Culture › Re: Artificial Rain Making: How Is It Done? by amokeme(f): 7:57pm On Oct 10, 2015 |
musicwriter: All I can say is I remember when I was young about 12 growing up in the village, and there was this feared traditionalist who was reputed to hold or release the rain.
There came a particular year, getting into March of that year there was no single rain. The land and forests were dried up and farmers were crying for rain. The villagers decided to meet. I think the meeting was whether it was worth it seeing the rainmaker, since some people no longer believed him, due to culture depletion. I think I was hearing something like "he wasn't as competent as his late father" or something like that. I heard he used to be believed so much in the past and due to unbelieve and lack of care by the villagers he fell out of love with them, and seized the rain for that year.
Well, long story short, after a meeting the villagers contributed foodstuffs and little money, then met the man and begged him to release the rain. Everybody was waiting for the rain. That night there was a lot of thunder and signs of rain, but no real rain. Two days later the rain fall and it was a heavy rain, it was such a heavy rain that one little boy from the negbouring village was swept by the torrents and was never seen alive again. The older men and women and extreme traditionalists went back to the man to tell him it was enough. I do not forget things, so what I'm narrating here seems it happened yesterday.
This's just one of those things science can't explain. Could our forefathers been practising advanced science?. pseudo science |

AishyWemsy: Most of them are from rich families first of all. Though it doesn't stop youth from lower class to try and break records. Still requires zeal, connection and solid capital I just knew someone was going to write this. How sure are you? Do you know their backgrounds?? EMTEEswag: I don't really understand "against all odds" here , what odds exactly? These are kids from elite families that have it all money education, connections .... Just name it... It's a good thing they are excelling and doing something for themselves, but with or without their establishments they are still far up there. |

FriedPlantain: Since 2007, I have been writing and failing WAEC, against all odds, I was able to pass it two years ago. Last year, I attempted JAMB and failed it, scoring as low as 25 / 400 in total. By then (as at last year), my younger brother Kabiru had already completed his 4 years at Uniport and was seriously prepping for service. Feeling highly determined and motivate, I sat for JAMB again this year and scored 17 marks in total. But byb the grace of Almighty God, I was still granted admission into a good school in this country.
I'm currently at 'ChopNdie Vulvanizer group of schools', where I would be spending the next two years learning about vulcanizing.
i was actually feeling sorry for you initially, untill i checked the Monikar |
