Ask yourself are there many igbos in the Army to start with? The other time, Frank Mba had to hurriedly promoted from ACP till he gets to DIG just to fill in the SE gap at the top of the Police ranking.
Even during the last recruitment exercise, one of the SE governors came out to complain about the low show of interest by his people.
So who do we blame? The institution or your people? Look in the mirror for the answer

The thing that humours me is some of them think the fact that they fill their officer quota in the Army regularly, while neglecting filling the quota for other ranks (soldiers) is a wise and strategic thing.

This is why I once again say people should take history seriously as you will clearly see that the main way the North took over control of the officer corp (and Nigeria) with their less brilliant officers at that time, was with the aid of their overwhelming majority in the other ranks.

You stoop to conquer, oldest political trick in the Army.

UK’s minimum wage is higher than that of Ireland when converted to Euros

Ireland per hour €13.50
UK per hour €14.30

The least government sanctioned minimum wage I could find in Switzerland is equivalent to €21 per hour, so again confirming the title of this topic is quite misleading.

The headline is misleading, the writeup should have said the countries with the highest minimum wage in the EU.

Even Switzerland would have definitely been high on the list if it was really being assessed as Europe.

I will not even bother with the 2nd image as it is doubtful that is even a lady as most Ife sculptures clearly made it clear when they were carving ladies and that is clearly not representative of geles as we know them.

So I ask again, did you really need to be rude if all you wanted to contribute to this thread was that Yoruba royalty wore head coverings before the Europeans came...did anyone dispute that with you initially?

Ok. Explain gele which Yoruba women wear. You can’t compare one tribe to the other. Head covering is worn also as sun protection. Ability to afford and be able to sew or weave cloth which the Yoruba were famous for, is a sign of wealth. Don’t compare bini to Yoruba. We have been trading for centuries and the beads or iron work we traded have been found in other continents.

Why should I explain something that is obviously recent?? If you can provide a picture of Yoruba woman in pre European times wearing gele (with the material currently used) then I will start explaining.

Somethings are so obvious I wonder why we'd want to argue about them. Or in any of our carvings did did you see women wearing gele??

It is clear that the OPs write up is sound. Its simply logical, it makes no sense that in humid temperate environments our ancestors would have been busy bothering themselves wearing caps, especially with the texture of our hair. I mean it's a maybe for royalty, but for the vast majority of people, its a logical no.

Also if you look at the historical pictures of the Binis, who resisted European influence more than any other tribe in the South, they hardly wore caps...even the Oba.

Thankfully though I never trusted them when they were pleading poverty to the minister that tariffs should be increased, I had a feeling they were making money from somewhere else and just pretending like typical greedy corporates do.

If you understand it, then kindly explain. I'm not sure why you people think being rude is cool.

The main issue seems to be that MTN especially uses a foreign firm (south African of course) to provide the airtime loans to customers, so really when you take an airtime loan from MTN Nigeria it is an SA firm actually loaning you the airtime and sharing profit with MTN.

I am guessing the law they want to pass will make it mandatory for TELCOS to use Nigerian firms to backup the loans, which of course is better for us as a nation.

A good writeup and like I keep saying with the way young people are behaving nowadays and the way elders are now afraid to correct them, the big problems with Nigerian society won't just be political and economic ones but the more serious and almost suicidal issues of uncontrolled moral decadence and inability for anyone to take responsibility for their actions..... basically we will turn into the US without the prosperity to make life bearable and livable for most people.

Sodom and Gomorrah will be child's play by the time Nigerians have finished showing our true "potential".

Thank you for correcting me. I had only seen the videos on youtube and they have a strict no nudity clause so I didn't see the actions of the Ibom staff.

Now I've gone to X and seen it and that staff does not only deserve to be sacked but prosecuted and locked up in the same cell with this woman so they can they can continue their roforofo fight and useless jealousy that characterises their sex.

We pretend too much in this country....looking at the video and how she fought the staff, it was obvious what kind of girl she is and who she came to Lagos to meet.

Now the minister is angry that someone that chose to wear revealing clothes and engage in fisticuffs is snapped half naked, did she not know all of this before she started her boxing match? If the videos are heavily edited how are we suppose to know who to blame and not just assume that the staff ganged up to bully her? Its like that NYSC girl that said Lagos is smelling why she was busy doing hookup in every highbrow restaurant Lagos has available....we pretend too much in this country.

People must learn to take responsibility for their actions. If she knows she likes fighting she should wear Hijab so her unclothedness is adequately covered. Anyway I am guessing the big man she came to service in Lagos is already pressing buttons so they can release her.
