Clearly enough people won't be happy until they sabotage this refinery and they can go back to making money the easy way.

Every Tom , Dick and Harry is building multi storey structures in Lagos which actually makes sense seeing the amount of people we have and the limited land....however Lagos State government must be awake to their duties to regulate as our councils and local governments are utter failures (like the rest of the country).

Please, Lagos State, you need to work and show you are a leader before you allow the typical Nigerian greed to kill more and more innocent souls.

PoliticsSoyinka Blasts US Over Visa Re-Interview by AndroBlaze(op): 12:30pm On Sep 11, 2025
Instead of the world's capital of "peacetime" death & gun violence to be happy that a few intellectuals still have their stamps

Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka has said he will not honour an invitation by the United States Consulate in Nigeria to a visa reinterview, which it had scheduled for Thursday, September 11.

Soyinka made this known in an interview with TheNEWS online while reacting to the recent invitation the American Consulate sent to Nigerians with B1/B2 visas, asking them to go to the American Consulate for what it calls a visa reinterview.

The distinguished writer is one of many Nigerians invited to that interview. Soyinka, who was taken aback by the invite, which he finds strange and bizarre and, according to him, not a personal issue, had initially thought it was fake and a fraudulent move by scammers bent on duping unsuspecting Nigerians.

“I would like to begin by stressing the fact that, for me, this is not a personal issue. I have no idea how you got to know. By the way, I also have received the letter, which at first I thought was a fake. I thought it was these scammers who sort of prey on those eager to get visas elsewhere, with promise to deliver visas for a certain amount guaranteed.”

I thought they just picked up my name among others because they knew there was a list of those who have been invited.

“So, at the beginning, I thought it was advance fee fraud because I had never received that kind of letter from that or any other embassy. I thought that maybe AI has been generating generic letters. It was very strange. So, by the time I came to terms with the fact that this letter is genuine, my mind just went to my relationship with individual ambassadors, Consul-Generals and Cultural Attachés. As you know, it’s always been a courteous relationship,” Soyinka noted.

Soyinka also said he has more important things to do than chase visas for places he doesn’t want to go to and where he is not wanted. “So the question of going to such an interview is totally out of consideration,” he maintained.

Soyinka specifically frowned at the date, 9/11, the American Consulate had chosen for the proposed interview, a day which, according to him, is very critical for the United States, saying he is a bit superstitious not just for the United States but for the rest of the world, given what that date signifies. Soyinka affirmed that that day should be regarded as a day of national mourning, for deep, sober reflection, rather than for the perpetuation of ignoble motives such as an invitation for visa reinterview.

“In addition, I happen to be a little bit superstitious of being given a significant date, not just for the United States but the rest of the world. I’m talking about 9/11. This is a day which I have always considered very critical for the United States especially. To me, 9/11 should be regarded as a day of national mourning, of atonement by the Consulate of the United States.

“They should close down offices on that day, not to keep inviting people to come and have their visas taken away. It should be a day of reflection, of serious, deep thinking in consideration of so many things. I think on that day, United States should shut down completely, universally. If they don’t shut down, at least I would shut down my relationship with them on that day. Because I’m very superstitious. I’m not going anywhere near there on 9/11. I will be airborne somewhere,” Soyinka maintained.

However, Soyinka also said even though he considers invitations by embassies to be invitations from governments, it depends on which kind of government that is sending out such invitations.

He mentioned the United States, for instance, which according to him has a “white Idi Amin” at the helm of affairs. Soyinka said he is wary of such invitation because of his safety.

PresidentMUGABE:
“WE PROVIDED NIGERIA WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO EMBRACE LIGHT IN 1979, BUT THEY CHOSE THEIR OWN PATH”

-Russian Presido and Point One Vladmir Putin opens up in-debt analysis of how Nigeria denied accepting the light.

“In the early days of 1979, the Soviet Union envisioned fostering friendship across Europe and beyond, with an eye on the future. Nigeria, a vibrant African nation, stood out due to its potential for success, fueled by reports of its booming oil deals in the global market.

The Soviets sought not dominance but genuine partnership, believing that two great nations could coexist and create something extraordinary from nothing. In 1980, the Ajaokuta Steel Company was established as a landmark of this vision, showcasing what such a collaboration could achieve.

However, Western influences intervened, as they often do, swaying Nigeria and leaving our Ajaokuta project abandoned and left to deteriorate. Today, Nigeria continues to struggle to find its footing, yet that project could have positioned them as a global leader in the steel industry.
I hope future generations of Nigerians learn to choose their allies wisely!”
You people have started again, please where and when did Putin say this?

I have a small Ox standing fan I bought in 2022. So recently, we got a solar installation.
It was blowing so fast and nice. Few weeks after using it with solar it stopped working.

We asked a maintaince man to help us check it out, he said we are going to buy a Capacitor. I paid and after fixing it the capacito, the fan still didn't work.
He now said we are going to have to change the coil.

So I want to ask people who have changed a coil before, if it's worth it. Hope if they rewire or change the coil, it will work well and not get spoilt quickly?
The issue is not even repairing the fan, the issue is your Solar installation might likely spoil it again, and some other appliances if you are not careful.

