andrewbaba44:Yes, my point is the euros clearly affected the votes so I wonder why you and Sportsweb thought Vini deserved the Ballon D'or when he was also garbage in his own "euros". The Spanish coach, La Fuentes does not agree with your last statement though. |
Sportsweb:That's my point silly. His poor euros is the reason he did not make the podium but you were campaigning for Vini who was worse. So why are you asking me about Foden. Why did you shamelessly campaign for Vini? |
Sportsweb:If this was based on just Manchester City, Foden would finish on the podium. What did Lamine do compared to him in their respective leagues? So stop asking me silly questions. |
Sportsweb:This guy? Better than your guy acshually.
|
pu7pl3:Even you don't believe that. |
Sportsweb, how do you want to be addressed? I TOLD YA! |
Jamiuokolaa:The 11th best player in the world. |
Oasis007:Ask them who was voted RM player of the year or La Liga player of the year. If it is not Vinicius jnr (it is not) then the argument against Rodri should be reserved for LAWMA. |
oliverano:Where dem dey? Who dem be?
|
Sportsweb:Who's that? |
jpmoriarti:"Styles make fights". Never forget. Barca is the in-form attacking team at the moment but the first statement stands. |
Vinicius when his team needed him today. ![]()
|
abduleez1:Midfield control with Valverde, Jude, Cama and Tchouameni? Nah. That's ball winning and counter attacking with Vini and Kylian. They don't want to control the Midfield. They want to win the ball in dangerous positions. That's a low block. It could completely neutralize Barca. |
Nuff said.
|
oliverano:I agree that Gundo has been not up to par. I even said it some posts back (I said Pep is playing favorites by starting him etc). I'm just saying the whole team is not playing well so I don't like to single players out if the whole team is poor. |
fredoooooo:One day, they'll realize that winners win, and losers make excuses. |
oliverano:He was bad today but he is still adjusting to the pace of the Premier league. The bigger picture is City as a whole are still not playing well so I won't put it on Gundo. If you see the positions he is taking and chances he has missed or passes attempted, he will be back to his form soon. |
Just a reminder. City lost this same game last season.
|
Leyqute:Yeah.

Friendly reminder that, The Palmer who would have guaranteed England's Euros had he been started against Spain rather than useless Foden, started, played 10 and finished the entire game. Useless Foden was taken off for Solanke whilst Watkins (better than Jackson) was the striker. Watkins missed a chance (but airhead isn't talking about it) Greece went on to score twice (first one was when Palmer's pocket was picked from Pickford's pass) but it was ruled out for offside. Then Greece went on to win the game. That Palmer, who could not help England beat Greece, is the one who could have helped England beat Spain. Anyway, after England lost the game. The reason England lost was put entirely on Foden. But but but Foden is not England's best player. We only just place all the burden on England losing on him. |
drisham:You've forgotten that Foden left the game in the 72nd minute. Remember during the Euros, Palmer will come on when England were going out to attack and the narrative was if he had started.... He started and played full 90 minutes right? Did England win? Okay. I agree with you. Foden should be dropped. He was removed in the 72nd minute right? So England had 25 mins to win the game (18 regular time + 7 mins added time) right? Did they win? No. Bellingham, Palmer, Watkins, Solanke were all playing. Useless Foden was off. Did England win? But it is Foden's fault. ![]() |
Leyqute:You mean the whole of the England National Team? |
Automoron, no vex. The essay is not for you. |
liveLongNprospa:Of course. According to whoscored, right? You are incapable of independent rational thinking so your stat portal will disgrace you now. The definition of a misplaced pass according to those sites is any pass made that does not get to a teammate without a deflection. So if an opposing player wins the ball off an English player or deflects his pass, whoscored and co WILL NOT RECORD IT as a misplaced pass they'll accord it to the opposing player as an interception. That's why you've been warned 1 billion times to actually watch games and stop posting crap stats that you cannot analyze. Did Saka attempt multiple crosses that got blocked? Yes. But it will not be recorded as a misplaced pass. LOL. Did Saka attempt dribbles that did not materialize? Yes. One of which led to a counter but whoscored and co will not register it as a misplaced pass. I'm tired of schooling you. Please, watch a match. I've told you, real people don't care about stats when they know what they saw. |
