johnydon22:When Europeans arrived in what is now known as Jamestown colony they engaged in cannibalism of themselves. The British royalty who colonized us eat human flesh but preach Christianity and Europeans have a history of cannibalism. You are a slave. |
Yes it is true, and I've participated in such a number of times. The dog is for Ogun. The Europeans offer dogs to Ares who is a son of Zeus and Hera and the opposite of Ogun. |
Angelique Kidjo is Omo Oodua, but is she Yoruba? Should she and others from her group be excluded because of the pseudo-borders set up by the oyinbo to divide us? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_VjmiPDZmU |

EdCure:Any references that I can look up? |
tobimillar: Krystalxxx:The above are, in my opinion, the best comments on this thread while most or all of the others seem well short of critical awareness/mindfulness. We don't yet know her background, like if she was raped or the father denied the pregnancy or if she was sexually abused when younger or if her child had been reported for same more than once or if any of her female relatives and or friends had been sexually abused. It could also be a combination of any of these. I think she should not be jailed but see a shrink. |
Pls what's the name of the fabric worn by the groom? |
SonOfDavid91:Only an omo ale would deny his parentage! In Revelations 2 it is mentioned that the devil's throne was in Pergamos which is in modern Turkey. That throne is an altar to Zeus which still exists and is kept in a museum in Germany. Oyinbo people came here and told us to see Eshu as the devil, but they did not know that Eshu has a house in Ijelu-Ekiti which still stands. Is it that the devil comes to Ekiti for winter holidays and built a house there for that purpose? It is a well acknowledged fact that blacks were sacrificed to Zeus. Also, many blacks were taken in actual bondage (chains on their necks, legs and arms) across the atlantic ocean and sahara desert to serve as slaves for the oyinbo people. Isn't this bondage devilish? I guess the following are your examples of "the True & divinely religion!": https://www.nairaland.com/2461206/husband-general-overseer-sleeps-prayer https://www.nairaland.com/2458299/pastor-abuses-impregnates-abandons-woman https://www.nairaland.com/2463024/south-african-preacher-fed-congregation bondage |
SonOfDavid91:The traditional definition of Ifa, ever before the arrival of christian and european missionaries, traders and explorers is: "Ina ni oro enu Olodumare" i.e. Ifa is the word that proceeds from the mouth of Olodumare. Somehow, strangers came amongst us and were able to make many of our people forget this. Ifa is known in various parts of West Africa. For instance, among the Igbo, Ifa is called Afa. |
The Ogu/Egun are not Yoruba. Have you sought their opinion? Or do you include them by force? Oduduwa has more than one wife, and they all bore him children. (1) Eni-bi-eni (2) Olokun Seniade (3) Osara (4) Omitoto-Ose in whose memory Odun Ose is celebrated (5) The mother of Aremitan whose nicknames was Ohun and Olofin; he is the first king of Idanre and had 2 elder siblings nicknamed Ashe and Epe who were killed before he was born. These five I am aware of but don't yet know if there are others and if (4) is the same person as (5). Also, (1) gave birth to 8 sets of twins, that is, 16 children. Can you prove that Oduduwa had only 7 grandchildren? One of the wives of the current ICIR president is Ewe from Togo and she knows she's omo Oodua. Is Ewe the same as Yoruba? Is she lying? Is your dream of an autonomous Omo Oodua nation based on the pseudo-borders of the oyinbo colonialists, or is it based on the pre-colonialization borders? Shouldn't we attempt to find out where our borders were prior to the oyinbo and Fulani jihads? |
I have friends from Togo and Ghana that know they are Omo Oodua and they live with us. They remember their origin as Ile-Ife and that they emigrated therefrom due to aggression fro Oyo. They also have Ifa priests and go on pilgrimages to sacred sites in places like Ile-Ife and Ekiti for our traditional festivals - I can provide video evidence of their active Ifa priesthood. Are they not of the same family with us? Can you prove that they are not Omo Oodua? Can you prove that they are not one with us? Can you provide any reason why we all should not be under the same umbrella? Can you prove that what they say is "divisive bullsh!t" and "nonsense"? Can you prove that you are not being divisive by excluding them? |
