Water is the best medicine (fluids generally). 3. The baby should not be exposed to mosquito. Use mosquito net. 4. Try to avoid stress and give the baby all your attention. Thank you so much sir. i will read this to her. |

sapientia1: Please, do not panic, I am not a medical practitioner but I am very close to someone who's SC. Your child would most likely have some crises, most especially pain in the bones whenever she's exposed to cold n other illness. You should take care of her very well. while she's young and make sure she's particularly not exposed to cold.
Once she's past that infantry/pre-teen ages, she's good to go. They hardly fall sick as adults and they live a normal life. Although whenever she falls sick, she'd experience pains. muscle, joints... those kinda let pain that's severe, but I'm sure she'd have been familiar with drugs that can easily suppress the pain in hours. Please tell your wife to cheer up, SC is not as dreadful as you think. She might have issues when she's pregnant too, but then, who doesn't?! like I said, drugs and proper care/hygeine is what matters. Thank you sir. Thank you for taking your time to respond to my cry and i will talk to madam to relax. We will do our best. |

Hollyb: Yes, I know of someone living with SC. I wouldn't say its not serious cos maybe she just got lucky, told me she has never had any serious crisis. the only thing is to be careful with her. Don't expose her to cold. This said lady is stronger than I am sef and very agile. So I guess SC is not as serious as Ss We will try our best in giving her the necessary protection. Thank you so much for the encouraging words. |

Please, how serious or dangerous is this type of sickle cell anemia? I married my wife November last year and it honestly escaped us to go for those tests. So immediately after the wedding it occurred to me and we went for the tests. I was confirmed to be AC while my wife tested AS.
I got alarmed and very concerned and i told my wife about my fears but we decided to keep it low key and pray about it and hope that we at least a child who will be negative and we stop there since we had one in four chances of having a child who will inherit the positive genes from us. So we prayed about it and a year later we have our daughter. But because of our issue we wanted to clear our mind so this week while we went for weighing i requested that they check her Genotype so that we will know our stances and low and behold it came out SC positive.
We are devastated. we learnt it is not as serious as the SS but we have lost appetite for everything. My wife has been crying for the past two days. Please, do you know anyone living with this type of anemia and how are they faring?

Take that girl back to her mum, grannie has failed and I don't blame her. She should be enjoying old age in peace and not meant to keep tabs on a teen. I doubt if the mother can handle because she is those soft and emotional ladies. She their last with her and I see how she struggles to control him whenever I visit. Hybridz: I would advice you first of all change her location. Get her really busy and above all,always have heart-hheart talk with her on regular basis.
You can also take her around to see how those that engaged in those things early have ended up.
Finally,if you think her libido is just too her,get her married asap and let her continue with her education there,that way,she can minimise the fornication.
PS:Don't forget to back all these up with fervent prayers.all the best. Yeah, thank you a lot. |

donstan18: She's almost an adult, and if we must be honest and truthful, you know how weird and sexually exposed a boy or girl of 17 can be these days, I think it'll be difficult to stop her so long as she's still staying with her grandmother, but it's not impossible to STOP REDUCE her sexual drives.
If her lifestyles really bothers you, then you'v got to make a sacrifice, what sacrifice?
Get your grandmother a helper and take her along with you for a proper watch and discipline, if you seems to be a busy type that doesn't stay at home that much, then you can register her in any girls boarding school.
NOTE: Do well to know that any of all these doings won't STOP her from knowing a man, it can only REDUCE her sexual mindset.
And Biko!.. Don't allow her seduce you oo Thank you so much for your advice and I promise you she can never seduce me lol. |

crackhaus: If at 17, she already has a stockpile of birth control pills at her disposal, my inference from this is she's not a rookie anymore and also an ardent fan of unprotected sex.
I don't think you can make her stop to be honest, once they start at that age they don't stop, not with all those adolescent hormones raging. The best you can do is advise her to keep to just one sexual partner and replace her collection of birth control pills with a collection of condoms. Pregnancy isn't the only outcome she should be worried about from having unprotected sex.
Where is her mother and why isn't she living with her?
Statistics have proven that children who are under the guardianship of a grandmother become more socially exposed to negative vices than those living with biological parents. I haven't seen a mother or father who will take kindly to their 17year old daughter returning home late. Thank you so much for your input. The grandmother insisted she stay with her so she could help her. When we disagreed she sounded like we wanted to deprive her of her grand child. |

