there right now as I write this piece. Please stop or leave the thread if you don't like good things in your life! |