The people of Idanre are Omo Oodua; their ancestor was a direct son of Oodua, buut Oyo has succeeded in her version of our history in getting lots of people to forget this. The Idanre people still call themselves Omo Oodua, and this son of Oodua was nicknamed Olofin and took with him when leaving Ile-fe Oodua's royal paraphernalia including his crown which both Benin and Oyo have tried stealing but failed. If we are to move forward smoothly we need to know clearly where we are coming from, including our collective and individual nomenclatures so we won't repeat mistakes but rather better value our bonds. This is not an attempt to "to plant seed of disunity among the yoruba people", which is a false accusation. I am from Remo, and you have not proven that I am Yoruba. To insist on calling me Yoruba is akin to the oyinbo slave masters imposing strange names on their slaves. |
Yoruba is not Omo Oodua and Omo Oodua is not Yoruba. Else, prove that the Ketu, Popo, Sabe/Save, Ga, Ulukumi, Gbe, Mina, Ewe, Itsekiri, etc. families who are Omo Oodua are also Yoruba. Before colonialism only Oyo was referred to as Yoruba, and when colonialism is over the name Yoruba will not be forced down the throats of others. Oyo/Yoruba caused a lot of problems in a vain attempt to be seen as the one in charge, and the colonialists took advantage of the crisis to divide and rule the Omo Oodua. Oduduwa is the ancestor of the Yoruba, but others who are non-Yorubas have Oduduwa as their ancestor as well. How is this nonsense when it is a well-acknowledged fact? |

A native doctor is just like a medical doctor while a traditional priest is like a cleric of imported faiths (e.g. christian, muslim, jewish, hindu, etc.). It is better to first carry out your own research because you don't know if the info I provide is biased or not, and the colonialists spread a lot of lies. |
Keziehenry, how about you attempt to first carry out your own research first about the two. In english bibles, Ifa is spelled as Ephod. |
I am an Ifa priest, and have responded. |
OP, please note that a herbalist (native doctor) is not an Ifa priest. Has she contacted an Ifa priest to inquire from God about her situation? |
How is what I wrote nonsense? Your bad character as indicated in the nature of your reaction to opinions that differ from yours is the reason I've avoided any discussion with you on this forum. |

The names are preserved in the Ifa literary corpus and are still born by Ifa devotees. |

A herbalist is different from a babalawo (Ifa priest/consultant). Hamzat is not a babalawo. |
We are all created to exist communally, thus we see solar systems clustering together as galaxies, planets clustering together as solar systems, the irunmoles clustering together with their kind, mankind clustering together with their kind, different plants clustering together with their kind, same also for animals, and so on. The Yoruba word for such groups/societies is egbe. Since it is a fact of existence, then it cannot be bad even though the opposite is preached in a number of Nigerian churches. Before coming to earth we lived in orun (heaven) and when our sojourn on earth is over we return to orun, although it must be noted that not all who look like humans are from orun as they instead come from aja-ile (the underworld). While in heaven, a man or woman might have gotten married and then come to earth via birth. Since one day in heaven is like 15 days on earth, the period that the heavenly partner waits for the return of the one who went to earth is not much. Whenever the heavenly partner wants to have some 'fun' with the earthly one, it would be noticed here in the form of wet dreams (some of these dreams are however perpetrated by witches). If the earthly partner is a woman, she might even dream of attending naming ceremonies and taking care of children who are in fact the children she has been bearing for the heavenly partner. Thus, apart from the wet dreams, she might having difficulty conceiving here on earth. She might also be lactating here even though without any child here. Another symptom is difficulty in getting into and maintaining relationships and getting married. There is a ceremony that is done to separate one from his/her spiritual mate, and it is an egbe ceremony. The ceremony ends when the client is given a bundle of materials wrapped in white cloth which s/he takes into a bush/forest to give to the spiritual mate who will suddenly appear, take it and