SatoshiX:The thing that humours me is some of them think the fact that they fill their officer quota in the Army regularly, while neglecting filling the quota for other ranks (soldiers) is a wise and strategic thing. This is why I once again say people should take history seriously as you will clearly see that the main way the North took over control of the officer corp (and Nigeria) with their less brilliant officers at that time, was with the aid of their overwhelming majority in the other ranks. You stoop to conquer, oldest political trick in the Army. |
Its only the gullible he can decieve with this after he has decamped before....anyway I am glad he accepts that he has many sins sha |
gunners160:Are you female and at least happily married for 5 years? |
Walking speed, overdressed and calculating in naira are very very true. |
Please marry for love and not to repay a debt. Also if you end up marrying for riches and not love, the same end is likely to befall you, i.e. regret. |
Franklin242:The least government sanctioned minimum wage I could find in Switzerland is equivalent to €21 per hour, so again confirming the title of this topic is quite misleading. |
lockheed55:The headline is misleading, the writeup should have said the countries with the highest minimum wage in the EU. Even Switzerland would have definitely been high on the list if it was really being assessed as Europe. |
Some people are just clowns. Instead of them to complain about the amount being earmarked or the initial neglect like educated people, there issue is that the seat of the whole country's economic power is being favoured? Favoured by what exactly? Where do these people think Nigeria will be without Lagos? Ordinary small Endsarz the Nigerian economy was paralysed it is when 3rd mainland and Carter bridge fall down that they think there will be economic prosperity ?? Utterly clueless clowns. |
2mch:I had prepared a beffiting response for your rude reply but spambot as usual intervened inappropriately. Now that you have decided to be mature and actually provide "evidence" does the carving of Lajuwa in anyway resemble the filas we wear nowadays and the OP originally referred to? Did I not clearly state that the only people who would have moved around in caps would be royalty? I will not even bother with the 2nd image as it is doubtful that is even a lady as most Ife sculptures clearly made it clear when they were carving ladies and that is clearly not representative of geles as we know them. So I ask again, did you really need to be rude if all you wanted to contribute to this thread was that Yoruba royalty wore head coverings before the Europeans came...did anyone dispute that with you initially? |
2mch:Why should I explain something that is obviously recent?? If you can provide a picture of Yoruba woman in pre European times wearing gele (with the material currently used) then I will start explaining. Somethings are so obvious I wonder why we'd want to argue about them. Or in any of our carvings did did you see women wearing gele?? |
What Israel is doing will come back to haunt them when they least expect it....they never learn. |
It is clear that the OPs write up is sound. Its simply logical, it makes no sense that in humid temperate environments our ancestors would have been busy bothering themselves wearing caps, especially with the texture of our hair. I mean it's a maybe for royalty, but for the vast majority of people, its a logical no. Also if you look at the historical pictures of the Binis, who resisted European influence more than any other tribe in the South, they hardly wore caps...even the Oba. |
Nochiriemmanuel:Thats why the refineries have never worked now, I am sure if a SEner had been GMD we'd be pumping more oil than Saudia Arabia and Nigeria would be more advanced than Tokyo! |
Even if she becomes prime minister for a day or a month, she will never have a place she can truly call home again...black man will never learn. |
Well he said it as a joke but just like his big brother Amaechi, he will say whatever to whatever crowd to get what he wants....that ladies and gentlemen is how to be a successful politician in Nigeria, decieve your audience and let the gullible fight your battles for you. |
Mrchippychappy:Like someone pointed out to you, why should they? The boy is British by all accounts, even the stupidity of public groping isn't something someone raised in Nigeria would do. |
franugo:You are welcome. By the way even I did not know the market is that big. Thankfully though I never trusted them when they were pleading poverty to the minister that tariffs should be increased, I had a feeling they were making money from somewhere else and just pretending like typical greedy corporates do. |
franugo:The main issue seems to be that MTN especially uses a foreign firm (south African of course) to provide the airtime loans to customers, so really when you take an airtime loan from MTN Nigeria it is an SA firm actually loaning you the airtime and sharing profit with MTN. I am guessing the law they want to pass will make it mandatory for TELCOS to use Nigerian firms to backup the loans, which of course is better for us as a nation. |
Wow, a great message from Madonna and I agree that if this American Pope went to Gaza it would strongly make it clear to Israel that any support they have for continuing like this is coming to an end among most of the basic decent peoples of the world. |
A good writeup and like I keep saying with the way young people are behaving nowadays and the way elders are now afraid to correct them, the big problems with Nigerian society won't just be political and economic ones but the more serious and almost suicidal issues of uncontrolled moral decadence and inability for anyone to take responsibility for their actions..... basically we will turn into the US without the prosperity to make life bearable and livable for most people. Sodom and Gomorrah will be child's play by the time Nigerians have finished showing our true "potential". |
DonBenny77:Thank you for correcting me. I had only seen the videos on youtube and they have a strict no nudity clause so I didn't see the actions of the Ibom staff. Now I've gone to X and seen it and that staff does not only deserve to be sacked but prosecuted and locked up in the same cell with this woman so they can they can continue their roforofo fight and useless jealousy that characterises their sex. |
We pretend too much in this country....looking at the video and how she fought the staff, it was obvious what kind of girl she is and who she came to Lagos to meet. Now the minister is angry that someone that chose to wear revealing clothes and engage in fisticuffs is snapped half naked, did she not know all of this before she started her boxing match? If the videos are heavily edited how are we suppose to know who to blame and not just assume that the staff ganged up to bully her? Its like that NYSC girl that said Lagos is smelling why she was busy doing hookup in every highbrow restaurant Lagos has available....we pretend too much in this country. People must learn to take responsibility for their actions. If she knows she likes fighting she should wear Hijab so her unclothedness is adequately covered. Anyway I am guessing the big man she came to service in Lagos is already pressing buttons so they can release her. Thanks OP for confirming my suspicions of the kind of lady she is. |
Olyautos:Una just de catch trips anyhow now... everyone don turn by force comedian in this generation. |
The question now remains, when will the boys join. Or is it only the females that enjoy the benefits their mother tongue ascribes to be phonetically superior in English? When next will I hear an Aboki besides, Sir Tafawa Balewa, blow English that will make someone proud of being Nigerian? |
He should have expected this, there are still too many DL adherents that are more catholic than the Pope, so they will disagree with him once they find any scripture to back them up. To be honest, he should start getting the church ready for his eventuality, no matter what, he is only human. |
Now I understand how Wike bested this "man" Amaechi even as a sitting governor, he has too many feminine attributes. How can a grown man be continuously running his mouth like this....chai |
RetroviralS:Please when you are hyping this drug, remember to tell people it costs $30,000 for a year's treatment....the price will probably kill most Nigerians before the virus will. |
A friend of mine joked that he has probably never spoken that much English in his life, that is the true punishment ![]() |
Kukutente23:He practices Chrislam apparently. https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/im-a-bonafide-member-of-celestial-church-i-built-a-parish-k1-de-ultimate/%3famp |
