Do not become insultive, you are not chatting with your girlfriend, I asked that question so I can explain something to you.

Now, I will bring someone to teach you much about this on the forum: Musicwriter, please if you are here, please permit me to put your link here for this boy to study about the Gods who were born on December 25 in history and I will buttress the facts with what Yahushuah Ha Masiach represents. I believe Reno Omokri has done justice to the word 'Jesus' which is actually fabricated.

Let me get something straight to you.

That guy on that picture is a paint job, I am sure you know that.

So believing that the fellow existed, when in essence he never existed is an intentional act of self-deceit, not faith. Who ever taught you that, lied to you, and I do not care if he is a Pastor or some hunter, Lie is a Lie.

Are we clear on that ?
If you are shown the painting William Shakespeare, will you say he never existed becos it just a painting? Did you the name Jesus?

You've just been churning out words of your own understanding which don't go in line with scriptures. All the parables you gave are clearly misunderstood.

All what you wrote up there are destroyed by the two verses below.

Romans 4:5
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Ephesians 2:8-9

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

The passage in Romans say if you do not WORK, you are still justified for believing in Jesus. This clearly goes in line with Ephesians seen above which says salvation is not by WORKS but by Faith. Until you come up with verses, all you'll just be saying will be your own man-made doctrine.
What you can not see, someone else will see. Justification by Faith Alone is Death.

LandlordHopeful:
cult
a system of religious veneration and devotion directed towards a particular figure or object.

Christianity is a cult based on the supposed sacrifice of a supposed demigod/god/human

All religions are cult in nature but not all cults are religion based

Why is Christianity seen as okay while other less popular religions are branded "Occultic"? its simply popularity. Just like the fashion industry, if a few people are wearing a particular bizarre style or haircut they'll be branded "bad" "area boys" "idiots" and laughed at behind their backs but as soon as these few people grow in numbers it becomes something "okay" and even encouraged. Christianity got popular but started as just a cult

Cults are small and generally ignored and despised. Religions are big and generally accepted. Cults grow into religions but the bigotry remains the same. The bigotry then becomes acceptable

Phil Edisbury, Wick, UK

A religion is a cult which has become acceptable
Richard., None. UK.
You can't help but think backwards abi.

It's Occult the same things a cult or Cultism? is the question. Even if you are right, As a Christian, i have chosen to be in this Cult with Christ as the grand Master, let the Op continue in his. And you in your own Self worship with Pride as your Grand Master.

alBHAGDADI:
You said the law doesn't not give salvation, how come you are hammering on it by implying that one can lose his salvation by not keeping the law? I hope you do know what the law means, and that it's not just the law of Moses.
This is the last i will say here because it's becoming a thing of pride, of who wins the argument.

What law are we talking about here exactly? because YHWH gave two sets of laws to Moses. The ceremonial or Sacrificial laws which were a shadow of Christ and what He wld do and Moral Laws of the Ten Commandments which are encapsulated in Loving God and other humans.

Which one are you not keeping sir? because even the Lord Jesus said "Don't suppose for a minute that I have come to demolish the Scriptures— either God's Law or the Prophets. I'm not here to demolish but to complete. I am going to put it all together, pull it all together in a vast panorama. God's Law is more real and lasting than the stars in the sky and the ground at your feet. Long after stars burn out and earth wears out, God's Law will be alive and working.

"Trivialize even the smallest item in God's Law and you will only have trivialized yourself. But take it seriously, show the way for others, and you will find honor in the kingdom.

Matt 5: 17-18 (The Message Bible).

Sir, here Jesus Christ the Lord God of Heaven and earth just told you to trivialize the Law at your peril.

alBHAGDADI:
You also said one can lose his salvation. I'll try not to be rude, but I'll ask: are you educated at all?. How can you lose your salvation when you are not the one that saved yourself? It's like a Bank walking up to you and saying you have lost the 50 million Naira you saved with them. Won't you find it odd that they failed in their responsibility to keep the money safe as they promised? Well, earthly banks can fail, not Jesus Christ. He is the one that saved you and still in charge of keeping you. Even if you go astray, he's going to bring you back. You can't lose your salvation because you already have eternal life. Losing your salvation will only mean the eternal life wasn't eternal after all.
Oh Lord!. This guy. I said we merit nothing to earn salvation, but once you receive it, you work to keep it.

That is why the Bible is full of 'Thou shall Nots'.