return to orun, following which the client leaves the bush/forest without looking back. If the client does not have the heart to go into the forest with that package of separation, it can be buried in the ground where the initial part of the ceremony took place. The things we do on earth we've been doing in heaven, only that heaven is a well-organized place. The separation ceremony works. There's also a ceremony to separate one from bad egbe (bad association/gangs) which I've done for someone whose antagonists were using Christianity to confuse his mind. The church he was descended into confusion. The spirit husband/wife are not unclean spirits or evil. Rather, some women who are into witchcraft can steal someone's blessings using wet dreams and they appear in dreams disguised as masquerades or as someone else. With Ifa, I can always find out whether a dream about copulation is from the heavenly mate, witches or is ordinary, and then take further action if and when necessary rather than engaging in inconclusive speculations. |
I can try to give you the answers you seek, but from the teaching of Ifa, which is probably the same with that of most peoples in this region before the invasion of the whites. Do you mind if I go ahead? |

When such incidents are reported int he news, the perpetrators are usually described as herbalists whereas they are actually alfas. |
Ashe. But do you have any disagreement with any part of it? |
My response to Metaphysics’ 1. What is birth, what is death Birth is the transition we humans make when coming from our home (do all of us come from orun?) to this part of the physical plane of existence called earth. Death is the transition in the opposite direction, when returning to our home from earth. 2. What does it mean to be reincarnated? This depends on the location, I think. To those on physical earth, they reincarnation is the return of an individual via birth to this physical plane of existence while to those in heaven like one's egbe, it might be the return to the spiritual plane of existence. According to this verse from Oyeku’ṣe (from the book “Odun Ifa” by Dr Emmanuel Abosede), the promise of reincarnation eases the grief of death and is worth looking forward to. Ka ma tete ku A wo ele alayọ; Aitete ku iṣe Awoibanuje; Biku ba de ka yin Oluwa logo Awo olootọ Awọn agbaagba meta lo difa iku wo lọdọ Ọrunmila wọn ni: Ee se ti iku fi I pani? Ọrunmila ni: Ire ni Amuniwaye fi iku ṣe Omi ti ko ṣan siwa, ti ko ṣan sehin A a di omi ọgọdọ Ọgọdọ omi ibajẹ, Omi ẹgbin Omi ngbe wọn lọ rere, Omi ngbe wọn bọ, rere Olokunrun ka a re’le lo gbawo tuntun bọ wa’ye Translation: “If we die after a long happy life we achieve glory; but if we live too long and die in poverty, neglect and disgrace we achieve nothing but sorrow. We should accept death when it comes and give thanks to God for life well lived.” Pondering these sayings three sages consulted Ọrunmila and asked why man should suffer death at all. Ọrunmila replied: The creator has bestowed death to man as a blessing. Life is a stream that flows out and flows back. When it flows out men call it death, When it flows back they call it Rebirth. If the stream does not flow out and flow back It becomes a cesspool stagnant with shameful impurities. Without death there can be no Rebirth. And Rebirth is the invalid that travels out only to return home with newfound health. – Oyeku’ṣe 3. What is the nature of Irunmale/Irunmole? I’m still trying to grasp it. I have a copy of a paper “A Ya Gbo, A Ya To: New Perspectives on Edan Ogboni” by Babatunde Lawal in 1995 who noted therein (page 43( ) that some scholars have suggested that “irunmole” means “400 divinities” and that the translation of (i)mole or imale was still uncertain. He cited “Eni orun to wa mo ile aye” (heavenly beings on earth) as one etymology of “irunmole proposed by Aina Adewale-Abayomi, and “the knowledge of the secrets of this world” as a translation of mole/imale by Onadele Epega.4. What is the nature of Orisha? Those among our ancestors who lived distinguished lives and were elevated to the status of or recognized as orishas. Here is an interesting quote (although it appears unconventional) from a verse of Eji Ogbe in the book “Odun Ifa” which supports this view: Ọrunmila says: It is human beings we deify as Orisha I reply: True indeed it is my Lord, Agbọniregun, Oriṣa are deified human beings. Ọrunmila says: Oriṣa-Ala, you must know, was once a human being himself. When he brought blessings to the world men began to worship him as god. Even to this day men revere his memory and supplicate the Omnipotent in his name. Ogun was once a human being. Ṣango was once a human being. And so those who attain wisdom on earth, They are those indeed whom we worship as gods. The Oriṣa are deified human beings 5. Can mankind come as Oriṣa or not? I want to believe that mankind cannot come as Oriṣa but can live up to the standards set by the oriṣas. 