Jossyman0007:Atiku won your state, Akwa Ibom, in 2023. Tinubu is now set to win it in 2027. Yet, you keep gassing Obi up. How many votes were you able to deliver to Obi in Annang local government? |
Whynotthetruth:Only someone totally naïve would claim not to know that Atiku has ambition to be president and would not be stepping down for anyone. Why is Obi afraid of a direct primary? Is he more Southern than Amaechi? Why hasn't Amaechi left the coalition? Obi met the likes of Atiku and Amaechi in the coalition who've been building the platform long before he joined but wants the ticket to be handed to him on a plate. If court cases and litigation are the reason why Obi left the ADC and LP, then he should get ready to leave the NDC because Tinubu will meet him there with more court cases. For how long will he continue to run? This was exactly what Datti Baba-Ahmed and Obi's own Sarah were trying to say. If ALL opposition coalesce under one umbrella, Tinubu would fold on the court cases like we saw with the supreme court verdict because he knows the repercussions and the optics of him using the courts to disqualify the entire opposition. Obi has only made the job easier for him now with his defection from the coalition. It's like the parable of a single broomstick vs the whole bunch.
|
Whynotthetruth:When you said "compromised", what exactly do you mean? Are you also one of those who believes Atiku will dollarise a direct primary across the 36 states by sending dollars into everyone's account. It was in the news and in several televised interviews, the ADC made it clear from the get-go that zoning was not on the table but Obi chose to join anyways.
|
Whynotthetruth:Peter Obi is a threat to everyone for the same reason that a man with a lighter at a fuel station is. He's more like a spoiler to all camps. All analysts long projected that a united opposition will be the surest way to defeat Tinubu. Obi joined on his own accord but left at a critical point to sabotage the coalition. That's his democratic right but pray tell, what different strategy or approach will he be utilising this time? |
jmoore:Truth is bitter and advise no be curse and e no get shame like crazeman. |
jmoore:Enter from where? It's debatable if Obi has gained a single voter since 2023. But he has lost a huge chunk of his base in the Northcentral and Southwest, even in the Southeast. Plus a lot of his supporters have refused to join him in this new journey. Even Gbadebo, Aisha Yesufu, Serah, etc are disillusioned. Whereas, all of the 6.7m Nigerians that voted Atiku in 2023 did so, knowing fully well that it was the "turn of the South" but voted for him anyways. Despite contesting after 8 years of Buhari. It can be argued that if Atiku has lost any voter, it wouldn't be because of zoning. Meanwhile, a huge chunk of the 5.6m votes that Tinubu got in the North have been lost. It's a no-brainer that Atiku will be the biggest beneficiary of this. |
That's a man right there! ADC will be solid in the Southwest, heading into 2027. Meanwhile, another prophecy of Primate Ayodele has to come to pass. ADC will form the next government.
|
bmd1010:Anambra is 11th on the list of registrations in the ADC. How many of the Northerners that kept decamping to ADC despite the INEC fiasco have joined Obi to decamp to NDC? Those members are decamping to benefit off "Nzogbu Nzogbu". They will decamp right back to the ruling party after winning their elections. Obi was important to the coalition but he was more like one leg of a tripod. Alone, he still won't amount to much, which was the reason behind the idea of a "coalition" in the first place.
|
wellmax:Yes. Just like no other Nigerian leader put this much effort towards destroying our democracy, except Sani Abacha. Previous leaders were accused of rigging elections, Tinubu is hell-bent on being the only viable candidate on the ballot. This is the model being adopted by Tallon in Benin Republic. After all political parties are destroyed, who will stop him? All across the states, governors are also handpicking their preferred candidates while Tinubu handpicks the governors. Where is the will of the people in all of these? What is the definition of democracy again? |
Saturnalia:Judging by the efforts he is putting into undermining our democracy, he won't stop at 8 years. The signs are clear, but Paul Biya, Mugabe, Mobuto, etc, also had supporters. |
SmartPolician:And after wrecking the ADC as he has done to PDP, LP and NNPP, what next? Wreck the NDC? What is Tinubu afraid of? Only one category of people are desperate to govern the people against their will. They are called despots. |
After all said and done, posterity will judge Tinubu harshly for this damage he has done to our polity and democracy. |
After all said and done and when the dust is finally settled, posterity will judge the damage Tinubu has done to our polity and democracy. This is cowardice, not master strategy. |
victoryenergy:Have you seen the list of ADC registrations? Anambra is 11th. Why did you think Obi ran away from primaries? Northerners were trooping into the ADC in droves despite INEC derecognising David Mark as Chairman, were they doing so because of Obi?
|
When we told them that Datti has long parted ways with Obi over his lack of assertiveness, they claimed Datti was staying back to be a placeholder for Obi. Banana dey spoil, Obidients talk say e dey ripe. If Peter Obi truly wanted to be president, his best shot was to have deputised Atiku. The North has no qualms returning a favour but nothing goes for nothing. Tinubu was patient after supporting Buhari and the North returned the favour even when the South ganged up against him. Obi prioritised his own personal ambition over the collective interest of his region. Stooping to conquer is a thing in politics. |
Way to go! If the Wike group are in the doubt, they should approach the Supreme Court for interpretation. |
Akpakomiza2:One can argue the same about Tinubu too. Why then does he want to impose himself on Nigerians? |
codedguy1:Is this a statement of fact or a prayer point? It's like you do not know Kwankwaso. Kwankwaso will insist on primaries in the NDC. You will be back to pour invectives on Kwankwaso once that happens. |
Here we go again. Politics of sainthood is not what Nigerians are asking for.
|
Dry your tears, Ayade. That's his stock in trade. As far as Tinubu is concerned, no good deed goes unpunished. |
PDPdestroyer:PDPdestroyer, I saw what you did there.
|
That's all? So what was all the noise about Obi/Kwankwaso about? |
Imposters. The Turaki-led NWC is the only recognised leadership of the PDP!
|
Bentacur007:Seyi's bloc has taken full control of the PDP!
|
There we go again! We are getting feelers that Seyi Makinde is getting set to enter the presidential election race after the recent Supreme Court verdict. Ladies and gentlemen, we now have a four-horse race on our hands. Cc: Seunmsg |
Didi2d:Let them keep burying their head in the sand. Kwankwaso will throw Obi into a ditch the very first chance he gets. Cunny man die, cunny man bury am. Kwankwaso will contest the NDC primaries with Obi and might nominate someone like Gawuna to deputise Obi if Obi beats him to it. We will all learn politics together.
|
LagosOrigin:New meme alert! We will all learn politics together.
|
Is Kwankwaso aware that he is to deputise Obi? The way he pulled this cap away from Obi's hands does not suggest so. Kwankwaso is a contractor for Tinubu. By the time he's through with his assignment, even Obi will have no other choice but to declare for Tinubu's re-election.
|
Tflex01:Lol. Funny chap. Atiku will have the highest number of votes cast in all permutations. It's only his ⅔ spread that is currently in doubt. This automatically means he has qualified for a run-off already, worse case scenario. The run-off will be between the individual with the highest number of votes and the individual with the most spread. |
AkhereOkaka:Southsouth and Southeast was locked for him in 2023 but he still lost. The work to be done is not in the Southsouth and Southeast. It's in the North! Tinubu lost those regions woefully including Lagos but still won because he got 5.6m votes in the North. |
9jatriot:Obi cannot win outside of a coalition. What's the use of support for supporting sake? When you play politics, play to win not just to prove a point. We will all learn politics together.
|
Afonjacoward:So will Obi win the North and also the South? Tell us his pathway. |