Sir. The Lord's teachings shows clearly that you can loose your salvation if you don't do something about it. You don't do something to get, but you do something to keep it.

Let's look at a few of such teachings.

1. The Parable of the Talents.
The servant who did nothing after receiving the talent got thrown out. He was he servant? Yes. Was he given salvation? Yes, did he loose it yes. Becos he was thrown out where there's gnashing of teeth.

2. The Ten virgins.
5 were wise, but 5 were foolish. They both received salvation freely. 5Kept doing stuff which kept them oiled, 5 did nothing because they believed Justification is only by the Faith that they had in Jesus, They got dried out and thrown out.

The Parable of the Sower.
There were 4 categorise of those who received salvation gladly. what happened to the other 3 groups, they did Nothing with it. what happened next? satan took it away.

Sir, God's gifts are without repentance, even to satan, what He gives He does not take back. But, you can throw yours away. Adam did didn't he?

alBHAGDADI:
Presenting your body holy unto God doesn't mean it is saying we should save ourselves. It simply means we should live a holy life which isn't a prerequisite to salvation. It is just a fruit of salvation which when others see, they will be encouraged to embrace that spirit that changed your life for good.
I believe every rational reader would see that i have never said we can save ourselves by what we do.

The discourse here is not about whether or not we can save ourselves. It is whether or not we can loose our salvation after receiving it. And, that is exactly what Rom. 12: 1-2 says. After Salvation, work to keep it.

Salvation is a door which opens into a work shop. Someone else opens it, but while inside, Work. Jesus being God, worked.

You called what Romans says 'Fruits'. I hope you know that fruits are the results of work? Faith without works is dead.

alBHAGDADI:
Your last paragraphs are just you quoting scriptures halfway and mixing it up with your own ideology. Do you know what it means to work out your salvation? It is not saying you should save yourself just as you are implying. If that's the case, then what is the essence of Jesus dying when we can actually save ourselves? Now read the verse and the next verse to understand the context, since you've never been trained to know what cintext means.
Who ever said anything about saving oneself?

Work your salvation is the same as what John the Baptist said to the Jews;
When John realized that a lot of Pharisees and Sadducees were showing up for a baptismal experience because it was becoming the popular thing to do, he exploded: "Brood of snakes! What do you think you're doing slithering down here to the river? Do you think a little water on your snakeskins is going to make any difference? It's your life that must change, not your skin! And don't think you can pull rank by claiming Abraham as father. Being a descendant of Abraham is neither here nor there. Descendants of Abraham are a dime a dozen. What counts is your life. Is it green and blossoming? Because if it's deadwood, it goes on the fire. (M.S.G)

Bringing up fruits meet for repentance is what that verse is saying. But what if you don't bring fruits? What did Jesus say about a fruitless tree? Cut it down and turn it to firewood.

alBHAGDADI:
b]Philippians 2:12-13[/b]
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

When you go to the gym, what do you say you are doing there? You say you are working out. What are you working out? Your muscles. when you work out your muscles, your friends start to admire your new look. This can encourage them to go to the gym too and look marvelous like you. When you go to the gym, you are simply working out the muscles which God already put in you. Now go up and read the verses again and see how it matches my illustration.

Your own illustration of verse 12 is that we need to neglect Jesus and save ourselves. You neglected the next verse which is suppose to give you full understanding.

You say justification is not by faith alone. But look at what the below verses say.

Romans 4:5
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Ephesians 2:8-9

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
If you can trace what prompted Paul to say these, you'd know you are standing on a wrong premise.

Paul was rebuking the Jews and encouraging the Gentiles.

This verse explicitly tells me one can loose their Salvation.

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Revelation:3:5

It's the Master Himself talking here. If He can blot out a name from His book of Life, means that name was written there in the first place, for you can't erase what was not written. That name was written at Salvation, but can get erased out of carelessness.

@Op.
About May this year, while out for Evangelism, i met this very interesting Man. After i ministered Christ to him, he wanted us to talk more about Jesus. He was full of questions, so we scheduled another meeting. We kept meeting to talk. He brought in his wife into our meetings.

He opened up to me what he was going 2ru. Now, this guy is in a mess. nothing around him works. Its so bad that his kids do not eat twice in a day. There's no poverty around him per say, but he is living in penury. Why? he was raised in a home with every thing as his father is loaded but steep in the Ogboni Fraternity.

As an only Son, his father informed him early about his replacement in the coven, initially he followed him to their meetings, but wouldn't enter inside. Just for him to get the jerk and get use to it.

