CallmeGideon:I will not be surprised if he is not from that well known criminal ethnic group. Their population may reach a million in Kano but they will foolishly kill any Kano man visiting their tiny erosion ridden enclave. |
Justice for Kanu is life imprisonment. And that is the mildest for treasonable felony and being an accomplice to multiple murders and other criminal offenses committed by Kanu. |
Igbos jittery and in panic mood as Biafra is becoming a reality. Please go, Nigerians are tired of your gimmicks. Get your dot in a circle Biafra. At least our onions will be safe, to say the least. |
nzeobi:National Assembly are not serious. Court action is right. Please let the Igbos go. We are tired. |
DuBLINGreenb:Exactly what is happening in the SE now. Replicating Boko Haram Nnamdi Kanu is Muhammad Yusuf. Shekau is giving the orders to ESN to kill everyone, especially Igbos in the SE. |
1. First, I want to identify myself, to give an indication of where my position is coming from. I am of Igbo ethnic group. I experienced the Civil War first-hand. The first shot of the war in present-day SouthEast was fired in Alo-Uno, a border village in Nsukka part of present-day Enugu State. I was there at the time. Some hours before that, the first batch of Federal troops had entered the the then Eastern Region in Gakem, a border village in present-day Cross River State. 2. I was a senior primary school pupil of Alo-Uno primary school when the war started. I remember what the experience was like, including our evacuation to Enugu town and further to my village in Anambra State. And the rest of the war to the end. In the post-war secondary-school years and after, I developed keen interest in the study of wars, starting from the Civil War. I later joined the Nigerian Army as an officer-cadet. 3. During my service years, I retained a consuming interest in military history and conflict studies across the world, with closer interest in African conflict spots : Morroccan war with Western Sahara; Arab--Israeli wars; Algerian years of fundamentalist bloodbath; the Tanzanian-supported guarrilla war that chased away President Idi Amin of Uganda; Ethiopian--Eritrean conflict; Somalia; the long Congo war (s); Liberian and Sierra Leone civil wars; Angolan war with Jonas Savimbi's rebel army; the anti-Apartheid long war with its extended dimensions to the wars in Angola, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Namibia. 4. Many years ago, I had argued that there is a major difference between the SouthWest (Yoruba) and the SouthEast (Igbo), when it comes to thinking about going to war. In about the past three centuries, before the Twentieth Century, the Yoruba ethnic group which cuts across about 4 countries of present-day West Africa (majority of them in Nigeria) had fought several serious wars, some of which were very devastating and protracted on-and-off conflicts. They ran a vast empire that cut across about three nations of the present-day West Africa, with headquarters in present-day SouthWest Nigeria. Their racial memory has a better understanding of what war is. Dissent and dissidents abound, but they remain an ineffective minority with loud voices that can dish out insults and abuses. 5. On the other hand, the Igbo had hardly had any experience of serious war, other than inter-village communual conflicts. They are traditionally of republican administrative structure, and personal enterprises in trade and commerce. I first made this argument in a discussion with fellow Igbos as to whether Awolowo betrayed the Igbos by not declaring secession of Western Region from Nigeria, after Ojukwu did so for Eastern Region in 1967. 6. In Igbo land in the late 1960s, it was relatively easier to mobilise public support for the secession war by playing up victimhood emotions and coordinated propaganda narratives that presented half-facts as the whole truth. The secession war lasted just 30 months (two and a half years), and was roundly defeated in battle. It was a progressive combat defeat from beginning to the end. It was not any peace talk that ended the war, nor was it any International intervention. It was clear defeat. It was one of the shortest full-scale wars in contemporary African conflict studies. 7. By the second year of the war, many top Biafran leaders had moved their families out of the land. In the last weeks of the war, many other top leaders, including Ojukwu, fled to other countries, and the remaining frontline commanders, particularly Brigadier Achuzia who refused to flee (he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier by Ojukwu, as he, Ojukwu, was set to flee the land), reached out to surrounding Federal troops to surrender. It was a completely hopeless situation; no logistics, no food, no ammunition, demoralised and confused troops, at a time when even the shrinked Biafra land had been dissected into three parts (Biafra 1, Biafra 2 and Biafra 3), with virtual no-man's-land in between and surrounded by Federal troops. 8. The present drumbeat of war in the SouthEast is driven by dirty politics carried too far. Feeding the flame of passion with provocative rascalism, insults and abuses, ethnic hate propaganda and coordinated lies in which there is even no attempt to present a verifiable evidence, statistical facts, to proof the battle cry of Marginalisation. All that is required is the "Big-Lie" strategy as propounded by Joseph Goebbel, the Nazi propaganda minister of the Second World War : 'Tell the lie boldly and repeatedly, and the masses will take it as the truth'. But the strategy didn't save Hitler's Germany despite that it had a very formiddable military force. Germany was roundly defeated and its capital city, Berlin, reduced to rubbles by massive ground and aerial bombings. 9. Back to Nigeria, those who make stupid gambles of war today in the SouthEast, trusting in their version of the"Big-Lie" strategy, may sooner than later face a catastrophic and even more humiliating and confusing collapse of their dream and ego. 10. I rest my case. Azubike Nass (October 21, 2021). |
All this chest beating will not save the two top Terrorists Kanu and Ogboho. Nigerians must allow and encourage the law to take its course. |
ESN are killers in that region, they killed there chiefs and top Doctors level like Dr.Akunyili, what more of poor woman farmer. |

rabankonchas:Remembering the hooligans that burnt a large proportion of lagos down , looted shops and supermarkets, broken into prisons and released thousands of inmates, burned down police stations and attacked policemen while they were cheered on by the IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu (now incarcerated). They were supplied with food and drinks by a church in Lagos and these criminals were cheered on and encouraged in their mayhem and destruction by Twitter. Yes we should remember the failed coup called #Endsars. |
MangekyoAlt:Good effort from the security forces. Unknown gunmen should be next. |