Please I need advice on this urgently
I have a niece who I love so much. She stays with her grandmother (her father has passed) and the woman has been complaining that she is misbehaving and sometimes goes out and return late. Mind you she is just 17, I have been intervening and trying to talk to her and she seems to listen to me. But there was a time a paid them a surprise visit (we are about 10 hrs apart ) and this girl went out without even telling me or the grandmother and I had to give her two slaps in the morning, because I was so pissed off for the utter disregard to my presence and what I have been telling her, but I later apologised to her and spoke to her to stop what she is doing. That was in December.
Yesterday again work brought me to their region and I decided to lodge with them. She has gone to school while the the grandmother went to the market. So I am alone in the house. I don't know what pushed me but I looked beside her bed and I found packs of pregnancy prevention pills.
I am so disheartened and confused at the same time. I don't know how to approach her because I am not sure beating her will yield positive results but I am so angry and disappointed in her. Because honestly, I sometimes think the old lady exaggerates her doings because the looks so innocent.
I need advice from experienced people in the house.
Modes please push this to front page for me. Thank you. |

CodedExtra: And the LIES get bigger – Mohammed was the greatest man who ever lived
In what can be described only as breathtaking, Mohammed is described in the Quran as the best man who has lived and an example that every Muslim should emulate.
“Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the Praise of Allah”. [Sura 33:21 ]
If you examine the life of Mohammed from the many texts available, you can only deduce:
1. He was a warlord who acquired booty, women and power through endless campaigns against neighbouring villages;
2. He personally took part in beheading Jews;
3. He tortured Kinana, the leader of the Khaybar Jews for treasure, then had him beheaded;
4. He then raped Kinana’s young wife Safiyya that same night and passed women around as booty;
5. He treated captives as slaves and people of the book as second class citizens;
6. He had a poetess murdered because he did not like her poetry;
7. He maintained women are deficient in intelligence and are the property of a man;
8. He stoned women to death for adultery, even though Jesus had banned the practice;
9. He married a six year old girl named Aisha and consummated the union when she was only nine years old. This has consigned a similar fate to millions of young Muslim girls ever since;
10. He encouraged his followers to handle young girls which today is considered paedophilia;
11. He gouged out men’s eyes, cut of hands and feet as punishment for minor offences;
12. He enshrined slavery in Islam and over 100 million in Africa alone were victims of Islamic slavery.
13. He condoned four wives for men and unlimited concubines;
14. He allowed a man to divorce his wife in a trivial manner;
15. His teachings have led to a rape epidemic in western countries as Muslim men receive no penalty under Sharia law for raping an unbelieving woman;
16. He taught his followers to break the Ten Commandments of Moses even though he acknowledged Moses as a prophet.
Mohammed could well be the worst example of mankind ever. It is a waste of time responding to you because of your utmost insincerity. you lied that you are Muslim just to have access to this post and derail it. It is clear you do not know what you have copied elsewhere and pasted here, because if you do, you would have been shy to do that. Do yourself a favor and do a personal research on who the person Muhammad was and what Islam stands for and you will understand why i am saying you do not know what you have copied. What you've said above are lies that only an ignorant fellow who have not read anything on the greatest Prophet and the religion of peace will fetch and peddled around. So my brother get yourself some education and come back for clarifications on issues you might not fully understand. Because can't engage you in any discussion/debate because you would have to be going to Google to fetch more lies to expose your ignorance. |

Nairaland General › Buhari And Osinbajo by Amoshie(op): 5:21pm On Aug 24, 2016 |
Nigerians are indeed very funny people. Especially my Kano people. On Sunday night, I was sitting with a guy who sell tea near my house before call for prayers. An elderly man came and said, "bani hadin Buhari - Give me Buhari's mixture" and without saying anything, the guy gave him tea and small bread and collected 50 Naira and gave 10 naira change. Nothing more said. I was baffled so I asked what that meant and the tea guy said hadin Buhari mean tea without milk plus small bread. Again this morning, a friend came to visit me. I saw him off to his car and on my way back, I remembered I needed battery for my wireless mouse and stopped by a guy running a small kiosk nearby to get one. Just while I was walking away, a guy I met there said, "bani Buhari de Osinbajo - give me Buhari and Osinbajo". I immediately paused to see what he meant and again, without uttering a word, he gave him garri and groundnut. I returned back to ask again what that meant and he said Garri is Buhari, Osinbajo is groundnut while Bukola is sugar. Kano will always make a comedy out of every circumstance. So, this evening, I feel like having Buhari, Osinbajo and Bukola.
