My brother has been very sick since January after his warehouse got vandalized and couldn’t offset a bank Loan.
He was diagnosed of hepatitis B and his condition got from better to worse
I knew the debt was part of what was eating him up , So I promised him that will do what ever is within my power to offset the debt just to save his sanity and health
I called the lady ( loaning officer) that aided him in the loan process and requested for restructuring since it’s a commercial bank (Sterling bank)
I explained the critical nature of my brother’s sickness to her and my brother’s inability to repay the loans
She said “No” to restructuring and started laying curses on my brother with threats. She later called to inform me that she has taken the case to a Deity in her village ( Over a bank loan)
Fast forward to last night , She came with armed police men on tricycle and beat up my brother , chained him and took him away .
I immediately put a call across to Sterling bank to know if they authorized or came for the arrest on Saturday evening and they said “No”
They said that they don’t have a hand in the arrest and they don’t operate that way
Please friends , how do I go about this My brother is still in detention and the woman is still threatening to jail him
No one, whether bank or marketer, has a right to put someone in jail for legitimately owing money. Being a debtor is a civil issue and not a criminal issue.
What you can do is make sure the lady loses her job by blaming his predicament on Sterling bank, forget the lady. If you make the right public noises, Sterling would be forced to warn the lady and she will stop with her harassment. You can still engage a lawyer if you want to as what the lady and police have done is illegal.
But their is an exception, if your brother issued a dud cheque to either the lady or the bank, he has commited a criminal offence. You need to determine that before you proceed.

A group of public affairs analysts have said that APC’s worst mistake was challenging the outcome of Osun gubernatorial election in 2022.
They were speaking in relation to the cases before the presidential election tribunal and the expected judgment.
According to them, the Osun judgment was the first time the Supreme Court interpreted the 2022 Electoral Act. And in doing so, the Supreme Court gave some significant pronouncements which includes:
First, that IREV was an integral part of of INEC’s collation process.
Again, that the BVAS and from EC8A were primary sources of evidence in proof of electoral fraud or anything thereof.
Similarly, that both the Constitution, the Electoral Act and INEC Guidelines and even Training Manual are justiciable. That is, that they are all legal instruments that can be used against INEC should they deviate from any. In doing this, the Supreme Court even quoted a section of INEC’s guideline verbatim which established the undisputed place of INEC Guidelines in law.
Now, this group are of the opinion that almost all the resolutions of the Supreme Court in the Osun Judgment, is working against APC’s case at the Tribunal right now. And considering that the Osun judgment is as recent as 3 months ago, it is a precedent that the Supreme Court might easily depart from anytime soon.

Anyway to answer the question, who ever wins at the PEPT, the loser (likely Peter Obi) can only appeal at the Supreme court. Oh and if a sitting Executive was to lose at any tribunal, they will only be removed if they failed to appeal...if Adeleke Jackson couldn't be removed by a tribunal, neither will PBAT.

OwoukoUrua: I sat for WAEC twice and JAMB UTME thrice so I'm very sure of what I'm saying. It could be that things have changed as you have postulated.
For a honest and hardworking student, it easier to score 300+ in JAMB than to get A's in WAEC For a dishonest student, it is easier to get parallel A's in WAEC than to even score up to 200 in JAMB.
Reasons: There are numerous miracle centers for WAEC scattered all around the country. UTME being a CBT test is much more difficult to exploit. WAEC questions leak, JAMB questions don't. Jamb sets different questions for each batch of candidates sitting for it's exam, WAEC sets the same questions for all candidates. JAMB CBT centers are fewer than WAEC examination, making way for more effective supervision.
With the right amount, you can get a parallel A's WAEC result without ever sitting for the examination if you know the right place to go to.

You stated you sat for JAMB 3 times and WAEC twice, so already that shows JAMB is harder.
Just like Mmesoma, I was a local champion, someone who was always top in class and passed my exams with ease from day one. I passed my WAEC (GSCE) in SS2 (with 6 As) and passed my proper SSCE and NECO with As all in one sitting a year later. However when it got to JAMB I was truly humbled, with a less than average score in my only sitting.
I know no one who passed JAMB in one sitting (their only sitting) while also failing their WAEC. In my time it was always expected that you would sit JAMB more than once, this was not the expectation for SSCE.