liveLongNprospa:When you play as a makeshift striker. You'll automatically have few touches. Erling Haaland anybody ?As a false 9, in defensive phases, you are to lead the press. One of such instances led to an error that Saka could have squared back to his open "striker" but he took a shot that was deflected. But one quasi-analyst that depends on whoscored rating will ask for a shot or assist from Foden to justify starting. Silly, the false 9 will depend on his teammates to look for him. Remove your biases for a second and pretend that Foden was Odegaard, or KdB or even better, Messi. Now rewatch the game and see how many times "Messi" is ignored for players in less ideal positions. Nobody is asking why all the better creative players wr kept hearing are better than Foden created less clear cut chances than Greece. Yeah, blame the false 9. Again, silly, when Erling drops deep for City, the essence is to bait the full backs on him to move out of position for the decoy striker to get into advanced positions. Sadly, none of the dummies playing for England understand this move. Think of that chance Gundo got against Arsenal that he lofted past Gab but miscued on the volley. That chance was made by Erling, baiting Saliba and Gab out of position. Same reason Erling scored his goal against Arsenal. Gundo's positioning meant Saliba had to be close to him rather than the double team combo him and Gab would have been able to mount on Haaland. These are some of the intangibles teams that play anywhere Belle face football will never see because whoscored cannot factor it. Foden did sleekly nutmeg a Grecian player that fouled him. The resulting freekick is what Cole or TAA took. Did whoscored show you that? I laugh at all whoscored analysts. The real analysts are not blind. Jude was not in the Euros TOTY. He was not voted by English fans as POTY. Everyone knows he has dropped in the Ballon D'or pecking order. Dear Whoscored merchant, nobody is buying what Smellingham is selling and the reason is clear. We all watched the game. He was awful but a clutch goal always removes all bad ratings. |
liveLongNprospa:Your agenda is weak. - Main character syndrome makes a player hold unto the ball for long when an easy forward pass to an open man will suffice. - Main character syndrome makes a player take a shot when laying the ball off to a player in better position will suffice. - Main character syndrome makes a player assigned to play 8, is taking up the position of the 10, 9, false 9, just so he will be noticed over the success of the whole team. - Main character syndrome will work for the "notice me" player but the team will eventually suffer as proven again. Did England win? No. Did any English player play well? No. But put all the blame on the false 9 for having few touches. Meanwhile, when Kane plays and is barely getting any touches, he comes back to retrieve the ball (symptomatic of a poor team). But yeah, blame Foden. During the Euros...."Foden should not start, if Gordon was there...". Gordon played yesterday. Played nonsense but Foden gets the blame for playing false 9. "If TAA had started not Kyle Walker in the Euros"....TAA started. Was defending headlessly. Completely forgettable performance but at least he created 1 chance that Noni missed so...Whorscored rating. Blame Foden for playing false 9 and having few touches. If Watkins played instead of Foden. Cool. England won the ball high up, Palmer played Watkins in, he skied it. England lost. Yeah, Foden's fault. But when I tell you Foden is the best player and the team should be built around him. No. He is a fraud. Start other people. Where have I said Foden must start? LOL. Don't start him. Play others. Leave him to be the system player for Pep on course to winning his 7th EPL title. Meanwhile, system player Foden has played in ALL the systems Pep has devised since 2017. So what system are you dummies referring to? LOL |
airmark:Don't be stupid. Tell me what Saka did yesterday. Period. |
airmark:The only thing Foden did wrong was misplace those 2 passes I described earlier. Inconsequential passes considering the flow of the game at both moments if I must add. I usually don't pile on Saka because he is a solid player but he generally was off the flow of the game. Misplaced passes in the wings, could not put in his trademark dangerous back post crosses, tried to take one particular shot where Foden was in a better position (but duly apologized afterwards as the shot was blocked). Did lose the ball dangerously during a phase of a counter-attack for Greece that led to his booking. Foden was a false 9 in the first half and later dropped in the second half to pair with Rice. He probably had fewer touches than maybe only Solanke, Pickford and Watkins. |
airmark:LOL. Any player without G/A did not play well to you mediocres. I'm sure Colwill was excellent today because of the last ditch save. Regardless of the numerous times he could not pass the ball to his DM or LB or CAM to help progress the ball. But he was started for being a ball-playing CB. And you people wonder why Pep can lose both Erling and KDB and still win the league? |
airmark:Saka. |
airmark:Yeah, pressing Foden was useless even though only him and Saka were committed to pressing from the front. Useless Foden that was showing up to Basmati Rice, attracting the press, allowing for Rice to play the vertical pass to take those players out the game yet that one was passing back to Stones. LOL Useless Foden that was dropping deep to help the ball progress since all the midfielders were confused and occupying each other's space. I can go on and on but I'm teaching you people why Pep's teams will beat your useless teams to titles constantly. Only for foolish people to ask me why Foden did not score. Palmer played creator today oh. How many assists? |
Leyqute:Which one did you get right? |
