HealthRe: High BP At A Young Age, What Could Be The Cause by Amex2018: 6:50pm On Aug 26, 2022
Hi golddust6000 and every contributor on this thread. I had to follow because of the rich value of the info being provided. As at 19yrs when I was in 100L, my BP was reading 160/80 and 140/90. I did nothing much to bring it down. Maybe because I was naive or so. But over time these last 3 years of actively working, I have noticed my BP to be high. I have decided to do something about it and currently on drugs. However, the doctor attending to me said my BP is fluctuating as it goes up and down sometimes but he said nevertheless that I am hypertensive.

After going through the thread yesterday, I went to the market to buy ginger, tumeric, garlic and beetroot. My question now is whether I should pause the drugs and use the fruits or I should combine them together. I don't like drugs as a person but my health needs to be attended to.

Should I also blend the garlic, ginger, tumeric and beetroot together or take it raw.

Thanks everyone for your kind responses and advise

golddust6000:
exactly. I stop taking bp meds, beetroot and garlic, plus ginger mix all like juice, I was surprised my bp went from 161 to august 131 just for only two days o. I can never take bp meds never, even my kidney function was 56, now it’s 72 bro there’s wonders in nature I must attest.

Massive congratulations to you bro.

Kindly share some snippets especially the experience part of your CV. How do you mean by the usage of verb action words?

engray:
I am a living testimony of the popular saying "Heaven helps those who help themselves". In helping oneself in life, you have to be strategically intentional about it.
Job-hunting in a nation like Nigeria as they say is "a job in itself". The rejections and disappointments are inseparable duo one has to deal with. But I tell you that with God and a change of strategy and patience you'll land that job sooner than you think.

I'll share my story and I hope it inspires us

EPISODE 1
I started work with one of the bank's in Nigeria as a contract staff back in 2015. As a fresh graduate, it felt huge for me with salary of 100k till I was deep into it and the many frustrations started to unfold. Fast forward to 2017, I started applying for jobs again. It was a weekly ritual for me. The deafening silence from not being called for aptitude test/interview, & the numerous rejection mails heightened my frustrations. 2018, it dawned on me that something has to be done about the document representing me -MY CV.
I paid for rewrite but was never satisfied.
Then I decided to dedicate myself to rewriting and updating my CV/Resume from time to time.It was at that point I realized I needed to be intentional about what I do at work, how I do it and the results I achieved. You know why? It's simply cos everything I do including the results I achieved must go down into my CV. I took my frustrating job more seriously and responsibly, I volunteered when there is need to, I was more involved in team building. Guess what, these eventually eventually brought me some positive recognition and promotion to a leadership role(which never reflected in my salary since I was just a contract staff). But I took it anyways. You know why ? MY C.V!... to be continued.

This is quite sad. Relationship these days are becoming something else. People find it very easy to get in and out relationship without understanding the impact of their actions. This is why I don't dive into relationships even with the constant pressure from friends and girls.
I can only imagine how much pain this is causing you.

I would want to advise that people get into relationship with a clear purpose, definition and destination. This is life saver honestly.

Additionally, ensure at the beginning of your relationship you have someone you can be accountable to especially as a lady. This is very important going by what is happening now a days.

But people would not want anyone have a say in their affair because they consider it as private and personal lives but when things go south, they come to the public to share their story and seek sympathy.

I ask people to explain the essence of a relationship if it is about the possibility of working things to marriage level.

God1000:
Nigeria is deeply divided along ethnic and religious lines, we don't like each other, we insult ourselves everyday, we dehumanise and degrade each other for nefarious reasons.

But outside the shores of Nigeria, we are all treated the same way, nobody wants to know your tribe, we all carry the same image and identity out there.

This is why we should refrain from playing ethnic card every now and then, because it's not healthy.

I still remember when I posted about my tribe (igede) on this platform and how some unscrupulous Nigerians lambasted me severely.
Meanwhile I've defended Nigeria on different social media platforms from south Africans, Ghanians, Kenyans etc whenever they attack us more than any other person in Nigeria, yet some persons don't even want to hear about my tribe.

We are all responsible for our woes, be the change you want to see.
You do have a point.

