The team with 3 goals wanted to win. Conceding 1 goal does not ruin that. The team with a 1 goal lead wanted to win as well. Conceding 1 goal ruins that. Is that clear?

You cannot praise a team for defending a 1 goal lead in a game that the lead was LOST. You can trump up all the emotional reasons why their effort should be lauded: red card, 45 mins, away at City etc. But ultimately, the point of using the lowest of low blocks was to PROTECT their 1-goal lead. They did not do it. Simple.

Nobody said defending well = not conceding. I've told you to make sure you understand what you are replying.

I said you cannot defend well and then lose your advantage it does not correlate. If Arsenal led 3-0 and conceded 1 goal. One can say their defense was good even if they conceded. But if you are winning 1-0 and then draw 1-1, the defended well argument fails flat.

Don't worry about whether I can remember clear chances. That is another argument. Arsenal's goals were flukes. Cala shot from the moon and Ederson was impeded when Gabriel scored. See, I can make those arguments too.

If a defensively strong team, already led and hoped to maintain that lead, then you can agree that Arsenal did not do so. That does not mean they are not defensively strong. It just means for today, they did not defend as well as people are claiming - since they too did not lose.