While in the Uni, he met a lecturer who introduced him to the Amorch. He began studying with them. He told his lecturer about his father, the guy convinced him that Amorch was more prestigious, so he dished his father. When the time for his initiation came, he refused to do it. He told his father he'd find his own way. And, he did.

Fast forward to now. He is married with kids. Things were okay initially as he rolled with this crowd. He discovered that the society is run by a network of Occult men in different frats. Then one day from no where, his sponsor and mentor in Amorch, called him to a private meeting, telling to quit ASAP becos he was drawing nearer to deeper levels of satanism. He had gone deep, but not as deep as his Oga.

Oga said he wants out and all his underlines had been told to leave if they thought more of the After Life. He said, in one of his Astral projections, he encountered an entity different from them and it wasn't funny. He said he believed that was Jesus and that he wanted to research and explore on that.

When he was convinced that it was Jesus he had encountered he decided to serve him instead. So he summoned his converts with info that he was leaving.

This man said, he left too. But both him and his master did not embrace Jesus fully, his master was messed up then killed. Him? things began spiralling down to the ground. By now his Father was not talking to him. But, haven lost everything and can hardly feed, he went back to his father begging and accepted to get initiated, he said his father looked at him knowingly and said 'I have been waiting, i knew you'd come'.

He was told to get ready and stand by. in the interim, he ran into an old friend from school who had become stuffed, he wanted to know, so he was told. He accepted go on with the rituals. He didn't want to belong to Frat. but wanted money.

He provided the requirements and they moved to Benin to meet with the witchdoctor. He said he was surprised to hear the Native doctor conclude his incantations with in Jesus name. He said he was shaken because he knows that in the gathering of the spirits, the name Jesus, spoils things.

Now, he was in debt as his friend had borrowed him the money he used to buy stuff, and the baba has just spoiled everything by mentioning Jesus here. Others responded amen, but he didn't. When they were to leave, he withdrew and asked the Baba why he did that, the Baba said, no one can really get anything outside of Jesus. That Jesus is the Highest of them all.

He said, he was quiet all through the 5hours journey back. When he got back, his father called and said 'It's tonight by 12, we leave by 11 pm'. He was still conflicted, he told his Dad he had changed his mind. He father blew off the top. He talking about his reputation and all, but he couldn't go on knowing it will end up nowhere if it's not Jesus.

I just sat there listening to this man. He knows that the Occult leads nowhere but destruction. We are studying the Bible and he has started attending Church. pray the Lord will sustain him.

Him and his father are sworn enemies now.

alBHAGDADI:
You just wrote a pile load of junk (except the Bible verses). It also shows that you lack knowledge of the Bible.

The passage in Ephesians 2:8-9 isn't talking about circumcisions. How dare you say that is the context of the passage when nothing in the entire chapter talked about circumcisions? When talking about context of a verse, it is about what the previous or succeeding verses say to give clear meaning to the particular verse. You are totally wrong or dubious to have said the context of that verse is about circumcision when the entire chapter doesn't say anything like that. I guess you just wanted to get rid of the verse that shows clearly that salvation is not of works but by faith.

The funny part is that the other Bible verse and explanation you gave are actually you shooting yourself in the foot. Over and over again you kept speaking of how Paul kicked against the law which includes circumcision, yet you want us to believe that keeping the law is necessary for salvation. That's very funny.
Sir, keeping the law does not give you salvation, but if it is offered and you take it, you work to keep it or you loose it.

If you turn away after gladly receiving it, you'd loose it.

Jesus used the Parable of The Sower to Illustrate this.

And again, it is he who hears the Word and does something about it that is Justified by God, not those who hear it, believe it but sit down and did nothing.

Sir, i will say it again Justification by Faith Alone is a Farce. Everyone who ever was called by God, worked very hard to stay saved.

What did Romans 12 : 1-2 mean to you?

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

It says, 'Now that you are saved, do something about it'.

Christ does not do the transformation or the renewal for you, hence, it says 'Be Ye'. You do it by yourself. Why not sit back and do nothing?

Work out your Salvation with Fear (godly reverence) and tremble, for Faith without works amounts to foolishness, like a man who builds his house on sand.

Jesus never gave you this message because He himself worked. Apst Paul Worked, all of them worked and paid dearly for their Faith.

Jesus said Hold on to what you have so that it won't be taken from you.

If you sincerely believe that Justification is by Faith Alone, trust me, you shall be the Servant whom The Master will say to 'Where is the talent i gave to you?'