The issue of ethnicity has affected Nigeria's development and growth more than any other thing. I don't know how we are going to get over this but I strongly believe our leaders have a big role to play in the integration of all tribes in the country.

BTW, I share the same tribe(Igede) with you.
Good to have a brother here.
Compliments of the season

I just got certified by PMI as a PMP. I desire for a change of job. Recommend and tag me should openings for PM comes up in your organization.

I am asking as well to solicit your opinions on how to market myself in the job market. I am a young man of less than 30 years
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Amex2018: 12:20pm On Nov 07, 2021
Nice one.
I am happy to announce that I got certified as a PMP through PMI on the 6/11/2021. During my preparation, I read and studied extensively on Agile/hybrid approach to project management which is now a requirement and a major part of exam content for passing PMP.

Now as a project manager, I am looking for opportunities to practice away from my present field. Do well to hit me up should there's opening especially for a scrum master
Aphrodite007:
I promised to give pointers about tech occupations. Of course there are the core tech occupations like infrastructure manager, network architects, technical architects, developers (either front or backend), automation testing or even some data professions (these require sql, python, r and some familiarity with tableau, power bi, etc). As for manual testing, if you have experience with software and/or UX experience, you may easily become a manual tester (pays well).

I am not a pro in the above so I will leave it to the professionals to speak of. Out of all the above tech occupations, the easiest and most pragmatic to get into would be security manager (which requires little to no code, as your infrastructure staff would do the needed to help you) but security requires vast experience in the tech industry (that’s why I pity people with no experience reading cyber security).
Anyway the good news is, there are some professions that you can crack easily, these are:

Scrum master-- if you are a manager, cheerleader and teacher, you can do a scrum master course on scrum.org, watch looooads of scrum or agile videos on YT and go on some other agile courses to become a scrum master—m but prepare to start as a junior if you have never had the role before.

Product owner-- again read up about it, make sure you do your certification on scrum.org, then whatever industry you apply to, make sure it is an industry you have worked in very well because POs always need the experience to make good decisions.

Delivery manager—if you have worked as a Project manager before, just learn about agile (again scrum.org and many agile videos, change your mindset (no more controlled environment, you philosophy must be to fail fast) and then you can convert your title to DM- they pay well.
Business analyst, these are pretty popular, just make sure you have some certs and you have experience in the industry you want to work in. You can learn about BA in BCS or IIBA- pays well.

Product manager-- my favourite, well just be experienced in the product and have good enough experience in being a BA, DM or PO. You must be familiar with agile and product development life cycle.

Take these jobs, go on indeed, look up the jobs, then try and acquired whatever skill the jobs require within the next 4 months. Tune your cv to reflect the job spec, practice well so you have speak eloquently during your interview. You can also convert your job as an accountant, finance analyst etc to the above jobs, but you have to be smart about it.

SavageResponse:
You don't need anyone's help you can make the payment yourself.

You can use your Naira Mastercard to make payment or you ask the bank to process the payment but in this case you would need to fill a Form A at the bank and they will charge you about $50.

What I just told you is based on my experience paying for the CFA exam which is conducted by an American organisation
I would prefer the Naira Mastercard because I have a voucher to use which will offset the fees. Can you tell me more or how can I contact you?

@Ajaymain and @jjj37, I promise that I won't take out my precious time to respond to your very unfortunate posts here again.

The truth is, whenever you post, it tells a lot about who and what you are.

I made it abundantly clear to everyone that is sensible and reasonable enough, that the information I share here are from people I believe should know. I can put a name to everything I have posted here from day one.

I have had the opportunity to have connected with about the most privileged persons and also some of the most qualified applicants in the course of this recruitment. I speak with applicants on this very platform that reside in the UK, Netherlands, Senegal, Ghana, etc that uploaded their credentials after the second assessment.

For God's sake, this is an anonymous platform. What do you think is my personal gain doing all I do here? It's really unfortunate we have people that should know better behaving and talking in this unbelievably uncultured and crude manner. I really wish I could help.

