This is so touching! The first time I actually heard about Tunji Okunsanya was via Teju Baby Face show and I still can't believe that he is dead! Teju posted this tribute some minutes ago...

#tributetoMIC 2 (dat generous man!) I walked into his office to invite him 2 Season2 of our show in 2010. We had never met but he hugged me.#tributetoMIC 3 He told me how he loved our show and how I would go far up the ladder of Success. I discovered that he liked to laugh a lot.

#tributetoMIC 4 on the day of recording, he came to time and when we were done, he shared money around like a politician going to the polls.

#tributetoMIC 5 and so we would become 'friends'. More like Egbon (elder sibling) and aburo (younger sibling).

#tributetoMIC 6 when my father died 2years later and we reeled in pain and confusion, his boys were there in 30mins with MIC's best hearse.

#tributetoMIC 7 without a mention of money, they took my dad to the best morgue around and immediately started making plans for the burial.

#tributetoMIC 8 in his office, he gave me my pick of the best coffins and asked me to bring any amount of money I wished

#tributetoMIC 9 'I could do it for free', he said, 'but I don't want you to bury your father in a coffin that costs you nothing'.

#tributetoMIC 10 on burial day, he personally carried my father's body all the way to our village, Ajaawa, in Oyo State. He spent the night.

#tributetoMIC 11 next morning, he danced in front of the coffin to and from the church and personally laid my dad to rest.

#tributetoMIC 12 he also stayed for the party after, 'spraying' money on us all as we all danced to Shina Peters, trying to bury our sorrow

#tributetoMIC 19 when it was time to get married, he danced behind me on the engagement day, wearing my colors and yes, sharing money. Again

#tributetoMIC 20 Not minding age, he threw himself prostrate beside me and my friends as we 'begged' for my wife in d tradition of the land.

#tributetoMIC 21 He would call me up every now and again, always chuckling. 'Iyawo mi nko', he would ask? (how is my wife?)

Channels' TV reporter, Henry Ogunjimi is the happiest man on earth at the moment - having to marry that beautiful woman you completely adore and love so much; the one woman that makes your heart beat so fast and makes you feel complete, yeah!

Henry Ogunjimi quit bachelorhood on the 7th of September when he walked the aisle with his woman, Adenike Oluwafemi, to the admiration of their parents; Mr and Mrs A.J Oluwafemi and Mr and Mrs E.I Ogunjimi, friends and family members at Saint Stephens primary school ground in Aromoko Ekiti.

"We met here in Lagos in September 2009 in a transit...we got talking and while alighting from the transit I got her phone number. From there we became friends - innocent friends with no special strings attached, as a matter of fact I was more of a mentor to her when we initially became friends"

The official dating started when the lady he hoped to marry didn't take him serious - and to think that it's now a blessing in disguise! He soon realized that Adenike was beginning to fit into the perfect vision of his dream woman - she's beautiful, caring, she listens, peaceful and amazing!

Following the nature of his job - ardent reporter/producer with Channels TV, he rarely has the time to think or plan for marriage but one morning...

"I was dressing up for work and I looked in the mirror and decided that it was time. Right there I knew in my heart that I was ready for marriage" wow, just like that!

So, he approached his mum immediately to tell her that he was ready to quit the bachelorhood but when he did, his mum's reaction was kinda discouraging - they disagreed at the first.

"Is it not too soon? who are you getting married to? the notice is too short o..." she said (she probably wasn't ready to let go of her son; the baby she carried in her womb for nine months, watched him grow into a toddler, a boy, a teenager and then a man and then giving his hand to another woman, awww!) but when Henry's dad was brought into the picture, they all reached a mutual understanding.

On the completion of task one, Henry forged ahead to task two which was proposing to Adenike.

So, they began to make plans for the wedding, telling everyone that cared to listen that they were getting married. They fixed the wedding date and decided to get married in Ekiti state - Bride's parents' home - whoop!