This is Tinea Versicolor or Pytriasis Versicolor is a fungal ( yeast) infection of the skin. Yours is particularly bad and I can imagine your frustration. While antifungal ointments and creams can help, this condition tend to recur from use of old clothing and towels. It is important to consult a dermatologist but the most effective treatment seems to be the prolonged use of oral antifungal medications- like a period os one month and discarding or boil-washing all you underwears , towels and even beddings. |

iyke2frankeze:I agree with you, Igbos have no real history. A primitive tribe plunged into modernity. They have accepted modern world but their challenge is civilization. They cannot accept the civil behavior that comes with development hence their criminality , greed and selfishness. They also pay lip service to morality and religion. It will certainly be a win for the rest of Nigeria if Biafra becomes a reality and all Igbos return to their enclave. |

No body gives you Presidency in a democracy. You work for it, cultivate good will and campaign, appeal directly to the electorate. As for hate speech, the SE people are the masters of it. If you would ask me , the Igbos have more chance of getting Biafra than getting the Nigerian Presidency and I will advise them to sustain their Biafra secession efforts. I support their separation, we are tired. |
Brimstone77:If the states and LGAs you administer are not better than others in the country, why do you think you are not just another zoo? After all , signs of a Good Friday should be perceived from Wednesday. |
Such a blessing! You should be happy and organize a thanks giving. |

— CULLED— believe Igbo should have their Biafra because I find no single positive reason why we must live as one nation while other people closer to us than the Igbo are having separate nations. As a northerner without colonial mentality, I do not want colonial hangover to becloud my reason. There is already Biafra. No northerner dares dream of going to the east for whatever reason. So where is the One Nigeria? Is it not better to make the separation formal so that we can trade freely and even send ambassadors? Can't you see how the hausafulani, kanuri and other northern minority tribes relate with Niger, Cameroon, Ghana, Chad and Benin Republics? Northerners have related with some of these people for ages even before we know the Igbo. What is wrong if strangers like Igbos, Yorubas have their separate nations like our old friends in Niger, Ghana, Chad etc? For a hundred years past we have lived in mutual suspicion and bitterness with this strangers (igbos and yorubas), sometimes leading to carnage. Why must we live as some dead colonial masters wanted us to live? Only truth can solve this problem not a python and not a civil war mentality. We, northerners especially Hausa/Fulani/kanuri, are already the victims of this profitless irrational one Nigeria. Countless northerners have died like dogs, unmourned, uncompensated for, unavenged. Why must we accept economic blockade and massacres in the name of a fictional arrangement called Nigeria? What is our gain and what is our profit? Northerners especially muslims have never met with disaster in all of their history that consumes more blood, that destroys livelihood, that poisons the pyschic like one Nigeria. I care more for my people than Nigeria. I do not see Nigeria as worth the death and continuous humiliation of my people. We lack everything because of one Nigeria. Our markets are not ours. Our banks are not ours. Our telecommunition businesses are not ours. Our schools are not ours. Our foreign scholarship are not ours. We have no control over anything except our mouths that we are forced to shut up by southern elites and their press. We are the poorest in all developemental indices in Africa because we gave up everything to one ungrateful Nigeria. We must resist the false suggestion of greedy thieves posing as our leaders/elders whose only vision is to own a mansion in Dubai, UK and USA. Neither shall we fall for the error of old men dreaming of past personal glory. Let us reassess our condition rationally and boldly. Let us define the direction of our own future. Let us choose what we believe is the best for us, our children and fight for it. We and our youth must think for ourselves and give direction to our history. The world has changed and so we must change. We are not less than 90 million in population. We are the largest black nation on earth even without Nigeria. We must never remain stagnant and blinded by fake arrangement. Colonial nation states arrangement like Nigeria are fast losing relevence. The world is dealing in regions made up of real mutually compatable groups of people. Every great compatible group of people are striving to be truely represented in regions. Each mutually compatible people wish to, directly without acrimonious hinderance, exploit the opportunity offfered by regionally organised globalized world. Each also wish to enrich the world and preserve their common heritage. This is the reason for anti-colonial self determination struggle across the globe from Europe to Asia and from Australia to Americas. The Igbos and yorubas had travelled and mingled among free nations. No power on earth will stop them from dancing in the rising sun of growing freedom of people away from the stagnant historical dustbin of nation statism. They want to face the world on their own terms. We, on our part, must not continue to be victims of shortsighted local helmsmen who can not think beyond what those dead imperial masters had ordained by force of arms. If our parents were ruled by them, we must never accept their ghosts to rule us via greedy hosts. 90 million people are by far larger than 60% of individual nations in the world. We will not be the poorest. We will not be the weakest. We will not be isolated. Infact, we will be the biggest in Africa and among the richest. So why all the self imprisonment in an old moribund, no longer safe and no longer relevant Nigeria? Every wise man when given the choice of saving the house or the family, would certainly choose to save the family. So I choose my people. I want them to be free anywhere in the world including in Biafra, Oduduwa and I want them to be in control of what is theirs at home. So I choose my people! I Choose My People Fulani, Hausa, Kanuri and other northern minority tribes who wishes to stay in the north over Nigeria. Copied |