Let me reiterate the fact that this unwarranted provocation will not deter me from posting whatever I deem necessary. I only have love and best wishes for all of you here. And not even you, birds of a feather, can change that. Thank you.
PoliticsIgede Youths Pays Courtesy Visit To Ministry Of Water Resources by Amex2018(op): 12:07am On Sep 08, 2021
IGEDE YOUTHS PAY COURTESY CALL ON BUHARI'S MINISTER, COMMEND GOVERNMENT AND MAKE NEW REQUESTS

By Smith Akoko | September 7, 2021

In Abuja today, Igede Youth Council's delegation, led by their President, Comrade Andyson Iji Egbodo, met with the Honourable Minister of Water Resources, Engineer Suleiman Adamu on a courtesy call in his office.

The Council commended the minister's quick response to their distress call on the outbreak of a strange water-borne disease that reportedly killed about 273 Igede people at Oye-Obi and other riverine communities in Obi and Oju LGAs of Benue State, spanning the first quarter of 2020.

Noting that the story would have been worse had the minister not acted that swiftly, the minister's guests said his handling of the office is demonstrative of commitment to President Muhammadu Buhari's drive for positive change in the public sector and confessed that their faith in Nigeria is renewed by Adamu's leadership qualities.

In part, Andyson addressed the minister thus: "May we also convey the gratitude of the entire Igede people across the globe to the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and the Ministry of Water Resources, particularly under your kind control for the four motorized boreholes that helped to nip the killer water-borne disease in the bud.

"Very importantly, sir, we would like to further appreciate you for granting us audience within a very short time of request for a courtesy call on you. This open-door policy which is rarely applied in modern leadership, in addition to your personal receptiveness, has crystallized your commitment to the President Muhammadu Buhari's drive for change in the public sector.

"It is worthy of note that you spent no time to create new frontiers in the management of Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority on assumption of duty in 2015 which has largely repositioned the Authority. Your sterling leadership qualities have also been fully demonstrated in the area of flood control particularly in Benue State.

"The uncountable interventions of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources across the country in water-related challenges in the last six years are worthy of commendation. You have broken the jinx of the past administrations in Nigeria which lacked the political will to advance sound policies and programmes to tackle the perennial problems head on.

"Please, permit us to place on record that our faith, as youth leaders in Nigeria, is renewed by the quality of service delivery of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources under your leadership. It clearly shows that this government is indeed of the people, even down to rural areas.

"Meanwhile, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that as the third largest ethnic group in Benue State, Igede is not occupying any position in the senior cadre of the Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority, neither is any Igede man on the board of the agency. We, therefore, humbly request that we be considered for appointments into these categories.

"In the same vein, we would like to request for five additional motorized boreholes for the other communities that are facing the risk of such outbreak as the killer water-borne disease in Oye-Obi and environs."

In his response, the Honourable Minister appreciated the visit by the socio-cultural organization and promised to look into the Council's requests and get back to them through the Director of the Ministry of Water Resources, Mrs Alice Ojowu.

Church friends can come in handy as a way to cure your boredom. This has really helped me during my time in PH and now in Warri.

You can consider reading books as well. I have tonnes of books that I can share for free with you if you're interested. Just single like you

MeghaneMorgane:
I am a young lady in my mid 20s. I don’t live with my parents. I live alone because I work in another city different from where my parents live. My problem now is immediately I get back home from work, I begin to feel lonely. Because of this, I like to close late from work just to keep my mind busy. I close early only if I have other errands to run or if I am very tired.

When I get home, I speak with my parents who try their best to keep me company. But there is still lots of time left before I go to bed. In the height of my boredom, I come to nairaland. Then I go to other blogs to read the news. I read all the news blogs I normally follow. I check out my chats on WhatsApp and Telegram. Usually there isn’t anyone chatting with me because everyone is busy with their lives. I go to Youtube which I have become tired of watching. And at some time I’m just bored to my mind. I don’t like to impose myself on anybody and so I only chat with people who come to chat with me including neighbours.

Sometimes I just want someone around that I can talk to but I’m alone by myself. Single people, how do you cope with boredom. I mean single people who are really single not the ones cohabiting or visiting their partners. Some tips will be very helpful right now.