JAMB has expressed deep concern over the inclination and eagerness of certain individuals to engage in mischief for the purpose of achieving narrow and selfish interest by peddling faslehood and Halftruths.
This is in reaction by the Board to the misleading and widely-circulated social media publication that one Atung Gerald with a score of 380 is the highest scorer in the 2023 UTME.
According to the board, the so called publication is far from the truth. The Board also expressed dismay at the level in which poorly-researched and very sensitive issues are being circulated in the public space even by people who should know better.
For instance, a careful study of the so-called UTME registration number of the said candidate would have shown that the people or groups pushing this fake narrative are patent carriers of fake news as the registration number could readily be seen that it is a non existence registration number given its false features. In view of the foregoing, the Board urges all to always cross-check their facts before going public as a particular supposedly 'hot' news item might turn to be a red herring.
The Board also noted that the so-called reward expected to be handed over to the owner of the phantom score is nothing but a figment of the fecund imagination of the writer as it had never for any reason directly rewarded or recognized any highest-scoring or lowest-scoring candidate. This is, however, not to say that, the Board, in the course of conversations at some strategic events, has not had cause, at times, to release its ten highest UTME scorers to buttress some salient points especially when issues of what constitutes highest scores which included candidates O'level and institution's screening scores are explained.
Such had never been about directly honouring or rewarding such candidates. It would be recalled that a decade ago, Cowbell had instituted an award for the highest scorers, as noble as that policy was, it was , to all intents and purposes, a private sector initiative.
Therefore, the Board finds it rather unfortunate for some obscure writers to bring up random names of people from certain parts of the country just to create negative impressions in the minds of those who might not know.
As such, to set the records straight, the Board disclosed that it had, no record of any candidate who scored 380. The Board, as a responsive agency, will continue to be guided by the spirit of patriotism as it consciously takes those s teps aimed at upholding national ethics and values while implementing those policies aimed at checking abuses and protecting the rights of Nigerians.
Hence, the Board will continue to strive to give the nation its best and would not be deterred by those who do not wish her well.

Mmesoma Ejikeme, a 19-year-old student, has come under fire for allegedly parading a fake Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result.
Ejikeme was initially celebrated for scoring 362 in the 2023 examination, a result that would make her the highest scorer, but the board has come out to say the result she parades is false.
One key argument JAMB made was that the slip Ejikeme paraded was last used in 2021, and the QR code attached reveals a result belonging to one Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle with a 138 score.
Ejikeme, in a video released on Monday, maintained her innocence, but the debate has raged on. JAMB said her result might have been the work of forgers who pull off pranks to show friends, so FIJ looked into this claim.
OUR ANALYSIS FIJ checked Google Playstore for applications that could help one manipulate UTME results and found one called ‘JambFun-Fake Jamb Result Maker’.

We downloaded this app and opened it to reveal a mock ‘JAMB 2022 UTME Results Notification’ slip.
What we did afterwards was fill out the form with sample details to see if it would produce a result similar to the one paraded by Ejikeme. Our finding was staggering.

With the result we forged via the app, FIJ, a candidate in an exam it did not sit for, scored 400 in UTME.

The result of our scan showed “11231597AC :: Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle :: 138”, the same result we obtained when we scanned Ejikeme’s paraded result.

Reacting to a video published by Ejikeme, in which she revealed that her QR code showed another candidate’s name, Chimeziri had attached another result allegedly belonging to Ejikeme, but with a different QR code claiming she scored 362.
We observed that the QR code on this result appeared superimposed on the result, as the code was on a bright shade of white, while the result was on a shade of green. It was doctored.

More claims arose by members of the public claiming people had suffered the same fate in the hands of JAMB in the past.
One Atung Gerald, a native of Kaura, Kaduna State, allegedly scored 380 in the UTME exam, but when we scanned the QR code attached to his peddled result, it read the same “11231597AC :: Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle :: 138”. All this points to one thing: the results came from one source with a unique code that returns “11231597AC :: Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle :: 138”. And the source? ‘JambFun-Fake Jamb Result Maker’.

When we scanned their results however, they returned a code that led nowhere. This simply means that codes attached to original 2023 UTME results can’t return scores via the common QR Code – Barcode Scanner.

Thank God the investigative journalist is named Ojukwu or we would have heard another thing.
This shows there are sensible people in all tribes of Nigeria, unfortunately in some tribes, these sensible people are clearly in the minority and struggling.