I'm always amazed at how you guys easily kick the Bible away and hold on to man-made doctrines. Here you are saying salvation by faith alone is a farce, whereas that's what the Bible says in the verse seen below.

Ephesians 2:8-9

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Also, you say faith without works is no faith. You are wrong because that's not what the Bible says. As seen in the Bible, faith without works is dead.

James 2:26
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Yes, faith without works is dead. This still doesn't mean faith isn't in existence in such a person. It's the same thing as pointing at a dead dog and saying the dog doesn't have life. Yes, the dog is lifeless, but the body is still a dog. A man who has faith but doesn't do works is still a believer who will make heaven. His believe in Jesus alone justifies him and makes him righteous even without doing works.

Romans 4:5
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
No one is kicking off the Bible. The issue with you is that, you are not allowing scriptures to interpret Scriptures for clarity.

Pls let's take Eph 2 : 8-9 within Context and you'd understand what Apst Paul is saying and what prompted it.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians:2:8

Here, Apst Paul is speaking in response to what has ensued previously. Which was that the non-Jewish Christians were made to feel inferior before their Jewish brethren becos they were not circumcised as the law of Moses stipulated. Paul was trying to re-assure the Gentile Christians that the Circumsission was of the heart, not the cutting of the flesh.

Christ wants us purged and clean inside not necessarily outside, so shd not be allowed to be bamboozled into believing that they had to perform some ritual before the Lord will accept them.

But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.

For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.

Galatians:2:11-12

At this Point, Christianity has spread and non-Jews who didn't have the Law of Moses had become part of the fold, but Pharisaic Jews (who believed that without circumcision you are not good enough to be accepted by God)had become Christians too, were boasting to the other brethren about their perfection and Holiness by keeping to the Law of Moses which basically was the cutting off of their Foreskin. we See this in what ensued between Paul and Peter in Antioch.

When the Pharisaic Jews (The circumcised) were not there, he mingled and accepted the other Christians, but when they came he separated from them, indirectly admitting that circumcision is the only way one can be accepted by God. This prompted Eph 2: 8-9 you quoted.

This in Essence means that, the Cause of your acceptance is what you must do first and foremost. But Apst Paul disproved that by telling them in Romans 3 & 4 that what Justifies a man is the Faith that that man has and puts in Christ, not by what he did.

Now compare. Rom 2: 8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

And;

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets

Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans:3:20-3)23

All here means, all without exception and all without distinction.

He then went further to tell them that if there was a man who shd have boasted as a resulted of his fleshy activity, Abraham wld've been that man, but even him could not boast because when God met him he was steep in idol worship and uncircumcised, yet he was justified. Now, what occasioned that Justification? He believed that God was Sincere when He told him to leave everything and follow Him and will be made a Father of Many Nations.

He trusted God to keep to His words. That was the Initial Faith that saves.

But, Work comes in as Abraham, after believing takes a step futher and moved out of Mesopotamia to Canaan. From Civilization to the desert. From well constructed buildings to living in Tents.

Works came in when God told him, circumcise yourself and every male in your house and he did. Works came in as he was told, kill your son, your only son whom thou lovest, and he did. If he had refused, he wouldn't have been forced.

Justification is not automatic, if it were, everyone will be saved. Then, we wont be in a relationship with the Lord. For, He would've forced us to be with Him against our volition. But, the Lord wants a Love, Free Willing partnership. The act of reciprocity comes in. I say, you do. 'Two cannot walk together except they agreed'.

Abraham was a Sinner like everyone of us, but like everyone of us received the initial gift of salvation which was presented to him by way of instructions. "Leave Your Father's House and go to the place i will show you...".

The same process still ensues today. The message of salvation is still presented to us free of charge, but it follows with instructions which we need to Obey and act on, without which, there won't be any Justification. The Lord believe for Abraham, He did not enter into Abraham's legs and make him move to Canaan. He didn't make Abraham obey Him. Abraham did all by his volition, that is Faith and works.

Accept Jesus as your Lord and personal saviour, and take a step further by standing up openly and identifying with Him. You say a sinners prayer. You go and get baptised. You make effort to work/walk in the Word as you consciously pick it to read for yourself.

The gift of salvation is free to induct you into the Kingdom, but if you only believe in your heart but take no step towards transformation and renewing of your mind, you'd be like the Seed that fell by the way side. Your'd loose your salvation.

Not important. It adds nothing to me.