Do you know the exact make of your inverter, if not take a picture and drop it here.

You have changed tact.
I am not referring to Enugu's side of the story or any other extenuating circumstance
I am calling out your theory that a contractor has an obligation to ensure standards in govt approved contracts
That's warped thinking regardless of any other circumstance that may surround this particular case
As a matter of fact, the govt narrative is at odds with your initial take. The govt actually paid him well for the contract and monitored his performance which enabled them to come to a conclusion that he was defrauding the state
Your initial case which transfers responsibility for ensuring that govt contracts are done according to standards to the contractor is what I am correcting. It is wrong, false and totally irresponsible.
Government is the primary regulator of all economic activities in all countries of the world. Learn that lesson today!!
Again you choose to miss the point.

Who is the government? What is the government? Who makes up the government?

T H E P E O P L E

The government did not fall from the sky. They are not aliens, they came from the same place you and I come from and bleed like you and I.

Do I really need government to tell me I shouldn't cut corners to build a SCHOOL for little children? Do I need government to tell me that I should ensure whatever contract I get for this job, I am able to do fantastic job to ensure children are safe or even inspired by what I built?

Oyinbo politicians are not that much different from ours. A lot are selfish and if given the chance to be corrupt and get away with it, they will. However their society is far ahead of ours not because they chose outer terrestrial Aliens as leaders, but because most people take it on their own to do their own part to ensure a decent society.

When last did you hear of Oyinbo building schools that collapse. Some of us went to their schools and the structures have been standing and beautiful for more than 200 years!! To make it worse, most of their higher institutions were started by private institutions and people, from their own private pocket! Same with their religious places of worship , some older than a thousand years!

We all have our part to play if we want a society that our kids will be proud of, as human beings created by God equally, we cannot continue to call GOVERNMENT for every single thing, while others have since moved on with their life.

So back to the point of my original post, I was not absolving the government of blame as I had not heard their part before I posted it. However I saw clearly through his cynical attempts to blame someone else for his failing as a human being and succumbing to greed.

A man of his stature had no business chasing contracts that he knew he could not execute properly, especially if it was a SCHOOL and if his name meant as much to him as he pretended it did in that video.

He is the example of the typical type that rises in this country, selfish and always thinking about themselves, never thinking about what they could do to improve other people, despite knowing their success is based on Nigeria being an unfair basketcase.

Your thinking is warped
You're blaming a contractor for a state gov asking him to build substandard schools?
Who has responsibility for ensuring standard between the contractor and the heartless state gov?
Who gives out contact specifications between the gov and the contractor
Some of you can defend anything as long as it's politicians involved
I just hope your pay is worth it
Oga it is you that is struggling to think outside the box without blaming all your problems on politicians.

You heard only one side of the story and you just assumed that everything he said was 100% true without even listening to how he was indicting himself. You should be old enough to know there are always 2 sides to the story and a grown man applying theatrics is likely embellishing things

For your information he accepted a contract of over N11bn to build 22 schools. Thats N500m a school with change on top. Government gave him N5bn as mobilisation fee.

As bad as Nigeria is currently, N500m in Enugu is far more than enough to ensure standard structures. Go online and see the rubbish he was building that was collapsing and injuring people.

So between me an you, who is the one defending people who don't care about your existence and make their money of the corrupt basketcase that is Nigeria??

Some of you just talk anyhow without even the smallest verification.

How do you know the schools that were being. Built were substandard?
Read between the lines.

He admitted on the video that from DAY ONE, the cost the government wanted him to build the schools at did not make sense, and the government apparently accepted this.

Which suggests even if not for inflation, he would have definitely had to cut corners to deliver.

What you people don't know is that this is standard practice for a lot of government projects and that is why a lot of them don't last or contractors abandon the projects halfway (if it even gets to halfway).

Most government officials don't go after a lot of these contractors because they've already collected their own part even before the project begins.

I was not there when he did his project (so I can't say if his own followed the exact same tune), but this is no news nor a major earth shattering discovery, everyone in their circle knows these things.

How can a professional accept a contract to build substandard buildings as SCHOOLS, and be openly saying it, and because he is shedding tears in the video, Nigerians will start supporting him.

If the buildings collapse, just like Lekki Gardens own did, and innocent children from poor and average families now die, people will be calling out government, Tinubu is wicked, Mbah is wicked... conveniently forgetting their was a contractor who knew he could not meet standards that took the job in the first place!!

Could this grown man who is already wealthy (thanks to Nigeria being a basket case) not just say "No" and move on??

Is it every contract that we must take in this country?

Anyway, he has shed tears now so it cannot be his fault.....chai it is good to be an "Elite" in this country ooo, these kind of followers there mumu never do

Please advise me
Your post is not specific at all and no one can provide quality advice with the details you have stated.

First of all answer these question:

1. What type of battery did you buy, lifepo or lithium ion?
2. Who did you buy from?
3. Who recommended him to you?
4. Specs of the battery you want to buy...i.e.12v, 100amps, anything more specific will help
4. Pictures and links of the battery if available

Do the same thing for the Jumia battery you are comparing it to.

Also please learn to be more specific and detailed when seeking help on an open forum, nobody is a mind-reader here.