The National Chairman of the new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, has requested all members of PDP worldwide to embark on seven days fasting and prayers commencing from Monday, 16th of September, 2013.

The call for fasting and prayer was contained in a news release signed by the new PDP spokesperson, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka. According the release, “this spiritual intervention is as a result of the concern of the Baraje-led PDP for the plight of parents and our children due to the continued closure of public universities following the strike by ASUU to protest the Federal Government’s failure to keep the agreement it signed with the Union in 2009”.

“Muslims all over the nation and abroad who are PDP members should close their fast by this Friday, 20th of September, 2013, at their places of worship while the Christians should end theirs on Sunday, 22nd September, 2013 at their places of worship.

It has become imperative to seek the face of God over this matter considering that all efforts to resolve this unwarranted strike have failed woefully and considering the socio-economic damage this strike has caused both parents and our children. We are confident that our resolve to go to God will succeed as the importance of fasting and prayers cannot be over emphasized.

To say the least, we are shocked that the government inflicting this monumental hardship on Nigerians is a PDP Government popularly elected by majority of Nigerians and run by a President who was once a University Lecturer. In this regard, we wish to plead with Nigerians for forgiveness on behalf of the PDP Government at the centre, which could have avoided this costly strike. 2013 has so far been wonderful for Nigeria's female artistes and Waje happens to be one of those topping the list, following the success of her first album and her million naira endorsement with Glo. Michael Eromhonsele sacrificed romance for excellence and emerged the best graduating student of Covenant University in Ota, Ogun State at 20.
To achieve this feat, he obtained a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.92, out of a possible 5.0, to beat 1,465 other undergraduates.
He says his first few days in the university campus were uneventful. According to him, he was a bit confused because he was not used to the prayer regime that he had to be part of at the faith-based institution. Spirituality is one of the core values of CU. But as soon as he found his rhythm, there was no looking back for him.
He says he did not allow himself to be distracted by his friends or the opposite sex as he concentrated on his studies.
Listing some of the factors that helped him to achieve that feat, he says, “First, I must acknowledge God’s favour and his assistance. Second, I did not entertain any form of distractions. I did not attend parties, and I did not have any girlfriend or what you may refer to as a lover. I concentrated on my studies.”
What about his study style? Eromhonsele reveals that apart from the serene environment in the school, which is conducive for learning, he loves to read late into the night.

According to him, he started reading from 10.00pm and he won’t stop until 1.00am.
“Those are the hours I found most convenient to read. As soon as I closed my book, I went to bed. I woke up at 7.00am, and got ready for my classes. Lectures start at 8.00am,” he adds.

Wizkid replaced his N15million Porsche Panamera car with a brand new one less than two weeks after crashing it in an accident - he got praises and congratulatory messages from fans but he got criticisms as well.
The music star has responded, he says he works hard and can spend his money any way he wants to.

He tells Encomium magazine:

"I needed to get another one because after the accident, I didn't have a car and I have to move around. I started taking cabs before I decided to buy this new car to move around. It is needed for work. And I don't think there's anything wrong in splashing millions on a car. If someone works hard and decides to spend on something that he thinks is good for him, why not? Like every other year, the Nigerian Entertainment Industry has so far experienced the tides, good times, bad times and most especially remarkable events and moments that we would always remember.
The first major act that shook the industry this year was 2face and Annie Idibia’s big wedding - it was the talk of the season.
Their star-studded wedding celebration began in Eket, Akwa Ibom state on the 8th of March while the wedding proper held in Dubai a few weeks later.
We also had the Nse Ikpe Etim’s quiet wedding to her longtime best friend, Clifford Sule – the beautiful couple had their private wedding ceremony on a Thursday – Valentine’s day and their traditional wedding on the 4th of April, also in Akwa Ibom – white wedding would come before the year end.
Also quitting the single-hood were Nigerian artiste, J Martins, comedian Princess and Comedian Elenu – So many weddings!

