Appointment that he wasn't payed for,
Just like your house is leaking and the landlord gave you the go ahead to fix the house, does that mean he made you the caretaker ?
You see how you people cause problems for someone, did he tell you that he was not paid for it?

Do you think after all the insult he has collected for this thing that he revealed himself and nobody asked him about, he would not have come out clearly to say he was not paid for it to diffuse the tension. Did they teach you in school that FG does not pay board appointees? Someone directed a whole minister of "finance" to setup a board and you think they will not get paid, the board chairman...na wa oo.

Stop causing problem for the man and listen to his actual words and not what you wish to hear.

The only thing he has said is he worked for the government for 2 weeks (which is more than normal for most FG board appointees in Nigeria till today), he did not tell you he was not paid. The man already has enough problem before you add another one because of unchained boastfulness.

He said it himself that he was giving audience with other of his business partners by The head of state and the minister of finance. To elicit their demands based on what was affecting their private business.

The propaganda was that he was meeting Abacha for government appointment.

In the video, he made us understand that he doesn't know or hasn't met with Abacha in terms of government appointment or ministerial role, like the propagandist want us to believe.
The "Head of State" was named Abacha, please say his name after me, Abacha.

He himself, unsolicited (as nobody begged him to say it in the first place) met him physically and collected an "appointment", these are the words from his own mouth. Head of States don't give appointments in Shell or GTB, they give appointments in government and government run parastals.

After that, he now again, uses the same mouth, in 30 seconds to say he never met him nor collected an appointment from him. So what exactly is the issue here?

The best advice anyone can give him is he should talk less and not always grandstand, we are all human and everyone should stop trying to act like some of us are cut from a different cloth.

Focus on issues and stop the irrelevant boasting.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Stanbic Bank Nigeria Is Holding My Salary Hostage: A Bitter Personal Experience by AndroBlaze:

Stanbic Bank Nigeria Is Holding My Salary Hostage: A Bitter Personal Experience

I never imagined that getting a job — something I worked so hard and prayed for — would become the very source of pain, hunger, and humiliation. But here I am, a newly employed staff of the Kwara State government, unable to access my own hard-earned salary — because of Stanbic IBTC Bank Nigeria.

Let me tell you exactly how this nightmare began.

When we were offered our appointments, we were asked to open accounts with a list of banks to receive our monthly salary. Poor me — I chose Stanbic. I wish someone had warned me. I wish I knew this bank could strangle someone's future with something as simple as upgrading an account.

Salaries were paid. Everyone else got credited. I didn’t even get an alert. Confused and worried, I checked — only to find out that Stanbic Bank opened a tier one account for me without informing me that such an account can’t receive more than ₦50,000. My salary bounced back. Just like that.

I immediately reached out to the bank. I was told I needed to upgrade the account. Fair enough. They asked for documents — ID, utility bill, the usual. I submitted everything.

Then they told me the address on the utility bill didn’t match the one on my account. I said fine, change the address to match the utility bill. After all, it’s my current and valid address. Guess what happened next?

They claimed they went to my community to verify. Instead of contacting me directly or checking anything official, they asked a random person on the street if they knew me. The person said no (which isn’t surprising — we all know not everyone knows their neighbors by name), and that was it. Based on one stranger’s response, they refused to upgrade my account.

So here I am, working every day for the government, doing my part, showing up with hope — yet I’m starving. I can’t pay for food. I can’t pay my transport. My landlord is threatening to throw me out. And the only thing standing between me and what I’ve earned is a bank that has shown zero empathy, zero urgency, and zero accountability.

What kind of bank does this to a human being?

Stanbic Bank Nigeria, you are failing. Not just in service — but in humanity.

This isn’t just about me. There are likely hundreds of others suffering in silence under your careless systems and inhumane policies. And I refuse to be quiet anymore.

I’m calling you out publicly.
I’m demanding that you upgrade my account, credit my salary, and apologize for the stress, shame, and suffering you’ve caused.

