It seems Aregberascal, the Ogbeni himself, is the beloved son of the State of Osun. The People have decided to vote for him because, honestly the man worked. I hope that the state will continue to progress even as it faces challenges from all quaters.

dd25251: @JustCare. I wish that I could have helped you but I have no expertise in date-matching. Sorry.
@amnestylaw1, thanks for your comment. Guyana is yet to catch up with globalisation in terms of education. We're still into chalk and talk. Sorry that I couldn't be of help in that area.
Thanks you Ms Anthony. smiley
TravelRe: Guyana - Telling It As It Is by amnestylaw1(m): 6:31pm On Aug 08, 2014
dd25251: I'm Guyanese born, groomed and breed.
If you are leaving Nigeria or Ghana because you would like to make quick money in Guyana. It's the wrong place to come. Poor Guyanese are going to other countries for the same purpose.
If you would like to start your life all over again, go to school, gain a passport with more international visa privileges than Ghana and Nigeria then Guyana can be a possible destination.
The education is affordable and accepted in many places globally. You should have your own money for your upkeep or have a reliable sponsor to be able to live and study in Guyana.
Guyana has a similar culture to Ghana and Nigeria but is still more Westernised compared to both countries.
Guyanese are generally friendly and hospital so if you treat them right, they will treat you right.
Guyana only has 750,000 people so if anyone start a spree of lies, they will quickly be found out and you will be scorned by all.
Our education institutions are not large because there is no need for it to be large. The size is large enough to suit it's population.
One of the most straight-forward write-up I ever read. Thanks for enlightening us, OP. A question I'd like to ask is whether you have distance learning universities or colleges in Guyana where Guyanese and foreigners can take classes or complete program online?
IslamRe: Saudi Arabia Suspends Hajj Visas For Ebola Hit Countries by amnestylaw1(m): 4:53pm On Aug 08, 2014
maclatunji: Islam is a practical religion. Its injunctions exist for the welfare of human beings as a whole. There is a teaching regarding epidemics in Islam:

Narrated Saud:

The Prophet (SAW) said, "If you hear of an outbreak of plague in a land, do not enter it; but if the plague breaks out in a place while you are in it, do not leave that place."

Source: Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 71, Number 624:
Wao, this is common sense. I hope other teachers will help teach the people values like this rather than asking them to go face the epidemic by faith.

PoliticsRe: Those Who Live Abroad Are Very Rich by amnestylaw1(m):
Thank you OP for this post. I am married to a white woman and we have a cute boy who is now almost two years old. When we met, most of my Naija friends were advising me to (as you put it above) "no fall their hand." Maybe I am not as smart as them, maybe I am just being too honest, I fell their hand and stuck to my woman not because of money, but because we love each other madly. You see, every now and then, I get messages from folks in Naija asking me to parcel euro to them as if I don't have a family that understands the function of euros. Even here in Bratislava, there are few whites who think blacks "hunt" for their girls just to get residence permits.

Last week or so, while walking my dog, I met one of my friends- an old woman who smokes like hell. In our usual 3 to 5 minutes conversation in Slovak language, she asked me whether I have a wife in Nigeria. She was a bit reluctant to believe that I have just only the Slovak woman for a wife. She concluded by saying, "anyway, many men from your country have wives at home and they come here and other parts of Europe to marry our women just to get their stay legalised. Sometimes, the European wife never finds out until after divorce or when the man runs away after getting what he wants, other times."

And yes, you are correct that most of our people think that whites are better than us. My experience so far has taught me that Nigerians are richer than most whites and even the rich whites (of course not the super rich) don't spend money the way we do. I have seen so many blacks (Nigerians especially) who don't have correct papers to reside here, work and spend all what they make at Nightclubs. You see them live larger than life even when they couldn't afford it. These send the wrong message about us to others. Pictures from such people, when they get home to Nigeria, make those at home abroad-sick and want to come experience the "heaven on earth" here.

The easiest way is to flip the positions of 4 and 5 on the number line. Another method is to use LSD (Least Sequential Denominators).

Yeah, no big deal there, either: Insert your credit card into the CD-ROM drive and tell your computer--slowly and distinctly--that you need the Air Mouse 3000 upgrade. You'll be good in no time.

Oh, that's normal. Your system is just waiting for you to pay the required $1 processing fee for scanning the card. Simply fold a greenback into a tiny square and insert it into any USB port.

I stumbled across these sets of questions that people ask- I mean dumb questions that people ask. Some of these questions are not as funny as the answers given.

But honestly, are there people like these? I know there are so many smart people out there as well as not so much smart people, however, going through some of these questions make one wonder what kind of people ask them. Of course some of the questions makes one to think deeply.
In all, I find them funny and want to share them with you all. smiley

Nairaland GeneralRe: What The Bible Has To Say About Ebola Virus & Its Solution by amnestylaw1(m): 9:12am On Aug 07, 2014
I didn't bother to read the above article since the poster above me seem to suggest that the writer tilts towards getting divine intervention. Anyway, me thinks that the ebola virus is nature's ways to trim the population. As we have heard, some have the genes to withstand the immunity-destroying effect of the virus while others don't. This suggests that this is another mechanism by which our evolution continues- only the fittest survives...