We had quite a lot of proposals too – Tiwabillz – Teebillz (Tiwa Savage’s manager) surprisingly proposed to her on her birthday on the 6th of February - aww, such love! Popular saxophonist Yemi Sax also proposed to his woman on the 3rd of April while singer BEZ popped the 'will you marry question to his woman' on the 2nd of May – that was some love story!


Apart from the weddings and proposals, we can “categorically” state that the year has so far being a good one for the artistes in the industry – many of them purchased new cars – Porsches to be precise – the likes of M.I, Wizkid, Don Jazzy, Rapper 2shotz and others.
Several of them also moved to their new homes – Davido, Chika Ike, Dr Sid and Genevieve Nnaji (she moved her parents to a new home).
The music industry also experienced the birth of beautiful albums from Waje (W.A.J.E), Omawumi (lasso of truth), Tiwa Savage (dropped today) and D’banj’s DKM album.
The entertainers also got good deals via brand endorsements - M.I,. Waje, Omawumi, Lynxx, Olamide, Naeto C, BEZ are now brand ambassadors for Glo while Iyanya, Chidinma, Wizkid and Davido are ambassadors for MTN.
Oh, we thank God for the lives of Wizkid and singer Asa who miraculously survived fatal accidents at different times this year! Also worthy of mention is Nollywood's Mercy Johnson who returned back to the country after being delivered of her baby girl, Purity, in the US; Peter and Paul also welcomed baby girls each from their baby mamas early this year.
Naeto C and elDEE had new additions to their families too, we say congrats to them.
Top concerts like the AMVCA, AMMA in Bayelsa, Dbanj’s DKM concert, Iyanya’s Kukere concert, AY Live show, Bovi live show were major events that have shaken the industry so far. The aftermaths of the concerts gave bloggers, local media and forums issues to talk about.
Finally, death hit the industry with Nollywood's Justus Esiri passing on in February; Singer Goldie died on the 14th of February, Chinua Achebe died on the 21st of March, Fatai Rolling Dollar (June) while Chinedu Ikedieze - Aki’s father also passed on in June...may their souls rest in peace.
The first half of (January-June) 2013 has been exciting and there's no doubt that the Nigerian Entertainment industry is soaring higher! Let's keep our fingers crossed and watch out for the great events we are sure would take place in the remaining half. Beating 2face Idibia at the BET Awards going on in Los Angeles, US, Ice Prince won the ‘Best African Act.
For Ice Prince, this is his second time at being nominated for the award in the same category. Last year he lost out to Wizkid and Sarkodie.


Meanwhile, Yvonne Nelson has wished the rapper best of luck, rooting he clinches the award over other heavyweights like Tuface, Toya Delazy and Donald, both of South Africa, R2Bees of Ghana and Radio and Weasel of Uganda.

Dbanj's DKM concert successfully went down at the Eko hotel and suites last night.
Even though the event kicked off a little later than scheduled - due to the football match being played (Nigeria versus Spain) - there were no dull moments.
Even though Wizkid and Wande Coal didnot attend the show, fans were not disappointed as they had more than enough thrilling performances.
One of the high points of the show was Olamide's performance, he got the audience screaming out loud when he took the stage; rapper 2chainz's performance was another hit while Kaffy and her dance crew were simply amazing!

John Kumuyi, the second son of Pastor William Kumuyi, the General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry, took his heartthrob to the altar. The joyful ceremony held Saturday, 15 June at the Deeper Life Bible Church, after the traditional wedding.
John Kumuyi married Miss Love Odih, who is said to be the daughter of the National Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in Jamaica and former State Overseer of the church in Cross River State, Nigeria.

{Mother}- My son must obey me unless he didn't suck my breast for 1yr.
{Wife }- He sucks mine now and sucked it for more than 5yrs and is stil sucking
{Mother}- I carried him for nine months.
{Wife}- He was only 3.5kg den, so what's d big deal? I carry him every night and he is 85kg now. {Mother}- He passed between my legs with pains