And I’m not letting this go until it’s resolved.

Irewolede Olabode
A frustrated Stanbic Bank victim
If you want this resolved as soon as possible, continue to report them on social media and even add FIJ.

Eventually shame will make them do the right thing and get a more up to date and humane way of doing address verification without endangering people and asking stupid questions to strangers if you live there......where the hell is that done in the civilised world because of ordinary bank account??

Nice one.
Why is it not easily ready and common in the market and DIY achieving it?
We've had this discussion on this thread earlier this year or so, and as HB indicated, people have been using lifepo batteries for ages to power their cars.

On the DIY angle, I also remember posting a video on this thread of a guy who had been using a wooden contraption with lifepo cells to power his car for like 4-5 years.

ask4bk:
Those are the complains i made.
You'll need a BMS that can handle 1000A, and then batteries that can do 3-4C to hit 500-1000A.

As for this assertion and CCA, this is definitely not an issue for lifepo cells as they will practically always out crank a lead acid battery of similar weight or capacity.

I believe the main issue why LFP has not been adopted universally in the West is partly because of pricing and safety concerns but now it's mainly its limitations in being charged in cold weather. No one wants a battery that you may need to swap out for a quarter or more of the year when their is a reliable chemistry one has been using for more than half a century that works fine.

EDIT: the page we thrashed this out for a bit

Car TalkRe: Police Took 80,000 From Me Yesterday, Because Of Absent This Paper. by AndroBlaze: 2:45am On Jul 05, 2025
Iceking1:
Good afternoon Nairalanders,

I was driving yesterday afternoon, when I was stopped by the police, they inspected my papers and noticed that I bought my car at a car stand "used" so they asked me for a document named "authority to sell" I was surprised because I haven't ever had of that before, even though this Is my 4th car. They then proceeded to ask me for agreement paper between the first owner and the previous owner that sold to me. Which I don't have, but I have every other documents from the immediate owner, and have none from the very first owner, except the motor receipt, that they used to buy the motor from car stand.

They took my car to the station, and demanded 400k, I pleaded with them for almost an hour until they accepted 80,000. They told me they need cash, I withdrew the money and gave them the cash.

When I got out of the station I confided with a friend and narrated everything to him as it happened and asked him for help In other to avoid such a scenario from happening again.

He told me that, the paper that I wrote and signed on the car stand before leaving with the car, on the day I bought the car "aggremenr paper" was what led them asking for the "authority to sell" paper. He told me that nevertheless, they have no business asking me for the agreement paper between the old, and immediate seller that sold to me and the other previous owner.

He then advised me to go and re_do another agreement paper, the ones they normally type with old type writer, and take it to who sold the car to me to sign, so that when next they see me they won't ask me for authority to sell, as my agreement papers won't indicate that I bought the car from a car stand "used" but it would seem like I bought the car directly from a regular user.

I did as he told me but I'm still worried, as they would still stop me to take more money from me in the future because I don't have the agreement paper between the immediate previous owner and the former owner that sold to him. They're always fond of asking for such, all my previous cars I have the aggrement papers of previous owners to current owners that sold to me, please I need advice on how to go about this agreement papers, I have gone to the car stand severely and they gave me the contact of whom they bought the vehicle from before selling to me, I called and he told me that he had traveled out, I need help please, help me.

Would an affidavit of "loss of agreement paper from who sold to me directly and the first user solve this issue? Please help I'm so worried.

Below is the 80,000 I withdrew and used in settling the police yest afternoon, I paid 2800 as charges to the POS girl.
Go and install cameras in your car and when police stop you advise them the cameras are rolling , automatic and you can't switch off.

It's either that or you forsake driving and use uber and public transport as someone mentioned.

If your BMS can't handle trickle charge, then it's not a BMS. Also in practical terms, with lifepo you don't need to leave these kind of chargers connected to your batteries infinitely, it charges the battery fast so you just clip on and clip off.