6. Can mankind become Irunmole or not? I want to believe that mankind cannot become Irunmoles, but I don’t know what would be the nature of those who would progress to the next stage of creation which is the 5th (for instance, whether they would still be referred to as ènìyàn). 7. Can Oriṣa become Irunmole or not? I want to believe that Orishas can become Irunmole, based on my assumption that the Irunmoles are the ones who come as Oriṣas. In the excerpt from a verse of Iwori Wodi that I came across sometime ago is a line “There is no woman who cannot give birth to Orunmila himself” which implies that the Irunmole known as Orunmila can come to this world as a human, born of a woman. If this line is meant to be taken literally, it would further imply that he would be an oriṣa in that time. There is no pregnant woman who cannot give birth to a babalawo There is no woman who cannot give birth to Orunmila himself If a father begets a child However long it might take, The child can also give birth to the father If a mother gives birth to a child, She can still be reborn by that same child This was Ifa’s teaching to Orunmila who said, I shall bring heaven to earth And earth to heaven This would explain why Obalufon and Moremi had a son known as Ela who was able to ascend into heaven instead of transiting as is known of various Orishas. Now to the question of who is mankind. Since Oduduwa is Ènìyàn, his offspring who are humans are ọmọ ènìyàn, and more humans were created based on the model of the ọmọ ènìyàn who were created based on the model of Ninibinini, all humans are supposed to be ọmọ ènìyàn, but we know that some Eníyán survived the flood and live with us till this day and they are likely the ones mentioned in Greek history (e.g. Zeus) as abducting some oyinbo women who bore offspring for them. We should note that the Macedonians believed that their rulers (e.g. Alexander the great) were incarnates of their gods just as the ọmọ Oodua believe that their rulers/Oriṣas are their gods. It is not for nothing that the oyinbo colonizing rulers after Alexander like the Seleucids, Greeks, Romans, etc., bore titles like “Soter” (savior e.g. Attalus I Soter, Ptolemy I Soter, Ptolemy IX Soter II), Epiphanes (god manifest e.g. Ptolemy V Epiphanes, Antiochos IV Epiphanes), Theos (god e.g. Antiochus II Theos, Ptolemy XIII Theos Philopator, Ptolemy XIV Theos Philopator II). Such oyinbo believe strongly in it till date as seen in the preservation of certain royal bloodlines. Therefore, I want to believe that mankind today consists of two groups: I. Ọmọ Enìyàn which consists of the oriṣas (human incarnates of Irunmales) and other humans II. Ọmọ Eníyán which consists of human incarnates of angels (their gods) and their own people among humans |
FOLYKAZE, it is actually possible to present your argument effectively without resorting to vitriol. I did not copy the content of any site in my posts on this thread. I never denied that in the beginning of the first creation water covered the earth. If you don't know, the flood was used to end the first creation, and just like in the beginning of the first creation, the second creation started with water covering the surface of the earth. Orishas did not meet water on the earth at the beginning of the first creation when coming from heaven, rather the irunmoles did. I never mentioned that Olodumare created females while Obatala created males, never. What I did mention is that the first human created after the flood was a woman called Eni-bi-eni aka Ninibinini and Olodumare created her. I never mentioned that Eni-bi-eni refers to females. Finally, there are 200 irunmole to the left, 200 irunmole to the right, and 400 + 1 that shuttle between heaven and earth of which Obatala (aka Orishan'la) is the undisputed leader, not Olorun.. It seems you so much hate my guts that you let that hatred cloud your thinking and make you blind to your hypocrisy. macof, he who knows not that he knows not is a .... Look inwards first before trying to condemn me. You have a 'history" on this forum. |
