Hello Guys,

I'm back after a long time off. Applying for a study permit just got realer.

So, this is the scenario: My dad won't be able to sponsor me. We don't just have that amount of money. He's a businessman and has been able to raise my tuition deposit which is my full first semester fee but that's all. If I should get his BS before paying the fees, how will I get the remaining part of the 30,00 Cad. And if I'm to use his account as sponsor, is it not required that he should have way over the 30.00 cad to show that he can support my education, continue his business and not go broke? If that is the case, even borrowing to complete it won't just cut it.

I have also taught about getting the money to his account (probably borrow to complete it) and then transferring it to mine since I'm over 18. That way I'll get the receipt of the transfer, get an affidavit of deed of gift for the transaction that he gifted it to me to finance my education and then attach his land documents for assets to boost my financial stand. Since this way, I'll just need the exact 30,000 cad as I don't have a business to fund back home or other responsibilities. I seriously don't know if this will work.

Also, I saw on Canada Immigration website that PoF can be education loans. I'm wondering if there are any known lenders that offer education loan in Nigeria as I'm believing that that might also serve as home ties since you'll need to pay off the loan back home.

Second to last, I heard that you can source for organisations to sponsor your education which can be used as PoF. Please can anyone name such organisations. I'm in desperate need of them as time is running out. My admission is for Fall 2021 and I'm yet to apply for study permit.

Finally, I have an admission for Bsc. I applied with my Waec which is currently 5 years old. Do I need to explain to the VO the gap in education and what I have been doing in those 5 years which is currently schooling the same course I was offered admission but just in 300L out of 5. If yes, will I need to attach the transcript of the two years completed? If No, hope the gap won't affect my application eventually. (The Truth is that I don't just have money, time and stress to start demanding for just 2 years transcript from my school. Una know how 9ja wahala be especially Federal school)

Please oooo, I want to ask... When someone receives medical request does it mean his/her visa will surely be approved?

Hello everyone.. who knows about University of Maastricht and the city? Is the environment a safe one? I will be applying to the school soon. Though, I have applied to Canada, I want to apply to another country in case the Canadian student visa doesn't get approved.

I don't have University of Regina admission requirements..it requires WAEC and I'm using NECO. @ frankrobbn1

However, my professional advice for you is to seek admission at University of Regina than an undergraduate diploma at College of the North Atlantic, Newfoundland and Labrador. My reason being that your chances of approval success is very slim with the aforementioned College. I want to believe its because the school is cheap, hence you selected it as your preferred option. On the other hand, I'm giving you my own personal advice to ignore applying for your visa with the school. When you've successfully gained admission for a direct program at University of Regina, come back here for assistance and I'll gladly put you in the right direction.

I can't apply to another school now. I'm not the one paying for the application fee. Initially,I was asked to make a choice and I chose CNA. Going back now, will make me look like am not serious and my sponsor won't even pay for the application fee.But,is there anyway the university can waive the application fee for me? Another thing; I want a school that offer an Agricultural course so that I won't be explaining why I'm changing course in my SOP. thanks

Hello, Everyone. Greetings Frankrobbn1 and every other person here. This is my first post here. I just joined Nairaland today ooo lol. I'm here to find more information on how to go about studying in Canada. The whole stuff is really giving me headache already but I shall not relent. I have applied for an undergraduate diploma at College of the North Atlantic, Newfoundland and Labrador(Sept Fall intake). Waiting for my LoA. I used my NECO result since I'm not through with my ND(National Diploma), supposed to finish Nov. last year(2020) but covid-19 spoilt everything.will be rounding up before May this year (2021). Well, I'm trying to gather every document for online visa application before my LoA will come.
My problem now is how to show proof of ties. I don't have a job, kids, spouse, or business or even properties...... I need directions and guidance for this Canada study process...... Frankrobbn1, please I need your contact. I'm all alone on this journey and wouldn't want to miss this opportunity.

Treasury bill investment account is not an eligible POF for study permit application. I will advice you use the regular bank statement which will demonstrate your financial strength to cover for the proposed studies in Canada.