I have a particular 100ah lifepo that has ONLY been connected to a smart charger and a old solar controller that uses only lead acid settings for almost a year, no problems at all.

Clearly the logical inference from the post above is Taiwan is trying to solicit us by pointing out its strong relationship with St Lucia and hoping we follow suit.

Anyway, Buhari & Co already showed our support for one China by limiting our relationship with Taiwan. I believe Tinubu will follow suit too, though I'd prefer we play both sides and play them well.

KudozInteriors:
Good morning Solar Gurus🙌

Thank you all for the great work done here.

Please I have a question:
I want to upgrade my Solar panels and from my little research, transformerless inverters thrive on more volts and panels with more volts and less current are good for solar connections as with lesser current, your wires don't heat up. And normally, when a panel has more volts, it will have less current.

So I wanted to sell off my panels and get new ones as I currently have 4 panels acclaimed to be 550 watts each and 2 of them are Canadian of which I'm not sure they're even up to 450 watts.

I wanted going for 6pcs of Jinko 550watts panels which will amount to 750k (125k each) and produce 240 volts and total of 3300 watts but my good friend that is a well trained installer advised me to buy the kind of panels he's using…said he got them from a reliable source: 380watts for 85k each and produces 37volts. If I buy 10pcs, this will cost me 850k with total of 3800 watts and give me 370volts against the 240 volts from the 6pcs of Jinko and lesser current for my wires. According to him, vendors buy from his source and change the label to 450 watts.

Please what do you advise I do?

Thank you do much🙏
Chief, just like HB said, the two deals are practically the same.

Even if you factor price and change it to 7 Jinko (875k, 3800w). Also the Jinko panels have the added advantage of being from a brand that none of us is complaining of and also you will have fewer panels on your roof which is also a plus.

Is the error from the battery or from the junctek shunt?
I don't get what you are seeing as an error here. If I am right, I believe your battery is like 4kw, so you clearly didn't drain it fully.

If you are expecting a battery that was half drained to match 100% the reading for draining and re-filling I think you are forgetting how lifepo cells behave especially with a BMS controlling things.

I don't think the discrepancy leaves much to be worried about considering the type of cells Haisic would use...you could test further by fully draining and fully recharging, the figures should match more closely or at least the gap shouldn't increase by much.

It's not the "panel" that was used to give the device an identity. It is simply that the IMEI of an extinct device was used to give the device an identity. There are a lot of androids tools that can be used to achieve this . In short, Android IMEI numbers can be changed or rewritten.
You are right. It's also possible Oppo reused only the IMEI of the older phone to reduce costs, especially if it was onsold.

That's why doing IMEI checks especially with Chinese and double sim phones isn't always so reliable, better to use serial numbers if you are able too.

Putinofrussia:
Owolabu is the first West African in space.

No, Owolabi Salis is not the first Black African in space. While he is set to be the first Nigerian to travel to space, multiple news sources confirm that Guion Bluford, an American astronaut, was the first African American to travel to space in 1983.
Owolabi Salis is making history as the first Nigerian to travel to space on a Blue Origin mission, but he is not the first Black African to venture into space. Owolabi is also known for being the first Black African to travel to both the Arctic and Antarctic within a single season, according to a press release from Blue Origin.

Oga, he is the first Black African to enter space and no African should be silly enough to fall for any other description.

The African-Americans you are talking about cannot be described as the first Africans to enter space.....they should be described as the first black people or people of African descent to enter space but not as the first Africans.

In fact even the description I gave above of them is likely even wrong, as genetics and hollywood has shown us that a lot of people who look White have considerable Black African genetics but it does not show in their skin, so again that would mean those people that look overtly Black are not even the first people of African descent to enter space. For example if someone like Mariah Carey had entered space, will you be the one to tell her she is not Black after she has told you people over and over that she is.

So please give Chief Owolabi, who has a track record of going where Africans do not go his rightly deserved props and not people who choose when they want to identify with you or not.
